I can take no credit for this ROM, as I'm only making a package for us Cappy users to try. This is the new I9000XXJVT ROM with a build date of 29 Sep.
It's has SU and is deodexed/zipaligned.
All credit goes to Ramad over at the I9000 section for putting this CWM package together. All I did was replace the kernel with DC 4.0 -Cappy edition.
His original thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1290577
Many thanks goes to:
Ficeto - for making the DC Kernel for the Cappy
Xcal - for the home button fix
fuloplori - for reminding me of the home button fix
And I am of course not responsible if your phone sprouts legs and starts running and screaming down the street.
Do not forget to apply the home button fix attached.
ROM can be downloaded here:http://www.mediafire.com/?5mflw24c7oyvc99

Thanks man. I was really only trying to see if this fixed the wifi issue that started in JVS, and also to try and spur the few devs that are left here on the cappy side to take this and make it their own.
I think we're going to get together and buy you a Cappy just so we can keep you around! LOL

The fix for me and several others was to change the DHCP lease time on my router to something other than "forever". Same applies for JVS.
If you had the problem on JVS, you will most likely still have it on JVT. Many people never had the problem on JVS to begin with and didn't have it after flashing JVT either.

I'm running TAZv9 mod and have a nice looking color mod that makes my phone look and run really nice. Just curious if there was anyway to change the color on the screen that comes up when you are in a call. It has a red background when the call ends and green while you are in the call. Is there anyway to change this to a blue or whatever when you are in the call...basically is this something that can be skinned with one of the programs that is out there(MetaMorph).

I can probably put together a quick metamorph for you. The file is in Phone.apk
So instead of the green gradient you want a blue gradient? And keep the red gradient when it ends?
Just place the attached file on your sdcard in "AndroidThemes" and use Metamorph.
Yep. That is exactly what I want. Thanks!

Just download the file and your computer. Hookup your phone and mount the sdcard. Then create a folder on it called "AndroidThemes". Next download "Metamorph" from the market. Run it and select the "blue-in-call" theme, and apply it.
Yes...I figured that out and it looks great. My questions were about what you used to modify the graphic (Photoshop)? Im hoping to start modifying some stuff and make my own graphics to use with Metamorph.

After searching the forums and the internet in general, I was unable to find anybody that knew how to get into safe mode on the SGS Vibrant. In an effort to help a friend with a FC loop from hell, I have persisted until I discovered how it's done.
Power up the phone and start pressing the capacitive buttons. As soon as they light up during the boot up process, usually once the video of the 'S' begins, press and hold MENU & HOME all the way through the boot process until you see SAFE MODE appear in the bottom left of the screen. At that point you can release the buttons and you will now be in safe mode. This is similar to safe mode on Windows PCs. It will load just the bare minimum to get the system up and running. This is helpful if you have some rogue app crashing the system or as in my case, a launcher that went into a FC loop and wouldn't break free. To return the phone to normal, just reboot.
**Be aware that any widgets you had on your screens will need to be thrown to the trash and replaced upon restart.**
Great tip!
Thanks.
Wow... thanks. Wasn't even aware safe mode existed......

Do I have to hold BACK (soft key) and HOME (hard key) for some time?
Or just press it once?
Also where does it save the screenshots?
I sometimes find Capture folder on my phone with some screencaptured... I guessed I did it by accident but I do not know how...
Hold back & press home

Can it have anything to do with custom kernel or custom rom?
(I am on JVP CF root using rom kitchen)
Apparently it is rom related I guess.
I just read this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1100803
please delete or lock this thread. it doesnt make sense anymore.
the biggest problem i had with the XXJPM was the battery drain so i switched to XWJPF which i think is a recent release but i am not so sure. i did not have any issues with the GPS but the sound lag was there when the screen is on sleep mode.
i installed the fugumod kernel and set the minimum core speed to 333 so it does not fall below that. and never had any sound issues and sound was great too. u can also set the core to performance (OC 800 kernel version and the speed stays at 800 all the time) but that will drain your battery in no time. just my experience
i tried kyrillos and its an awesome ROM, the only con was that i could not change themes. i am yet to try the INDROID but as always i dont like a lot of apps in any custom ROM so i remove them. kyrillos only had a few but looks like indroid has a whole load of em
i'd like to see someone build a rom with the
original theme (but able to install themes)
basic apps
newer market
newer map app
deodexed
a2sd
lagfree
CWM recovery
5 lockscreen mod
and all the function that comes with building a custom rom
the rest can be achieved with a custom kernel i guess
this would be awesome!!!!
p.s. the dev's at xda are doing an awesome job keeping us happy, they deserve a lot more than thank you's and i believe we are here today coz the devs here are doing something extraodinary thant the devs at samsung.
you guys are the best of the best.
hmm, interesting, a found a lot of people have trouble about clicking sound when making conversation. OC is ok, but.. why do that, processor itself will work how it must, i mean, if overclock it will drain too much battery, if underclock it will be slow. i only expirienced delay problem when receiving incoming call, it's a little bit slow, but else is ok.
today i got official upgrade for my galaxy 3. it was jp9, 2.2, not 2.2.1. i have problems now with back button when in contacts and when unlocking the phone. i have to press back or menu key few times to turn on the screen, but home key works fine. strange thing.. why they put bugged version of froyo to official update over kies..

I agree with Clarkkov..I too have been using XXJPM for about 2 months now & there are no problems..the battery life is great..I easily get 3 days usage on a full charge. The 2 small issues I saw are:
1. Camera app. sometimes crashes.
2. Back button does not work in Contacts app., you have to click Home button to close it.
Does XXJPN resolve these issues..?

The camera thing is a known issue (there is also a fixed camera.apk without that problem in the apps section). It has to do with gps/location as it tries to geotag the pictures you take.
I also can't confirm the back-buttons issue. I've been running XXJPM for a while and back button works just fine! Try a wipe (or at least clear cache) and see if that makes a difference...

Ok peeps, here is another great rom for you to play with.
For those who dont know what the Android Open Kang Project is:
http://aokp.co/
This rom strives to utilize the best hacks and mods of all roms and put them into one great build.
It was built by me, but it is coded by a wonderful crew of smart people and it performs quite well.
It features many nice addons:
* customized lockscreen with color changing for the text and a nice weather widget plus more
* customize navigation bar, Navbar hiding for NBA JAm and other phone Ui games and apps
* color theming for the navbar, along with the ability to add navbar buttons which you can set to do what you want
Basically, tons of stuff. I recommend flashing and going to settings>Rom Control and just spending about thirty minutes seeing all the things you can do.
On my end, I have tried to remove what we dont need for some extra RAM. I changed up the teamdrh device overlays to suit this ROM. modified build.prop for gameloft compatibility, applied Nobe's fixes for hdmi audio and gaming audio. Various other things to get it working well.......
This is still a work in progress!!!!
Many thanks to teamdrh for the "OEM device support"
Many thanks to Fosser for his kernel
Many thanks to the AOKP crew for such a great ROM
****INSTALL INFO*******
1. Use teamdrh nvflash for Jellybean - the 350meg prep
2. Wipe data/ factory reset
3. connect to PC, copy rom, and Flash away
ENJOY!
Known Issues:
Stock launcher has shortcut issues, YOU WILL NEED A DIFFERENT ONE. I left it alone so you guys could just use what you want. I recommend Nova Launcher, this is the one AOKP uses on official builds, but again, I left it alone so you could decide, but you will not be disappointed with Nova.
AOKP has their own wallpapaers, the app would not retrieve them though, still looking into this
Internal Camera, of course, NOT YET!
Others? please....you tell me. I dont have a dock, and I dont do many of the things that others do, so there may be issues that I have not yet uncovered. I dont care about logcats or whatever, just post what dont work if you find something. THANKS!
YOU MUST GO THANK ANY MEMBER OF THE AOKP CREW, AS WELL AS TEAMDRH. THEY MAKE THIS POSSIBLE.

Okay, I've found how to add more buttons, which does squeeze them together. However, I only want three buttons (back, home, recent apps) and squeezed together on the lower left. Is there a way to do that? If I make the other buttons empty, there are still icons showing that there are buttons there, just that pressing them won't do anything.
All settings for this are in settings>ROM control>navigation bar
At the bottom where it says "combined bar width port" or "land" you move slider left or right and the buttons will move, you most likely want 5 percent, do both but "land" is landscape. If you just want three buttons then just choose 3 under "Nav button quantity". And if you want more, up to 7 then in the settings just underneath the quantity you must choose what the buttons do for a short press and a long press if you want. You can change the icons too.
I'm actually liking this ROM the most so far out of the Jelly Bean ROMs. It's pretty lean. It performs well. There are a lot of options. And every app I've tried on it has worked.
Here is something weird. I flashed this ROM on my wife's tablet and everything works with it. So I decided to flash it on my tablet and some apps, like Dictionary.com, aren't compatible. Any ideas why this would be?
