I was making a call to some one and my friend tried to call me at the same time the call I was dialling got connected. I saw his name come up on call waiting but before I could do anything the dialler screen froze for 5 seconds and the went blank.
It didn't respond to the power button or ADB so I had to re-seat the battery to turn it back on. However, after the reboot my phone keeps vibrating every 10 seconds. It does that while booting up, while shutting down, while hibernated and even when it's in recovery. The only time it stops doing that is when I get in to the bootloader.
I tried wiping and switching kernels/radios/roms but none of em would make the vibration disappear. Except for the annoying vibration rest of the phone works just fine. I just had this phone for only 3 days and rooted it yesterday. This is really frustrating me, if any of you guys have any suggestions I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

Hello. First I want to thank all of you who develop roms and the like. I have had such a blast over the past month and a half customizing my phone in ways I never thought possible. Last night I ran flashaholicruu.exe on my HTC HD2 Leo. The task29 seemed to work properly, however when I attempted to flash the rom I received errors. I tried Leo_Radio_2.11.50.26.sfx, which had previously worked on my phone. It stopped at 96%. I did the recovery, however the phone now will not even boot the splash screen. It simply vibrates non-stop when I turn it on until I remove the battery. Does anyone have ANY advice at all? Am I able to load a ROM onto the SD card and directly boot from it while my phone is in this state?
I have removed the battery and reinserted it. Did not work.
I have also tried pressing the volume buttons and the power on button to get the bootloader, but just vibrates in the same manner as when I press on button.
Please help!
Thank you

Ahh. I wish. T-Mobile is giving me a hard time about replacing it because I was not the original owner of the phone. The phone is only about 3-4 months old though.
I had this happen to me.
Try to load it directly into bootloader by holding vol-down when you press power button, then flash another radio (i recommend 2.12.5) then try another ROM thru RUU.
Also, make sure your battery is place in there securely and that all 3 pins from the phone are sticking out.
I had a situation where one of the pins was sticking vertically and the battery was only hitting 2 (from doing too many battery pulls) and it did this weird vibrate splash screen boot sequence.

You'll need contact details for the original owner, but by law they have to honor the agreement they put in place with them, regardless of whether you are that person or not.
Just get back onto T-Mobile and if they say no then speak to someone higher up. I know this to be the case after selling a palm pre to someone at the beginning of the year and it died on him shortly after.

Really? This is good to know. I contacted the original owner. I feel so bad and I hope he doesn't think I am trying to scam him. I just want a working phone and I think that T-Mobile should honor that.

I think the bootloader may be gone. Does the task29 remove this? I can't get even to the bootloader using the method above (I have tried many times).

Good to know, I will try this. I do have some bent pins.
No task 29 doesn't remove the bootloader, I always use it before flashing a new ROM...

he needs to rename the .nbh file to LEOIMG.nbh and pair it with the RUU that came
with that same stock ROM
but then again, if he cant get into bootloader, the phone is definitely bricked

What exactly did you do to try and enter bootloader mode? You said you pressed the volume 'buttons' and the power button but that combination would initiate a Hard Reset and not bootloader mode..
How to get into your Bootloader
1. Turn your phone off
2. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN then Press and hold the POWER button. After about 3 seconds the tri-coloured screen should appear.
3. To exit Bootloader you need to remove your back cover and pull the battery out for a few seconds, then replace it and press the power button to reboot your phone.
If you cannot get into the bootloader with the above instructions then it looks like you have bricked your device somehow but im not sure exactly how you could do it as task29 doesnt touch HardSPL.
If you can get into bootloader then you can flash a rom back to your device using the sd card method in my guide *HERE*.
Mark.
This phone has been giving me hell for a really long time.
In short; it don't work. It will flash but will never boot right.
When I got my HD2 it had the stock WinMo 6.5.3 ROM that worked perfectly. I played with booting Android off my flash drive but got the fast audio problem. So I flashed ChuckyDroidROM, and used that for a month with some different Android builds, all worked fairly well.
But then one day, it started crashing after a while of use. Sometimes it would just not let me unlock it, and other times it completely crashes and restarts. Every time it happened earlier and earlier after booting.
So I tried Task29 and putting the stock ROM back on it, no go. It crashes right after it boots.
Now I've flashed HSPL 2.08.HSPL, Radio 2.15.50.14, and MAGLDR 1.12. I'm trying to flash WP7 to it, but since the MAGLDR menu doesn't show up, I can't flash anything.
It boots into MAGLDR, but just shows "aMAGLDR V1.12, Build: 12 2011 XX:XX:XX, by Cotulla 2011" but nothing else. The menu doesn't show up, but it did once....
Any ideas? I'm desperate. I'm about to blow it up....
EDIT: Now it won't even f**king turn on!!!! And yes the battery is FULL
I'm having an issue with my HD2 also (even though I've flashed it successfully several times) so this sounds like a very, very isolated issue. The problem I'm having - disabled phone functions in WP7 - also appears to be an isolated issue. Sometimes these things can be the result of a bad flash. Give this thread a week. You're in the right place.

When your rebooting and the splash screen shows up are you holding down the power button to gain access to magldr options?
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
Did you took out your SD card? If no, take it out, try turn it on. If you can reach the boot (means the multicolors menu) than your good to flash.
I have the feeling that might be because of damaged SD card (similar issue I had). Hope that helps.
Good luck!

Yes I am. It showed up today, and I was able to flash WP7 to the device, but now it will not boot into WP. It freezes at MAGLDR, no options.

I can flash anything I want, it just never boots, or it boots and then crashes immediately. I have tried with and without my SD card/SIM card.
Wow it seems as if your doing every thing right. My suggestion is, Re-flash the stock Rom that came with the phone, Revert back to the original radio and spl. Call your sevice provider for a replacment phone as it sounds like its defective. Thats what i would do.

Go into Bootloader Flash a Stock Rom.
Then Update the Radio
Format SD -.- but backup your Data
and try to reflash MAGLDR
After that try to reflash Wp7 it should work
New developement:
It won't turn on, period. Nothing.
The power button does nothing, the reset button does nothing, nothing works.
The battery is at 4.1V, it's rated at 3.7V, would that cause the phone to not turn on?
Maybe a hardware failure.
Any warranty?
This happens when the phone over heats dont turn it for a while and dont have it conect it to the computer or anything when u try turn it on.

im using the latest nandroid. can't find the information for that.
I've looked in a couple places for similar problems but i couldn't find something useful for my problem.
I was at a party last night and had my phone in my jeans pocket. I think its obvious that it was pretty hot and I sweat...
After the party I checked my phone and the style and wallpaper were changed. I also found that the power button didn't work anymore. Before everything had worked just perfectly.
Since I could still use my phone I tried to backup as much as possible. I also made a backup of the current rom.
Unfortunately I restored that rom, and I think that's what causes me problems now. Please don't ask me why I did it, I just wasn't thinking a whole lot.
After reboot the phone stuck in the white screen with green htc logo.
I tried to take out the battery a couple times and rebooted it, but it didn't work. The phone always starts automatically when I put the battery in. Sometimes the colors of the screen were messed up, meaning that it was all pink or some kinda "pixel curtain" was above the image.
I also started the phone in recovery (holding just vol down and inserting the battery) In recovery the phone checks the usual things but I can’t see the results of those checks. I’m pretty sure though, that they all say “No” (no clue if that’s good or not). After that I’m stuck in recovery. The vol buttons don’t work or at least I can’t move my selection and the power button, no surprise, doesn’t work either.
So that is pretty much my problem. I hope you can help me with that.
i ran the latest ruu and it succesfully got my phone back. the power button, however, still doesn't work. anybody an idea how i could fix that? or what could cause the problem?
Update:
when i connect the phone the my pc it shows: hboot usb plug.
i'm not familiar with hboot. could someone tell me what i can do to repair my phone, i guess i have to flash a new rom, using hboot?
moreover, after some time the phone changes into fastboot usb
now i can use the vol+/- buttons again but i cant select anything since the power button doesnt work. but that probably means that i can use fastboot to flash a rom right?
could somebody please explain how i can do that?
i'm also trying to use the test ruu and change the room.zip to the latest one. i founde a thread where that worked: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835595&page=3
i hope i can fix it because i doubt htc will replace my phone because of the void warranty...
Seems that this is a hardware issue.
You said you ran a RUU, right?
What does your bootloader show now? The first line is important. It should say something like ACE PVT SHIP S-ON
If this is the case, you should get it replaced by htc because they can't figure out anymore if you had a custom rom or not
Btw: which RUU did you install?

Find the correct PD15IMG. It should be ~300MB in size.
Check MD5 sum on it.
Flash it in bootloader.
If it still bootloops - your phone is dead, and you should return it for replacement or warranty repair.
okay so last night it I told the phone to not update with the PD15IMG and the phone stopped rebooting but then a few hours later it shutoff and was back in the bootloop. So then I flashed it this time and stopped the reboot but I'll keep you posted.
so the phone still gets stuck in bootloop anytime it completely shuts off either by turning it off myself or pulling the battery. Is there anything else besides flashing PD15IMG

Well if the phone has never been rooted and you are having these problems, it should still be under warranty. Anyway to get it to HTC to get the warranty honored?
if it has a Sd card in it try to pull that then restart. that fixed mine..... worth a shot
I heard you need proof of purchase for the htc warranty so I'm not sure I will try though

You don't. They can (and do) check the warranty eligibility by your phone's S/N.
Talking from experience - used the HTC warranty to exchange the bad screen for good one, having the phone second hand from eBay.

I truly believe a phone could never be bricked with all the awesome info in the dev forum.... first .... LEARN ADB! and use it to install the latest CW recovery on your phone... next boot into recovery... volume down plus power at the same time.... choose recovery..... when you get to recovery... should be orange... wipe everything... factory wipe... cache wipe... go to advanced wipe dalvik and battery stats... go back and look for mounts and then format everything... cache, data, sdcard, system.... then plug in your usb cable to your computer and copy whatever rom you would like... i prefer doing footballs 2.2.1... that way i can re-root... ***make sure the rom is "PD15IMG.IMG"... then unmount.... go back a few in recovery until you see power down... then power down... pull battery... replace battery..... power into bootloader ( volume down and power button at the same time ) then sit back and let it do its magic... when it asks you to update... select yes.... let it do its thing..... that's it..... no more bricked phone..... enjoy and re-root.... but seriously..... read all the info in the dev section.... lots of really good stuff!
just realized that you have s=on..... so try just using the stock recovery to do what i suggested..... wiping everything and so on.... if still does not work..... really learn adb and fastboot by going through the dev forums..... good luck!
The link to guide for solving bootlooping/freezing MT4G or determining its death (and unluckily, most of those WILL be terminal cases and the phone WILL be determined as dead beyond any repair), is now in MyTouch 4G Wiki, under "Troubleshooting". The link to (updated and sorted) Wiki is in my signature.
did you tell them you bought the phone from eBay because i did to thinking the phone had a small problem but now it seems like a impossible one to fix.
Yes, I told them the phone was bought from eBay. It didn't matter to them at all.
So I'm sending my phone to HTC still have warranty on it. The hotline was no help so for ppl with a similar problem that doesn't know what to do call htc during the day do not call their repair hotline that is a waste of time just call the listed number for your carrier.

i'm guess maybe the volume rocker is broken, so whenever the phone boots it thinks that the user is pressing volume down+power buttons so it goes into HBOOT. try to see if you can make any selections using the volume down button in HBOOT.
