i using linuxdx v03 and gingerdx v0.17, when i reboot my phone into xrecovery mode, xrecovery not work and phone power on norrmaly, what's problem? why not load xrecovery?
sorry for my bad english
please answer
thanks
It's because doixanh removed chargemon support in LinuxDX. You don't even need xRecovery, use CWM(touch touchscreen when you see GingerDX logo). But if some scripts don't work on CWM, convert them to Edify(http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Amend+to+Edify+converter).
thanks i using cmw but i want install timescape plugins for ginger dx, it's script xrecover.
I told you, use Amend to Edify script converter. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Amend+to+Edify+converter

what next ?
how does it actually work?
I went to File-Open....selected the xRecovery update file....It shows some logs in input and output tabs..... a new file is created in the folder with the converter with only the META-INF file part of the zip.
I dunno what is what and how to proceed from this point hereon

camera n compass u flash it in xrecovery. u can flash both then reboot without having to reboot after each flash.
as for mddi u need to do it manually for now i don't think doixanh made a xrecovery zip yet
the meta-inf folder basically just contains a script to tell xrecovery where to copy the files.

Dont extracted .zip.....just. zip to sdcard when u download them, and reboot in xrecovery to choose custum.zip
he's using MINICM. Ponovan came up with a flashable zip for mddi.

Hi all this will look like a silly question but....
how do i install racht's roms?
They're all in Rar format, instead of zip so xrecovery can't detect the files. If i rename the files to zip it detects but fails on install.
_I know i'm still sleepy but what am i missing here?
Thanks.
extract the rar..put the extracted folder in your sd card at xrecovery/backup..
enter xrecovery and restore the folder..
uhh thanks
Thanks. I also a bit new to Xperia X8 and going flash my mom's phone.

hehe thank you all for help
i was only a bit confused as these roms where different from all the other i tested.
So I'm trying to install xRecovery using this link and I download the .zip file and unpack it. First I try to "Automatic Installation (recommended): Open xRecovery installer app and tap "Install xRecovery" but I can't find the xRecovery installer anywhere so I try:
Manual Installation:
- Download the apk, rename it to xrecoveryZIP
- Unpack the file, find ./res/raw folder inside. It should contain 3 files (chargemon, busybox, xrecovery.tar)
- copy these 3 files into /system/bin using root explorer (remember to remount /system rw
but when I go to the /system folder there's no /bin folder and I have zero clue what to do
PS - as far as i know i've successfully rooted my phone using superoneclick

First make sure your phone is rooted, then install Busybox from Market. Make sure Busybox is installed on xbin, not bin..
Got into the same prob coz its installed on bin, tried to reinstall busybox and saved it to xbin and i manage to install xrecovery..
Thanks for the quick reply! In the busybox installer it says "status: done" but i don't know if it actually installed or not b/c i don't see busybox anywhere ??
k so i can get to the system/bin folder on my phone but i can't copy over the files like the instruction says it says "xxxx file copy failed" for every file i try to paste into the /system/bin...i like to think i'm not completely retarded but this ish is killin' me
When you install Busybox, theres an option where to install it. install it to xbin, not bin.
When it's done, its done. then try installing xrecovery.
Also, install xrecovery using the Automatic way, its easier..
When doing a copy/pasting or editing, make sure Root Explorer is in r/w, not r/o
I would install it the automatic way if I could find the installer anywhere :-/

Dude its in that thread: http://www.mediafire.com/?eyihuzn4h96xw4c
DL that then, go to Market and search for an apk installer. install that.
Then copy the xrecovery apk to ur sd. open the apk installer of ur choice. it should then scan for apks in ur sd card. install xrecovery and ur done.
I too am having the same problem as yours but managed to overcome this issue by installing xrecovery via flashtool.

Theres a free root explorer in the market. Look for one.. Try looking for some youtube videos online for the x10...
Sent from my Rooted X10i
if i watch this video, there's a point where he clicks on the file on his phone and the file's icon is the little android mascot or whatever and when he clicks on it it gives him the option to open it with the app manager and when he clicks on it it takes him through the installation. whenever i go to the file on my phone, 1) the icon attached to it is the same as for a .zip file and 2) when i click on it it only gives me the option to extract it.
Also, give flashtool a try.... Gtg.

thx for trying to help, much appreciated.
any other takers???
Dont extract it, just copy the file the way it is to ur sd card... Scan again with an apk installer...

But after it finish installing the system and restart the phone , start up interface taking a lot of time then reboots itself, restart , restart ....

Can you access to your phones internal memory? if you can, put dload folder there. If you cant, just put dload folder to sdcard. Then boot your phone while holding both volume buttons down. Your phone should start updatng after it. when it's ready, your on .35 kernel.

Did you mean the folder "dload", which exists in this file (fileserve. com/file/MJ65g2c)?
and after installing it , what should I do to get good ICS 4.0.3 ROM (support Arabic Language) ?

Once you have put the dload folder on, followed instructions to upgrade in previous posts, then follow this thread to put CWM on and install ICS:
