whilst playing a song in the music app press menu > more > details > Tag... then select the album cover found.
Nice feature but the album cover doesn't save...
Any advice to make it save?
thanks
I would try Poweramp. I think its alot better in most ways (and album covers work).

When I select this panel and select the pictures, I can see it's scanning pictures off the device. Once the count, I don't see any pictures for my to select. Same behavior for contacts,, music, etc.
Has anyone seen this? How do I select which storage location to scan? How can I view or preview the pictures for me to select?
Thanks for your help.
I used to like the shake feature on the VillianROM12 on my old hero but it does not seem to work on my new hero (old one got faulty). Like when I shake it used to bring up the 7 screens all at once and then put them back if shook again.
Any ideas guys?
... Still using Villain12 though yeah?
Press MENU --> CONFIGURE --> make sure THUMBNAILS is selected --> THUMBNAILS SETTINGS --> tick G-SENSOR.
...Then play with the G-Sensor settings if you need to.
Collective thread of tips & tricks for the Xperia Arc.
I want to start by sharing two small tips that I like.
1) When you push the hardware menu button a little longer, the keyboard with Google search function appears.
2) Pinch on the home screen and widget overview shows up.
Index of other tips from forum members in the thread (thank you guys):
- Go to dialer and dial *#*#7378423#*#* for the service menu.
- The newer firmware version (4.0.A.2.368) shows whether bootloader can be unlocked or not (under configuration in service menu).
- During the incoming call alert, you can silence the phone by pressing any of the volume buttons. You'll still have the option to accept or reject the call.
- Double click on the headset's button to go to to the next song. Triple click to go back to the previous one.
- You can get a slightly larger field of vision in the video camera if you disable the image stabilizer.
- Long press the back button in default browser to access the browsing history.
- Sony Panorama Beta now works on unrooted Arc too. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=14976061#post14976061
- Go to setting > about phone > keep pressing android version many times > Zombie artwork appears.
- Go to gallery-> Put 2 fingers on a folder and hold-> Now pinch out-> You will now see all the pics under that folder.
- You can change the position of the icons in the camera interface by holding and dragging them.
Hold the hardware Home button and a list of Recent apps appears.

That's a standard for any Android phone.

You're pressing the Home button. Hold the 3rd button i.e. the menu button

I have the Xperia Neo, but this must work the same with the Arc:
- Double click on the headset's button to go to to the next song. Triple click to go back to the previous one.
- You can get a slightly larger field of vision in the video camera if you disable the image stabilizer.
- Keep checking on the PlayNow store once in a while. Occasionally, some paid stuff in the Market gets added for free.
- During the incoming call alert, you can silence the phone by pressing any of the volume buttons. You'll still have the option to accept or reject the call.
- Clean temp data/cache from apps, especially Browser
- Forget task killers
- Use SE data monitor (Marketplace)
Long press the back button in default browser to access the browsing history

Agree!
Use Go Luncher if you badly need Task Killer.
Use Mobo Player, it does better on HDMI.
Task killers are fine. Some programs do stop reappearing, some don't, that's because some inbuilt feature/service demands them back. If you are rooted, they seem to work better.
Hi,
Is there a way to change the colour of the events in the agenda since 4.x.x.x.x firmware. All events are pink now...
Thanks!

As the title says, I'm having this issue where when I play music from an application, I expect the player to pop up both on the notification dropdown and lock screen, but they appear on neither. This happens on both Google Play and PowerAmp, so I can imagine that other apps would have this issue. I traded in my other S7 Edge, as it had another audio-related issue, and I know it had this feature, but this new one does not. Is there any way I can enable it? It's a pain having to go back into the app every time just to pause it, as I like to close my apps when I'm done with them. The music still persists even after I close the app itself. I've also tried restarting. Any ideas?
All feedback is highly appreciated. Thanks!

Mine shows up in both spots using the Samsung Music player. Confirmed working with Poweramp too on both notification tray and lock screen.

I would think that it works with nearly everyone else. I was asking why it wouldn't work for myself.
I had the same issue. Look at your notifications, when I turned it on for music player, it now shows up.
It only works with the Samsung music app. Other apps will play music but no pulldown. So u can play music but if you leave the app u will need to make a couple clicks to skip or pause a track. Sucks.
They're basically forcing their app on u. Luckily for them it's not half bad
One year later, when now I just saw this post,,,,,, The same thing may seem to appear in the new Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro, that the music player with music being played does not show up in the Notification Panel & Lock Screen. However, thanks for csjg3525 above whose post about S7 inspired me to look into something similar in Galaxy C7 Pro. It works not only for the Samsung music app! There's a trick:
Open "Settings" > Choose "Notifications" > Select "Google Play Music" AND then also go to the "Advanced" button at the top right hand corner on the same page > Click into "Google Play Music" > Click to "Allow notifications" and then two more options appear to let you choose - I selected "Set as priority" & "Previews in pop-ups", then all I wanted did show finally.
When you see only the name of the song being played on the lock screen, don't be disappointed. You just double-click the song name and then the 3 symbols of backward, pause & forward (next song) will appear for your control.
Hope the above helps for Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro users.

Essential phone> On selecting an audio track it immediately launches with default audio player. Selecting 'open with' does give you the option of choosing a different player BUT only for that instance you cannot set it as default. Questions, how can I select an audio player permanently and how can I disable 'default audio player'?

Try to disable and deactivate the stock music player app through the app list..maybe it will play the tracks with the other music app by default..
