Has anyone found a way to install openVPN on the aria (and get it working)? I have looked around but haven't found anything that I can get working.

I can confirm that it is working perfectly on the CM6-RC0 FroYo ROM using the "OpenVPN Settings" app from the market. I've not been able to get it installed much less working on any of the Liberated ROMs. CM6 has kernel support for openvpn and I'm wondering if that's what we need for Liberated, a modified kernel that supports openvpn.
Hey Attn1 any ideas? I bow (humbley) to the Aria ROM master...

Yep... Got it working... I was going to wait for an official Froyo ROM, but I decided to flash CM6. I also had to install OpenVPN settings to get it to install my certificates, etc. Works great! And all this was after my work tech support guy told me it wasn't possible to do VPN from my phone and that the servers would immediately kick it off the network.
Also, as a side note. CM6 is pretty cool! I don't know why I was waiting.
As far as getting it to work on 2.1 (I am a noob but did a lot of research). You need a the tun.ko driver and the OpenVPN bianary. I found the tun.ko for the aria, but couldn't get it to push through adb. I kept getting a "not enough memory" error. I've never been able to push to the system folder (yes I had root) with adb on the stock rom. Not sure why. CM6 solves that problem!
Also, installed TightVNC on my home laptop and AndroindVNC viewer on my phone (both free) and now I have remote desktop!
I wonder if I will get in Trouble for installing it on my work computer???

Can you share what tun.ko you tried for 2.1? And you can push it when in recovery mode and mount system partition.
I was able to set up OpenVPN on Cyanogenmod but like liberated better.
Thanks.

Hi,
Doesn't matter, must work on A500 and A501.
Both types does contain the same FW's also only
the A500 doesn't use the 3G bit, that's all.
CWM recovery does work but I can't flash .IMG files with it.
EDIT: I tried those sites/links but it says the app is already Installed.
I tried reinstalling but then it says it will be downloaded to my device
in a short time and then... nothing happens...
That's why I can't seem to get a hold of it.
and FYI: I tried the Virtuous Xoom v1.0.4 mod and it installed and works flawlessy on my A501.

Even the 3G? We've had a couple of folks post on here that they flashed A500 ROM's and lost their 3G capability.

THAT I haven't tried yet because I don't use the gadget.
I'll try when I receive my simcard with 3G capability.
But.... no one got the .APK file for me?
I still won't work the normal way... very frustrating.
Have been using the Silk Port on my Triumph running CM7 and was wondering if it would be possible to port the Android Browser over to the Stock Kindle Rom. I do allot of testing for mobile versions of websites for a living and would like to do this on my Kindle. I am rooted and have been able to install the other browsers on the list of browsers each site needs to be tested on but have been unable to port the Android Browser onto the Kindle, has anyone else made any attempts at doing this?

Seen this?
I'm also trying to figure out if this is possible.
Hi there,
I tried to install Firefox, after flashing ICS to my Tab. But I get an error "incompatible with your device" error.
Can somebody explain why this is happening.
Firefox was running on my 7.7 HC and it should run with ICS....?
thanks

Heh "should" is a word fraught with peril. But, yeah, it doesn't seem compatible at the moment. I don't know if editing the build.prop would be a workaround or not, however. Have you checked their mobile support site?
Anyway, I just downloaded the nightly build and it installs and seems to run fine on my ICS 7.7.
Thanks burhanistan for pointing me to the nightlies. Did know they also exist for Android.
Indeed the Nightly is running smooth
Yes you can use the nightlies, They did put out a stable ver of firefox but its only for phones right now they said they are working on a tablet verison.
Search for Aurora. That's the Firefox nightly. Quick ICS Browser is so much better IMHO.

Hey guys I have a small question about downloading from file host servers with Chrome! When I try to use Chrome to download from those kind of websites, downloads just stops and gives errors! On my galaxy s2 the same happens, but there I have the stock browser wich works perfectly! But on the nexus there isnt a stock browser, so what can I do? Its not rooted.
Does nobody download from rapidshare, fileshare, putlocker?
Bump
