Last night with the Sexy Incredible. - Droid Incredible General

My Galaxy Nexus is due to reach me tomorrow. Got a sweet deal for 199 from wirefly keeping my unlimited data. Had the 175 deal from letstalk but after they pushed my date once again to 1/12 i ordered from wirefly.
So anyways tonight will be the last night for the incredible to be an active phone. Beyond that it will become my backup phone... maybe video player at office.

Enjoy the new phone... I'm still on the fence buying it yet or playing the waiting game. Verizon wants $250 for the phone.

I was on the fence too but got disappointed by the fact that its a CDMA phone.. I was really hoping for at dual CDMA/GSM compatibility....
If you want to mess with ICS while still on the DINC, Kushdeck's rom is fairly stable and can definitely be used as a daily (which i do currently). Its nice to be able to run the latest android on a 2 years old (almost) phone

The flashing process is very fast and straightforward.
Enjoy!

Ya I've been running alpha 5 for a week now, no real issues other than a few freezes. Less than my last GB ROM though.

Atrix has the best hardware but won't get custom roms. The Desire HD has lots of custom roms.
The N1 is too old to get as a new phone now.
If I had to pick one of the three by Wednesday it would be the Desire HD. Motorola is a deal breaker for me as of today.
I have both the Nexus One and the Inspire, and am currently conflicted as to which one to use for everyday use. Right now I am on the N1 with Gingerbread, and waiting for a 2.3 release for the Inspire. Both are very capable phones, though I have had several major crashes on a bone stock Inspire.
The Nexus One was a recent thank you gift from a client, and the Inspire was a replacement from AT&T for the Captivate.
Atrix if hardware specs are important for you.
Desire HD if you want custom roms
N1 is the lousiest in terms of specs between the 3 phones, but is google branded and have the latest gingerbread official rom

May be N1 is a too old to buy but it is not the lousiest... it is just an old hardware which was the best out there at the time... it still is better build quality than the DHD IMO, may be it is quiet comparable to the Atrix atleast considering build quality.
Again, it all depends on what's coming up next and I personally prefer Atrix if I was lucky to get it on any of the canadian careers

It's coming to bell soon. Check the website.
N1 is still a great phone. But the Motorola Atrix is sweet in hardware. I going to have to up a MAX phone. (Motorola Atrix)
I looked at the atrix today, and was surprised at how small it is. Not much bigger than the n1

I agree. Most people don't root so as long as you are one of the many that don't then go for the Atrix 4g. 1930mAh battery is a game changer!
Well now that I have the Nexus I fell as though I can make a good argument.
I used the Atrix 4G all day, every day for about 5 days when I first got it, then traded my iPad for the Nexus o1
At this point, I have both of those and a Captivate, which I used tto compare the speeds.
Having them all hooked up over wifi aand loading the full Engadget page, the Atrix came in first with the Nexus coming maybe 2 seconds later at the most.
Pages load quickly, embedded flash plays nicely as well. I love the size and notification lights too.
All in all, I would say to get the Nexus one now (Haven't used the Desire) and save your upgrade for later this year; at least that's what I'm doing.
Personally I'm waiting, but if you have to buy then get the Atrix.

I want to buy Nexus S

Hey all, i am X10i user, i want to move to nexus S, what do you thing about your phone?
How about price compared with its performance? And how about its camera and battery?
And what about if nexus S compared with galaxy S?
Help me to make my choice.

I pretty much just did exactly the same thing as what your are talking about.
smashed my x10i two weeks ago in thiland on holiday (would not boot)
cam back home and brought a nexus s for $300 AUD outright unbranded
camera is pretty good but shame it is not 8.1mp and no 720p video
battery is awsome i am geting twice as long as my x10i had to charge 3x on a friday?
speed is incredible you are geting what 2.3 was built for
lack of SD slot a shame but 16GB is prerty good
i would have like to wait for the galaxy s but money and time (could not live with using my HTC magic anymore)

Hi,
I'm thinking of getting a Nexus S for a friend as well.
In your day to day use (say any activity except for gaming), have you had any performance issues at all? Have you noticed any lag?
Thanks!
I'm using Nexus S after selling my Sgs I9003.
Works great with major custom rom, for instance, CyanogenMod7 and MIUI.
If you want your phone be able to got the latest and fastest rom upgrade from google,
then Nexus S would be a suitable phone for you.
It's comparatively spendable in price.
I bought it for Rp.3.999.000,- on Global Teleshop Yogyakarta.
And now, I already loved it....

Not any worth noting I have only had to restart the phone once and it was a Telco issue any way (would not send sms) where My x10i was being rebooted at least 3 times a day running 2.3.
I do like moding my phones but atm i have yet to unlock the nexus mainly because Andriod is getting to the point where there is realy no need to. it just works. (maybe need to get proxys working soon for work )
Bought this phone off someone for $250 wasn't really used. Perfect condition. I would say go for it if you are doing a hardware upgrade. I would have to say - the lack of SD and gorilla glass (not to mention some models dont have AMOled), might as well pay a few more for the new Nexus or GSII. =)
I bought one a month or so ago (roughly) that was only a little over a month old for $150
It's a good phone. I don't like how it feels like cheap plastic (I miss the feel of the Nexus One) but other than that, no complaints. The screen is gorgeous.
I'm content... just impatiently waiting for the CyanogenMod super-geniuses to make some Ice Cream Sandwich magic
you should wait for nexus prime
I have SGS2 but i just ordered Nexus S yesterday. woohoo can't wait!!
so i'll have 2 samsung's by next week!
currently is the best phone you can find with a low price and can still work perfectly another year (waiting for next Nexus)
Galaxy S2 and others are better but more expensive and the user experience does not change enough for pay this difference
The only reason for buy another phone is search for a greatest screen

Came from x10 mini pro 2 weeks ago, just glad to have a phone that doesn't freeze on me. I like the size of it, I miss the flashy and colourful notification LED but the soft buttons on the Nexus S do the notification trick for me now.
I got it because it was guaranteed the 4.0 update, it's pure vanilla android and it was awesome value.
Battery life is amazing!
Just thought I'd post my experience since I came from an SE phone too.

I bought my nexus s 9023 2 weeks ago and i love it. bought it for 190€ (greetings from germany ) and i got lots of stuff with it like 2 cases.
I came from a Milestone. I am so glad i dumped that milestone.
imho the nexus s is the best smartphone you can get for that price right now. It doesnt have to be dualcore all the time. Single core is good enough for most of the operations a smartphone has to do.
How about its GPU compared with tegra2?

I got a nexus s in the exact same situation. I had an lg phone already (Optimus t) and I wasn't impressed with their ability to put out an update, so when I heard that the nexus s was going to get ICS, then I was sold. Get a used GSM unlocked one for under 300 USD and enjoy the most reasonable android 4.0 device on the planet.

How many devs/users we got left?

So how many people we really still have using and working on the vibrant? I'm feeling kinda lonely with my love for this phone =P seems like the vibrant is getting left in the dust allot quick then my G1, which is sad =/
Also side note, anyone else feel like with a SGS there really isn't anything good enough to upgrade to yet? Only phone I'd even consider is the original SGS2 or the sprint SGS2. And those are iffy due to crappy audio. Vibrant is the best phone I own period. Beats my nexus S in everything =P even beats out my HP touchpad easily IMO. Thoughts?

I feel you man, I'm getting bored of this phone. I will probably upgrade to the muiu phone. Since, it's battery lastes so long.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
I just got the Vibrant about 2 months ago, as my wife's Motorola crapped out on her and our carrier swapped it out for the Vib. She wanted to swap with me, so I did and I have to say that once I upgraded it to a custom ROM, I actually like it a lot. It works well for me and what I want.
I think that most of the Jump-ship is because of boredom and not performance. I feel that and understand it. I have been there myself, but I like this phone and it is really easy to handle, breakdown (mean ADB by this) and there have been some really great customizations out on it.
Plus between the 16gb internal and my 32gb external, that is some serious storage for a phone. My old computer from a few years ago only had 30gb hard drive in it.
I am here and plan on staying for awhile.
I'm still here, kinda. My G2x is my main driver, but i still got my Vibrant and still build kernels when i have time. You're not alone

Go to the galaxy s2 forums ;-) .
You will find most of the great devs from many of the different forums there.
It seems as though Samsung shipped out yet another phone with outdated filmware lol....imagine that,
They are promising to send ics thru kies lmao ....I believe we have been thru this BS before
There are 3 vibrants in my home. My wife upgraded to the sensation and after a week gave it to my son and took her vibrant out of the drawer. I personally love this phone. Thanks to all the devs who still work on it. I have stockpiled my fave roms and kernels....just in case the remaining devs leave

I like it a lot n planning to stay with it for a while longer cos i dont have the 2yrs contract matter. Btw cos im frm Singapore and we dont have Vibrant here so that makes my phone unique than the original SGS..lol. But i really dissapointed on Samsung on the firmware case and yeah this phone if rooted fly high. So i have to say i love my vibrant. Also thanks to all the devs here, appreciated what u guys have done for us n for staying with us making us great customs roms/kernels.

ICS for Vibrant? Looking foward to this.lol
this is a great phone and when rooted does everything i've ever wanted a phone to do. although the experience with ICS will more than likely be better I'm still content with what we have so far. there are no hardcore 3d games that have pushed the hardware to the limit so I don't see any real hardware upgrade necessary. I stopped buying games on my vibrant any way cause I wasn't finishing the ones I had bought before and realized I was wasting my money. So i'm simply using it for media apps, social apps etc. These don't really need a dual core processor with 1gig of ram. The only thing I could want is an identical ICS theme and I'd be set at least for another year on this phone even if we don't ever get ICS.
Yeah, I could maybe see myself moving over to the Nexus S simply because it's got a bigger dev community and the T-Mobile version can be found for pretty cheap, but otherwise I just can't justify moving on from the Vibrant. If I don't go for the Nexus S I'll probably ride out with this until more ICS phones come out.
Hey ECOTOX, I've been quietly learning some stuff about Android and whatnot, I wouldn't consider myself a dev, not even close to one, but I'm learning and I catch on quickly, if you need any help, or have any tips, I'm here. I feel the same. I just don't see a lot of end user support with the Samsung products such as the Vibrant, and many other iterations. Updates seems to either take forever or it'll may never see the light of day. As for developer community? I can't really complain about their support for this device, since they are bringing out the goodies out of their own time with no expectations of donations, etc. And I'm grateful that they are cooking up roms, etc. In the future? I will be purchasing a Google branded phone: prompt updates, and great end user support. I just can't live with a dead end product, just feels like I got cheated out.
Well I just went to T-Mobile store and played with the sgs2 and I must say I'm completely impressed.
With a quadrant score of 2748 stock I'm blown away.
With my shattered screen and assurion's choice of replacement I'm sticking with my broken vibrant with miui ...I'm hoping sgs2 gets miui soon ...but I'm getting antsy and just might go out next week and buy the sgs2 outright

What are you waiting to upgrade for?

Are you happy with your phone still? Are you waiting for possibly a new LTE phone in 2012? Or just waiting on your upgrade?
Just curious to see what others thinking about their phone. My phone still works great, but being the geek I am. I'm itching for something new. The E4GT looks like a sweet phone, and supposedly there's a fix for the LOS that developers got their hands on.
Waiting for something that would be a real upgrade, so far I've been very happy with my evo, thanks to the devs here. Until sprint releases a LTE device that's killer spec wise, & has some decent development going on, I'll stay with my OG. I've had my evo since it came out, and its totally because the devs here keep my evo fresh & interesting.

My upgrade isn't until August 2012. There should be a bunch of new phones released between now and then. The Galaxy Nexus and HTC Edge or other new quad core phones look intriguing, Iphone 5 (probably not I like the personalization options Android has). As long as we get an ICS rom it will feel like we're running the latest phone though, at least for now.
my upgrade isn't until March, so I'm sure a lot of new phones will be out by then. But if I had to pick right now, I'd either get the GS2 or leave Sprint for the Galaxy Nexus
i cant decideeeee, i dont know if i should get iphone or wait for early 2012 to upgrade
i do want GN not sure if sprint will take their time like they did with Nexus S
for now will keep the EVO going since we have great Devs... and recently swtiched prl to verizon and its working great/better so not sure why switch anyway

We're comin from a pure power source.
I need to switch to verizon because I work in places where sprint's 3g service is junk, so as soon as the nexus is released, i'm gone.

Honestly, it's going to take an awful lot for me to upgrade. There isn't really anything I want to do with a phone that I can't already do with my Evo.
Hardware Acceleration is going to make ICS run really well (even on older hardware), and I expect that the specs in the Evo will allow it to continue on just like a modern phone. Bluetooth, front-facing camera, etc. will continue to make it a contender.
I will be sticking with mine (not counting an accident) for at least another generation until Nexus Next is available, and then consider based on hardware and Android J+.
I would maybe go for that Nexus S (sexy thang). However, there aren't any phones offering me my Death Ray flashlight and kickstand, so...the Evo stays.
I do have 2 bright spots on my screen though, which is annoying.
Im due for upgrade on 2 evos around February. The only thing I really like is the samsung s2..
That phone will probably be 99 but the time end of Feb comes around..
Who knows though, I may just hang tight without a contract..
Waiting for my contract to end. Hopefully network will be working better by then.

Large upgrade for others? ^_^

I'm upgrading from a Sprint Evo 4G and I'm blown away when I compare the specs of the two phones, regardless of what Samsung throws out in the next few weeks I'm getting the One, HTC build quality just blows me away, my Evo 4G lasted 2 1/2 years or so and the battery charges like new, and the phone is 95 percent mint condition, with the tiniest scratch on the screen from a drunk accident.
Who else is making a drastic upgrade and from what model?
I'm upgrading from an iPhone 4 I've had for 2 and a half years so this is big for me, especially since I'm moving over from iOS to android. I can't wait.

Well, I think I need a replacement

I'm definitely gonna love it. While a jailbroken iPhone was fun and all, and still pretty customizable, It will never have the extensible customization android has. Also Android has come a long way since the time i got my iPhone 4. Can't wait to root my device when a root becomes available. The mytouch4G was my favorite phone next to my s3. Still runs great, after two plus years. Stepdaughter uses it now and she loves it.
This is the 1st HTC phone I have been interested since the Amaze, which the wife has now. I wasn't that big on the Amaze acfually, but was a nice phone hardware wise.
See how it goes after the s4 is launched.

Upgrading from the Nexus One I've been using since April or May 2010. It's gonna make an awesome difference.

Yup, a lot of my friends still don't believe my mytouch is running the same OS as them and in some cases still very much powerful. If it wasn't for the One being announced, I probably would've stuck with it for a few more month maybe another year. But the One sold me.
I bought the amaze for my wife. It's a very good device. It just never got that support it needed. I'm probably one of the few that think the camera is great.

I'm in the same boat as you, also 95% sure I want the One but want to see what Samsung is rolling out first and since I'm in the US I don't have a choice in the matter.
Upgrading from a SGII. Looking forward to a phone that doesn't feel like a kids toy.

Same case here! I went to the town in Liverpool to have a hands-on today. I must say the phone is stunning, and without any doubt captures amazing photos, let alone the extra capabilities to shoot slow-motion videos and sequence shots and the ability to edit them thereafter. Boomsound is not only decent, it is so loud that it could easily fill up a small reading room without any assistance of external speakers. The sound is, of course, crisp and clear.
Ever since the phone is rumoured to release i have been monitoring its progress. Have to regrettably admit that i have never been that hardworking in my studies. HTC One definitely lives up to my expectations, in fact it surpasses them.
Ordered the Silver once i got back. Now I'm dying to get it.
Upgrading from the HTC Incredible S myself, there's nothing actually wrong with the phone, and nothing on the market was even remotely luring me into buying it until I saw the HTC One. I am completely sold on it, never been a fan of GS3 (sure, awesome specs, but I really didn't like the way it handled/felt)
My biggest problem is picking the color, I absolutely adore both black and silver, so I picked the silver out of a coin toss
Upgrading from my HTC sensation. While it served me well, I can't resist the HTC One. Was nowhere near as interested in last year's One-X series...have to say that I'm genuinely excited and counting the days until my pre-order arrives.
DHD all the way! I'll still be keeping it

I will be leaving my trusty 3VO. Though not a huge upgrade, it's still quite the upgrade, and I'm especially liking all I've seen about the upgrade in the camera! I will miss my familiarity, as I changed my digitizer twice and my wife's once, and REALLY miss my lack of volume down button (from the 1st digitizer change)...
I'm coming from my (nearly) 3 year old HTC Desire.... Can't wait! got the black version on pre-order.
Upgrading from MyTouch 4g Slide. It all started when the digitizer got broken into pieces had it replaced then a few weeks it totally shut itself down permanently. Right now am using my HTC Sensation so yeah a big upgrade for me.
