Hello, i want to make a Nandroid backup,
CWM doesn't back it up , saying that it can't back up sd-ext partition.
is it possible to make a nandroid backup from my PC?
If you dont have sd-ext partition then there is nothing to backup.you backed up everything else already.

It is a nandroid backup. It takes a full image of your current state. All it doesn't backup are the modem and the file system (that is the lagfix if any)

but it backs up my files? just not the file system type
Hey guys,
Hopefully you can help me, I've successfully rooted installed cwm and done a nandroid back up, I updated to the 2.3.5 update, I want to restore my files back to how they were with the 2.2 system, when I go to restore, should I restore boot, system, data, cache and sd-ext? I was under the impression this will reinstall the 2.2 rom
Thanks.
DON'T DO IT!
Use titanium backup: menu > more > extract from nandroid backup.
If you try use CWM, you will be stuck at bootlogo.

hey guys, I got a question about nandroid backup and since I have a huawei this seems to be the right thread
I'm about to get a new sd card class 10 to replace my current slower one..I want to know: if I make a nandroid backup with my clockwork recovery then I transfer it to the new sd card and plug it in my phone can I restore it from recovery? the recovery and the phone are the same, I will change just my sd card with the new one..it's too boring to reinstall everything so I'd like to know if I can do it this way
yes

Thank you! I asked because I tried in the past to put a custom rom this way but the backup wasn't mine..the cook of the rom shared his nandroid backup to let you have the rom already set up..but it was a mess because after the nandroid was restored the recovery automatically formatted the user data on the sd and when the phone boots was a disaster..maybe because the versions of the recoveries were different or because the phone was different..
I flashed a file and I'm trying do a nandroid backup but every time i tried i get this
.android_secure.img not found skipping restore of /sdcard/.android_secure.
Restoring cache.

It looks like you're trying to do a restore, not a backup. CWM goes through several items to try and restore. If one of those items isn't there, in this case .android_secure, it is skipped. What's the problem? Does the rest of the restore not work? The only other thing in there is the cache. There should also be system, data, boot, etc.

Titanium Backup.
Restoring the data partition could cause ROM problems, like FCs, and stuff that doesn't worn properly.
Hi guys, so I did a nandroid backup of my stock rom yesterday to try a custom rom and if I'm not mistaken it should have backed up all of my files and data in my phone storage right? But when I went back to restoring the nandroid backup, it only restored my apps. All of my pictures which was in my phone storage was not restored D: Do you guys have any idea what may have caused this or any way I can retrieve my pictures back? I tried using an old nandroid backup of my stock rom which works before but it didn't now
When I did a backup my backup folder is not there in cwm backup folder but I can access it when I m in recovery mode

Bro.. I dont thinks that nandorid also take backup of ur pictures and other media, because i did it twice but it only retrieve my orginal apps and rom not my media.. If u are adding custom rom than u dnt have to factory reset the phone just wipe the caches thts all...U dnt need to delete the ur media..
You told tht u tried nandroid backup.. Is it retrieve the media before?
if yes than it might be media already in the phone.
I am also doing nandroid backup again I will let u know my media retrieve or not.
it preferable to use TWRP.
ok bro I done my nandroid backup but it only retrieve the Data of apps not media..
tell me when u done the backup before is that retrieve the media??
