Any tricks for getting it to work? Just updated to the OTA GB, and it won't show up. Tried with PC mode/Charge only, etc.
I don't believe that it will show up in the notifications bar, but if you selected it in applications>development it should be on. It doesn't appear on mine, but I know that it's on.
Good luck!

When I plug in my notifications drop down gives me an option to mount, but th option to syn is gone? What might have caused this?
still having this problem and my forum/google search turned up nothing.
so far I looked around in settings and apps but found nothing that might have changed htc sync,
also i reinstalled sync from the sd on my PC. still the same
when im plugged in i have an option to mount, but not to sync. one line only in notifications bar.
turned off usb debugging, thought it might be that... it wasnt, still no sync
well i feel like a dork.. i think something advanced task killer did might have done it.. i turned off auto start on it and rebooted again and now i have it back..
thanks for all the help =)
whats the best task stopper out there?

thats what i was thinking now =) thanks
Okay, any ideas on why when i plug my Evo into any computer USB it charges, but it doesn't give me the menu to connect to it, it use to.
USB Debugging mode enabled, no there are no alerts in the notification menu. I have even tried changing the default preference on what to do.
Handheld is 100% charged. I have tried powering off and on, pulling the battery, went into fastboot and can get there....but i can't connect from pc...so SDK and access evo-recovery for nandroid options are a no go.
I am realitively new to this, and am hoping the experts and the community will be able to pull through for me.
Thanks
rooted and running 3.1.2 RvU with radio fix patch applied.
oh, and just to make it further clear, the handheld is working great aside from that...
(i also tried different cables)
Anybody??
Anybody else ever see this before?
Identical problem. It started after the phone crashed while on a call. Don't know how to fix it, but I'll let you know if I find out.
So, the problem appears to have fixed itself (since I can now select my connection type again). I read on another thread that removing the battery for about a minute could be a potential fix. For me, trying again after more than 24 hours of up time seemed to be enough.
Hope this helps you out...
I just noticed that my GPS icon is visible at the top of my notification bar. I haven't installed any new programs since flashing the firmware, so I am not sure what is making the GPS turn on right now. And I just rebooted my phone this morning. I haven't rebooted again to see if it comes back--I want to see how long it stays there. But it has been there for five minutes or so now. Is there a way to see what app has told the phone to make the GPS active?
By the way, does anyone else think the new firmware requires a longer, more deliberate swipe to wake up the phone after tapping the power button?
um... I have the new firmware, and the GPS icon is not persistent.
I run stock, and the GPS will kick in at times, no idea why. It's not persistent though.

If you have adb enabled, and can run adb logcat when the GPS kicks in and see what running process that might be accessing this?
Even I have the same problem.
Is it the plus sign inside a rhombus with signal strength to the right side of it??
My fascinate got updated 2 days ago and ever since the sign appears on my status bar.
Also, after the update I am not able to connect my phone to my Mac. Its not able to mount the disk.
Please help !!!
Thanks,
DJ
I like ka5 too.. the heptic feedback is still notworking right but ill keep this firmware until the official one comes..
This was happening to me on JL5. Turns out it was ShopSavvy barcode scanner (Big In Japan). I promptly uninstalled. Just a thought...
phone works fine for now, im just curious wth is this since i had it didnt happen before...
its rooted stock froyo 2.1, with voodoo lagfix.
usb debugging is off so its not notification for it.
it happens when i connect usb cable with phone, no matter what mode im in.
tringle is just red, notification is normal (example: mount/unmount usb storage mode).
pc recognise it(i can transfer files), kies is buggy sometimes but its standard somehow...
when i reset phone and connect it later few times, in first its normal(no red triangle), few hours it just pop-up when i connect it...
problem about 'use only 2g networks' is just iritating...mostly i use wifi, but when im not home and i want to check something on net i need something faster than edge! freaking box keeps resetting itself after some time, i uncheck it, phone normaly gets H, but when i see later freaking box is checked again!
any idea about these two problems? the first one worries me a lot
Not sure if any one else sees this issue but whenever I turn on Airplane mode and turn it off after a while, the bluetooth doesn't turn back on until reboot, I have tried to turn it back on either via the Bluetooth toggle or enable Bluetooth in Settings. When I tried to turn it on the switch would be shown as on but there is no connected device and I could not refresh the device list (the option is greyed out), and if I leave that Bluetooth screen and go back in again, the status is shown as of again. The only way to fix that is via reboot. Wifi and LTE signals are all OK though.
Does anyone else have this problem? I have a script to turn on airplane mode whenever I get no cellphone signal to save battery, but now I have to disable this to keep my Bluetooth connection on so that I can use the wristband.

Move to Oreo Beta2 .. that problem is definitely gone. I see some random reboots, but other than that the Beta2 update has been a solid improvement.
