I believe the KPN thing is just to say that it's a dutch release, just like the old days.

Yes but those are not generic ROMS, they are carrier modified and not necessarily newer
And will have all the carrier branded extras.

Just flash Hardcore speedmod or Siyah kernel through Odin and you`re rooted
Just use the universal method.

Haay All,
I´m now on KI4 2.3.5..
I want to try this new KJ3, My provider is Vodafone
What are the main differences between KI4 and KJ3, and can i use this with a Vodafone provider..?
Can i use KJ3 this with all custom rom's..?
Yes couple of questions im sorry,
Greetings,,
J.
i'm on vodafone NL too, just updated to kj3. I tried to root it with the universal method but only SU is installed, CWM not
I want to root my device and install a kernel that is almost stock, but with BLN support. I don't know which one to take for KJ3?
..
Im installing KIES, and i hope the update to KJ3 will download..
And if not, wich KJ3 i have to download, the kpn version or the other one..
Greetings
the other one xen version
Dankje
Maar ¾ van de nederlandse SGSII gebruiker heeft hier allemaal geen flauw idee van dat dit bestaat. Roms Kernels etc.. Best vreemd, hiervoor heb ik juist deze telefoon gekocht
The kpn one is very close to stock. Only some stupid app from bol.com is added

--dutch mode off--
i always use speedmod kernels, they are the best. Do not care much for BLN.

Is it true?
If they wrote "The update to 2.2 has long been available" in the original letter, I think they confused the Galaxy 3 with the Galaxy S, which indeed has the official 2.2 update since November.
I hate samsung!
official 2.2 is released in some countries am i right? for t-mobile i think...
and yes i hate samsung too... next phone will be htc or motorola
I have got a t-mobile simcard and I bought my phone in a t-mobile store... No update... Maby it's not ready in holland yet. I found a site that told the update for the europe and apollo to be available... I emailed samsung again... No reaction yet
"has long be available" means "for a while" (mistake in translating)

It would be cool if the update was available. Does anybody knows when it will be ready?
What is then the meaning of that the update first will be available for T-Mobile?

even i tooo. i think we should take some steps against Samsung so that they can gice at-least some proper support and updates
waiting is killing .
I am almost ready with one buyer of this phone at a good price.. will wait for 4-5 days more.. otherwise i am migrating to HTC wildfire.. this was my one of the worst experience with mobile phone ... certainly not with android (it rocks as usual) ... but the pathetic Samsung.

February still has 18 days to go.
Does anyone know that if and when the update comes out, will we be able to root our phones then? or should i hurry up and root it while there's still time?

I am sure that sooner or later there will be a solution for rooting. The leaked ROMs were rooted days after the release.
I don't think you can upgrade when your phone is rooted. But can't we use z4root to root in froyo?
Froyo was said in February, but some said that in April. When will the Asian version Froyo out. My bad English
In my country Czech Republic, was froyo released, but stupid kies dont know that, i think. I hate samsung, their firmwares and softwares. Next phone will be nexus or htc. I am sure i will never buy samsung.

I am planning to flash my hd2 to android.
1. is there a rom that is dutch ?
2. can i use a market to download software on the hd2 ?
3. is it possible to flash it back to wm ?
4. wich android rom is recommended for stability, is must have working wifi and working bleutooth
4. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918899 Alles werkt!
Als je meer info wilt, kan je me altijd een mail sturen, [email protected]
Please reply in English and Dutch, if you have to. Dutch only is not allowed on XDA, because this is an international community.
In regards to the questions by the OP.
1. Most of the Roms contain dutch language files nowadays. If you see an updated AOSP build (Android Open Source Project), dutch language files and dictionary are included most of the time. I myself use an AOSP Gingerbread ROM for Nexus One (see sig), which has dutch too.
2. Yes, you can. Your phone will identify itself to the Market as an Android phone.
3. Yes, you can. Just flash an original stock rom for your device from SD, which will erase HSPL, MAGLDR and flash WM again. Your phone will be as it was when you opened the box.
4. Just make sure install MAGLDR 1.13 and CWM (Clockwork Mod Recovery). It gives you the possibility to do full backups (and restores) and will offer you the possibility to try many different ROM's. Most of them are stable, check the 1st post to see what's working, what's not. If you look at the number of views and replies on a topic, you can figure out which are the most popular. Just look for the ones with CWM or ZIP in the title, this means they're flashable through CWM. For now I'd start with Froyo (Android 2.2.x) as they're probably best to begin with (most stable).
Sincerely,
Mac
