I'm looking for an application that uses the camera LED as a flashlight. Does this not exist?

White Light works flawlessly on my Focus (using camera LED).
Tap the screen for white/black screen and Back to exit.
Are u saying that u don't use an app but more just the camera on the phone?

Thanks for the tip - Works on my focus 1.3 as well. Do you notice a flicker every few seconds? Maybe his continual focus isn't so continuous but it gets the job done.

I'm not sure I understand you.
Before, I have used the video recording to get the led light on so far, but this app does about the same.

I wonder if some dev is already working on it but it would be great to be able to use the capacitive lights (under the screen) for missed calls and missed messages...
Checkout NoLed from the market..
Edit...
Aah sorry I see you mean the soft key lights...

NoLED can't do that. AFAIK there is no such app at the moment. NoLED is close though.
you should check out the nexus s forums. there was an app that can do that on the nexus s but a custom kernel had to flashed that had that functionality built-in. i think it was called bln (back light notifications).
as for noled, it is a pretty cool and very functional app. i used to use the very first beta releases when i had a galaxy s, and i was recently using the market version on my nexus s and it allows for the screen to show notifications of missed events, plus you can also have it give audio reminders every so often if you do not acknowledge a missed event
Just wondering if anyone knew of a fix for this. I normally use the clerks x10 light app not neither it nor the setting in the camera app turns the with on anymore. In using the WB custom Rom 3.8 ver. Other than that the Rom is great only 1 fc and that was a known issue with the picture gallery.

SwitchPro widget turns it on. I don't know why your camera doesn't though.

I came from the htc 3d and it had a great stock flashlight app. Does Samsung make a good flashlight app?
Dunno what more you need but under wigets the first page there's a wiget called assistive light. Works like a charm. ( wish it was a app also) the on/off time for the led light is extremely fast compared to all phones previous to the S4

+1 for Tiny Flashlight, one of the better flashlight apps I've used and it has quite a few interesting options.

yeah I wish we had the HTC sense 5 flashlight app modded to work for the S4, but for the time being I am using Galaxy Nexus (GN) Flashlight...its pretty good and has a decent widget.
Try that one ,you can light it up on the lockscreen by shaking your phone ,you can adjust the sensivity!!

I like Droid light by Motorola. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.motorola.dlight No options, just a 174k flashlight app. I never understood why some flashlight apps were megabytes in size when all it's meant to do was turn on a led.
Hi all. I have been doing some searching around for a way to get the rear LED to light up in any way shape or form for apps, specifically SMS.
Has anyone found a way to get it on AT ALL using apps like Light Flow or Light Manager? Stock or a custom ROM? If you have gotten it on in anyway at all, please let me know! (And how you did it please)
I spent some time emailing with the LightFlow dev last night too, and he is interested in getting control over it too. So anything to get it on is great.
Thanks everyone!

In another thread it was stated that Flashnotification works (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.manzy.flashnotification). I did not try it yet.

Just tried, same results.
I have it half on with this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958939
Working on full access. Ill keep everyone updated.
To use that app install it and enable it in accessibility. Then open the app and go to auto locate. Choose your LED here. "button-backlight1" is for the left, "button-backlight2" is for the right. It will probably just show you up to the word "button: though. But it appears twice, once on the left of the screen, once on the right. Choose either side. And that's it. It will flash when you get a notification.
Light flow works for me rooted on stock Rom. ...you have to enable it in settings then enable it in the setting for the specific notification You want. .. but now blink or pulse. ....tell the light flow dev to add this option to his app

I sent him an email about this a few minutes ago. But light flow also only lights up half of the ring, the right side to be specific. If you use the app I linked above you can get either half (left or right) working and it blinks!
Ill let you know any updates I get, but at least it is half blinking now!
Worked some more with the light flow dev. We have gotten the FULL led ring to light up! It is currently solid. Ill post more as it develops.
In the meantime here is a picture of my device, using lightflow, when I receive an SMS. Enjoy for now!

Hi, You dont like the focus of s5 ? or you are talking about selective Focus ?? alternate for selecting Object and blur background you can try Google Camera
For Macro Mode you can try Macro Lense from ebay
Hope this Help
Thanks, but I would like another sultion.
Since the problem is not a hardware thingy.
When I try to capture a penny it doesn't stick with the good focus and rest the focus into foggy blurry vision
