Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum. Recently got a Nexus S i9023, very happy with the phone. Messing around with custom ROMs, currently running latest NSCollab with latest matr1x kernel, 9.5.
Any suggestion from others who have the same setup? Curious about battery life, as I seem to not get the same average-use runtimes as others who post in the dev forum.
Thanks for feedback!
You're running the same setup that I am, and my phone easily runs 20+ hrs with the stock battery.
I run 100/1000 mhz, smartassv2, -35mV undervolt, deep idle enabled. I'm a bit more active in power management than others; leave 3G off unless I need it, use only wifi while at home, and decrease screen brightness to bare minimum.
Usually take advantage of power conserving tricks such as dark wallpaper, inverted browser colors, minimal widgets, etc.

I am lazier than you- won't probably start switching 3G on and off. I switch it to 2G when the battery is down and I can't get to a charger.
WiFi on only as needed of course. Will play with undervolting soon.
DeepIdle though- it should be the ONE thing that extends the battery by hours, although I can't seem to see the benefit. Idle drainage is still 4%-5% every hour. Does it seem normal to you?
No, that's not normal. Check to see if deep idle is enabled and check for any misbehaving apps. My battery usage flatlines when the screen is off.
You can also try Juice Defender for automatic power management. It turns off the 3G radio when the screen is off, but still lets apps and email sync when they need to.

Great screenshot suggestion, got that battery monitoring tool. Will report back.
What app should I use for detecting high unusual CPU usages? Any specific good one in mind? I find that everything seems normal in the built-in Android battery statistics info panel...
Also, how do you feel about the battery charge "fix" that allows the battery to reach 100%? Does your 9.0 kernel have the patch too? I read different opinions about that, I don't mind some extra juice but I wouldn't want to see the battery deteriorate, since I often leave it plugged overnight.
Or maybe it's a fix in the sense that it shows 100% but it still charges to less than that?
You can click "Usage" and/or "Statistics" in BMW to see what's been using power. SystemPanel is also a good monitoring app, but it's a paid app.
Matr1x 9.0 does have the 100% battery charge feature (I'm currently using 9.5) but I'm not sure if it truly fills the battery cells or if it's just a percentage display trick. My battery charges to 100%, 1440mAh, and 4,187mV so I think that's a true full charge.
I'm still new to the Nexus, so I've not yet learned all the quirks and minutiae of this phone. Coming from the Evo 4g and I just switched to nexus a few weeks ago.

At idle time, phone still consumes more or less 15-20 mA, as evident from the graph. Yours seems to absolutely not drain current at all (your charge stays at 100% and your mA graph is at 0 for a good two hours)!
You could post a screenshot of your detailed battery history readings (bottom left button "History") when you have a chance. Just out of curiosity.
Thanks for the info you gave me so far!
-15 or so mA is not unusual at idle. Mine actually runs around -5 at rest. My Evo wouldn't go any lower than -16mA.
Been using the phone nonstop tonight, so I scrolled back a bit to find an idle period in the history. Sorry for so many data points... it updates every two minutes.

Welcome!
Pleased to meet you!
Braneless, thanks for posting. Now are those idle battery drains with data on? On wifi, or 3G, or 2G, or what? All other connections off?
I use 3G only when I'm out and about, but wifi is on at all times when I'm home. WiFi radio draws a fraction of the power that 3G does, so I just leave it connected.
In other words, the battery history figures are with 3G off and wifi on (set to never sleep with screen off).
Setting wifi to never sleep prevented random reboots with certain roms for the Evo - I just carried that practice over... not even sure if it's necessary for the Nexus.
I use NexusMV with latest Matr1x kernel and I use 1% overnight with airplane mode on.
After 24h I still have 58% left right now
Bad news.

I was testing idle battery drain again tonight. Got a system hang of some sort, had to pull the battery. Phone didn't come off of sleep. I was testing with WiFi off and 2G only. As you can see the battery went down 35% during the system hang, in just little over an hour.
I also noticed I don't get anywhere close to only 5mA drain in idle, even with just WiFi on, like braneless. Again, running latest NSCollab ROM with latest Matr1x kernel, 9.5.
Have you tried checking if there is this file in "/sys/class/misc/deepidle/enabled", it should be 1 if enabled, 0 if disabled.
I think that in some versions of the kernel deep idle would be implemented but not enabled by default.

This system hang is the reason why I left NSCollab. Too many times I woke up with my device not waking up (note: the alarm wouldn't go off either)
There's more people reporting the same issue on NSCollab, no idea what causes it though.

Did you undervolt the kernel? I had the same issue when I was running an aggressive -75mV, but it completely disappeared when I reduced it to -25mV.

Matr1x 9.5 is an undervolted kernel, if I remember correctly, -35 mV. I flashed franco.kernel this morning to give it a try, seems like it has more recent bug fixes for deepidle mod. And is not UVed by default. I'll see what happens, and how's battery life with no UV.
Still wondering how braneless got just 5mA drain in idle. Would like to have his exact ROM/kernel/settings/tweaks/OC-UV setup posted!
You can also increase voltages using Proton Control.
My setup is pretty simple;
NSCollab Sprint 1.0.51
Matr1x 9.5, -25mV, smartassv2, deep idle enabled
ADW Ex launcher
Screen brightness set to 10%
3G off nearly all the time
WiFi used whenever I'm home
Autosync off, sync mail/cal. manually
That's it! Keep in mind that all phones and their chips are not built entirely the same due to manufacturing tolerances. Some phones can handle varying degrees of undervolt, underclock, overclock, etc. Power drain will vary as well.
Here's my battery summary screen, so you can get an idea of what's consuming my battery:

Sorry that was a separate issue I made that reply about, where adb wasn't finding the phone. Resetting my computer fixed it.
I'm going back to Netarchy 4.1.8 and disabling SetCPU first, then if that doesn't work will do a full wipe, reflash Fresh and restore from my Titanium backup. If THAT doesn't work I'll flash Froyo Fusion and go back to stock HTC kernel.
To me, what's interesting isn't necessarily the drainage itself (as crazy as as that drainage is), but the fact that the drainage isn't tied to any device or cpu usage. How does that happen?
Normally, wouldn't you see matching peaks? At least between CPU and battery?

That's my expectation as well, hence the kernel rollback and SetCPU disabling, as those are the only components I can identify that would have a passive influence resulting in the uncoupled usage/drainage.
Just to report back, did a full wipe and reflashed Fresh 3.2.0 and netarchy 1.8 and drainage seems to be back to normal. I'll stick with this for now, or maybe go to nerachy 1.9 beta to try the addtitional power savings of HAVS since it's an easy rollback.
I've paid attention to all of the threads about battery life. I've done my best to optimize my device for maximum battery life but I can't believe what I'm seeing. Last night, I left my house at 5:30 with a fully charged device for a block party. At 10:30 last night my battstat widget had my battery life at 83%. I am using setcpu for screen off profiles and a few others. I have wifi and 4g off, always on days unchecked, Google Talk auto sign in unchecked and only received about 15 emails (screen was off the rest of the time).
I am rooted with baked snack 1.7 with kernel #6. What gives? Just since typing this post it has dropped to 78%. Turned screen off overnight and woke up to 51%. This is crazy.
What about your roaming setting? I would assume it has something to do with trying to find a signal also. I would suggest turning off everything. No widgets, no nothing. Run the phone for only two days with nothing on. I would go as to even turning the airplane mode on and running basic phone for a day. If that doesn't work then its the ROM or you didn't fully stop a app or delete it.
If you want it fixed you are going to have to put in some serious testing time. I'm amazed that no one has made a diagnostic app yet.

That's not bad. The phone really only goes to about 90% charge at most unless you use the calibration method to charge all the cells. So after 18 hours it was down about half.
Check your Accounts/Sync settings and turn off Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Google Calendar, etc. syncing.

Stay away from fancy kernels that claim to have BFS, HAVS, WTF, BBQ and simply stick with Netarchy's 4.1.8 CFS Kernel. Also, don't use SetCPU, contrary to popular belief, it does NOT help with the battery at all,in fact it makes it worse. Do that and then report back. I'm sure you will notice a major improvement
Try turning your data completely off. A lot of apps automatically have access to certain functions of your phone and will tend to run in the background even after you "kill" them. With your 3g off they will not be able to do this. I've found that 3g is the main source of battery depletion and if you're like me and have way too many apps either use your power widget and turn off 3g/data or roll with a charger everywhere you go.

Nah, I was sleeping and I charge my phone by my window in midtown Manhattan. Full bars all night.
Install Spare Parts. Look up battery usage and check partial wake usage. Something is keeping your phone awake when it should not be.
I've had similar battery drain issues when using profiles under setcpu. If I disable those my battery usage tapers off to a much more predictable state. Although Google Earth requires a reboot for some reason before it stops sucking down the juice.
CM6, snap 7.6 CFS
ditch setcpu, its not needed with the new 3.28 base. With juice defender on and light/medium usage i can get about 24 hours per charge
I wanted to gauge battery life and stability on the CM7 Nightlys. So post your vote and then make a reply with the following info:

Sure sounds like it: I can't think of anything else Tasker does that would suck up that much power. I would suggest you refine your location profiles to use non-GPS methods (such as the Wi-Fi Near state).
If Tasker is trying to lock down a GPS location and you're indoors (or somewhere else where GPS reception is poor), that is a sure fire recipe for bleeding your battery.

Got a NC for xmas and rooted it and installed cm7.1 and everything seems to be working well except the battery. I went under battery use and i see that Display is eating about 60% of my battery! I turned brightness down to 25%-ish and i have also turned off everything i am not using but the problem still persists. I have seen people saying i need to do some kind of battery calibration but i do not know how to do this. If someone can help me get this issue resolved it would be greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, you can only do so much about screen battery consumption. Turn brightness down as far as is comfortable, but personally, I don't want to give up the vibrant display. I find 25% is usually adequate indoors. With my screen ON, it consumes roughly 10% per hour of use, which equates to 8-10 hours of use -- not bad. With the screen OFF, it sips less than 1% per hour, and often less than that over a few hours.
Keep in mind, you WANT screen battery consumption to be the largest value. That means it's nice and idle when you're not using it. If something else is using a significant amount of battery, that may be something you can do something about.
As to calibration, I do find that Android battery gauges often are incorrect until you let the battery completely discharge from a full charge once. Then it's calibrated correctly. Of course, that's not recommended for battery health, so don't do it compulsively. I had a device that showed 1% battery remaining for 3 hours while I played MP3 audio.
I wish i was getting 10% an hour, im getting roughly 20% I now have another issue that i did not have this morning, i can not connect to my computer via USB. Is there a setting i might have turned off in my fit to increase battery life?
@Lsjreadingpa Renaming /system/app/phone.apk to phone.bak is a commonly undertaken act that can significantly lower battery usage. Also, you can turn off Account Sync when not using it actively, as it increases battery drain when you are not actively using the NC.
As far as the USB is concerned, make sure you have USB debugging checked in the settings menu.

You can use Spare Parts to check what's consuming battery if your DOMAIN supports it.
Anyone able to help?
Are you concerned about battery consumption while you're using it? If so, then your brightness and the applications you're running are going to determine your battery life.
If it's battery consumption while idle (screen off) that you're concerned about, then do you have any widgets that do network access? I found that my battery life dramatically improved when I was no longer using the Twitter widget.
In Spare Parts you can go to Battery History, then check 'Partial Wake Usage'... this can help you figure out if there's an application that's preventing the device from going to sleep.
I would recommend trying a newer nightly or the Mirage/Kang build found in the Android Dev sub-forum here. I forget when they were added, but there were a few big improvements to CM7 a while ago to help with battery life.
Battery consumption while using it is kinda of scary because it drops like a brick. While sleeping, which i don't think it was doing, seemed to get better after i removed beautiful widgets. How different is the Kang build?
The Kang build has an updated kernel and other updates since the last CM7 nightly. It's supposed to fix an SOD issue. I've been running it for a while and am very happy with the battery life.
Like others have said, battery life while using it would most likely be helped by adjusting the display brightness, kernel settings and/or stopping "rogue" apps. You can see the kernel settings by going into the Settings Menu, then Cyanogenmod Settings then Performance. I use the InteractiveX governor (I believe "Performance" is the one that keeps the CPU ramped up constantly) with the highest overclock.
This thread is to discus extremely poor battery life on the Nexus S. When we say extremely poor, we mean averaging <24 hours per charge at idle.
After much research I think it's safe to say that some of us are experiencing extremely poor or contrarily, extremely good battery life and no one seems to have an explanation. I'm hoping this thread will find the answer.
The issue:
Many NS users are experiencing extremely poor battery life regardless of:
Rom installed
Apps installed
Installation method
Battery used
Charging method/battery training
Phone usage
Power configuration/tweaks
When we say "extremely poor" we mean <24 hours at idle, but many users are getting less than 8h/C at idle.
I personally have tested this against several ROMS both GB and ICS. We all see slightly better battery performance with GB ROMS, but never greater than 24h/charge.
My ROM history:
Tested the following ROMS for 4 days each, following the same installation procedure each time.
CM7 (nightly/stable) - ~15h/[email protected]
CM9 - ~13h/[email protected]
CyberGR .v4.5 - ~11h/[email protected]
CyberGR .v5.0 - ~11h/[email protected]
Installation method:
Wipe battery stats
Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition
Flash Dalvik-wiper.zip and wipe Dalvik Cache
Wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition again
Format /system/data/cache/boot/sdcard
Flash ROM
Flash Gapps if applicable (CyberGR comes with Gapps installed)
I was running an AUCKF1 Radio for all tests. I did try a few other radio's but did not see any noticeable increase in battery life *edit-flashed XXXKB3 and may have increased my idle time by 6x? still testing*
I've also never personally seen an NS get >24h/C, and I've deployed >40 of them to customers. I've only ever heard of >24h/C here on the forums where it seems quite common.
I've seen reports of users flashing the OTA automatically or manually, and some experience <8h/[email protected] while others see >3d/[email protected] I've also tested the OTA and never saw better than 13h/[email protected]
So, we're trying to find the common denominator between those with good battery performance vs. those with poor performance.
Suspects:
Android OS is almost always reported to be active/awake for at least 50% of the time, even at idle on a brand new clean install. It is always the highest consumer of battery, always keeps the CPU awake.
I propose the following test:
Regardless of your setup, if you are experiencing >2d/[email protected] or with use, please post the following:
Phone model (ie: i9020a, i9020t...)
ROM
Radio version
Installation method
Screenshot of your battery monitor from a full charge over a minimum of 10 hours.
Screenshot of your battery use by application/service (we notice that Android OS seems to be the culprit in most cases of poor performance)
For those getting <1d/[email protected], please do the following and then post the same as above:
Note: This should be done overnight.
Follow the above flash instructions and flash whatever ROM you please.
Reboot to recovery and wipe your battery stats.
Power off your handset and give it a full charge while powered off.
On first reboot, sign into a single Google account but do not restore your apps/backups and disable Google sync.
Do not install any additional applications.
Enable wifi/bt/gps/data/sync and associate to a wireless network
Do not modify any power settings.
Leave your handset to idle overnight for at least 8 hours without touching anything.
In the morning, take a screenshot of your battery use as well as battery use by application/service.
Post Phone model, ROM, Radio version, Carrier, and Screenshots.
I recognize that there is some argument about how fast your battery will re-train itself after wiping battery stats. In my experience the training seems to be optimal after 1 full charge to full discharge cycle, but ultimately I've never seen further training result in >24h/C. Someone please let me know if there's a more accurate way to test this? Maybe we shouldn't be wiping battery stats at all?
I'll get us started.
Sorry, didn't get screenshots after 8 hours because my battery wouldn't last that long.

With light to moderate use, I get 6-10h/C
Hey Ben i just did what you did in the other thread. full charge everything on kill all unneeded services.
I'll admit that i forgot to kill extra services and it plummeted my battery to 92% in about 45min. I had an "oh ****" moment and went and killed the random apps.
Im at 2 hours extra now and lost 3% only, everything still on.
So with that info i'll mention this for me would be considered heavy usage. I'll never have everything on constantly. When I was posting up my results of light usage and getting 3 days - note that i had everything firewalled while on 3G except for my emails and messaging and took a few calls only. everything else was off.
I'm gonna guess that with it all on and actually using the phone i'll hit at most 10 hours, probably not even that.
So that basically puts us about even. I'm curious if you do my light tests...will you be seeing 3 days also ? If yes then we can rule out models basically.
Flashed XXXKB3, factory reset (according to OP instructions), flashed CyberGR .v5 again, signed into one Google account, disabled Google sync+backup, enabled and connected to wifi, bt/gps/everything on, then left my phone overnight. Results.
Looks ****in' Gooood. 1.2%/[email protected] draw.
But then, opened my screen once, played some tunes through BT to my truck, drove around for 13 minutes, went back in the house and left the phone idling again and look at the drop! It's continued to draw like this all day now, just idling. I've done NOTHING but play 13 minutes of music and then back to idle.
What's DOES IT MEAN??!!
So I rebooted my phone and let it idle again without touching anything, and still seeing the wicked battery draw. I dunno wtf to think here, and I can't get the draw back down to 1%/[email protected]
*edit* For the sake of 100% transparency, while the phone was idling at 1%/h overnight, I was far enough away from the wifi AP i'd associtated to, that it MAY have lost signal and given up, so perhaps the wifi hardware finally went to sleep. Does anyone know if wpa_supplicant (or whatever controls wifi in Android) runs is represented by AndroidOS?

Oh. Dur...
I think that may be it. Wifi was probably dis-associated overnight. You can see at the very beginning of the battery recording, there's a sharp dip in charge for about 15 minutes, which corresponds directly to Wifi association, then the draw goes nearly flat (1%/h) for 10.5 hours and the Wifi is not associated.
Testing now... Leaving Wifi on, but dis-associated. See if that nice flat line comes back.

This is a normal night of going out, connecting with friends, a bit of music before. A weekend for when it is most important, these are the results. I forgot to photo the android os but it said it was awake, cpu for 4 hrs.
Regarding the Android OS being highest battery consumer, it might be false alarm:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456265
Although still, that hasn't explained the high drain (<10h/day) you're experiencing.
In your first set of screencaps (the 2h30m one) it seems obvious that the culprit is Mediaserver and Google+? One of the most annoying things about ICS that I found is that after flashing ROMs or kernels, Google-Photos have a tendency to enable sync behind our backs. Someone in my local forum discovered when he logged in G+ in his PC that the pictures in his Nexus S had suddenly shown up in the G+ account even though he never uploaded them there. After he disabled that sync, his battery life improved. As a result, I've grown OCD about checking my sync settings every once in a while. The Google-Photos option doesn't always show right away when we set up a new Google account.

Phone model and radio?
I'm back to 1%/[email protected] with everything but wifi enabled.
All sync settings enabled with no sync delay.
G+/data/gallery sync all enabled for 3 accounts. Receiving about 30 emails in 14.5 hours overnight. This should work out to 111h/[email protected]
The question here for me is that I thought Wifi would use less power than 3G given it's such lower range. I thought that when Wifi was associated that your 3G would automatically disconnect, thus using less power when associated to a Wifi AP than when connected to 3G.
Am I mistaken in this? Is this not the desired operation?
*edit* It may be looking like my draw increased by about 8x as soon as I opened the screen for the first time this morning, and hasn't dropped back down to the 1%/h. Right now it seems to be at about 10%/h again, though I'll report back on this later today.

I'm getting the same...
power drain increases for dunno whatever reason...
right after a reboot it goes ok if I do not touch it... as soon (or five minutes later) as I start playing with it the power drain increases a lot and android OS takes over any other service...
generally to test I wipe the battery stats before booting from recovery...
maybe we should check in logcat what trigger the high android OS usage?

I've checked logcat/dmesg and haven't seen anything super suspect (to my somewhat untrained Android eyes). I have done a tonne of power management scripting/troubleshooting in laptops and other mobile devices but this is really my first serious foray into Android PM, so I may be missing something.

As I said, stock settings from CyberGR .v5. Signed in to all three Google accounts and left sync enabled. Turned off Wifi but left everything else enabled.
Drove around (phone paired to my truck for music) for a few hours today, light/moderate use, and I'm currently sitting at 69% battery remaining, coming up on 24 hours on battery. Realistically, this is probably a little lighter use than normal for me, plus I usually plug in when I'm in the Jeep as I'm running not only music over BT to my Jeep, but also streaming OBDii data from my ECU to Torque (and my screen is usually on full time while driving as I like to keep track of my mileage (troubleshooting fuel efficiency as well ).
So all said, stock settings with CyberGr, Radio XXXKB3, Wifi off, everything else on, and I should easily get 2 full days of light use.
Now that said, I'm still waiting for someone getting 3-5 days to chime in. I still feel something isn't quite right.
Wow. Practically the same as myself but my battery is now around 6-7 hrs before I need a charge. I will have to buy a new battery and see if that is the culprit. Over even just flash CM9 instead, who knows..

I doubt it's a bad battery. You're seeing the same life I was before I flashed the XXXKB3 radio and re-installed the ROM properly. Follow the installation instructions from the OP and see if that solves your problem.
After looking at an earlier shot here I notice my android os stays on most of the time hence my bad battery. How do I get it to sleep?

So does mine, but it is not an accurate reflection of battery drain, per android engineer Dianne Hackborn. Look at the Android OS percentage in my screen shots - it doesn't matter.
For those with excessive battery drain: install Battery Monitor Widget and Better Battery Stats from the market. Those two apps should provide all the data you need to troubleshoot poor performance.
Also, check your signal strength. Weak reception will drain your battery in a hurry.
I am experiencing a weird issue with my Battery Drain. I am on PA3.1 and since the time i have installed the ROM i am experiencing an overnight drain of about 14% - 18. However yesterday my battery fell to almost 33% overnight with the same config. today also it is behaving weird with 1% drain per minute of browsing.
Also i am not able to understand as to why SetCPU & Trickster are showing different values of Min Freq. (I might have done something unknowingly or am i missing something here)
the pics are attached for reference as i could not make out anything out of these....
The first pic is the earlier one -- at this point i was thinking of how to improve the situation and now it has gone all the more worse
i had the same happening to me out of the blue. i had a couple of apps installed that recently got updatedand and caused a mess. line for instance and a couple of deskclock add-ins.
check this stuff - delete apps that cause trouble. line for instance lost me as a customer
heres a diagram, that thing sucked away 30% overnight

normal for this rom is 1-2% . after i deleted these apps its almost flatlining (each gap is a night in airplane mode)
i would also recommend not fooling aroundwith the kernel. stay stock, googles kernel is great. there is absolutely no need for custom kernels unless you're missing key functionality like tap to wake, fast-charge or whatever.
Download "Greenify". It'll stop all those apps from waking up without your knowledge and hibernate them.

Looking at the graph i dont think it was some app as i have not installed any new app in between.
(though i will monitor closely the wake locks). Also from the beginning when i updated to PA the battery drain overnight has been ~18%.
Already have Greenify working for me
Also please give a view as to why SetCPU & Trickster are showing different values for minimum.

Okk last night i kept my phone on WiFi and the discharge was only 5%. So it seems that 3G is taking a lot of battery. Wake lock app do not show any wierd app as such. With the graphs that i posted could someone get an idea as to what is happening.....
And to repeat why SetCPU & Trickster are showing different values????
The same thing happened to me yesterday. Just out of the blue my battery was dropping around 1-2% a minute also. I'm on PA 3.1 too. I charged fully and did battery calibration this morning and it seems to be running a little better but still not great battery.
It's worth noting that when this happened i took my SIM out and put in my S3 (since I wasnt going to be near a charger and my batter was already at 50% after 3 hours of being off charge). When i came back home about 6 hours later it had not even dropped 1%. So I also think it is related to the 3G network
I'm almost 100% sure it's an app. I've been there before and at the end it always is an app. Doesn't really matter if u installed it just yet or weeks ago. I used for example widget locker for some days with no problem and suddenly it prevents my phone from sleeping and just drained it like hell.
Just try to find that bad app! I'm sure its there.

If you are getting kernel wakelocks then it's NOT an app that is causing the problem.

So what are u saying? If u get kernel wakelocks it can't be an app causing the battery to drain?
If u check CPU spy i think u will see that your phone won't go into deep sleep. Caused by an APP and not kernel related.

Did you make a clean install ?
Try another kernel, i personally prefer it stock, franco is a great alternative.
Yeah idk what it is either. I had Paranoidandroid 3.15 running on my nexus for about 2 days, with custom kernel in WHEATLEY mode. Battery life was atrocious. It would only stay alive maybe 6-8 hours before I needed a charge. Switched back to CM10.1, same custom kernel with WHEATLEY, Ran my phone for 15 hours last night, and battery level was still at 60%. Not going back to PA

I did, I some much did it. I do not remember any more which one gave the best/worst result.
Tried AOKP, CM, PA with Franco, Matrix Kernels. Still no result for the sleep (overnight) drains.
Or I think I should stop comparing battery behavior with my old Gnex.
Install stock ROM and kernel. Wipe everything!!!! Data cache dalvik cache etc etc. And start without installing apps and try this for at least 3 days.... If problem is still there you probably have a faulty battery.... If not , it must be an app giving u so much drain.
Other solution is get CPU spy and check if your phone goes into deep sleep. If its not going into sleep then u have found your problem... Next is to find the app that's keeping your device awake....

I will try your suggestions, thanks a lot.
1. Which CPU Spy do you recommend? There are a lot of apps in the play store with the same name.
2. FYI, Using CM 10.1 and kernel, I have disabled Wi-fi, Auto-Sync, Greenified everything except Whatsapp, Facebook and Gmail, and %25 of the battery lost overnight.

1. Doesn't really matter, as long as you can see if the phone goes into deep sleep. Try CPU spy plus free. You see all your frequencies and at the bottom deep sleep.
2. Sometimes trying to hard make thing worse and doesn't help finding the solution.
I've got the same problem and after a few days of search I found the bad app....... Widget locker kept my phone awake all day!
Deleted it and back was my battery life

Try running something more stable besides experimental builds with potential bugs/leaks/drains if you have to depend on your phone in order wake up and keep your job... I'd recommend also buying a real alarm clock otherwise..
