- Added option to backup and restore application and system settings to uour google account
- Xperia facebook integration (not sure if it was not there before...)

nice, going to try and update now!
Can anyone update the update files so i can make a ftf file for the flash tool?
I checked using WiFi now and there's an update, but it requires PC companion ( no OTA yet )... I'm only concerned about loosing root
Hope the image will come soon , Unlocked bootloader
Does this Firmware change the compression rate of the picture taken with the camera?

Yes, root will be lost if you update via PC Companion. In any case, PC Companion will not allow you to update your phone with unlocked bootloader. You will hit an error.
Still cannot see this for my UK handset either by PC Companion, SE update service on the SE website or the update service on the phone?

thank you for the quick answer i was waiting for one...
i try now this?
is it correct if i do with that way???
see this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1269910
i want to start doing this with Flashtool...its correct
i wait for an answer again if you can tell me..
and sorry all for the noob questions but i just start to learning this root stuff
I'm facing a problem doing the update, my device is rooted and running 3.0.1.A.0.145, I decided to go a head and update to the latest version ( 2.3.4 ) and I know I'll loose the root, but I'm willing to do that as far as I'll not loose the data/settings...
the problem is I just can't update, the PC Companion just crashes as soon as it starts the update ( after downloading and restarting the phone, and plug the cable while holding the back key )...
Even thought it was a recent PC companion installation I just downloaded on almost fresh Win 7 32bit installation, I tried again on my desktop PC with Win7 64bit and a little bit older PC companion... but still the exact same problem.. app crash, the phone works normally ( thankfully )... I just can't update

Well, I managed to update the firmware of my X10 but I've a little problem.
When I start the device, it shows an exclamation point in a yellow triangle. Then I tried to update it one more time and SEUS says that I have the most actual firmware, even changing the files to make the unbranding. I would like to know if there is a method to force SEUS to update from those files and skip all the checks. Any suggestions?
I recommend you to just go to the sony ericsson service center to get your phone unbricked. Or maybe you can use the davinciteam debranding service to unbrick your phone but it costs 10 euros.
Just flash the davinciteam's firmware and it would work I guess.
Anyway I went to the service center and told then that my phone could not start after I did an update.

Well, I suppose that there is another way to solve this problem. Something like forcing the program like what Davinci does but made by us.
I did it once yesterday and paid 10euro to davinci to bring my x10lives.
But i heard from other chinese post that people debranded their phone to x10a and can't flash it back to original version and they now got a solution to flash it back to original version by replacing the edited jar file in plugins folder to force update button appear in SEUS.
I have no idea will it works the same way on your case or not i can upload the file to let u give it a try but before that can you try a few things for me. Try press different combination key(eg. cameria button+ volume up... ect) when your screen showing is yellow ! to see will there be any words showing up.

First of all, tnx for the info.
No words apearing at screen, at least on my x10, and I tried several times but no result. No words too, pressing different combination of keys during boot(before vibration).
Finally I send my device to SAT they will make the durty job I expect! (I'll have to pay 25 euros just for updating... but they will bring it back to life)
Cheers and thanks a lot one more time for your time spend!
PD: I realise that jar files could work perfectly in order to force SEUS, that's what people is doing, isn't it?
Anyone find out how to force SEUS to update??
Try flashing the stock 2.1 rom posted by bin4ry that will fix your problem for sure

With PC Companion, even if it tells you that the phone has the latest firmware, you can choose to update anyway so it reflashes the phone with the latest firmware
You can use Binary's tools for update and downgrade. This post is quite old...

It doesn't show that always, incase if that happens you can reboot your computer and try it with SEUS/PC Companion one after one.
If you have problem with the update via SEUS because it says that you have the latest update and wont lets you reinstall the OS, you should try the following
1. Go Here and download the .504 version and flash it via flash tool.
2. Boot your phone and finish the settings wizard.
3.Shut it down
4. Run SEUS and update to .435
I hope that helps for any upcoming problems.

He should be able to just download .435 and flash it with Flashtool.
update your seus or try flashing back to fw .435
To update with SEUS whatever firmware you are running:
Do not attach phone to PC.
Open PC companion on desktop, click support zone, then software update. Will pop up a window with a message saying could not find phone, with an underscored repair phone option. Click this and follow steps including selecting phone model (x10 obviously!). Then attach phone while powered off and holding back key when prompted. SEUS will then wipe your phone and install stock firmware. Done this 3 times as fiddle with my system files far too much and have bootlooped my x10 many times!!!!!
Hope this helps

What is debrand? i thought it was called rooting. I need the easiest and something that wont mes up my phone. easy meaning i can understand each step because i dont know some of the stuff that i have to do. cause in the youtube videos it was confusing
Id suggest you to install pc companion on the main sony ericsson site and update from there it is the safest way!
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
debrand is basically leaving the phone like if it's factory reset and if it just came out from the factory
worths cause you won't wait that much for any update as if you were using a branded fw
take a look to this http://www.youtube.com/user/bluechipj
will help you to install the newest fw
remember debranding the phone will wipe all the data so make sure you make a backup 1st

cause your fw depends on your carrier
debrand your x10 it worths
It's pretty straightforward.
- Install Sony Ericsson Update Service: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/sup.../detailed/updateservice/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en
- Install Sony Ericsson PC Companion: http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/pccompanion/xperiax10?cc=gb&lc=en
[required since they install drivers on your computer]
- Download and extract the graphical flash tool: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10738467
- Download the X10a generic firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10738467 (2.1.A.0.435)
Flash.
Watch the videos for step by step.
Rooting = enabling programs to access the system (e.g. Titanium Backup, Barnacle WiFi Tether, etc.)
Debranding = removing carrier logo, apps, disabled options (2G, Unknown Sources, etc.)
Unlocking = use other carrier's SIMs
All three are separate, independent, and optional.

Ok i need to make sure i get this right. Firts i download flash tool, then i download the x10a generic update, then i open the flash thing an click flash, then i wait until it says put phone in flash mode and then click flash again, and then after that it is done?
I have a question on this last step
IMPORTANT:
- You should always wipe userdata if you switch between Android versions (1.6 <-> 2.1). If not your phone will keep restarting all the time. This is the same for some providerbrandings even if you flash between same Android versions. So if you have this restarting problem, flash again with Wipe Userdata. If you don't want to loose your apps you have to backup them with Titanium or some other backup tool!
What does that mean or what do i have to do?
And also if i mess up does it mess up my phone?

I can live with having to reinstall apps. I'm just surprised it'll actually fix a bootloop. That's really good! So as long as it switches on, you can bugger the system all you want and SEUS can factory restore it? Epic

You need to give more info as to how u attempted to root?
Did u flash back to 2.3.2 and then update OTA? That would cause it to brick .. Look for the tutorial on how to unbrick the unlocked OTA updated phones in the forum..
If you are unlocked you can simply flash one of the rooted images..again check for the tutorial thread.. there are a couple i think..

A simpler (and much more reusable option) is to look for Flashtool & download it. Next get the Stock firmware & flash it. That way, regardless of the snag you run into, restoration is merely a few clicks (and a few minutes) away. Try it!
