If you root your phone you can remove bloatware like Sprint nav, Sprint tv, Sprint zone, some of the HTC things like news stocks I mean you can do a whole lot once rooted

There are apps to control start up apps too once you root.

Alright well I just rooted my phone, do you suggest any apps to control the start ups?
Startup cleaner 2.0 looks well..but there aren't many apps that delay starting..so if you want to look into it go ahead but the difference wouldn't be enormous

Removed the obvious ones, PlayNow and setup wizard, news and weather widget but wondered what other system bloatware can go...

any you want backup the .apk, and if it messes up your phone, restore it
I removed the digital clocks. I froze crash monitor and SE Sync and I didn't have any problems. There's more but I can't recall without my phone with me.
They were constantly running in the background.

It won't install. It says application installing for 2 or 3 seconds and then says application not installed
Sent from my R800i using XDA Premium App
Same
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
same.. probably since it's supposed to be a system file.. well i dunno exactly why it won't install..
i think there should be a way to hard put it in your system
system/app might be worth a try...though who knows
i think ADB should fixit!
EDIT: moving it to system/app wont cut it,tried
with permissions set to 644?
How do you set them to that?
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
i haven't actually got this working since i'm kinda busy with work.. jeez..
anyway, instead of going through terminal again, you can just use Root Explorer to mount the system/app as R/W then set the permissions for the apk to rw-r--r-- like all the others.. that would be read and write for user, and read only for both group and others..
Gets a force close

jeez.. im almost readying to test..

Try using this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30258279
It removes most of the bloat but read carefully what each package contains because you might need some apps later. Every app listed in that tool is safe to remove.

Thanks.
I use SystemCleanup to remove all those unwanted apps among other things. You should give it a try. It's a great app.

I've noticed a very useful disable option for almost every app in the 4.3 Android version...! I wanted to root my Xperia very much to disable the crap from Sony and Google and save my battery life... And this option is everything that I need... When some app is disabled, she disappear from the menu and it can be found only in app menu under "disabled ". And it's great because it work for almost every app - Google Chrome, Sony Select and the other garbage... I've searched in Google - there was nothing, so I share it with you.... I'm sorry if it's in the wrong section....

Have it since 4.2. It is not a feature of 4.3.
Sent from my Xperia Z using XDA Premium 4 mobile app.
Nothing new about that... That feature goes around since the early 4.x... But it is a handy feature indeed... On a cheaper Phone like for work you can simply disable almost everything and this is all in favour of the battery...

Yes, a handy tool indeed... Mind you, not all apps can be disabled.
