Controlling Atrix Through HDMI - Atrix 4G General

Hey guys, quick question, with the HDMI hack enabling the Webtop over the HDMI, how would you control the WebTop system? Do you have to buy the keybaord and mouse?
Thanks

It wondered the same thing until I tried it. You get a trackpad and a virtual keyboard on your phone screen. It works rather well too.

Or you can use a ps3 controller or a wii
Controller with the sixaxis app from the market and that works much better
Cause you ain't got to hold the phone and sit ontop of the tv

Oh wow, both of those are brilliant. Is there an on screen keyboard to as well?

I've never seen one on the TV screen but there is an option to pull up a keyboard on the phone.

you will not be able to get HDMI running on ApeX unfortunately, but there are some apps like Real Hdmi that should work but you will have to pay for it...

Thank you...that's what I was thinking

The motoblur media player is what you need to use the HDMI. If there was a way to get that working, then you could. I don't think it's too hard, it's in other roms. Maybe make a feature request in the apex thread?

Project Tablet screen to TV

Is there a way or an app that will allow you to project your tablet screen to a tv? For work we need a TV that will allow us to project the tablet screen on it. We have yet to buy a TV yet and we currently have Galaxy S tablet as an option or the Moto Xoom as another option. Any suggestions? I've Googled for a solution and I've also looked through the market and haven't found anything. Being able to project wireless would be MUCH preferred.
Thanks!
You have the software on the tab already its called All share but you have to use a Samsung TV and that also has to have All Share on it.

I think he means an app that can do the same thing as the HDMI dock. The HDMI dock allows everything to be projected to the TV, not just media. In other words a mirroring app such as ones that exist for the Droid X and EVO but wireless. I would be interested in this find as well. Right now I use the HDMI dock which works quiet well but a wireless solution would be gold.
I use a $24 cable I bought from ebay. Then I project my screen through my video projector, but to a tv would be just as simple.

As has been said already, this only allows you to share media (eg video) rather than apps/homescreen etc.
However, Allshare is a DLNA client/server that works with any other DLNA device, not just Samsung TVs.

This cable is a nice and cheap alternative. However keep in mind that it won't charge your tab while it is in use while the HDMI dock does.

Yup you sure can. If you have a bluetooth keyboard and mouse you can do anything from your couch if you wanted to. I recommend the Logitech dinovo mini or dinovo edge if you want this option.
I know this thread is kind of old but I want to ask...I want to do the samething wirelessly on my note 10.1 2014....now I don't have a smart TV but with chromecast is it possible? Also would chromecast have to be rooted? I don't want to be able to use some apps...I want to be able to see my TV the same exact way that I do while it is on the tablet

How about the usb cable? I am not sure about your tablet, but it should have a tv out option in the settings. I hope this helps.

PS3 controller works on Nexus S 4G 2.3.5 rooted stock rom.

Just like the title says, I just got the "Sixaxis Controller" app from the market and it works on our phone.
The app is here https://market.android.com/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller&feature=search_result
Just tested with a couple of emus and it works great!
costs money though
nice any games that support it? or just emulators?
wirelessly?
you use a device twice as big as your phone to play with it ^^, that's not very portable

I know for sure emulators do. As for regular games the controller works the same as a slide out keyboard (you just program the keys) so if a keyboard is supported for button mapping so is the controller.

As far as I know you have to be root.
I've been waiting on this, using the wiimote was awesome but it lacked buttons.
I'm using a Nexus S (T-Mobile bands) with CM7 nightly 155 and netarchy 1.3.9. I purchased the app and it works perfectly.
I'm loving this so much!
Has anybody got the keys mapped out for gun bros?

IR Blaster + Xbox 360!

Hey there guys,
Just a quick one in case anyone doesn't know, but when setting up a remote on the TV app, on cable box, if you scroll down to Microsoft and use that option, it allows you to use your TV remote to control your Xbox!

That's cool. Is it better than Smartglass?
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Smart glass connects through WiFi and has deep integration in the Xbox. This simply allows you to power on/off your Xbox, navigate around and select stuff in Netflix etc. Perfect for me as I have an Xbox and tv in the bedroom which is mainly used for dvds and Netflix.
smartglass is different and has many more features, but having one remote to turn your tv and Xbox on is amazing.
Works a treat thanks don't even need to leave the šofa to turn on the Xbox now lolz

HTC must publish a website for IR so we can find updates and contributions for many devices like xbox360,DSLR,TVs...
I guess it works for Media Center receiver too?

For me its really useful because my xbox in the bedroom doesn't have a wireless controller and the tv remote is a bit knackered.
EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pJcYKzO0Pk
Thanks dude. Was wondering if this was possible. Sadly I did buy a remote for my xbox last month! But now I've got my HTC One, don't need to leave the sofa now! (if the remote is out of reach!)
I do not see Microsoft on my list

It's something my dealer put in as an aftermarket navigation unit. It's a Chinese unit that's distributed in North America by "Rosen Electronics". Model number is DS-HY1120-P11, special-fit for 2011-2013 Hyundai Sonatas.
That being said, any head unit with an AUX-in will work.

yup, keyboard/trackpad combo.
Using openelec?
Same setup used pretty much here but without inverter.
Soon will add in a 2.5" HD to store some media without needing to connect to home media server.
Previous experience is that the HD generates noise, classic alternator whine.

No, using RaspBMC at the moment. I like OpenELEC but you can't launch a web browser with it, so I went with RaspBMC and the Advanced Launcher trick to get Chrome working. I've got the wifi dongle in the Pi and I just turn on my wifi hotspot on my cellphone and voila - internet browsing in the car
I've also got an NFC tag in the car that my phone scans (with the screen off, thanks to the Xposed hack on Android) which turns my Bluetooth and Wifi Hotspot on when I enter the car, and off when I exit.
That's pretty cool the nfc!
Only use openelec so its easier to store user data on usb. Help with updates and not rebuilding library.
Great through a stereo! Sub woofer, gun shots lol
15 years ago had an mini crt screen and installed that in car, then the n64 got added . Multiplayer goldeneye, bong mix lol. Those were the days

Just a third party mce remote. Will get a better photo and details when back from work.
Got it out of a place called maplin electronics here in UK. Cheapy mce remote that's all. But works well and has a little trackpad on it for mouse operations.

Do you have any reference material on how to get an MCE remote working with the Pi? Or, does it just work out of the box when the USB dongle is plugged in?

How do you deal with the engine startup?
does the USB Hub have some kind of safety feature that helps protect against overcharging, or does the inverter help there?
if so, do you have a link to that inverter? looking to do samt mod, but haven't found a safety feature to prevent overcharge during engine startup.
So you use the screen of the car to display stuff from your rasp pi? And you have a sonata? What's the screen resolution?

Touchscreen doesn't work, gotta use the remote. I'm sure there's a way to jack into the touch, but that's WAY too advanced for my limited skillset
