Hello,
I have an LG E900 Optimus 7 brand TIM and I have some problems, that seems to be very common to Optimus 7 (I've got them before and after NoDo update):
The phone begin to have sound problems tipically while playing games (but not only with games). The sound stops playing and the framerate becomes very choppy and instable. Typically the streaming background music get stopped while sound effects continue playing. If you continue playing things become worse and framerate get something like seconds of pause every 2-4 sec (terrible!!!) and sounds stop playing completely. If I exit from games no more sound works, sometimes some seconds of music got played sometimes not, audio becomes very instable.
So I turn off (stanby) the phone but... in one second it wake up itself. So I press again power button, he rewake. No way. If I connect USB or power plug, the same. If I completely turn off the phone and power up, the same. If I power down, take out battery wait 15 minutes (to get colder?) and repower, the same!
In this situation the phone reboot itself at random times, while using it, if you use IE or other software or play it reboot even more frequently
After some time from this problems, the phone keep working ok. But at random times those problems comes togheter or not, it's a nightmare.
I've read in http://answers.microsoft.com/ that many people had those problems with LG Optimus 7 and the problems are resolved only by changing the internal electronic board. I think I'll go to LG service tuesday for this, but tipically it takes about 15 days whitout the phone...
Anyone with the same problems here? If you answer write all the version in Settings - > Informations -> Other informations (translated from Italian, I don't know the right words for international roms). Maybe we can find a common value... I see that my firmware is very old.
Here are my versions:
SO ver: 7.0.7390.0
Firmware ver: 1.0.1.10
Hardware rev: 1.0.0.0
radio sw ver: 1.0.1.10
radio hw ver: 0.3.5.0
bootloader ver: 1.5.0.0
SOC proc ver: 0.30.2.0
I just sent mine in for service for the same problem. I'll let you know what they change and if it fixes it.
Regards
Hi guys. I have the exact same problem.. please let me know if the service part worked.
Thx

Waiting for mine
Hi, I've also sent my device to service. I'm waiting for it, from LG repair status page I see it will arrive today to service collection point. I will test some days my device and post the result of service.
Hoping and waiting...

Hi, sorry I was waiting some time to see how is going after some time but I understand you want to know so I'll write about my phone now
The phone is perfectly working now. On service website I've read they done "firmware update and electronic repair" (translated from Italian)
Firware update... well I had NoDo and they flashed the first old WP7 version, I had to update to pre NoDo and then update again to NoDo. However that was not a problem, only some time required to do it with Zune.
The important thing that I can say after some use is that the phone don't have a issue now, I'm very happy.
No wake up from standby, no audio issues and no reboot
BUT... The issue I had didn't started from the first use... They came after some time (about 1 month) of use and they was getting worse and worse, so for saying that there aren't more issues we must wait some time to evaluate the stability in time.
Until now, all right!
Can you please update on your status on this? It's almost a month since your last post, so I wonder how is the situation now. I have this device for 2 days now and I am wondering how things are.
Status
Hi cybernouris, until now all seem right. No issues, I've played a lot with 3d intensive games to check the overheating problem and no single problem was found. In daily use no single problem, in fact I never turn off the device and after nearly one month there is absolutely no problem at all, and that leave me impressed.
I can say that now I'm very pleased with my device. It was a very good choice: cheaper than other devices but same hardware...
The next frustration is the waiting for "Mango" and all the new, sweet api it will contain.... but this is a completely different story...
If you want to know more don't hesitate to ask me.
Thanks for the reply
Your info is valuable. I have reflashed the phone with the europe open rom. everything seems the same as before. It rebooted once after some hour, right when i was in a game and with charger on.
The weird thing is that when this happens, i press n hold turn off button to close the phone, it closes and opens up again stuck at the lg screen.
The moment i unplugged the charger it showed the home screen in 5 seconds, without showing the windows phone boot screen.
Any chance this may be caused from the battery?
PS: I've just missed the telephone support from lg here in greece for 5 mins.. they said a tech guy will call me tomorrow to talk about my prob. Let's hope I will find something.
Graphic intensive games and battery charger what the two things that caused those ugly symtoms to me too. But it seems you have some more problems than me, that stuck lg screen for example. But I had too strange behaviours so it cannot be excluded that it could be the same root problem than mine.
You have no chance, however, you must send it to repair service... and after two weeks of trepidant waiting you'll be happy like me!
Best wishes
I'll see how things go from now on. Will see what they tell me on the phone too. I do not have a problem with sending it for a repair, but the phone is only 2 days old! And i dont want to wait for a long time, i need it for work
Anyway, thanks again for the replies energywave.
Regards.
You're welcome, I perfectly understand how you're feeling, I needet too for work. I was lucky that I've waited to sell my HTC Touch HD so I had a backup while repairing occured.
Good luck!
Energywave I feel the need to thank you as I feel that you brought me luck somehow
I did not wait for LG any more as I contacted them 5 times and I only got responses as "Our technician will call you back in 5 minutes" and I went back to the store I bought it.
I had them play with the phone, they got 3 reboots and they immediately gave me a new optimus 7
I updated it without a hitch and it works like a charm since then, and I've put it under some stress using the 3g connection with internet explorer, maps and marketplace for some hours.
Let me note this for anyone else reading this thread. My faulty device did not reboot at step 9/10 of NoDo Update. That is the last step where it says that the device reboots and when it gets to the home screen the update is finished. It just got stuck at the LG screen and I had to close it (by holding the power button) and wait for it to boot after some 5-6 tries...
My new device went through the updates flawlessly (I hope I spelled that right) and the battery lasted at least double time and with only being charged from critical low to around 75%, this charge being the very first one for the device!!!
It also charged alot faster and while I was using it too, installing apps from marketplace on WiFi.
That's my experience, I hope more people with problems find a solution because this device is worth of more appraise
Lastly, energywave, thanks for the kind attitude mate, it surely brought me luck
So I recently picked up an LG Optimus 7 here in Canada, its a Telus phone but it is unlocked and I am using it on Bell. Was working great for a couple of days, now tonight its started losing sound and rebooting like crazy...
After a quick google search I see this appears to be pretty common issue with this phone.. sigh. I bought it used so am I screwed? Will LG honor the warranty?
Hey cybernouris, sorry I've completely lost your message that I'm reading now (much late... ) I'm happy that you've resolved your issue, I know the "peace of mind" feeling you had when using your good working Optimus 7 Nothing to thank me about
Have a nice evening!
I've noticed that the sound always stops, when I have WiFi turned on.
Hi all,
Had a DHD since it's release date, swapped it for another one because my first one had the horrible gap at the top which allows dust to come onto the screen, second one was cool, however since i've had it i've never had a good track record with the GPS, it's just a **** feature which over promises and under delivers, even when the phone was stock it was crap.
I've flashed numerous radios onto it and i've tried all the programs which promise the earth and don't deliver, I don't want to use a network connection either otherwise what would be the point ?
I went to the south of spain last week and it worked for a little bit and then ceased to, it's a complete ball ache because now i can't even get one satellite.
I'm presently on Core Droid 6.8 using Radio 12.54.60.25P_26.09.04.11_M2
With it's matching RIL package, just doesn't want to work, seriously pissed off with this and i want to just kick it in the bin now.
Any help would be good, i've rooted with all security features off.
I even tried the fix posted about the metal contacts by the flash with no success (i didn't break them either).
Cheers.
I got that problem too.
With my Desire HD it helps to do a fastreboot with the app "Fast Reboot" from the Android Market. Just run it. After that, I go into FasterFix, another app. There you can set a optimised server, mine is "Germany". Then click on go.
And finally after this I go into the app "GPS Status". Activate you Gps, click on the Menubutton -> tools -> A-GPS. First click on reset, then Menubutton -> tools -> A-GPS -> download. You'll need a wifi connection for this-
After those steps my gps locks in a few seconds. I also don't know if you have to do this after each flash, maybe you'll just need one app or something.
I hoped I could help you!
Hi, I appreciate the response but I'm afraid I've done all that before and it doesn't work, I've now contacted my phone provider and im getting a new phone tomorrow, just need to get back to stock now.
I hope you know how to unroot and restore your phone? Check this
I agree with the above Faster Fix app resolved the GPS issue for me.

Hi,
I recently bought my first Android phone in the form of Galaxy Note. However I am so far disappointed with it.
The main reason being that Phone hangs way too often. Earlier I thought it could be due to apps I downloaded from the Android Market. There is no pattern, sometimes it hangs while I am using Market or sometimes when I am browsing Settings menu.
Most of the time when it hangs, I have to remove the battery, put it again and reset the phone. I am really disappointed with my experience. I have already experienced the situation where I could not restart the phone and I had to take the phone to Service center to resolve the issue.
But now even after formatting, Phone does hang intermittently. I am going to take it to the service center but afraid that the issue may not reoccur there and they'll give me some BS reason.
I am not sure if this is a phone problem or Android problem. Does anyone else face the same problem?
P.S. - I have the latest firmware installed on my phone.

Thanks for your reply. Then this must be phone issue. I'll take it to the Samsung service center , let's see what they have to say.
Sounds like a defective phone. Mine doesn't behave like that.

I've had my Note for 2 weeks, never once has it froze.
100% you have a defective phone, take it back to Samsung service/repair centre.
Update - I took my phone to Service Centre and to my luck they too experienced the same freezing issue at boot start up. They have kept the phone for inspection and will let me know tomorrow.
I really hope they gave me replacement for my phone. Will update tomorrow.

Yup its a phone issue. My SGN hasnt had any issues yet. I am also using go launcher & added a couple of mods but not a single freeze in past 1 week.
Touch wiz on SGN is laggy compared to other versions.
These things happen to me when I try overclocking / undervolting too much but not on stock firmware. Looks like a defective device.

Try to flash a new firmware and check the problem again.
What have you installed lately?
When I first installed widgetlocker, I tried to set a 5x5 widget grid and my phone hung constantly. Using default grid works fine
Also. Vibrate notify also caused the note to lock up hard. Any system app that flakes out can lock up your phone.
Try to remove your sd card to test.
Some brands of sd card are not compatible with note.

As I had mentioned this is my 1st Android phone (and expensive one ), so I am not very adventurous with it at the moment.
I had downloaded following apps from Android market.
1. 3G Watchdog
2. Lookout security and Antivirus
3. etc
After my 1st major experience with Screen freeze, I performed hard reset and had performed updates for Flash, Google Maps. That's it. Still I found my phone freezing from time to time. There were no custom ROM or widgets on my phone.

I had not put SD card. 16GB is enough for me
As you guys mentioned, the phone was indeed a defective piece. FML
Service center guys wants to replace the faulty circuit with new circuit, however I am insisting on a new piece.
They say they replace the phone only if customer reports the fault in 4 days from purchasing which is BS policy. Not even a week complete and my phone started giving me trouble and they do no want to replace the phone. Big shame on Samsung for such stupid policies.
I have yet to hear from them as they want to speak to Samsung. Looks like I will have to raise storm to get my phone replaced. Rough ride ahead...wish me luck

Hello XDA users
I would like to know if is possible to any of you answer some questions about this device:
1) I was using the stock ROM some months, and i noticed that some times it just freeze. i mean, the phone would not give any kind of response unless i take off the battery or hold the power on button a while, then press again and turn on this time. I really hoped that this issue was from the ROM, but now exactly the same happened today using the JELLYBLAST v3. Is there some explanation for this behavior? or is just what i get for such a low price smartphone?
I didnt saw that happening yet, and the battery was not totally out, i remember that i saw at least 50% charged the last time it happened.
2) Why i cant connect to a bluetooth HID device? the stock rom and the JELLYBLAST said the same: that cant connect. I saw somewhere that this is possible with Cyanogen, but how come? i really searched at the store for a app that could do that for me, but not a single one worked (from the ones that i found, research made 3 months ago).
I wanted to make use of my bluetooth keyboard from Palm.
Thanks.:good:
I don't know what is wrong with my Note3 N9005 it restarted by itself without any reason. It happened twice in this week already. I have been using it since the beginning of March bought it brand new on ebay.
The current FW is 4.42. I am suspected the cause is the apps I dowloaded but just don't know which one. Does any one have any ideas?

Hi.
I had same problem - even 2-3 restarts per day. In my case, someone of these apps caused problem (i installed them every time I wipe phone or install firmware, doesn't matter custom or stock).
1. Timely
2. Facebook
3. Facebook Messenger
4. Mx player
5. Plantronics hub
6. Cyberon Voice Commander Pl
Since few days I'm on stock XUENC2 ETL firmware, and I only upgraded stock apps and istalled shazam. In next few days i try to install Cyberon.
I think mx player could be the culprit. I say this because I have 3 different players on my phone. Every now and again when I use them my phone goes into spasm!
It stops paying anything, I lose all sounds then gradually I lose the ability to use my phone until I restart it.
I've had it Sent to Samsung but it returned with same problem.
I now only use one player and as yet it's not done it since. .

Uninstall all apps you installed just before it started? And then re-add them one by one until it starts rebooting again. Then you'll know which.

I am gonna try it. My phone restarted again today and it was sitting inside my belt case I heard the restarting sound, So it was self restarted even it was not in use, wow!
My previous phone was a China made ZOPO ZP990 before that was OPPO Find 5 both didn't do self restart like this and both are cheaper than Note 3 but the Note 3's been giving me the self restarting, lagging even hangs like a computer a few times. I think I should email Samsung and see what they say. Thank you for your idea tho.

I have many posts about this device rebooting randomly and freezing. I believe the problem is the RAM. You see, I don't suffer from this problem anymore, not by unchecking this and removing that or by factory resetting but because I have my phone set to "noop" and "performance" [300-2265] in SetCPU. I did this so that the RAM doesn't really get a chance to "keep" a process running for too long. It forces the phone to do what is has to immediately and with all the necessary processing power is can muster.
Battery life? I get 20+ hours comfortably unless the screen brightness is set too high, which is a "duh" in my opinion.
If you do a search for "freezing" or "random reboots" you will see that you aren' alone.
Sorry for writing it another time, but from my experience, this and other topics with freeze and restart problem, are hard to find.
After few months of crashing, and restarting, I send my Note to service center on warranty with knox 0x1. They changed mainboard. Currently testing, but it seems to be ok right now.
Freeze and rebots, restarts of Note 3 have to be HARDWARE FAILURE
I tired everything, diffrent roms, setcpu settings, with no success.
