No, we can't.
You're wrong. For example, wildfire, hero, G1, - all of this phones are better than X8 and are no so expensive (offcourse excluding G1). There running Android same like our phone.
That's only my opinion. I wanna sell my X8 and buy Hero...
@MrCzAjNiK : You are wrong, all those phones are inferior to X8 hardware wise, check them out on gsmarena.
Hey guys, I have found some information about a new SE Phone, the ST18i Urushi!
It should be available in September! It has the same hardware as the Arc. Only difference is a 3.2 inch display!
Included are android 2.3.3, an 8mp camera and HD Video recording.

I dont think that this is a good idea. I would buy an Arc or wait for better devices with dual or quadcore. I'm sure Sony will produce those too.

Who knows something about SE's plans about new phones?
it has more RAM
I'm thinking of buying the X8 as it's £99 and my iPhone 3gs is bust beyond repair (Screwed around with the baseband) So this is one of the cheapest android phones I can get hold of that I like the looks of.
Hardware: How does it compare to the iPhone and HTC Desire? I used to have the Desire before my 3gs however the X8 is £99 and I imagine it feels cheap for that price?
Software: Android v1.6 it comes with apparently. 2.1 available. With my Desire I used up to 2.2 I think before I shifted it. As far as I know it doesn't come with Sense either?
What software can I upgrade/flash it too? (Without breaking it like I commonly do with stuff)
Thanks
Nicholas-c
Rather buy some newer phone, like Huawei Sonic, or some other midrange phones that have andorid 2.2 or 2.3 and much more RAM.
The desire has Android 2.2 with Sense and a 1 GHz CPU.
The X8 has Android 2.1 with ****ty SE UI and a 600 MHz processor.
So, better don´t buy the X8.
It´s cheap, but it has an old Android version with ****ty UI, less RAM (I think it´s 128 MB) and weak CPU.
Better buy phones with a Single-Core-1GHz-CPU and 512MB RAM and GingeBread, like the Samsung Galaxy S (not the S2), the Nexus One/Nexus S and so on, as you can get them very cheap now because Dual-Core-Phones are already available.
i don't know what to tell you
Why?
i bought the x8 as to just test it as i had a 3gs
and i felt in love with it ( android )
Now i want to buy another phone
so i suggest u should 1st look for a newer decent phone
look for a 1GHZ processor i recommend
u can buy a second hand phone
Get the x10
it's not bad it self
Or get one of the new phones like NEO ARC Or play
it's all up to u !
or xperia mini or mini pro.
not the x10 mini pro.
it is only slightly expensive than x8
Honestly, don't buy the X8... I regret having bought it every time I use it... All other phones are way better even if the X8 is one of the cheapest out there.
Hello all.
Im contemplating in buying and Xperia Arc S and i've been readind this forum to see what i can do with it in terms of ROM's, Kernels... etc...
I can buy a phone like this for a lower price than in my country on Ebay but some of them are locked to a provider as O2 for example...
I«ve been reading about Rooting, Unlocking the bootlooder, CWM, costum roms, etc... but my question is:
How do i unlock the service provider to make the phone work in my country?
Thanks in advanced for all the answers
Contact jinx or allejandarismo

why do you want to buy a phone that is consider to be an old phone? you will hate Sony because of that I suggest you to buy one of the NXT phones that Sony is providing right know.
Don't get me wrong I have Xperia Arc and I love it but it does not have features that the new phones have and it kinda slow comparing to others.

You can even better buy an Xperia U for the same price. It has a dual core processor, but a smaller screen.
yes get something better with bigger ram, roms, games and daily apps used are getting a little ram-heavy. and 512mb is just too small for me right now
at 1.4ghz seems more than enough for me, yet it only seemed that these bottlenecks are caused by the ram and weak gpu
When I was buying new phone, I was choosing between HTC Sensation, Galaxy S II and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S... I chose Arc S and I still don't regret that decision.
Just saying

My friend have a samsung w. It has a 5mp camera, and he always whine about games coz samsung w is only qvga. Plus, it lags a lot, mostly while playing games. Their development is also small...

I would suggest xperia p as it is a newer device and has got a dual core processor. Also it would be about tje same price as xperia arc s

I don't think so, it should be more expensive than Arc S, but that also depends in which country do you live...
Arc specs is a bit outdated and ics is not running really smooth..
Better buy a dual/quad-core if you had more money.
ICS on my arc s works perfectly fine, I gave it to my other half when I upgraded to the xperia s n she has no lag or anything

And also dual core isnt really needed, its more getting done just cause it can, whats more needed is faster gpu and more ram

I like Xperia P too but I think Arc is a good choice for this time...
All i have right now = 430$ iknow arc s is little cheaper if i bought it from sony site but i can't due to taxes and **** so i HAVE to buy it with 430$ in my country
Btw galaxy W is cheaper than arc s and xperia P/U looks pretty ugly -_-
