You can try an app called Battery Calibration from the Market. Someone had recommended it when it helped with his incorrect battery readings.
Ok. I try battery calibration app. Thank u very much for u help.
One more question: i flash tiamat 2.2.2 and is a very good rom but when i download all my apps on market only have a problem with thinkfree, i use this app for work and i need, i pay for this app two month ago and now when i try to instal market force close, all another app restore ok. Can you go into purchase history in the market and find that app? Sometimes I have found that I can click on it and sometimes manage it and clear the cache, etc. I would start by clearing the cache and data (if you have it saved somewhere else) and see if it works OK. I'm on Moray 2.2.2. and that app works ok, I just checked.
I go to web android market and i vcan instal the app. Thank u very much for ur help and tonigh i charge battery $ hours and after see what can i do with battery app u told me. Thanks

Sorry, I forgot that that only works with a rooted device.
root checker say im root. What can i do?
If you're rooted, you should have Clockwork Mod installed. If you boot into CWM, you can reset the battery status from there. That seems to work sometimes.
Obviously he is rooted fellas if he's flashin kernels...
Try doing this
power down
charge it (while its off) till green
unplug
power on
charge it (while its on) till green
unplug
Go into recovery
Wipe battery stats
Reboot
Power on
Let it sit for a bit
**OPTIONAL**
CHARGE TO 100%
when i wipe battery stats is CWM nothing happen.

Well nothing is suppose to happen it should start to charge normally after you calibrate your battery the way I posted if it doesn't flash a different kernel
when i conect charge white light still on but when the battery have 30-50% the light flashes still white and only charge 5-10% more. Never green light last night i charge the xoom 12 hours and only charge 54%. Thanks

If all else fails flash another kernel and see if it'll charge if it doesn't there's a possibility it may be the battery but I highly doubt it lemme know for sure

As far as the kernel goes it really depends on the ROM your running what ROM are you running right now?
I use tiamat 2.2.2 moray. Thanks

Hello guys,
I have a big issue and I'm affraid not to damage my device.
Here's what's happening:
When I've first started using Android builds...my phone batt. was charging to 100%.
After testing and playing with different builds..it would only charge up to 97%.
After even more testing...it only charges up to 95%.
I've always done a task29 before installing a new ROM, I've formatted the SD card each time as well.
Do you know what is going on? I'm affraid that when I leave the phone charging, it won't stop doing it (the led is orange and the icon of charging is there) thus damaging the batt or the device.
Thank you very much for taking the time to help.

I guess the answer you're gonna get from others is "Search before asking". I won't do so though. The answer might be you are using old kernel, updating kernel should work. Alternatively, switch to WinMo and charge it to full, and boot Android.
You should not let baterry drain to 15%-20% while using Android also
Let you phone charge to 100% in WM and then boot into android.

Charge to 100% in winmo. Leave it still plugged in, and boot android. That way the 100% caries over to android.
why we not sould let batery drain to 15%-20% while using Android
???

This question is way hard for me lolz. Really, I do not know the answer, just an experience I collected from other posts. I guess draining too deep out of HD2 Android will make the battery reading function work improperly
Thanks guys!
Will check if charging to 100% in WinMo and then booting into Android works and let you know.
I'm using the latest kernel available.
some users have reported that letting the battery drain completely in android corrupts the file system on the sdcard. so best to charge when nearly empty or switch off/boot into WM until you can find a power source.
Something that worked for me!
I had the same issue. Charged till 100% for the first few days. Then it used to top at 97%...95...and finally today at 92%. What I do is I let it charge till the led goes green(In android), and then I switch it off and take the battery out. Leave it for a few minutes. Then put the battery in and boot to android. Voila! 100%!
I guess its something to do with the batterys memory or something. It just needs a resetting from time to time.
I also experience the same. When I boot android with battery fully charged, it shows 100%, but when I charge it while running android, it shows max around 90%, even when fully charged. After reboot it shows 100% again.
I do not think it is the battery, but the linux driver.
Moreover, when I boot android when charger is plugged in, the LED does not lit and android does not report charging. When I unplug and plug in the charger, android shows charging and the LED lit orange/green.

I hope someone figures this mystery out soon, this is driving me crazy. When I first started running Shubcraft 1.4d everything was PERFECT. Battery charged fully with no problems & I got great mileage out of it. Then I installed the 1.5 update & it just stopped charging properly. Now no matter what I do it won't fully charge even though I've reverted back to 1.4d. I've tried charging in WM then booting into android, deleting the batterystats.bin file through terminal, letting it die completely then recharging it, all with no luck. Tonight I think I might try fully charging in WM & doing a clean reinstall of Android.

This does work perfect - it appears calibration of the needs this to happen from time to time... I am pushing for 2 weeks now without taking battery out - so it works fine...
Besides this - battery improvement on my end was gained by installing Auto Killer and uninstalling setCpu and all Task Manager Killers, etc...
Just quick sugg for better battery life... (from 12%/hr stand-by I am now easily geting 5%/hr with light usage)...
My Wildfiire battery doesnt last nearly as long as it did when I first got it.
I have had it with many custom ROM's and 2 RUU's to see if it could be the a software issue but they all do the same.
I have gotten a new battery but does the same.
The only thing is when I install and do all the wipes the battery cache doesnt seem to say its completed and its done that on all the rom's and ruu's.
I am using Rom manager with the lastest clockworkmod.
3G and wifi is always on and has always been that way auto sync is of.
Any ideas ppl?
Would love some help.
cheers
Wow nobody had this problem?
Not me certainly. Battery life actually seems better to me than when I got it, thanks to the CPU Clock setting apps and Custom ROMs.
i've had some problems as well, it stays at 100% for a LONG time and then drops drastically if I'm using mobile data. Try draining fully, boot into recovery and clear battery stats, and then charging full. then don't charge again until dead, after which charge it till its full again. might help.

Actually, when the phone turns off on its own, it still has some juice left, should be more than enough to boot into recovery and clear stats.

When you recalibrate your battery, it takes a few life cycles for the battery to stabilize and for Android to get an accurate reading. First life cycle is alway short. Of course, don't play with ROMs so much it may damage your phones read only memory.
I will post my battery life soon, I'm still waiting for the battery to deplete, I haven't recharged my phone in 4 days now after I calibrated my battery.

Wow 4days is huge, iam getting hardly 1day battery after calibrating yesterday....
Actually i removed my phone before getting the 100% notification....
So should i wait for battery to improve???
By the way, when did you calibrate???
Should i calibrate again????
If this wont work i will try terminal emulator method...
So in this method do we need to charge 100% or discharge completely??
Some precautions or just write those commands at any point of charge???
Iam wondering how to thank from the xda app
Thnx to both of u

Same problem here.
Battery drained from 100% to 60% in 3 hours, then to 15% after 5 hours. phone super hot! Widget showed temp 42°C !
Not even used the phone for more than 15 min! REALLY!
Then calibrated before 3 days, now a max of 1 day battery backup only.
Plz help.
And 1 life cycle means I must let the phone charge 100% then let it discharge till it's switched off.
And I should repeat the cycle.correct me if I am wrong.
And I have the habit of not charging to 100% in a single charge session, 2-3 breaks, should I change it?
clarkkov said:
If your phone is hot without you using it, something is running in the background, that shouldn't. Which ROM are you using and which tweaks/fixes have you applied?
One battery life cycle means battery drain from 100% (fully charged) to 1% (fully discharged). Your phone does not have to turn itself off, but make sure it is at 1% when you begin to charge it again. This is important only for a few cycles after calibration, afterwards you are free to charge it as you wish, but while calibrating it's highly recommended that you don't interrupt the charging process (4Hrs).

And apps do run in background.
Should I set autokill level to high in task killer?
And I will take care of charging.
Thanks for support.
on DDJP2.. getting a horrible backup since i have updated thru KIES. generally on jg6 used to get almost 1.5 days which has come down to 12-16 hours now. trying to calibrate my battery with app 'battery calibration'.. calibrated once.. but still no change. read somewhr that we get the same backup for first few times even after calibrating.. but to get sure i am writing down my process.. plz chk if m doing right or not ..
1. plug in phone with charger
2. wait till 100%.
3. press battery calibration or delete batterystat.bin with the help of root explorer.
4. unplug charger and use it till it discharges completely.
5. charge again to 100%.
plzzzz chk and tell.
plzz someone reply.

You need to be aware that wireless services are draining the battery the most. If you are not using 3G - switch it off, same with BT and WIFI. Widgets that update frequently also drain the battery fast, background data, auto sync services/features are battery killers, too.

i hav got a srs prob.. with data connection activated my battery gettin drained out with in 2hours. ( this started after i hav flashed fugu ultra. then went back to fugu beta & g3mod.. problem persists.. even i hav tried battery calibration & reflashing whole rom.. (
& my phone getting turned off in a strange way.. it is being closed at 50% remaining battery life state.. :S
NOTE: with data connection disabled d battery life is just awesome...
i think you should wipe everything, flashing an official rom will do it i think, but i'm not sure that official roms contain kernel.

Stock Roms have a good battery backup.
Try flashing with stock roms.
I am facing the same problem when data connection activated. The problem occurred after using stock Rom JPN with FuguMod 2.4 Beta3. My battery dropped after 2 hour. After that i installed rooted stock JPM but the battery problem was still there. Now i am on non-rooted stock JPQ and i am still having the same problem when data connection activated. With data on, my phone can not last more than an hour. It suddenly shut down even when fully charged. I have to reboot and deactivate data connection in order to be able to use my phone for normal calls. Hopefully someone will find solution for this problem.
Just wrote a thread that maybe solves your problems!! All the best!!
