Can't start ROM IceCreamSandwich Beta6 - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

After I installed the ROM as the guide, I can not turn it on.
He just shows me a black screen in the center of the screen labeled HTC green.
Waited half an hour and nothing moved.
What should I do?

Rom isn't starting

I just installed nand with clockwork. I installed Jaws miui and it wouldn't start. It was stuck on the HTC screen in the beginning. Now i installed JDMs ultimate android, but it won't start either. it stays stuck in the HTC screen.
I used HSPL4 and followed the directions very carefully. My MAGLDR still works fine. Its just the roms that won't start.
Are you installing the required partition for the particular ROM? Sometimes it can take 10-15 minutes to load for the first time.
im formatting my sd card to see if that works.
reflash your cwr m8
like for jaws MIUI rom u need to edit cwr flash before u flash cwr. thats why u was stuck !

what do you mean by edit your CWM?
notice display message when installing, isn't complete?
so if u have CWR/CWM - ClockWorkMod Recovery in your PC u can find the file name flash.cfg. So for some roms u need to edit this file before u flash CWR into your phone. If u need or not to edit this file u should find in your roms thread. U can edit it in any text editor. Also u need to check what CWR size u need for you rom cos u can have CWR in many sizes like from 150mb to 400mb
For example this is how CWR flash.cfg original file looks like
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery-raw.img
boot yboot|ro 5M
system ya 400M
cache ya 4M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
Click to collapse
And here is modified 1 what is required for rom what I using
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize recovery-raw.img
boot yboot|ro 8M
system ya 140M
cache ya 30M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize

So u can see its different.
Hope this info helps u m8

So what should I do now?
I already partition my sd with 512M and Swap size is 256..
You have to partition your nand also.in the first page of nand development there is ksubedi s hd2 nand tool kit, download and setup it in pc.then connect your hd2 to pc,in mgldr menu choose usb flasher, then in toolkit choose in mgldr repartition size custom and cache size 5, then at the bottom click repartition,a window will open write 180 and ok. When partitioning finishes flash the rom.btw 512mb sd-ext size may not be enough for the chosen rom you better use 1.5-2 gb,and reduce swap to a lower value or to 0.

[Q] How can I verify the CWM partition size?

Hi,
First of all I am sorry for the noob question, but how can I verify what is the partition size of Clockworkmod Recovery is creating in my cell phone?
I have a T-Mobile HD2 with MAGL 1.3, Clockworkmod Recovery 3.0.0.1 and Hyperdroid CM7 installed. Under Settings/About Phone/ Mem Info I see 134MB/411MB. Is the CWM partition related with this?
In the past I used the HD Core Droid version 1.5 witch was a very big Android ROM (270Mbytes), now a installed the Hyperdroid witch is very light (67Mbytes). But I just installed the ROM without changes in the CWM layout. Any suggestions about?
Thanks

looks like your partition is set for around 400mb
you can modify the flash.cfg file in cwm by opening it with notepad.
and change the numbers to those recomended by the Rom dev
misc ya 1M
recovery rrecov|ro|nospr filesize MAGLDR_recovery_3.0.2.4-seadersn.img
boot yboot|ro 8M
system ya 400M
cache ya 8M
userdata ya|asize|hr allsize
Thanks for your help. Just a few question.
Where is located the flash.cfg file? So, just changing the parameter system ya from 400M to 150M is enought to release space to install more apllications?
Thanks

u will need to instal everything again and use the toolkit to install the 150 mb partition ... witch will leave about 200mb free ...if u install 120 mb that will leace about 300 mb free ... if u go lower mayve the rom wont boot.
for hyperdroid i used ti flash 100 mb but with 90mb the rom dont boot ...it's advisable to flash the partition set by the dev of any rom...

no, it isnt related at all, thats the memory, the RAM, not the partition size.
there is nowhere as standard that shows you teh size of the system partition (which is what you mean by CWM partition).
You can see the size of the data partition by going setings - storage - internal storage.
to see teh others, get 'super manager' from teh market, open it, and choose file explorer.
now, at teh top of the foldes list, in small writing under where it says 'back up level folder' it gives you details of teh folder you are currently in, ,
so use it to browse into your system folder, and look at the info.
EG mine says 'total 150M used 137.4M, bla blah' because I have a 150Meg system partition, and teh typhoon rom comes to about 137 meg when unzipped.
If i now browse into the cache folder, that info shows 'tot 40M, used 1.1M.....' because i chose a 40meg cache partition.
you can do the same with the sd-ext folder to see how big and how full your EXT partition on the sd card is.
Thanks a lot for all the answers. Now the this thing is getting clear for me.
Thanks guys.

Yes you need to create an SD EXT partition, but this can easily be done in CWM. To flash a 172 MB partition, download any recovery size then open the file flash.cfg (not flash.cfg.txt) with notepad, then change the system partition size to 172 MB and leave everything else the same

Besides, even if he were using MAGLDR AND didn't have an ext partition, that shouldn't prevent "system" from being wiped.
I made SD-EXT (ext4) partition 1024 mb, 0 mb swap (2 minutes before flashing ROM)
Then I tried flash my new ROM but it stopped on 'Formatting System...'
I used universal method to flash by cLK which I known but when I tried with cLK from link in thread with ROM, then worked.
But I think that SD partition didn't create because in the settings applications manager free space show only ~110mb
(in my previous ROM when I made the SD-EXT partition by method which I know the applications manager show ~1000 mb free).
cLK Install Manual:
Download archive with the cLK loader and Recovery from here than unpack its content.
Connect PDA in bootloader mode ("mattress") and run LeoAdvancedRUU.exe from сLK folder
Wait for PDA reboot and clamp a key "Back". Connect PDA with cable to PC
Install the driver if the PC doesn't see a PDA connected (download from here)
Run fastboot_resize.bat from cLK_CWM_Recovery folder
Wait for PDA reboot and get to the menu cLK. Run fastboot_install_recovery.bat from a folder cLK_CWM_Recovery. Wait the record ends.
Choose Recovery mode by arrows and press the call button "Green button"
Choose point "Install zip from sdcard" by arrows and next "Choose zip from sdcard", choose our archive with firmware (the firmware should be thrown preliminary on a sdcard) and press a call button "Green button"
After the installation finishes get to the menu again. Press a key "Back" and choose point "Reboot system now"
The PDA will reboot and the Android will be started. The first start a bit longer then usual

In the computer I can see free space 6,3 gb (mircoSD 8 gb) so partition is probably well set ;/

No, don't make assumptions. Use windows' desk management or any 3rd party app to CHECK.
Probably the rom is using ad2sd so it's mounting data from nand and putting apps on sd-ext partition (happens to me with energy sense 3.5 rom).
Use EXTRecovery to wipe all partitions, then create one, then print a partition table to check.
I will check this when I come back from work. Use phone like HTC HD2 or anyone smartphone is useless without sd partition.
In the cLK table looks like that:
