How do you get rid of the Oxford Dictionary on the Fire? I tried deleting it off my Amazon Account online but that doesn't do the trick.

Ok, I am starting to get frustrated now with my Fire. Got a Kindle Fire for Christmas and have been loading apps from the amazon market. Those work well. I have not rooted this Fire. I want to be able to use several apps like Google Talk, a calendar, Swift Key, and a few more. I cannot download google talk, so am trying to use it from the web. I can send text messages from the Fire using GTalk, but do not receive any back on the Kindle. My google calendar will not sync with any type calendar, I use Jorte, or just my google desktop calendar on my phone. Seems some apps I can sideload and others just don't work. What am I doing wrong here?

I think in order to use any google services the GoogleFramwork has to be installed. This posted: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889 I believe is for a utility that can root (require to install googleframework), install google frameowrk and market, and even instal TWRP so you can flash custom roms and so on....
I'd like to be able to highlight text passages and email them to myself.
It seems like the only way to do this is by highlighting text in the B&N reader, then pressing share. (and linking my gmail account)
However, the rooted NST can't do this (the field is greyed out).
can anybody tell me if this is a known issue with rooted NST? Do any of you have a way around it? I tried using cool reader, but the dictionary feature is way less slick than the B&N reader.
B&N sucks. I finally figured out that they disable emailing text from books not purchased from B&N. seriously? so stupid
Got my TF300 today, downloaded a couple of my usual apps (Draw Something, Scramble with Friends, Words with Friends). I tried launching them, tried to sign in through Facebook in the apps. It keeps directing me to Indonesian facebook (I have language set to English United States). Going to facebook with browser brings me to English facebook website. I have the same versions of the games on my HTC Flyer and they are English. Any idea what's going on?
reset it and start from scratch?
I thought about doing that but I had already done the root, ota update, re root and populated my tablet with my usual apps.. not that big of a problem, I guess..
Try morelocale from the market and set the locale to where you are.
Thanks for the suggestion but morelocale didn't do anything to fix the problem :\
May be a shot in the dark, but are you connecting to the internet through a VPN/proxy that's located out in or near Indonesia?
Not at all. Router (purchased in USA) is on default DNS too.
I live in Sweden and get directed to the Norwegian facebook sign-in site.
Tried a factory reset and a downgrade then re update and still the same.
how do I re register with barnes and noble using the deviceregistrator app that was installed during the rooting?
edit:
I got it working. mods can feel free to delete or lock this thread.

I lost my B&N account details from my rooted Nook (one tweak too many, methinks) and used the DeviceRegistrator app to re-register. So far, so good but now my shop and prices are in US dollars and I can't purchase because my Nook account doesn't have a US billing address.
Is the DeviceRegistrator a B&N app or a root-specific one? I've read conflicting posts.
Although my Nook Touch is registered to my account, I think it is connecting to the wrong B&N cloud. Does anybody know if I can use Device Registrator to connect to the UK cloud? I don't think I can actually type in the servlet URL manually in the Pref URL Options field.

Can anybody post a version of the DeviceRegistrator app from a UK Nook? I'd like to replace my current version to see if I can de-register/re-register and be able to buy books from the UK store again.
Shop changed to US from UK

Hi
Can you tell me how you got this working? My shop stopped working completely after rooting and when I used Device Registrator it has now changed to US! How can I change back without resorting default settings?
Thanks.
Does anybody at least know what is the uk store URL ? There must be some system file, where it can be typed manually
I have got the problem that Voice typing in Gboard and on YoutubeKids is not working on the Fire HD 10 and Fire 7 (2019) (not rooted or unlocked). I could enable Google Assisant and Google Voice Search but Voice Input with Gboard and Youtoube Kids does not work! I can see Voice picking up but no processing.
With the HowTos here I could manage to get the Goggle Assistant running but that did not fix this issue.
After enabling Google Voice Input in the Settings a messages appears "Note: After a reboot, this app can't open until you unlock your Fire."
How do I fix this problem?

You can reset your Fire tablet (before you reset, you have to backup your important files) and pass Amazon account registration to prevent from dangerous things like virus, malware, spyware, and ransomware.
You can use NoRoot Firewall app to prevent updating your Fire tablet. OTA updates is not came with a security updates.

Have a similar issue
On my two HD 8- 2018s the voice search works everywhere EXCEPT in youtube kids which is where I really need it for my little ones! I tried a factory reset today, but didn't see to bypass the amazon registration in time, so I just unregistered it as soon as I was online. I am still having the issue too and am curious to see what people suggest.

To bypass Amazon account registration by entering an invalid email address and password.
Don't register your Fire tablet with your Amazon account. You can cause a malware, spyware, ransomware, and other dangerous things (i.e. steal.
Install Malwarebytes on your Fire tablet:
