Anyone using the new OTA notice any significant difference in the camera?
I know there was a whole new APK and libs for it, so it should be different. I just want to know without flashing
Devs are currently going through the new RUU that was just released a few hours ago . They are still sorting through the changes in the Development section . Information at this time is still limited but bare with them . Im sure they will find good stuff in them if there is anything good put into it . Now if they do something about the charging bug / battery issue *Ducks behind couch to avoid incoming objects*
What charging bug and battery issue are u talking abt?

The charging bug is when you charge your phone over night and unplug it drops to 95% or 90% right off the bat . Or the fact the phone doesnt charge extended batteries very well . NOW back on track LOL the OTA .

This isn't a bug but how the battery is designed to charge so the battery lasts longer. Been this way since the evo came out.

I just loaded this up to test the kernel power draw and man is it low. I'm talking about almost half of CM6 with Snap 7.5 which was already by far the best. I don't know if I'm reading the log wrong but it's only drawing 30 mA @ idle - Snap 7.5 is low 50's. This ROM/Kernel should have crazy battery life.
Maybe I'm a little tired but after taking 15-20 low light pics something seems much improved. Focusing is fast, and the flash doesn't blow out the picture or look like an 80s polaroid anymore.
Again, this could just be in my mind, I'll try to compare to some old pics and post the conclusion.
@creyc: I think you are right. The "nuclear blast" flash in low light seems under control. Also focused very quickly.
@Award Tour: How do you measure the drain?

Alright, I just did this. I will report back on whether or not this is a permanent solution to the battery issue after I kill my phone, and try to re-charge it.
***EDIT***
Since I have stopped charging my phone, I have been playing Osmos HD on full brightness, and my phone has stalled, and rebooted, thrice. I don't know if this is battery heat related, or ROM related. :/

Can any one report back about the the results of charge and discharge max percentage cos for me getting 100% is no problem but on next charge % starts to drop and phone says charged on 95+%

Alright, I'm on Phase II of the test..."The Re-Charge"
I did what the instructions said, and I had my battery at 100%, which I then killed to ~1% until it shut off. The phone is now turned off, and charging.
In the past, when I would charge it to get it to show 100%, and dis-charge so that it would shut off, it would never fully charge to show 100%; it would stop at 90% when the phone was off, and between 90-95% when the phone was on. We'll see if this is a permanent fix in a few hours when we commence Phase III..."Profit."

I believe battery power used while in CWM is not reported and when you boot up battery stats get messed up. You can clearly see it when you spend a lot of time in recovery then reboot and check battery stats. You will see a black line running down your stats. Trust me, this is why everyone's battery stats are not in calibration.

Dude, never kill your phone! Get it down to 1% at the most, but don't let it die! This is another reason why stats are getting corrupted. If the status bar read 100% and your voltage is 4200mV you are calibrated!

I don't see how the instructions in my thread are any more tedious or not working than yours, since the steps in my tutorial written over 4 months ago (steps 5 through 11) are exactly the same as in your tutorial.

Frankly, I don't care which instructions people follow as long as it gets their problems fixed. But there was no reason for yet another battery life thread.
I didn't invent these steps. This was a common knowledge posted by many different people in many threads before.

You really don't need to spam this into every single development thread, it isn't anything new. This method was posted in the "How to fix your battery life" thread that was originally posted about in Nov/Dec.
You should note that this 'solution' only works until you run the battery low. People who have this issue often have their battery drop 3-10% very quickly when their battery gets low (for me its at about 30-35%). The battery will then only charge to 100% minus the percent that the battery dropped very quickly when you ran it low. Deletion of the files listed in your original post needs to be done again to re-fix the problem.
So yes, this works, though its a bandaid, not a solution, and it doesn't need to be posted in every dev thread. Just ask KennPenn for a sticky.

I was actually more trying to point out that the solution is temporary, and that a link to this post wasn't needed in CM9, Recovery, and Stock ROM threads - Not that this band-aid has been already posted.
On topic -
This does work, until you run your battery very low / dead, then the "fix" needs to be applied again.
Example -
For me, my battery will show that it is charged to 100% until I have a day where it drops to 30-35%. What happens there is that the battery will suddenly "lose" 2-10% charge instantly. Obviously the battery isn't actually draining by that much, its just how the software sees it. Anyway, at the next charge the phone will only go to whatever 100 minus how far the battery instantly drained. So if I was at 33% and it dropped to 26%, on the next charge it won't go past 93%. At that point I need to re-apply this band-aid.
There was a script floating around here somewhere, I believe it was in the neutrino thread a few months ago, but I can no longer find it. You could just run the script and it would remove the files listed in the OP, then you could reboot the phone and it would be okay. I'll search for that script later - its time for me to go kayaking.
