Surprisingly, they explain everything but how to disassemble main speaker.

I posted this in the G2 Hinge Fixed thread but it took me a long time to just find the thread so I thought I would start a thread so those looking for a great how to video could easily find it. Here is my post from that thread.
Okay, so I have been wanting to do this (fix the hinge on my phone) for a long time but didn't feel there was a good enough video showing how to do this. Well, I found the perfect video. I did not make this video and all credit goes to repairuniverse.com
http://www.repairsuniverse.com/htc-t...air-guide.html
Follow the 1st video until about 4:10. That will get you to the hinge. Then just remove the two screws with the cover on the hinge and you will see the spring that is shown in the picture on the first page of this post. Then remove the spring and stretch it, or replace it, or shim it, or which ever of the many solutions you want to try. I stretched mine just to see how it works. And it works amazing. I will probably get a replacement spring in the future. Then just reverse what you did in the video to put it all back together. Took me about 30 minutes total time, and I didn't break anything and the hinge is awesome. I have never taken a cell phone apart before so I am not an expert or anything and I was able to do it no problem. I did not watch the 2nd video, maybe it shows how to put back together. The video is for replacing a broken screen, that is why I said stop at 4:10 and I didn't watch the 2nd video. Hope this helps, it sure helped me.
Great with this I'll be able to get the dust off the inside of my screen if I do everything right, thanks

did u have the pry tools to do it? If not what did u use?
I used a razor blade, once I got a little gap I got a small flat head screwdriver and worked it around just like they did with the tool. Worked great, no damage. Just take your time. Hope that helps.

Great find! Now I can consider upgrading the spring on the slide mechanism.

Hmm. That's quite interesting to read.
I was hoping to tell what GPS chipset we are using in it, but I'm not sure it's in there.

Thank you for posting this !!
I'm trying to disassemble my Galaxy Note but don't get it. How does the second step work? How to "disjoint the hooks"? Ive been trying serveral hours now but nothing happens except for that I am damaging the plastic "metallic look" frame.
Doesnt work neither with the standard plastic opening tools nor with a credit card. Would like to see pictures or a video on how to do that.
Thank you!

Don't try to disjoint from back, whole black and gray part in the back are just 1 part actually. try it from front. i mean seperate the gray part from the front screen.
Look at sammobile.com for the servicemanuals. It tells you how!

As I wrote above, I already have the Service Manual. However, it doesn't help, cause it only says disjoint it on different spots. There is no indication how to do that.
What do you mean by separating it from the front? Do you have a picture?
Thank you
hey guys I scratched my bezel, is it easy to replace the bezel, I am a non technical person, so is it a matter of just removing the 9 screws
Here is a good video on Youtube:
Great Info Bro!
Thanks for the posting!
And the Russian HD Version!
Hello,
So i had removed the Back Cover of my Galaxy Note to check something and now the Speakers and Mic will not work, i never touched anything to do with Mic or the Speakers,
Can someone help me please!
Thanks!
My girlfriend has a broken LCD screen after a nasty drop. The glass isn't broken, but there are black spots appearing on the screen and it looks like the LCD is leaking(?) or something.
I want to replace the screen, but I'm not sure what part I need. I think this is what I need and I think this is the process.

Yes, this looks pretty straightforward, but I just wanted a 2nd opinion. Can someone confirm this for me? Also, has anyone had a similar experience and if so, did you replace the screen and/or do you have any tips?
Here is a picture of the screen.
Thanks for everyone and anyone's help!

The part you linked from Repairs Universe is indeed the part you need.
Also, be sure to buy the specific set of tools required for opening the Droid X
There are several videos out there to help you tear down the device and replace the LCD.
If you have any other questions don't be afraid to ask

Thanks for the help, I'm ordering the part now -- here's hoping I don't screw it up.
So I cracked my rear camera today. My question is how do I know if its just the lens or the actual camera which has been cracked?
I can take pictures however they seem to have a faint blur and don't focus.
Also does anyone know if this will come under warranty

I don't know about the warranty, but I'd guess no. Can't hurt to call them and ask though.
The part is like $20 (USD)
And it's SUPER easy to swap it out yourself.
Here's a guide. With pictures. Specifically for swapping the camera.
https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Samsung+Galaxy+S4+Rear+Facing+Camera+Replacement/16538
Here is a video guide for complete disassembly of the phone. The videos can be more helpful in seeing how to take it apart.

Once you have the new camera you will see that the whole unit just plugs into the motherboard. Once the board is removed from the phone you literally just unplug the broken one and plug in the new one. It should take no more than 15 minutes to swap out the camera from start to finish.

So is the camera broken or the lens?
Also the replacement part you spoke of, will it be like the 13 megapixel one I have now or a knock off? Because I thought it would cost way more for a 13 megapixel camera.

I have no idea. You'd have to take it apart and look at it. If it's the lens then I think those are available on eBay and Amazon for like $7 USD
As for the camera itself, buyer beware. They are all over the internet for $20 - $30. Some get rave reviews as being perfect. Some get complaints that they don't work at all.
I have a suspicion that many of the negative reviews are people who don't know what they are doing or who bought the wrong part. The i9500 S4 and all the others (i9505, M919, etc etc etc) are different S4s with different camera hardware. Most people probably don't realize that all S4's aren't the same.
Here's an ad for one...
http://www.repairsuniverse.com/samsung-galaxy-s4-rear-camera.html
It talks about making sure you have the right phone for this part and how to tell the difference. I don't endorse that website. You'll have to research it yourself to see if it's legit or not. I've never used it or heard of it before today. It was the first thing that popped up on a Google search and it seemed to have good info on the replacement parts.
In any case, it's not an expensive part. It's all about finding the correct one for your device.
Also, make sure you get the REAR camera and not the front one. One genius on Amazon reviews said how this is the entirely wrong part and it doesn't fit in the phone at all. He was clearly trying to change the front camera and ordered the rear camera. So take your negative reviews with a grain of salt. There are a lot of 'repair experts' out there who shouldn't be allowed to change the battery.
I have the Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 inch and I have been looking for a How to video to replace the screen.
I have tried to pry around the edges and all I see to do is break the glass more. Does anyone have a video or a link to a page? Searching has not been successful.
Thanks,
Id say to do it the same way as the phones by heating the screen with a hot air gun so you dont mess up the digitizer.
The glass is the digitizer on this device as it is embedded into it. But the heat gun is the only way to remove the adhesive and use a real thin guitar pick to get under the glass to remove it

Won't let me send the link to help u . Go to YouTube and click on Samsung sm-t230nu and how top replace the screen. I think it's the first video, not in English but it doesn't matter, he's got a song paying, hee doesn't speak. this is a link that hopefully will help with ur screen!
I found while looking for the same thing. Hope it helps! (Or maybe you can help me)!
I have a Samsung t230nu that is shattered.. I've gotten a replacement but looked it up today too check u how much$ $ it would take to fix it. On eBay and others the glass is between 20-35$.... I then looked at the YouTube video and figured I could do it. I then called that's why because nobody else is really open and I explained it all to the Geek Squad guy that answer the phone he then proceeded to tell me it would cost about $250 and not worth it that I should buy a new one I told him that I have found the glass on line for 2240 bucks and can I just do it myself and he said absolutely not and it has to be done out of house they don't even do it in house for $250 ( and this was between him speaking to me and speaking to his coworker... LOUDLY... at the same time. So he did not really have time for me. But I do hope the video I sent helps! Good luck and let me know how u did!
