Stuck on "Complete action using" after installing GO Launcher. HELP!!! - Kindle Fire General

OK so i decided to change up my usual ice cream sandwhich launcher and install GO launcher. I went on the app planet market and got go launcher and i hit install.
Now whenever i unlock my kindle it says "complete action using" and then i get three choices. I get Go launcher, ICS launcher, and then the stock kindle launcher. It won't let me click any of the choices... it's frozen or something. I've restarted and everything, sometimes when i restart it just unlocks to a black screen as opposed to the complete action using one.
I've contacted amazon on the phone and they said i've voided the warranty but i tried the online chat and they said that they'd send a replacement, but I'm unsure if it's worth it if i can just fix it right now.
Thanks, and all help is appreciated.

you can fix that in many ways - the heaviest is to install twrp (recovery system) and flash a fresh stock os.
but let's leave the church in the town:
have you tried to uninstall ics launcher (and perhaps go launcher also) ?

this worked for me
hey this worked for me it was odd by try the KU
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1399889
install CM and when it loaded to the pick a home screen tap and pick amazon really fast and (and i mean tap repeatedly fast)might take a few reloads but it works i think it only worked cause the slowed every down enough to let me choose.

Reset supreme - home screen choice...

I was reseting my Epic and was presented with a surprise dialog box that allowed me to choose the non-TouchWiz home screen. It was one of those "what do you want to use to complete this action" type prompts. I don't really know what I did to get it because it doesn't happen normally. It was either that I was touching one of the soft buttons at the right time or that I unlocked the home-screen as soon as I possibly could.
I ended up with three home-screens and the pullout application drawer. Also when I touch and held on the home-screen, the Samsung widgets were not available.
I just thought I'd share.
Did you install LauncerPro or something similar? That's exactly what happens when you install a new launcher frontend and the Epic doesn't have a default home-screen.
Samsung widgets are not available on LauncherPro, but there are comparable/better ones available on the market, too.
Yea. Phone comes with just a" home". Go to settings, applications, manage applications and find twlauncher. Select clear defaults. Hit the home button and then u can select the basic launcher.

@nmezib - nope, I just did a factory reset so there was nothing nonstandard installed.
@sultan - That's it, very cool.
What your seeing there is the stock Android launcher. This is what ADW is based on. You can go and clear the cache of TouchWiz in Appmanager and it will prompt you with that dialog again.

[Q] Home button disabled... how to reset

i decided to find out what the hullabaloo about Beautiful Widgets was and bought it... and then tried their fanciful widgets and weather and stuff. Not sure if I get the deal, (I look at the sky to find out the weather and I dont need more reminders of what time it is) but anyway -- last night I got into some settings in BW and then remember something about "reboot to disable home button" or whatever and I forgot I was not rooted, so I went ahead with it. (Had i been rooted I would have done a data wipe and restore and not needed to make another XDA thread)
But now I cannot use my home button. It goes nowhere. It vibrates but thats it. Doesnt go "Home" and long press doesnt give me my last 6 apps.
I uninstalled BW (both the apk and whatever the widgets were) so now I have no more BW on the phone, and it somehow even reset my system settings so I had to set that all up over again!!!!
I had Launcherpro apk and Zeam and have uninstalled both of those and now I only have ADW launcher. I set the ADW settings to enable the home button to go to "default screen" but now it doesnt do anything.
I havent been able to use home button normally since that Beautiful Widget setting thing last night.
My next step is to go into fastboot and do a data-wipe (the stock settings for data reset doesnt really come close to what a fastboot data wipe does, I think) but then Ill have to deal with restoring a non-rooted phone and not looking forward to that without my beloved Titanium Backup.
So anyone know Beautiful Widgets inside out who can let me know how to get my home button back to normal. Otherwise its a hardware issue and I doubt it because ive been treating this phone like its the queen of england, delicate and carefully.
Im positive this was caused by a Beautiful Widget setting change...
solved
I tried everything possible.... and got so pissed about the home button not working that I did a factory reset off the SPL. That fixed it -- my home button now works.
So something in the Beautiful Widgets settings caused something to become embedded and it made my home button useless. Im 99.9% sure of that -- .01% would go towards "hardware malfunction".
careful in those BW settings. nice widgets, but horrible batt-drain. Too Sense-i for me.
Did you try resetting the default app settings for Beautiful Widgets or the built-in launcher? Menu -> Applications -> Beautiful Widgets -> Reset Defaults.

Home Not Working? WTF...

Ever since the latest update 9.2.1.21, shortly afterwards my Home is no longer working. The recent apps and back works fine but something's wrong with the stock launcher. Stock ICS 4.0.3 and rooted.
Anyone else having this problem? I'm really getting fed up with ICS. Honeycomb was working perfectly fine for me before. Ugh. Tried installing Go Launcher and still no go. When I press the home key, it just glows blue and does nothing. I can't leave apps to go to home. Nothing.
Backup your stuffs and try a factory reset.
I don't know. Try Home Manager or Home Switcher or one of those apps and see if they do anything for your case.
Do you have a dock? Does the hardware home button on the keyboard work?
Another possibility. Manage applications -> all apps -> select the launcher (perhaps it's called Asus launcher) and go to the uninstall/data screen. Remove the default option for launcher. The tap the home key and you should get a dialog asking you to select which launcher goes with home. Click the checkbox for default and select the launcher.

Perhaps this is one of the Android's trojan/malware/virus...etc.. ??
That sounds like a bad flash to me- try plugging your TF in the wall overnight and flash the same thing again. The 5V USB port on a computer is too weaksauce to get a real charge.

[Q] "n" Key Long Press Default

I recently rooted my Nook Color with ManualNooter 5.02.19 and everything worked like a dream.
However, I accidentally made the default long press going to the B&N normal home screen, as opposed to the Zeam Launcher. Now, once I accidentally go to any screen that isn't associated with the Zeam Launcher, I can't get back into those keys! I'm such a dummy - if I reboot, and unlock the screen, there it shows me to get to the Zeam Launcher, so I can change settings, I just don't know where to go.
It popped up where I should go to change this, but unfortunately, I didn't catch it Can anyone please advise?

No sure where it is in stock, but you need to find where your app information is in settings and clear the default for B&N launcher. Then the next time you long press, it will ask what you want to do.

Once you reboot, and are in the Zeam Launcher, go to the app "NookColor Tools" --> All Settings --> Manage applications --> All --> Zeam Launcher --> Clear defaults. The next time you press home, you can reselect the one that you want.
Can you use Home Switcher with stock? That is what I used when this same process baffled me in CM7.

Yes, Home Switcher and Home Manager work with stock rooted. Either one easily allows you to change back and forth between home launchers and set the default. I don't believe either lets you change the short/long press action. For that you usually need to go into the settings.
Also if you are running Softkeys or Button Savior you may need to go into those settings and change the default action for short/long press of home to go to where you want for each.

[Q] Loss of stock launcher "Home" after Root?

After rooting my VS980 (using the ioroot method), every time I reboot my device I loose the stock launcher. It will boot directly into Nova Launcher with no option for a different home. A quick check with root explorer shows both LGHome files present in /system/app with the proper permissions. Does anyone have a clue why this would happen?
History... before achieving root I copied over both LGHome.apk and LGHome.odex files to my /sd to have for later modding purposes using Solid Explorer. This is the only thing I can think of that would cause the issue. The only way to get the stock launcher back after each boot is to copy over the LGHome files from my /sd back to /system/app and overwrite the ones in place. Then after hitting home on the Nav bar it will ask which launcher to use and I the option to choose "Home" or Nova.
If anyone can shed some light on this for me I would appreciate it. It is getting to be a nuisance copying files over at each boot... Thanks!!
Hi,
Maybe this: first go to settings/Nova Launcher and Clear defaults. When you choose the launcher (Home button) you want, a pop up will appear asking you the default action (I mean Nova or stock launcher), don't choose "always" for Nova...
So at boot (and when pressing the Home button) you'll have the choice for the stock launcher or Nova (but not very convenient each time you press the Home button)...

I have never used Nova as the default launcher on my G2, only tried it out since it was my go-to on the GNex. I always have Nova cleared out and "Home" selected as my default launcher. I've even tried going into Nova's app settings and clearing all data and cache (no defaults were set). On reboot Nova would still load as my only option. I've thought about uninstalling Nova then rebooting to see what would happen... but I'm a little scared that I would have no interface with the UI. I do have a CWM backup though. Thanks for the reply.
Settings, application manager, menu, reset app preferences. You will have to reconfigure all defaults and disabled after.

No dice, already tried that. Thanks though.
Maybe I'm not being clear with explaining the issue. It's not about "how to" set a different default launcher, it's that the stock launcher is GONE on reboot. Like not accessible at all. The only way to get it back is to replace the LGHome apk and odex in /system/app ...per boot. But of course I loose data every time I have to do this.

This is so odd. I've never experienced anything like this in 3 yrs of rooting and modding android.

Damn weird. How though?... I.... don't understand. Some app not being very friendly? Mind blown.

Agreed. This doesn't make any since to me... Depending on how many beers I have during the MNF game tonight I may just chance it and install Nova, reboot and see what happens. I guess I could always unroot and see if that fixes it too...
Thanks guys for the suggestions but something not obvious is working at boot to mess with Home. I'll try hooking it up to adb later and watch the output to see if I can see something weird going on at boot
