I just wanted to say "Thank you."

I just wanted to inform all the good people of XDA for helping out me out. It all started with me asking total noob questions such as "What is rooting" to finally having great guides to teach me about rooting. Now, my phone is completely rooted, voodooed, and just spanking fantastic. It's fascinating how a phone can do so much. I can't wait till XDA works hard to crack the 2.2 update in the future and I just wanted to say, Thank you very much.

I second that. Came in here with no knowledge of the subject of roots, and after a couple of weeks of reading I feel I can safely edit my phone. Thank you to all who contribute.

Thirded. It's quite amazing how quickly this phone has come along. Big thanks to the devs for their hard work. Also, lol @ the OP's fascinate pun.

U'll can thank a lot of these guys by donating. Most of them have ways to do that.

I'm gonna echo the OP's sentiments exactly. After everybody's help & responsiveness here at xda I feel like I've been able to make the right choices about phones & apps & what to do with them. After everyone's input on my OP, droid x or fascinate?, I'm sticking with the fascinate due to my confidence in what these devs can accomplish with a truly open platform.

+1. I'm new to the android scene. Thanks to XDA and its helpful guides and members, my phone's now rooted and zipper than ever.

Some other folks here and I have had this phone since Last fall, and this dev community has exploded since then. Thanks to the devs, this phone is exactly how I want it.

But there's nothing to be curious about, nothing to speculate on. Its all in the EDT General Announcement.
It may be unintentional, but all this speculation inevitably leads to unneeded drama.

This was posted before the EDT announcement so I was unsure on what had happened. I apologize for this thread...If a mod feels the need to delete they will do so. But this thread intention was not to cause drama but to just satisfy my curiosity on why one of my favorite developers left EDT (brick'd) I'm sorry if you feel as this is causing drama. But my I am still wondering on the whole story of why brick'd left. I understand that Dan_Brutal left for family reasons. But what caused brick'd to leave?

As it says EDT is changing how they do things. There will be one rom per Android version. Trigger (2.2) and Bi Winning (2.2.1). All other rom's (including the head of EDT, jelette's roms) will be unnofficial EDT roms. Brick'd maintained Loki, which would become an unofficial EDT rom. Connect the dots.

Well its not... eh sort of just ordered my gnex today. Soo pretty soon here I will being jumping forums. Id just like to start an appreciation thread. I don't know if most people realize this but, this forum is in pristine organization. Looking at my new forum... it is SO unorginized so crowded, and people hardly get along. Here people collaborate, help, and inform. However we do have our flame wars.... but those are soon resolved. Also people here are very appreciative... I don't know how or what exactly I did to deserve 900+ thanks... but people sure do appreciate things. Anyways to wrap this up id just like to say thanks for the wonderful expierence with android and xda. Had it not been for the orginized and close-nit community we have here in the Epic 4g forum I would still be running an out-dated version of android or a bloated version.

I will be... since im in charge of compiling and updating the epic's samurai's kernel to help alleviate the pressure from earthbound and his gnex development.

Nobody truly leaves. I haven't had the Epic for 5 months and I post as much here as I do in the Nexus forum.

That is soooooo True!!! I don't understand why the other forums can not keep it like the EPIC 4G Forums. Other than the keyboard, Its one of the reasons I haven't jumped phones yet. Anyways, Best of luck to you over there.

So far so good... was on stock for about 10 minutes then rooted and flashed a custom rom and kernel. I was a little upset when I thought I bricked it... but figuring out what I did wrong I was set up in no time.
