Newb- ~ 1 week with new Cing-8125 - 1st handheld - it rocks
Why does "Device Info" say
RAM = 64MB
Flash = 128MB
But "Memory" shows:
Memory storage = 47.46MB
Program Total = 44.00MB
This is only 91.46MB
Is this correct ? Where's the rest?
Thanks
I am curious about this as well. According to Device Info, I should have 64MB to run programs and 128MB for storage, but I am well under that. :?
Can anyone explain what is going on???
Thanks,
Dave
You're only going to get 128 MB of ROM and 64 MB or RAM with nothing installed on the device. The ROM, which consists of the OS, the Cingular stuff, and the other included applications takes up quite a bit of storages space, about 57 MB. As for the RAM, the OS needs memory to run as well. I've installed a ton of things on my Cingular 8125 already, so I have no idea what the standard amounts are, perhaps someone would be so kind as to post them.

I understand that, but...
I would expect it to report like so:
Storage
Total: 128 MB
In Use: 38.54 MB
Free: 89.46 MB
Program
Total: 64 MB
In Use: 31.73 MB
Free: 32.27 MB
But instead I get:
Storage
Total: 47.46 MB
In Use: 38.54 MB
Free: 8.92 MB
Program
Total: 44.01 MB
In Use: 31.73 MB
Free: 12.28 MB
So what happened to 80.54 MB of ROM (Storage) & 19.99 MB of RAM (Program)? Are you saying that the base OS uses up this much RAM & ROM, and the system just shows it as not even being there? The actual image (nk.nbf) in the OS installer is 80MB in size so this does seem to add up.

Hello,
can anyone look on the ozone:
i flashed my ozone back to 6.1 and now i have these data:
Settings/Device Information/Hardware:
RAM Size: 128 MB
OS Program Memory: 16.47 MB
Program Memory: 111.53 MB
Used: 38.20 MB
Free 73.33 MB
Flash size 256 MB
OS Memory 231.05 MB
looks okay ... but now:
Storage Memory 24.95 MB <--- is this right ?
Used 13.59 MB
Free 11.36 MB
I think the last 3 lines are not okay, or ?
cheers, Peter
I was doing a compare of Tilt vs HD2...
Are there any software tools that analyzes the actual System memory capacities? Is there really 576MB of RAM in this Tmobile HD2?

Yes there is! Actually that RAM amount is available on all the "others" HD2 (eu, au versions), you just need to unlock it with a correct combination of radio and rom..

Under device info, hw info you'll see the total quantity of RAM installed into the device while in memory settings you'll see a little less becase a part of it is used by the OS.
I hope I've been of some help.
1024 MB flash
what is it?
flash is the internal storage space but then you only hav 690.48 MB
where is the rest?
used by OS again?

the rom takes up room, so does the radio, and when the rominstalls itself (first run, or after a hard reset) that uses up more.
think of it likeinstalling your pc. you start with a nice empty disk, but by the time windows 7 has been installed it has used 6gig of space before you even run it for the first time.
To get the latest Rom's that are coming out, I formatted the phone to 180 Mb, but now the phone will be as a second phone, so I will put the Stock Rom and will be used only sporadically.
Can you tell me how to format it so it looks like the original?
Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16942396&postcount=40
sets: (You need 250 system 134 data)
But not if I should restore are 250 Mb or 134 Mb or perhaps another quantity.
Could someone help me?
Thanks in advance.

sent from my phone
Hello,
sorry for this simple question..
I try to install this ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2126053&nocache=1 )
but I fail.
I done that:
1.Task27
2. Install RadioROM
3. 16GB Class 10 -> ext4 1500mb
4. Install Magldr
5. Copy the ROM to the SD Card
6. Try to install the Rom with NAND with DataOnExt and nativeSD
7.Reboot my Phone
It boots, but it stucks at the S-Logo..
whats my problem? thanks & sorry for bad english.. regards..
It should have worked with NativeSD, but there is more to DataOnExt than just creating an ext partition. You also need to partition your NAND accordingly. Use the Toolkit to partition the System to 270mb and 5 cache.
Sorry, I forget to say that.
I maked it with the Hd2 Toolkit. 360 mb : 45 mb (cache)
is this too big?k
I will try it with your settings. thx.

- (for CLK install 400/5 MB "i have not test the CLK install with my new rom.sorry no time for this")
- in the CWM go to - 10. services -> 4.UseLast24NAND
- install the rom with non swap partition
- this is the settings from the install with my new carbon rom on my 512 MB HD2
