alright, before I get blasted... I did search, I know it's a personal preference, etc etc... I just had some more specific questions and didn't want to whore anyone else's thread, or bump one back from extinction... so, that being said:
I'm still on 2.2.1, wanted to upgrade to Gingerbread, but since I've already got s-off (sh root.sh way) and flashed the new radio, I was just wondering what other sense based ROM's you guys would suggest. I like the look and functionality of stock, so I want to stay relatively close to that, and the apps I MUST have are gmail, exchange email, and wifi calling (I know they don't work on some ROMs) I'm admittedly a friggin noob when it comes to this stuff... I've managed to get this far w/our bricking my phone, but I've never flashed a ROM... done my homework, played with hboot/bootloader, ROM manager, etc... if you guys could aim me in the right direction, it'd be much appreciated.

Imo i would not recommend Sense 3.5 for you at this time because of the remaining bugs that have not been ironed out. Stick with a stock type rom or CM7.1.0. If you feel daring than you should explore some more, but if you just want to get your feet wet i would suggest flashing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15870132&postcount=1
Its a great rom with very few problems, its got some tweaks and some bloat removed.
You'll have to search for it, but it's on this forum somewhere.
There's a stock 2.3.4 for rooted phones. From what I understand it's the t-mobile OTA update with root permissions and with the engineering boatloader. The thread about it will tell you more.
But if you like the stock ROM, you can definitely keep it and your root permissions when upgrading to 2.3.4.
thanks for the help... sounds exactly like what I was looking for... I'll DL it when I get home and give it a shot... already flashed CWM recovery, working on installing the drivers/ADB right now... we'll see

I came across it last night... it was someone's deodexed w/e version of the one Football posted... I got hung up (probably because I was flashing the new radio at the same time) where it said something about rename it to PD15IMG.zip or something and then hboot... not sure what happened, but my phone still worked after giving it a few shots, but nothing changed, so I called it a night... lol
what about Virtuous Unity? looks awesome from what i can see... also, since I already flashed the new radio, if I do a wipe and flash Unity, do I have to re-flash the radio? that's where I get hung up "flashing a rom"... I've read and re-read the how-to's and such, but I'm not doing it as I'm reading, so it's kinda going right over my head... I have to wait until later to install ADB, and make sure I can boot into recovery, so... I'm just kind of researching in the meantime

Flashing a rom in recovery will not change the radio. If you ever want to change the radio, you must go into hboot with a pd15img radio image.
Virtuous Unity is a great rom, latest version is 2.39 and should be available on their website. Its Sense 3.0 as opposed to mysense which is what tmobile has stuck on the glacier.

I agree, VU is probably the best option for a Sense 3.0 rom. Youll have fun for days playing with your phone after flashing it, just a big jump from Sense 2.1/MySense.
also just a reminder, if you ever want to go back to stock (unroot for any purposes), youll have to revert back to the stock radio that came on the phone before unrooting. trust me, itll save you some time and un-needed pain good to see that youre making an effort on reading everything on the forums, not a lot of ppl do that
lol, I've had my phone since they dropped last November... visionary temproot/one click rooted it shortly after... finally got back on here when I failed the OTA update, and thought why not... did the easy way s-off last night, and figured I'd give it a whirl...
I rooted a Nook color, added android market, etc for my g/f, and now you can buy the damn things that way... that's about the extent of my experience... lol
I've run this for 5 days or so after cleaning off what I didn't want with Titanium and it's been pretty nice.

Make sure you backup your rom before applying a theme, cause not all themes work well, check the version also as some are for different releases.
Make sure you ONLY wipe dalvik and cache if you are applying a theme, you dont want to wipe the rom and then theme a non existant rom lol.
lol, yeah I read that... I kinda like the themes that VU came with, so I might leave it alone for now
only thing I want to change is maybe the battery up in the status bar, w/the 100% in the battery itself... found the mod, just gotta flash it... do I need to wipe anything before flashing just the battery MOD?

You might also want to try MIUI Darkside and CM 7.1 or even 7.2. Between Unity and those two, you will have a good idea of some of the different flavored ROMs out there. Any of the top rated ROMs on the resource bible are pretty stable IMHO ... Have fun ...

This ROM included both the "old" app2sd and the new froyo native app2sd.
The froyo native app2sd means that apps which support it will be installed to the main partition of the SD card (under .android_secure). Currently very few apps support it. You can move apps manually to the SD, but it is not recommend as this can cause problems, especially with programs with widgets and such.

I hope you don't mind a suggestion: For newbs or those who haven't followed the progress of using Froyo with a partitioned SD card, you might want to mention the requirement specifically and maybe give a link to Conap's instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811548. I know people will still miss the link if it's in the first post, but at least then you can tell them they missed it.

yea it works , thats why i put it in the op need to go to setings ,, cm settings, user interface, notifications
Hey guys, over the course of using my captivate there have been a few things I've come to appreciate but it seems I haven't found a rom yet to offer them all. One thing I like is touchwiz. I love the lockscreen and the brightness adjustment on the notification bar most. Next would be the android keyboard, I'm always hitting the damn period button on the samsung one... I also like having a battery with the percentage displayed. Backlight notification is useful too and lastly I like having an automatically alphabetized launcher like the stock touchwiz launcher. Oh and HSUPA is a must, obviously.
So I started with Tayutama's Rom. I then added the stock android keyboard and replaced the launcher with adw launcher because for the life of me I could not find a way to automatically alphabetize the launcher apps with Tayutama's launcher. Plus I just think adw looks cleaner. I also replaced the kernel with Setiron's optimized kernel, threw in setCPU, voltage control and BLN apps to control some of the kernel's features and lastly I replaced the JPM modem with JG8.
You may be wondering why I chose JG8 for the modem. Well read here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=816271
That explains how starting on JG8 produces a more reliable 850 band connection. I recommend flashing JPM or JPP over this modem after installation of the rom.
As for benches, I'm seeing about 17Mflops and 1900 Quadrant with advanced jfs lagfix.
So this rom pretty much gives me everything I've enjoyed in different roms but now in one. I didn't do any real work here, I just threw the things together into an update.zip. So if you wish to say thank you, say thank you to the real developers and donate to them.
Here's the link:
http://www.multiupload.com/LGYWA92SYW
To install simply reboot into clockwork recovery, install from zip and upon reboot enter clockwork recovery again and select your lagfix. Flashing back to stock and master clearing is always a good idea too.
I've been testing it for three days now and not a single problem or force close but I am not responsible for anything this may do to your phone, use at your own risk. That being said, enjoy!

NOTE ABOUT BATTERY LIFE: Make sure to recalibrate your battery. After recalibration I'm getting great results as seen in the screenshot above
As of right now I've been unplugged for 17hrs 42m and I'm at 75% battery with I guess what you'd call light to moderate usage, a run or two of quadrant/linpack/gps test, two half hour phone calls, some browsing of the web/market, steady texting and some showing off of my phone to friends by flying through apps like it's nothing
This is with the JPP modem by the way and with a 50/25 undervolt.

Make sure you put it in the 'phone' section.

No unfortunately, When I made this the kernel was only at 1.1
I have some class and homework today but when I find time I'll update the kernel and put in the right keyboard into the update.zip
Until then, you'll just have to use clockwork recovery once more to update the kernel.

It's a good combo isn't it? I find it "feels" faster then the Doc/Setiron combo even though that has a newer froyo. Odd, maybe It's just my perception that's off.

Tayu's been working on his rom project and I haven't seen any update about a theme so if you could do that I'd be your test dummy
My combo that I love is Tayu's black UI with a green blackbar evo4g look and a specific batterymod.
LuckyX2 what tools did you use and/or tutorials for doing all this stuff? I'm finding myself geeking out with Linux a lot more and even made it my host OS on my laptop.

I've been doing the Setiron kernel with the config tweaks (i/o scheduler, vm kernel optimization, etc...) and it's much faster than when I was on JPM. The lagginess and hesitation has been greatly reduced. I'm also running the lagfix with Advanced frs-free w/ext4 partitions and the only i/o hangup i get is when I install apps and even that has been greatly reduced.

To be honest, I just kinda took a guess at how to do this and what do you know; when I flashed it to my phone it worked! I basically took Tayutama's Rom, unzipped it, replaced and added files and then zipped it back up. I don't know if you've ever looked inside an update.zip file but there's a folder inside if you unzip it called META-INF that has a script in it telling the phone where to put what. So I figured as long as I'm not putting anything anywhere that the script for Tayutama's rom isn't, then I should be ok to just use that script. Now I'm assuming that if I used a script from some update.zip that just updated the kernel then no matter what other files I may put in it would only copy over the kernel when installed. As for making your own update script, I don't know. I'm sure that requires some sdk knowledge of which I'm no help.
So here's an example: When I go to update this with the right keyboard and Setiron 1.1.1, all I will do is unzip the current one, replace the 1.1 kernel files with the 1.1.1 files, delete the current android keyboard apk and paste the LatinImeGoogle.apk in the same folder where I deleted the android keyboard apk and then zip it back up. Get it?
Maybe one of the pros can chime in but I think my logic is ok here. I mean it worked and all...

Sorry I missed your question earlier. Yes you can use odin but for those who find update.zip's easier you can use the update.zip provided on Setiron's thread which has the kernel and the modem. You don't need to flash the kernel but all it's doing is flashing the kernel over the same kernel so nothing changes. You'd really just be using the update.zip to copy over the modem.
I tried that and only copied over images and yet I was getting FC's on some of my main processes. I never touched the .xml files or messed around with anything. The only thing I can think of is that Tayu and those guys zipalign their apks so I'm debating trying out this apk manager they use.

The first time I put this together acore was fc'ing like crazy but the second time it worked. Go figure huh? The only thing I can think of that may have had an effect was there was a file in Setiron's kernel update.zip called NOTICE which I copied over the second time but not the first. I'm not too sure though.
Again, maybe a pro could chime in on the correct way.
:] saw the update to 1.1.1 downloading now!
lol i know you just uploaded it right now.. or something buh.. don't forget to update the thread title!
When will the download link be back up and working? I'm curious about how this rom runs.

Can anyone currently using this provide any information on how that battery life is faring? Worse/same/better than stock 2.1 or 2.2?
Also, I'm still a noob when it comes to this stuff...I have no problem installing ROMs and whatnot, but when it comes to altering them in small ways, I usually try not to mess with it so...does this come with Swype functional? Thanks

Yep swype is included.
As for battery life, I was getting great battery life last night while still on the JG8 modem. Then I flashed JPP, charged overnight and now it seems to be draining faster. It's been 4hrs 32min since unplugged and I'm down at 66%. I did just get off of an hour long phone call though, so that hit it pretty hard. I'm going to charge it fully and do a recalibration of the battery to see if it's actually draining as quickly as it says.

Thanks for the info! Could you please explain (or point me in the direction of an explanation) as to what JPM and JPP means/does? I've gathered that they're names of modems, but as far as which one is better or what the differences are, I can't really tell...
I think the battery drain is just picky whenever we flash.. I think recalib is necessary every time we do a kernel flash or something.. :/
It sucks cause if we flash alot and do recalib alot lol our battery would suck
LuckyX2 said:

You're on the right track. I just skip a step and use 7zip to edit the .zip in place. I have my own custom version of all this mashed together as well. I may upload it at some point even.
Here is what happens when you take a stock rooted 2.3.2 with unlocked bootloader Verizon Xperia Play and then fastboot the system.sin file from the generic UK 3.0.1.A.0.145 file. Then fastboot DoomLord's v3 Kernel. Finally flash Chevy's FTS v05 v2 CDMA patch which is just an updated Semcphone.apk. You get a fully functional CDMA phone with Timescape. Everything works: messaging, email, 3G, navigation, wifi, phone, contacts. 2 exceptions: multimedia messaging doesn't work and camera is very, very slow. Edit: I also get the incoming call glitch that was evident on FTS v05 ROM which must be related to the updated semcphone.apk.

EDIT: Here is a zip file to install using CW recovery. It has working mms utilizing the stock Mms.apk. It already includes the CDMA patch for the phone so do not flash the CDMA patch after installing this or mms sending will not work. Many thanks to zerojay. I am using some of his extras features from his zerorom and also using his update script.

I wouldn't mind testing out timescape ui. I may just have to try this out. Thank you.
I am running 2.3.3 with riit and unlocked bootloader, you think I will have any issues trying this? Is the uk rim 2.3.3?
Sent from my R800x using xda premium
You shouldn't have any problems except the ones I stated above. This is the UK 2.3.3. I was just wanting to try out the Timescape UI and will play with it this week. I am uploading the system.sin file now which you will fastboot and will add link to my dropbox. I am also uploading the CDMA patch which you flash from zip in CW recovery after everything else is done.
Here is the system.sin file. Unzip and fastboot: fastboot flash system systemUK.sin
http://db.tt/l71ioI2h
Here is the CDMA patch zip. Copy to SD card and install zip through CW recovery from DoomLord's Kernel.
http://db.tt/HOi4V4by
Downloading the attached files now. Thank you 007. I will post my results and if I see any other issues I will alos post those. Maybe we can try and make a perfect 100% working Timescape UI Sys file for R800X users who are interestd in trying this out. The timescape looks awesome.
Would it be possible to just flash the SEMCphone.apk from the R800x system folder zip that and flash that to the phones through recovery? Tha way we have a working phone (meaning the sliders to accept/rejet are lined up right)
Just a thought
Is DoomKernels kernel in the systemUK.sin file? When I flashed it it said flashing bootloader..... odd. I will just reflash DoomKernels kernel. Just wondering

Seems to be running awesome. Loving the UI. I am restoring my apps now. I may just copy over the semcphone.apk with the one from my Verizon stock rom and see what happens. So far I like it a helluva lot better then hte vanilla, even though I up till now hated UIs and prefered vanilla. MY friend loves Sense roms and says he is jealous with how cool Timescape is. Kudos big time 007shark.
Thanks a lot for this, 007shark. My phone looks more attractive now. I'm really liking the timescape widgets.

Sorry for the double post but I thought it might be worth mentioning.
It seems the camera is fully functional if you keep the stock kernel. Also my phone is louder with the stock kernel since I noticed the DoomLord v3 kernel had low volume, at least for me. I also receive MMS but it seems that I can't send. It's stuck at "Sending".

Finally us R800x users get what we deserve
I loaded this systemuk.sin and chevy patch on my r800x and so far I really like it! Even tethering works. Thanks!!
I was thinking I could just install any Verizon apps I want from the link in this first post of this thread "all original apks":
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201725.
I really dont miss any VZW apps yet. I also flashed Doom Kernel and it works too.
I cant find any major problems except for the MMS. That is a bummer though. Is there anything we can do to fix this???
I have been looking into the MMS problem. I will have to decompile the stock messaging apk and the conversations apk on the uk firmware to see if the 2 could be married. I also just updated my stock 2.3.2 to 2.3.3. I am going to try this firmware with the new verizon 2.3.3 kernel to see what happens.
EDIT: my first attempt with this on the new stock 2.3.3 kernel results in the touchscreen not responding.
2nd try - I pulled battery, reinserted, and rebooted phone. Everything works as it does with stock 2.3.2 kernel although you don't get the benefits of being able to overclock or tether, but the volume does seem louder and the camera is fully functional.
I flashed DoomKernel to my phone when I flashed the UK rom and also the CDMA patch and I get Timescape with a overclocking and clockwork recovery. Really liking it. If you dont want the timescape yoiu can install another launcher ( I used GO) and then make that your default launcher, go into /system/app folder and delete all files pertaining to Timescape, reboot and you are set. A working 2.3.3 UK rom with Verizon bands and OC, with Recovery. I set my phone to 1.2ghz and use xCharge to reboot or enter recovery. Although with DoomKernel installed you just press the back button a few times on boot up to access the custom recovery.
Yes! I also used 2.3.2, then 2.3.3 system.img, Doom kernal, and go launcher. This is by far the fastest rom I have yet to test on my device.
Perhaps I did something wrong but I dont get good performance out of the newest CM7 so I restored back to this.
Even love that clear sms.
I do have a wish list for this rom. Just thought I would write them out in case anyone had helpful ideas...
-Working MMS - only flaw
-How to remove the first slider lock screen so I can pattern unlock
-Working delvik cache move please!! - I need space and cant get it to work. I tried several cw .zip and manual process.
-Safe app removal for this rom would be sweet
-Camera - faster shutter?
Anyhow this is still my rom of choice so far on my unlocked Verizon r800x! Thank you
There is a working dalvik cache hack for the r800x. Forgot the link, just google xda r800x dalvik hack and it comes up.

This looks pretty cool! Did anyone figure out the slow camera and the multimedia msg'ing and the lower volume problems?
Not sure if anyone is still messing with this.
Does anyone know if there is a way to pull the timescape settings menu and add to stock rom? I cant seem to get the timescape background only the settings icons change.
If theres a thread on timescape could someone point me in the right direction, I dont wanna double post
hey guys, I just wanted to share what I did with this. I pulled the 2.3.3 kernel from the Rogers branded tft file and flashed that to run with the UK firmware. Everything works. Camera works perfectly, wifi, etc. the only thing that appears to not be working is sending mms.

I am on page with you and thought about trying to rebuild the stock with additions from the 4.0.A.2.368 UK. There is more involved than just pulling the apks though. The framework-res needs modified and adding the SemcGenericUXP framework. There is alot of work involved which I believe the easier way is to just work out the bugs.
Unfortunately, there are not alot of CDMA devs with Sony Ericcson devices. I am a novice, but learning quickly. I am currently working on getting mms working. I have an idea for it. I am also looking into the options for adding in features like Bravia Engine and xLoud to give the features of the newer roms and also modifying DoomLord's older kernel for this firmware with his newer features from his 4.0.A.2.368 kernel. When this all happens this will move to the Development section.

Cool glad to know Im not a noob alone around here !
If I can give you a hand maybe we could work on it together. Im new to Xperia Play but im familiar with framework changing/changes and stuff, I just dont know where to start on mms an camera though.
But after flashing the method on your OP then I felt sorta ripped off by r800x when these UK firmwares seem to have a much nicer UI and it looks like a more classy phone, vs Verizons pretty much basic firmware. It shipped with 2.3.2 and looks like Android 2.0 from my super old droid.
Let me know if I can give u a hand.

Did you flash DoomKernel V3 or V4 because his V4 kernel with FW4.0.A.2.368 broke my physical buttons aswell. V4 is for a newer firmware 4.0.1.A.283 and above , for FW4.0.A.2.368 use Doom kernel V3.

Hello,
Wish you and your family a very Happy New Year!
You may know that I have already published ElegantPerformer on Xda. You can check it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709879.
Now I am going to introduce it's 2nd version. In looks, both are identical but you can feel the difference while handling. I have used a lot of ROMs from here and I really loved each of them, but mostly I found my phone buggy after using them for more than a week. I actually stopped working on ROM due to my exams but I have to make one for myself. Which must be stable, fast without OC, smooth like butter and beautiful. So I am introducing another version of my work ElegantPerformer V2 by Adwait.

Few words from me:
I tried my best to keep the ROM away from bugs. Only one thing you may need to do is updating superuser binary. It will update by itself, just allow it to do so.I hope you like this ROM. Those who are already satisfied with your current ROM, just make a backup of the current ROM and then TRY this ROM. I am sure you will love this! Let me know if you find any trouble using it. If you like this ROM just press "Thanks" this will tell me how many of you loved this ROM.
You can also make this banner as your Signature. Here is the code:

Dude, when you release a different version of the SAME rom it HAS TO BE ON THE SAME THREAD.
Otherwise the Ace Development Forums would be filled with a trillion different threads.

Hey dude, It's look wise same But if the main source is itself changed then I think starting new thread is best choice. I know the rules but my 1st version was based on vo-1's odexed and this one is based on CM7.2's original nightly published on 1/1/2013. So I have to make a new thread! And I think I should! what say?
Edit: And also the Fire Kernel used in this ROM is OC. In v1 it was not an OC.
Did ur rom supports Tamil language? This version is deodexed?

Nope.
It should still be an update to the other thread.
As long as your rom has the same name you cant create a new thread. Be it a change in kernel or base rom itself

Is that mandatory? I never used it. And to keep this ROM lightweight I have to skip additions which can be added later. I am glad you would like to try this ROM. I will wait to get feedback from your side!

Of course you don't HAVE to use AdrenalineEngine, I just never had the feeling that it would do any damage to integrate it
1) On first boot I could not enter my PIN, all I could do was take out the battery and restart.
2) With every restart I get an error-message, something about bluetooth (I don't know if this important, I don't think it has any effect on the rest of the phone)
3) Whenever I want to go into the synchronisation-settings (I hope thats what its called in english) the phone reboots. (I think this might be a CM 7.2 Nightly error, and not your fault )
For now I have the feeling that it runs very smooth, and I like the way it looks.
Will test it for a few more days and maybe stick to it

Hello,
Did you cleared cache, dlavik cache 1st? After your reply I am going to test my ROM again but the errors you mentioned are completly new! They shouldn't be there. And I flashed my ROM almost 6 times during testing. So please make sure you have CWM5 or more, all data wiped, cache wiped, dalvik cache wiped!
Edit:
I just successfully flashed ROM. No error message about Bluetooth or anything found! Safely navigated through each part of settings without any reboot. USB tethering also works fine!
So I strongly recommend you to follow these steps:
Boot in recovery CWM 5
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache
Advanced>>Wipe dalvik cache
Choose 'Install zip from sd card'
Choose the file 'ElegantPerformer_V2_By_Adwait.zip '
Of course, CWM5 and did exactly as you said in your first post. Never had these problems before, but since your ROM is based on such a new version of CM7, I think it might be because of that. But I don't know, I'm not a developer or anything

Just do a full wipe and flash the rom then flash gapps
This is my first build, and I worked very hard on it, so I look forward to your input, thanks.
I am also working on building a CM 10.2 Android 4.3 a500 rom to and will upload that once it is tested.

Well, I tried to flash your ROM buy it said zip was invalid. After that I tried to restore my backup and reflash the tablet, but I'm still stuck at Booting Primary Kernel :/

hmm, thats strange, I flashed the same file and am still running it with no problems, did you do a full wipe first? I will double check the uploaded file against the md5sum file and test it again, keep me updated.

I double checked the file I uploaded to 4Shared and it checked out, I dont know what could have gone wrong for you, maybe the file was not completely dowloaded, or somehow it got changed after you downloaded it, or while transfering it to your sdcard.. which recovery are you using? I am using Thors CWM touch 1.7.3 and Skrilax_CZ v9 bootloader. if you are still having trouble, PM me and I will give you my phone # I know that I can help you get any rom you want flashed, or if you have a backup you can use that
here is the terminal output from the files md5sum check:
[email protected] ~/Downloads $ md5sum cm-10.1-20130926-UNOFFICIAL-a500.zip
920136e012b2483c1cd3e2691ebe603f cm-10.1-20130926-UNOFFICIAL-a500.zip
it perfectly matches the file I created and flashed to my tablet.

Good luck, and let me know how it goes
Thanks - Kaiji
Yeah, I know, it's not your fault. I just got the tablet going again and I'm about to download everything once more.

OK Thanks.
First.. Id like to commend your efforts. You didnt over-bloat or inflate the ROM beyond what is typically in AOSP (which is rare).
Second.. Went off without a hitch as far as I am aware its fully functional (I just banged around on it to get it setup for my wife (Im retiring my use of it).
I did notice a 'video shift' using Skrilax bootloader.. for a few seconds after I get the 'booting primary kernel' message the video goes a bit nuts but then returns to normal.
Should you ever feel cocky and choose to do a build using AOKP I would be MOST interested in the outcome... Ive been beging and pleading with them for MONTHS with no luck but it too is based from CM source code with even more tweaks and such.
Side note.. Im actually a bit saddened to see the ROMs leaning more towards a 'phone' look rather than the 'tablet' look the iconia originally had.. I got used to it and now its about useless to me. **This is no reflection on the ROM baker but rather a personal observation.

I think I have the mic figured out, but it is going to be another day before I can compile the rom again, so hopefully I can get youtube working to by then, I will post it after I recompile, so look for a post Sunday night or so.. and thanks guys for the input, I really appreciate it. As for an AOKP, I will try putting one together after I get this one totally right....
Thanks - Kaiji
I'm also going to be doing some testing for you to get this ROM rolling along.

Nice, as soon as we get a working Mic I'll flash this on my tab again for testing. And I would really appreciate it if you can also check on YouTube app since I get to use YT several times a day, but browser access for YT is good enough for now.

I recompiled and still no working mic, I have a few more ideas, but I am going away for 2 weeks and I wont be able to work on this until I return...
I have about 24 hour until I depart, and the compiling process will take about 18 hours on my setup, so if this try works I will have something for ya, but more likely I wont have this worked out until I return....
But I am going to keep on trying to get this right, and soon enough it should be all worked out
I added another build to this post. The new build is a lot stronger, and although the mic is still not working, everything else is working better and faster in this build. I know everyone else has moved on to CM 10.2 now, and I am still screwing around with this one, hehehe I just like the 10.1 build, and I am working diligently on getting an updated android kernel to run on the A500 v3.x I have made some progress in that I have had one succesful build of kernel v3.1.10 that was able to boot yay!! I managed to get the acer t20 platform drivers from the old kernel into the kernel source from the A700s t30 source.... wow that was a lot of mess too. but the kernel was really buggy and the device would not stay running, and then shut down out of the blue shortly after booting up.... I will keep on working on it, I am actually pretty new to this stuff, and just started poking around, then started to head off in my own direction, lol. But I am coming to the conclusion that I may need some help here, lol. we will see.. I hope to soon have a build to post with the newer kernel, but right now things are such a mess, it may bee a while.
But any way you will find that the second build, posted for download at the start of this thread, is a much stronger, and better build of this software. enjoy
