I'm in an aLoft hotel with my KF, and it reboots within 10 seconds or less if I don't login to the hotel's captive portal or turn off wifi. Has anyone else run into this?

So I have noticed that as of late, when connecting to some access points, my xoom takes an excessivly long time scanning and authenticating the network, and will not connect. Other times it will connect in the correct fashion. I have verified pass code and IP settings. Anyone have advice?

I have seen the same thing on exactly one other wifi hotspot, while traveling. I thought it might be something in the way that the AP was configured due to the fact that my 1.6 phone would not connect either while my wife's Win7 netbook connected immediately. I thought that they must not ike Android.
Its possible the routers were out of IPs to assign. A common problem I find in hotels is that they set really long, or indefinate lease times and people come and go and they run out of IPs to assign.

I think you may be on to it there.... the times I notice odd behavior is when a significant number of devices are connected...

Has anyone had their unrooted x not be able to connect to their home network via wireless. All my other devices connect but my x shows a blue wireless connection bit everytime I try to go on the web out says unable to connect. It connects at other places most times.
Thanks
Brett

Mine will drop in and out at home, but normally no other place. The odd thing is that no other devices drop out at my home, just the Droid X

I know this is something you have already thought of but is your wifi passworded and have you added the password correctly

You might check your router to see if you have access control enabled. I have frequently found that to be the cause when a new item refuses to otherwise connect. First check login, password, then the router permissions. Be sure to recycle your router if changes are made.
Just got an HTC Rezound and was just wondering if I could tether my Kindle Fire with my phone and use it's 4G connection when I'm not at home or near WIFI? I apologize if this has been covered but I couldn't find any updated threads on this.
If I'm able to can someone please tell me a working tether application that I can use and how to use it properly. I haven't tethered since my OG.
Thanks everyone.
if your phone is able to operate as hotspot then you need nothing at the kf
i'm using zt-180 adhoc switcher from the market to tether with pc (connectify)
this has also been reported to work with phones which only support adhoc mode

Yes, my Rezound has a hotspot app if that is what you mean, its the official Verizon mobile hotspot app? It came preinstalled on the phone. Verizon charges to use the app though.
I was just curious if I could install an app on my phone and kindle fire so my kindle fire could use the 4G from my phone to access the internet, etc.? So if I'm in a car I can just turn my phone on and my KF will have internet. How do I do that with the app your talking about?
If you want to use Mobil hotspots from Verizon that will work but it will cost you monthly to use. If you don't want to spend any lotr than you have to, you will need to root your phone and install Wireless Tether from Google marketplace and you should be fine.

Haven't you asked this same question like 10 times over the last few weeks?? I know I've already answered it twice.

I have a Nexus 7 Tablet, purchased yesterday, an Asus NT56U dual band router. The connection drops every two minutes and shows out of range. No problems on other devices.
I have tried assigning the static IP - didn't help
Security is already set to WPA2-AES - didn't help
Rebooted router multiple time - no luck
Tried loads of different WiFi channels - no luck either
MAC address filtering is not turned on either.
I looked through this and tried everything(as above): http://code.google.com/p/android/is...s Owner Summary Stars&groupby=&sort=&id=35496
but no luck.
Help!
Anyone?

looks like i have similar issues.
it connects and i get an IP but no data. it worked one day but now dead.
my Asus NT56U is using latest firmware. all other devices connected to my AP are working fine.
EDIT: its working again after disabling wifi and going in fly mode on my N7 then power off for 2 min. - power on and retry.

FYI I fixed this. Set the beacon interval on your router to 100 and boom all problems solved.

Hi. I'm using my N7 with an RT-N56U without problem but I'm running old firmware (v1.0.1.8d). The beacon in this firmware is set at 100 by default. Cheers - Y
So I just rooted my nook color last night and I now can't connect with my mifi. Not that it's not connecting Im actually not being given the chance after I enter my password to be allowed to connect. The button acts like I still haven't entered anything in yet. I connected fine to this exact mid I before I rooted and whats weirder is I was able to connect to my home WiFi and enter a password in fine last night. I was really hoping to use this as a car headset but if I can't connect to the mifi there's no point. W
