Hi
My UK Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wifi P7510 is receiving an update today, not sure if anyone has checked for updates yet?
I used the Settings/About/Software Updates on the Tab and it said there was no updates available but when I connected through Kies it said there was an update and it is firmware KH3
Currently downloading...
EDIT: Still v3.1...

Anything else noted yet?
Whats different in it?
I got it too. Before I go ahead, does it wipe everything?
Samsung's firmware coding is wierd. KH3 for the UK (XEU) might be newer than the recently released KI1 even though "I" would appear to be a later release then "H." For the SGS2, what appeared as a newer code released for specific regions actually contained older software. I bet KH3 is the new shipping ROM as the 32GB and 64GB 7500's just started being received by resellers at the end of last week.
This is old, but it explains Samsung's logic...
http://samsungi8510.com/forum/how-samsung-firmware-versioning-works-t235.html
Doesn't wipe anything as you do it through Kies though I may end up doing a factory reset if the FC issues continue!
gapps and something with una on the end are FC regularly, don't know the reason yet.
Text had a sharper edge to it with black haloes but after fiddling with fonts and the auto screen power it all came better aliased again so don't know the reason.
Browser has been updated, now seems smoother, better flash performance I think though flash was updated to 11 this week so hard to tell.
The browser bug has happened where the page flicks about with blank areas but clearing the cache sorted that and it didn't in the previous firmware so maybe that is just old cache ??
Live wallpaper is better for screen scrolling though still noticeable.
------------UPDATE---------
It's an update, so I will see how it goes, very very early to tell yet, things are starting to settle down...
OK, the screen is MUCH more responsive. I just tested antipaper notes and writing is very fast and accurate. A big improvement on previous firmware. I have the Autodesk drawing app too, Sketchbook Pro - working much better.
Can someone pull the build.prop? There is a "KH5" already in the dev section (build date: Aug 18) and I'm wondering how "fresh" KH3 is.
I have kh5 and use to have kme
I can say this release is much more responsive no lag at all
Its more fluid than tasks roms
I flashed via odin
So yes just dump the build props
And is recovery 3e??

Nothing for me?
I had to accept the Kies update and then the firmware for the Tab, all installed fine. I tried a few Quadrant benchmark tests and also with Linpack. To be fair, I haven't a clue what my Tab would have scored before the update, so the results are likely a waste of time. The results don't look anything special though.
Quadrant

2 - 2349
3 - 2420
4 - 2451
Linpack
MFLOPS: 56.391

Norm Res: 3.20

It's newer than yours, but not that fresh:
ro.build.date=Fri Aug 26 16:28:07 KST 2011
After I updated, I got force close on the Samsung UNA app. The solution was to go to apps management and clear out cache and data from com.samsung.apps.una and Samsung Apps, no more FC now.
An other side-effect is that I can't connect to Kies now. It stays at 'connected', but never actually connects... haven't found a solution yet.
Otherwise it seems ok, but not a jaw-dropping improvement from KG8..

cant wait till this becomes a flashable odin rom
though KH5 is day and night in performance compare to KME
No update for me so if someone could upload the files, it would be great.
Stupid kies not finding my tab!
* shakes fist at Kies *
Same here, but oddly it connects to Kies just fine wirelessly. Samsung might make good hardware, but that Kies is crap.
It tells me "This version of the device cannot be updated" whatever that means. Should I return my tab?

Sounds good. Waiting for a cwm flashable update, that won't touch my bootloaders.
just upgraded to kh3 ( stock, not rooted ) myself...
no more crashes in market when scrolling the search results in the book section
touch screen feels more responsive and accurate ( mainly noticed it with keyboard usage )
alot less or no lag
apps seem to load faster.
the auto brightness seems to react abit faster ( going darker or lighter... faster )
more free memory... before it was between 80 - 127... I have 200~ now
this ain't no placebo effect... I've used this tab between 4 - 8 hours a day since the day I bought it
only thing I'm wondering now is have they fixed the "android.process.media" high cpu usage problem...

This happened to me with old version of kies. Remove kies. Resrart the tab then install the newest version for kies. Restart. Your computer and it should work

While reading trough my huge list of RSS feeds, i've found this news posted just few hours ago: linkhttp://www.sizzledcore.com/2010/09/11/flash-player-10-1-for-samsung-galaxy-s-released-download-now-from-android-market/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+SizzledCore+(Sizzled+Core)
The Author says that Today, Google has released Flash Player 10.1 For Samsung Galaxy S and it is available in the Android Market.
No Changelog provided.
I guess it's for JPC Users. Did you received the update? Is there any news or performance boost? It seems to be a version developed just for our device.
Let us know
I can confirm it. Updating it now, on JPC firmware. Will check for performance boost, it was pretty terrible for watching video before.
Edit: Still terrible in DolphinHD web browser. Not much use in the stock browser since JPC firmware removed the user agent setting.
Tested in some, err, adult site. Youtube seems like a pointless test since the Youtube app is better to use.
Third sign that froyo is coming (I confirm available on jpc)
Screenshots posted on that post. And it's only available for JPC for now.
Not sure we need signs that Froyo is coming, Samsung already said it was..
Also keep in mind though, it doesn't mean JPC is final, and it's still recommended people use kies (especially since some people appear to have been getting corrupt IMEI's after downgrading)

Well some people say that Samsung wasn't going to release froyo in time but maybe during october and those signs seems to show that they where/are wrong
videos run fine in flash except ones when it says "unoptimized for mobile" then performance is bad (1 frame every 2 sec or so)
i have 10.1 beta i grabbed somewhere in the forums, i suppose final is similar

Why not use my patched stock browser with useragent setting..
It was available in google market for JP3 aaages ago aswell. So nothing new here.
That being said, there are other signs pointing towards froyo soon hehe
Odd way how things go...
They officialy release flash while 2.2 isn't even out yet...
Samsung said it would be released in september but i wouldn't be suprised if it took them 2 more months before they release it.
2.2 is out for many other devices
Galaxy S is not the only Android phone you know? LOL

I update my SGS I9000 two days ago to JV1 and so far there are only but problems. For example low ram, quick temp rising, slow loading time, lots of lags, and have removed the battery more than 20 times to make it work and a couple of non-booting problems...
edited : sorry wrong forum .
thanks man didnt know that (should have noticed though)
You do understand it is BETA right? alot of people do not understand this.... it means its in a testing stage and from posts 2.3.2 is at a very early stage.
No **** you have problems! Did you read the information accompanying the firmware leak? It clearly indicated that it was a early BETA firmware that will have issues.
Try webstar1 rom. Stable and smooth.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Have you tried to reinstall and factory reset? I installed JV1 and it's great. Fast and smooth.
this leaked version of gingerbread must be labeled as "test only" version.
you better wait for the final 2.3
obviously its a beta firmware, i reverted back to XWJS5. cannot stand the lags and hangs.
ps. u dont need to take out the battery, just press and hold the power button until it restart.
Beta .....
stop complaining dude. Its just a beta. i flashed it, experienced it, had some issues, flashed back to JS5 quietly. Thats it
And for ur satisfaction, yes there were heating issues. Thats the only reason y i switched back to JS5 otherwise i didnt had lag or any such other issue
The lag is because this ROM does not kill processes to free RAM as agreesively as the others. Go to the RAM tab on program monitor and do it yourself.
I've been running this ROM for 4 days and I don't see it so beta, I've seen cooked ROMs much worse than this. Most of the issues (swype, RAM management, Samsung apps not showing), have solutions that let's hope will be on the official version.
I don't mind if Samsung developers read this forum and use us as beta testers. This ROM could end being very good if they correct some stupid bugs and omissions.

A good point was made though, Samfirmware should clearly differentiate between firmware which is possibly beta, and firmware which is considered stable enough by Samsung to officially release it. Even better, they should link to forums discussing each ROM (and compile the known issues).
That would allow people to choose the latest known-stable rom easier.

Ha Ha here we go again, all Samsung firmware should be labeled as a "test only" version.
When we first got the phone and eclair ran like **** we excused it because it was a new device,
When the froyo leaks came and it ran like **** we excused it because it was beta.
When the official froyo came and it ran like **** we excused it because surely Samsung is just focusing on Gingerbread and that will be great.
Lets just call it like it is: Samsung does not know how to write a proper firmware for a mobile phone. Samsung's Gingerbread will suck hairy balls just like the roms before it

They do need to differentiate between released, and unreleased firmwares though.
Hi
today I got a new rom to my galaxy tab from samsung kise
I do not known yet if it 2.3 or not. I need recharge the battry before I can flash it.
the update did come 00:00 GMT +1 time,
keep us informed please
it was a update for 2.2
Is it jmi? My tab had that last week. Its much fuster but beware of the bootloader (easily unsigned)
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
I think its jmk. thats the latest update from samsung. Someone from netherlands posted it. Still keep us posted and give us the info.
This may well be JMK, here in the Netherlands I got that one via Kies on april the 16th. SuperOneClick rooted it succesfully. Notice: if you update via Kies this WILL install a locked boot loader, but Bootloader Patched unlocked it without problem!
It reset my home screen, and added a couple of new widgets, but nothing major. Everything works well, and feels quite smooth.
Oh, and JMK isn't Gingerbread unfortunately, it's of course still 2.2.
What is the new widget? Care to put some detail?
Sent from my Overcome 1.6.4 Galaxy Tab
What's the difference between jmi and jmk
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
It reset and rearranged my homescreens. It put an app for a Dutch newspaper on the first home screen, which I think was otherwise mostly blank apart from the Google search widget. That app is for one of the national newspapers here in the Netherlands, and it's called NRC Next. It's a system app, so you can't remove it from the Applications (you can remove it from the home screen though), and it could have been useful, but unfortunately it's just a trial version. The Task Manager widget was gone from the home screen, which was a shame as I liked that one, so I put it back (it's one of the system apps).
The second home screen now has the widget Samsung MMM (I think it's that one), and the third home screen the Daily Briefing widget. Not sure if these were there already in JJ3. There's now an Applications apps called News & Weather, which seems to be Google News. I'm not sure, but I think that one's new.
A number of system apps have been updated to the latest version, and JMK being the latest version of the software, has been tweaked and bug fixed compared to the previous official release JJ3. I guess it's the same version as the leaked JMK, so if there are known improvements for that one, they should apply to this too. I haven't tested it, but it feels quite smooth.
All the widget you mentioned is there all the while. I don't see any new widget. Anyway thanks for sharing.

2.3 official rom is already out
Asus support have just told me that there will be a new firmware release on Friday.
The release "is expected to fix a couple of issues with 3.2 (apps related)."
I've asked if it fixes the compass calibration issue. Finger's crossed!
Let's hope it doesn't break root for the rest of us

Great news. Thanks!
Let's see if I get the OTA after removing CWM.

Sounds great!
Wish the problems I got would also solved with this version.
TF101 bug list.
Firmware : official 3.2
Model: TF101 16GB
1. Static(photo) shifted to left by 2/3. The right side became black. No problem for live wallpapers.
2. Short cut on home screen became black. Widget content is also black. Became normal after reboot.
3. If apk calls YouTube apk. The screen became half dark but not freezed. But TF101 YouTube apk still work fine.
4. Sometimes got messed lines on screen lower part. Disappear after running other apk.

hopefully this will cure the dimming and apparent hang when you launch and reference an object with multiple viewers. Rotating the screen back and forth is getting a bit old.
You have to love the way Asus really stays on top of things with timely releases and bug fixes. It's why I bought an Asus instead of "that other brand".

I hope this too. I think they fixed some things while making 3G version firmware and it`s time to release them for the "regular" TF users. I hope they fix the browser because I spend 90% of my TF browsing. Hope it`s smooth and fix the rendering blocks on some sites.
I just rooted mine with Prime 1.7. It seems to be a bit laggy compared to the stock rom. How can I revert back to the stock, so that I could install this update when it comes out.

I bet there will be only one firmware for both models, WiFi only & 3G, because even the standard TF has a phone.apk.
Let's hope this time we'll see a real update. Last Friday they put 3.2 with release date 2011/08/12 on their website, but after I downloaded it to check, if it's really newer than the OTA relese, I found file date 2011/07/30 inside.
In my opinion the current release is a catastrophy, because of too many issues/bugs. That's why I refused to install it so far.
TF101 ftw!
OTA?
Is the upgrade OTA? Or will you need to do it manually?
Agreed, with the others who welcome the update, it has come pretty quickly. Making small incremental updates is the safest way to work, well done Asus.
So last night I checked on kies for the rumored march 1 Ics update.. Instead It showed an update to lb 2. Either way I updated it.. N frankly I see no changes a such between la5 and lb 2.
Also what is the point in releasing two firmwares within 15 days when Ics is set to roll just around the corner! Samsung ahold rather relocate this workforce at ics visions and make it launch sooner. I've read around the forum and I read no complaints by anyone with la 5. Why release frequent minor updates when major is set to hit soon?
Sent from my Galaxy Note using XDA premium
I think you are too optimistic about major ICS update soon.
Need not to have changes visual, if you want to say update means adding/removing application, then it is not true.
Have you marked what change in Modem?
How many application have change / modified for behaviour? there are lots of application have trigger with certain action, e.g. some application runs with connectivity change, power stat change and more. So that change log you can't see visually, but ultimately it improved android system performance, battery perfiormance, ROM management.
And yeah, all updates are voluntary.
Yeah also waiting for the official ics update.. But are a little pessimistic about the update happening soon.. I recall that samsungsaid that they first gona relesa the official for the sgs2 and after that to the note. And last info about the official update for sgs2 is set at Mars/may.. :/ i hope im wrong. .

While I empathize with your eagerness to get an ICS update (I myself am eager too) its too presuming to dismiss an update as pointless. I am sure there is more than what meets the eyes.
BTW I flashed the MIDNOTE ICS update. Its working fine for me so far and I am already loving the ICS

i see your point, however must add, it would be better if the updates were spaced evenly, in order to incorporate maximum changes in a single update. This would be better for both. the customer and samsung saving update related issues like say bricking... probably pointless is not the word..
and for ics, with la5 and lb2 rolling out at this time, i fear ics isnt gonna make it until next month.

"at this time" here this time is decided by us, not samsung, as samsung have never announce a date of release. You should not 'fear' but should 'strongly believe' that ICS for india is not on the way at least for couple of months.
Well Samsung is not updating all Notes, I am still on KKA/XEU - you guys should be happy to get official OTA update.

I agree. I dont think we will see a ICS upgrade in India before May-June 2012. If it happens by then, I will be happy.
Well you can't satisfy everyone. Too less updates ppl complain, too frequent updates ppl complain. I for one am happy there are more GB updates coming. Shows Samsung cares for their user base. Sure ics is coming but that doesn't mean they can't tweak GB more in the mean time. Btw Samsung never set a hard date for the arrival of isc, it's mostly fan speculation and I think your 1st of march was way too hopeful.
As the doc said, updating is optional and not forced upon at least
