As written in topic, phone boots when usb plugged in. Cant charge for battery calibration.
Using magldr, cwm, hyperdroid cm7.

phone cannot charge when powered off when magldr is installed.
magldr starts the phone when it detects power so that charging can start.
That is a Magldr feature.
It boots the phone so it charges. CLK will go into a charging only mode.
Just let it charge all the way to 100% and look in the hyperdroid thread for more details on the battery calibration.
So no way to charge when magldr is installed?
Thx sofar!
Is it kernel specific how to calibrate then?

Nope, no way to charge when phone is off unless using CLK (or SD Android of course). Not kernel related as far as I know and I was wondering about the battery calibration as well. Maybe it will work with the phone on as well?
Well, best way I found is recharge when in Android, unplug, switch off, plug, charge until full again, reboot. This will overwrite Android setting for max capacity.
I dont want to set the values manual, cause u never know what cap.the new battery really has.

Btw. I am open for other suggestions as well!

Does anyone know how to calibrate the battery? I tried the clockwork recovery method but it doesn't seem to do anything. Today I drain my phone battery until it wont turn on anymore then I plug to the wall and boot the phone up, the system said I still have 33% left. What is going on?

I have flashed Android 2.2 on my HD2 and I have a little problem. Everytime I turn off my phone I have to take out the battery and put it back in to to turn it back on. Any suggestions on what I should do?
No Thanks! I've already have a penguin.
Are you charging the phone? If so unplug it and start the phone

known problem with magldr. if you charge the phone while shudown you will need to pull the battery
The USB charger just doesn't ever charge! It doesn't matter whether I connect using the wall plug or through my computer - the little charging symbol comes up (in Android in the battery notification area) but that only lasts for few seconds, then SpareParts App says the battery is discharging... SpareParts App also says that both batteries I'm using are "overheated" and the temperature is "-11degrees celsius" and never changes from that.
Since I bought the phone just under a year ago I've actually been using 2 (stock HTC) batteries with a separate battery charger, and that's why I'm still able to use the phone - once one battery discharges, I just recharge it using the separate battery charger, then swap in the other one. Haven't had any problems until now...
This only started happening just before I went from using MDJ's Cyanogen Mod to Pongster's Hyperdroid. I can't remember for sure but it seemed to start happening after I upgraded from MAGLDR 1.12 to 1.13.
Pongster's Hyperdroid GBX v8 Clockwork Mod
Radio: 2.15
SPL: HSPL 2.08
MAGLDR 1.13
SpareParts says:
Battery health: Overheat
Battery voltage: 4221 mV
Battery temperature: -110V
Really hope someone can help!
Cheers.
did u tried to flash WM stock ROM back ?
If not try it and see if the phone charge under WM stock. If yes u saved but if no than u have a hardware problem
Thanks for the quick reply.
But if I flash back to WMROM, won't that just fix charging for WM? I don't want to go back to that useless OS at all, so I need a fix that allows me to charge under Android...
well, i don't mean u have to stay on WM. Flash it back just to see if is all ok under original WM and if yest than u can flash Android back cos it would mean your phone (hardware) is ok and u have problem only with your Android ROM.

thanks il give it a try
I have the same symptoms. I'm testing with UltimateDroid 3.3 in combination with CWM 3.0.2.4. I thought it might have to do with the bootloader cLK that I recently installen. But now I have tested it also with Magldr and the problem remains.
I checked with charging through the PC, with the wall plug and USB cable and with another charger with micro USB.
Any suggestions?
Check for pocket lint or other funk in your micro usb slot.

Update: I flashed back WinMo stock Rom. The problem was still there. Battery doesn't charge (although the LED is flashing). I got it back to the shop and it is now in repair.
Hi guys,
So I've currently got typhoon cyanogen mod7 nightly's 3.3.2 flashed and had previous versions since then.
However whenever I power the phone off it will turn itself on again, even if the battery dies down completely and I plug the charger in it will turn on.
Any ideas? Not a huge problem but I want to recon the battery.
Thanks guys

its not a bug, its meant to do that because the phone wont charge when turned off under magldr, so magldr detects the power connection and starts teh phone so it can charge.

Ah that makes sense, I guess there's no way to disable it then, unless I flash with cLK? Or is that the same?
I am also facing the same issues?

Yes cLK has charging when off.

Read the above posts.
Yea clk charges when off, but seems to have less stable data. I haven't tried it though, so can't comment.
Hi all,
I have 2 HTC HD2s. I have had the first one for a couple years now, flashed with magldr 1.13, cwm, and an Android Nexus One NAND rom installed. The second HD2, which I just flashed, has the same setup. However, the second HD2 will autopower on when you shut the phone down, where the first one will stay powered off. Any fixes or suggestions that I could try? Thanks, guys.
Check the battery pins on the back of your phone, and make sure they are straight.
Also, remove battery, plug into charger, wait, wait, put battery back in, magldr will boot, then android, remove charging cable, power off. ()
Ok so following the above-mentioned instructions, it turns off. However if I then plug in my phone, it turns on automatically lol weird. Is this typical behavior? My other HD2 doesn't have this problem.

This is standard magldr behavior. Use clk if you want the power off feature while plugged in.
Thank you
