i buy a Htc Magic Vodafone phone and i want to root it, and i don't now how
my phone have this details - saphire pvt 32b , radio 2.22.19.26l, firmware 1.6
second problem is i have CyanogenMod 4.1 and i find a new update 4.2.1 and is not working to update it, maybe because my phone is not rooted?

Its for 32A only ofc cause HTC provides Updates for HTC branded devices only ..
i need a solution for my question from top of threat : how i make to install Cyanogen 4.2.1 on my htc magic vodafone 32b 1.6 version ? (now i have cyanogen 4.1 version installed) and second i need a step by step solution to root my phone pls

It's my understanding that you must first downgrade to firmware 1.5 to root. Maybe that's just for the so called "one click" root process??...
root via my software its straight forward my friend even idiots can do it
Hello there i have 1 more thing that i was jailbreaking my HTc g1 and got successfully back to old os but my problem is that i can't skip sign-in process ... i live in Pakistan and its from Uk....so cant use t-mobile network here ... can i jailbreak ...i hav wifi access but can not enable it from G1 .. plz help me ... is there is any way to get jailbreak offline ?? or i have to unroot it??? plzzzzzzz ppls help needed badly..

What is a Jailbreak? Did your phone do something bad?
i want to unroot my fone because i want to use it....jailbreaking required internet from service provider so i can login to my google account and go to the next process ...i do not live in Uk thats y i need to unroot my G1 so i can just use it /no modification / no custom roms.....if u can help plz tell me how to unroot it

I would use the latest OpenEclair or KingKlick AOSP 2.1 v1.9 but if I was you I would stick to android 1.6 and use the latest Super D ROM. But if you want to use OpenEclair or the AOSP 2.1 ROM you need to have the DANGER SPL.
Here are some tips to help you on XDA:
1) When you "hack" an android device it is called ROOTING not JAILBREAKING.
2) Use proper english with at least decent grammar.

Sorry Jamb, xda can be a bit of an asshole. Here is a good guide on bypassing the google sign in. Like the other guy said, OE and King's v1.9 are good for 2.1 roms, but don't have the speed of 1.6 roms, and they are missing some things (camcorder, etc).
@UberMario ..... sorry for my english...i have jailbreaked many iphones so everytime my mind says rooting and my finger types jailbreaking.sorry again...well i was now able to bypass the google sign screen now the 1 thing remains that i m not able to ROOT it like i got the telnet and its says connection error and also at another site a dude ....theunlockr mention another rooting process but i m not able to compelete it ..how can i root it any other way??
I have a my touch 3g 32B and I have the 2.2 Froyo update from T-Mobile. I am trying to root the phone because I do not like this update. Can someone please tell how to root 2.2 on this phone or how to go back to 1.6 Donut so I can root this phone. I am stuck and do not want to buy a new phone because I like this phone and I am short on funds as well. So if someone can please help I would greatly appreciate it.

The kit does it for you. You apparently haven't read it closely enough. If you run into trouble they have an irc chat room where you can ask for help.
The kit works PROVIDED you have it running on a clean environment.

1. In DHD go to Setting -->Application --> Development --> check the USB Debbuging
2. Connect DHD to your PC, Charge Only Mode
3. Run hack_ace.cmd from AAHK folder, you'll see notice to stop watching TV
4. Don't close the cmd windows, go to aahk-xxxx folder/tools/txt/ there is one .txt file, open it with text editor and input whatever written in it to the cmd windows. You should now redirected to the hack process.
5. Press 1 then Enter to proceed to hack process.

Apparently im using ubuntu12.04beta2 precise,its easier in linux but its just failing..in support irc i was told to get a new sd card-"new" not just a different one...devblock r/w failed in my card when creating a goldcard...
Im buying new one soon & just try again..
Try using the ubuntu version listed in the ace hack kit. I tried with the ubuntu live cd 11.04 (i think that was the version) didnt work. The recommended one in the manual was 10.something - perhaps the version number has something to do with it now working, I don't know. Then I did it through windows with no problems.

The Advanced Ace Hack kit really needs a clean environment along with latest driver from HTC. I almost bricked my DHD because of a somewhat older driver. Thankfully, things were fixed after installing the correct driver version.

The Hack Kit works for all phones, but needs to downgrade the firmware first. It is all in the manual. You need just to provide a clean environment for the Kit to work...everything is done by the kit and you will b prompted to follow instructions....

I want to root my phone, and I came across a guide on this site ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921175 ) and it says I should use SuperOneClick 1.7 RageAgainstTheCage, but I cant find version 1.7 anywhere (The website has links to megaupload which is no longer functioning.)
I downloaded version 2.3.3 and it only has the normal option or ZergRush.option, and I know I shouldnt just attempt to do it without knowing what im doing, so what im wondering is...
Is it possible to root my phone with version 2.2.3?
