roughly 15 seconds, that's the average I've seen. Without the first boot.
If I helped, give thanks, if you please.

If its 15 seconds and the OP is only getting 5, its probably the sound file used. Maybe an issue with the format, bitrate, size, length, etc.

I always used an mp3 file (actually song), then used a ringtone editor.
@OP if you want tell me what boot audio you want an I'll make it.

Video of my G1 running Hero

SMOOTHLY. I figured instead of posting the video link to individual threads, I would just create a new one. The video quality SUCKS, as it was recorded from my other G1, but you get the idea. I hope to have a better quality one up later or tomorrow. I am running 2.7.4, with a 64 mg swap partition.

Very nice! Seems almost identical to my install of 2.7.4 with a 32 mb swap partition but I just switched over to the latest JACMyTouchSki to test that out. I'll probably jump back over to 2.7.4 to check out the larger swap settings and see if I can see a speed increase.
Did you use a 500 megs ext2/3 partition and left the rest FAT32 or did you use something different?

Fat32 partition was left in tact. I also am running an ext3 of 500mgs.
Does it run that fast after it's been left on for a few hours? I mean, I leave mine on all day, and JacHero 2.2.3 (swapper app, no ext) got really slow by the end of the day.

The only thing that bugs me is TouchFlo taking a minute to reload after using the browser and listening to music, but hey I guess we should be thankful we have any kind of port

I wouldn't have thought so, but it was useless anyway imo. All it was good for was loading ads, which made navigation slower. Also when clicking a link to a YouTube video it would try to watch it in flash (which failed) rather than the video player. I think I can sacrifice the sexy visual bookmarks for a huge performance boost.

After last update any new EVO 720p camcorder recordings are dropping frames, freezing on frames and the audio is mismatched.

HTC EVO 4G Camcorder Dropping frames
I've had the problem for over a year. Been to the Sprint store 5 times had hard resets done wiping my phone and no fix. They replaced twice and both new phones do the same thing. Went to the store again today because i'm due an upgrade and they will not do anything but give me another same phone unless I want to get the NEW HTC LTE that would cost $200. They told me that is the only way to fix it. That sounds like crap that I have to pay and switch to another phone to fix the issue.
I can't remember where I read this, but it said to fix this or at least make it better you need to change your read/write speed for your sd card. Haven't tried this myself though, because I don't use the camcorder.

I am using nitrous 1.55 with ca1ne's nitrous kernel. I just ran a few test videos on my own phone. At 128kb r/w under 30 seconds no problem over 30 seconds a little jittery.
After changing r/w speed same thing. I'm sorry that this didn't help out. I was just relaying something I had read, and never tested b/c I don't use the camcorder on my evo. Hope you get this fixed.

Move the readahead speed to 512kb, if it still lags, use 1024kb.. also, it could be the CPU speeds and gov. that's slowing making the video lag.

Dev's take a look!!!

I guess I will have to wait for Tonic. I was trying to make it myself, but I can't get it to actually play during startup. Does anyone know if there is an upper limit to the number of images the boot animation will support?
This video is 560 frames played at about 25 fps. I can try removing some of them that are nearly identical in the beginning to cut it down some, and maybe from other areas.

You can extract ANY rom and replace the boot animation files with these.
Re-zip the sucker and flash as normal.
The files are in \system\media as "bootanimation.zip" (surprise!)
Will give it a shoot and will let you know!
Give it a shot instead and lemme know :þ

[I WISH THIS CAN BE DONE] Boot Animation

I hope some genius artist can come up with a way to combine...

THIS:

So that it would look like CM7 just burst out of the Nook Color just like that. That would be the perfect boot animation for the NookColor, wouldnt y'all agree?
OH! How I wish I had the talent to perform such a task! To anyone who can do this, I'll be happy to DONATE!
Thanks to Suteru for creating the "Nook Boot Ver. 0.8" custom boot animation and to the CyanogenMod devs for the stock CyanogenMod7 boot animation!

A number of problems with it
I flattened down the cyanogen before getting rid of the black halo
Part1 misaligns with part 2
for some reason the bootanimation i pulled from my nook seems to be lower than the quality it should be. No idea on that one.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6100708/bootanimation/boot/bootanimation.zip
I would have just redone it, but the black halo is a big problem, and making or editing these things takes forever.

I'd definitely be able to help you, but I think I lost my files in a dead hard drive. I'll look it up, though.
edit: I think I still have the original files for the first animation! I should be able to have the version you want shortly.
We'll let KitF give it a shot, if not ill try and work on a cleaned up version.
What are you using to edit these? I originally created it in AfterEffects, but I can't remember half the stuff I needed to do since it's been so long since I made it. If you know AE I can just send you the project files.
edit: I've been busy lately, so here are the after effects files if anyone wants:

Nothing, really. I just want to make it feel that CM7 is just a ROM, and that the NookColor is THE device that runs it, if you know what I mean. And combining the two I reckon is the perfect way to do that. Although if you have like more creative ideas, and want to customize/improve it a little bit, I'm not gonna stop you. As long as the bootanimation states CM7 and NookColor, I'm happy.
...on second thought, I guess you can make the bootanimation in LANDSCAPE. The reason behind this is because I primarily use my NookColor in that orientation. So basically if you're going to edit those two bootanimations, just rotate all of them clockwise once. Thanks for doing this!

any animation recommendations?

I personally don't like the ICS build 6 animation. can someone recommend a good boot animation [800x480], preferably one that has a black background to save battery.
I read that if you just delete/rename the bootanimation.zip in system/media it will replace it with some default android animation. Haven't tried it myself yet so IDK.

Wow how many times a day are you rebooting your phone?
I have ICS 6.1 running [using the kernel that came with it] and from when i wake up to when i get home i still have plenty of battery left [anywhere from 45-25% left] and that is usually 16-20 hours. I am not a HEAVY user but i use it a lot for emails.
I don't have any hard facts but the amount of battery saved with having a color background on a boot animation vs a black one HAS to be miniscule. I would even wage to argue it is unmeasurable.
But to answer your question anyway:

Agreed, The sensor is 100% better in 6.1 but some times i loose my network and have to toggle airplane mode. Which is way more annoying than the prox sensor. i was debating on going back to 6 as well.

My battery seems to drain pretty fast sometimes, so every little bit helps.
Also, battery is not the only concern. I like to have a black-based boot animation for when I boot my phone at night, I do not want it screaming at my eyes. I downloaded some animations from your link, not sure if they are compatible though, I haven't gotten around to installing/inspecting the contents of them yet.
