Hi.
I got my xperia Play yesterday. I istalled many games and apps and made the update to the news official ROM. Sinse today morning the square button does not work in some games. I noticed it on Asphalt 6. Then i tried on DDSW and the button works perfecly.
Then i tried some more and came to the following results:
Asphalt6 -> not working
Bruce Lee -> not working
Crash Bandicoot -> not working
N64oid -> working
Backstab- > working
DDSW-> working
deadspace-> not working
fifa -> not working
star battalion -> not working
On the games i market as workin, the button does not make any problems, it just works perfectly. So the button can not be broken.
Does anyone now what to do?

If what I did is really the only solution, then I think you do need root I am not certian that what I did fixed it. You did try rebooting your phone?
yes. i even pulled the bettery out and let it off half a day. nothing changed. Isnt it able to wipe cache without rooting? on the Defy (my previouse device) it was able via stock recovery.
EDIT: I made a hard reset, solved the problem.

I have this problem too. The square button works in games perfectly for a while but eventually it stops working (only in games)
I reset the phone settings only (not a full wipe) and it works again
Been trying to figure out if I'm doing anything that messes with the system but I can't think of anything.
Oh, and I've tried wiping caches with Root toolbox, titanium and other apps, doesn't solve it for me.
Using stock 2.3.3, rooted, bl locked.

Seems without adding anything to my A7, in the past day it is literally non stop FC'ing on the above process. I hit Force Close and it keeps coming back (not immediately, more like randomly without 10-25 seconds). Only thing I've did extra n the tablet lately is play Angry Birds. Should I try to clear it's DB even though I haven't loaded it today? Also would like to state that I have rebooted and even shut down the tablet, and it still does it.
what have you done to it? stock firmware update? DexterMod? Stock fresh out of the box?

Guess in my first version of this thread, before I edited it, I had that information (morning brain fart).
DexterMod v1.3 + BT Fix
Worked fine yesterday morning then it started FCing out of the blue. I've begun (even though none of the apps were installed immediately prior to the FCs) uninstalling widgets that I installed. Next is to start on programs (I did however uninstall Button Savior as I know it loads on startup so I was thinking that was causing it even though it had been on the device for a couple days running flawlessly).
Got tired of messing with it. Did a Cache Partition Wipe and Device Wipe and it's back to normal DexterMod v1.3. This seems to have resolved the issue so it must have been something with one of the databases on the applications that I had installed. Will see once I reload all my apps.
Well, I did it.
Unrooted my nook (turned off, turned on pressing both lower side buttons, cleared everything, logged in, deregistered, logged in again), installed update (went fine) and rerooted (using touchnooter 1.6.24).
Launcher is working, button saviour too, but I can't get market to download anything at all... I wanted to use astro file manager to sideload a newer version of the market, but no success at all. But wifi is working fine with standard browser. I'll try to adb the market apk later...
And the Serial Number for my nook went to 00000000000!
I hope I can get myself out of this mess.

Well, SN is back again, but still nothing on market.
Is there a way to do the touchnooter with the newer version of the market?
And maybe include the ad-hoc hack would be good!

Hi, I updated my Nook Touch twice due to some glitches when I did a backup. I don't have any problem at all. Everything is fine, including market.
My Play store suddenly stop to download. I use Kyrillos 9.6 rom from 2 weeks and i hasn`t problems before.
But now it`s opening normal, but images are missing and i can`t download nothing. Just says "downloading..." and nothing more...
I try to clear Play store /cache/data. without succsess. Cleared davlink Cache, CACHE, I reflashed the rom, but same again. Even i uninstalled my current version 3.8.17 and reinstalled again , again without succsess.
I don`t know what is the reason for that, but it`s a very irritrating.
My sister play store works on Galaxy TAB and there is no problems with play store.
Sooo if you have a idea what cause that problem please share

Re-flash the ROM, then remove "/system/app/MarketUpdater.apk (not sure if it's named like this or not)" with Root Explorer. This will disable the Market updater.

i`m sick to reflashing the rom, i will hardbrick my phone if i continue in the same way.
Ok. I reflash the rom, and deleted Market Updater.apk. After that started the Play Store. But before it ask me upgrade to new market.
I click ok. AND guess the same again

maybe i should change my phone.
Well if you have the money you should upgrade your phone. Also, flashing ROMs wont brick your phone as long as the ROM doesn't have the bootloader file. Custom ROMs don't have bootloaders so it is safe to flash.

Finally Solved!
Ok, i solved the problem.
1. Reflash the ROM
2. Delete Market Updater.apk (look Jason-EX post)
3. CWM Recovery, clear the Cache
4. Install old/new market updater from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231358
5. Select which market to use: OLD or NEW ( I use OLD market 2.3.5, and it is a very fast and smooth without lags compared with google play)
6. Reboot

I recently installed Minimal OS v3.0 on my N9005, and everything worked fine up to now.
Now when I start any app, it just works fine for secs, and crashes without giving any error. I tried to update/reinstall them, not fixed, restarted, same, I even did a cache/dalvik cache wipe and a permission fix before restarting but I still get this problem.
I recently installed XPosed. Could it be from there ?
So I just need help, and it would be awesome if you had a way to fix this !

Yesterday I got official M ota on my Moto G 2 Lte (Xt 1078 - Brazil)!
Just updated and everything was ok, no reset was needed.
Some tips:
- Can't activate System Ui Tuner:
In the developer options I turned off animations. Just restored the default option (1x) in all 3 animations, restarted
the device and voila, I could activate the System Ui Tuner (holding the cog icon). After that, disable the animations
again did no mess.
- Igo stopped working:
Just uninstalled and reinstalled the app (without delete the files), and it's working again.
- Greenify stopped showing black screen while hibernating apps (screen flickering):
Needed to give it permission to overlap other apps (in Settings > Applications > Advanced (cog wheel))
- Smart unlocker stopped working:
Works on the "Universal version"
A factory reset is always a good thing when you do a major version update, and reading "Just uninstalled and reinstalled the app (without delete the files???), and it's working again" lead me to think a factory reset should fix all your problems. Sad thing you can't backup your appdata or you will end in the same situation, not sure but mostly possible.

But the only problem I had was the app Smart Unlock that isn't working in 6.0, I found the solution.... everything else is fine.
Factory reset is a last resort, because if I do it my bank app will require an activation in the bank, and I don't want to go there...

Thanks for the advice, but my device isn't rooted and the Helium backup doesn't works for my bank (it has a #@$ seed for code generation, just Titanium can backup it, but I didn't rooted it).
I won't worry about it, because didn't reset it and it's working flawlessly....
