MIUI Rom and whatsapp contacts issues

i tried to look for it. and i just found 1 thread...but it didnt really help me out..so thought about posting it here..
basically copied from the other thread...i have the exact same problem..

I've just installed miui rom and I really like it the only problem is
Whatsapp is unable to find any of my contacts don't know why !!
Although it appears just fine in other apps ..
I wish there is a fix for this thing cause really like miui look and u also can't live without whatsapp.
let me know if you guys can help me out.

i have kind of the same problem.. i installed the miui rom and nog at the screen receiving sms for conformation, the complete telephone reboots (everytime).
Can someone tell me how i can fix this?

Ok, if I remember correctly : reassign the app's permissions manually in the SuperUser app.
I'm sure a simple search in a MIUI thread would have give you the same answer.
Actually the first link of a "whatsapp bug miui" google search will give you the fix. Try to search next time...

well, why didn't you post it in that thread when there was the same question and open up a new one?
i'm on ndt ginger and whatsapp is working without problems for me.

put all your contacts in gmail under "My Contacts" without any label and resync the google and whatspp account in your mob thats it all contacts will appear again on whatsapp & viper

I need help!

I know this is not my phone forum, but I can't find it anywhere.
I am new here,sorry if I act as a scumbag.
I installed CM7 ROM yesterday, I don't know alot, but I installed it using ROM Manager as another app ), I could not do a backup since my phone froze while it. Wich makes me 3000% more an idiot because I tought it was easy.
Well it was, it upgraded me from 2.2 to 2.3.7 and I installed an ICS theme, not a big deal
But there was this problem since first moment I had CM7: Wifi error.
I left some pics so you could see ROM version, kernel version and my signal, of it has to do with this.
Also I am having a problem opening the Market, it asks me to connect an account, even tough I have mine, and then it just closes.
Please if you know solutions for this, explain them good to me, I barely know about this. Or if there is an easy way, please, please help me.

It also seems that I have bad sync with my Google account. Here are some screenshots. I had to add my family manually since it appeared as if I had no contacts. The white screen is my attempt to open Gmail, it won't even load and then crash.

it happens every time :( sound problem)

i dont know why but every time i try new rom after a while of use sound stop working ! only restart helps and than its happens again
i try to change radio not fix i dont know what to do when i have no sound i cant talk on phone or do a lot of things...
someone know this problem?!? or how to fix it?? please help

What is exactly "a while"? Do you do something specific? Is it after a deep sleep?
I'd say, to rule out hardware, return to complete stock and use it for a few unit time, see if the problem is still there, then come back here.

Do you use Viber or any similar kind of Voip app, if yes then only solution is to uninstall this kind of app. Htc hd2 have issue which isn't solved with Viber.

Then my advice would be to not use video/audio features of Hangouts. Imho Hd2 had allways some kind of Voip issue( some ppl would argue about this statement). I had tried to use alot of Voip apps from beginning of Hd2 appearance on market, not believe it will be ever completely solved.

[Q] Whatsapp messages only received when I open the app?

Hi guys.
Well the title says it all really. Have done my research online but just cant find a solution. Im running the latest version of whatsapp and have tried all of the solutions as recommended on all found sites (whatsapp's own included) but the problem persists.
Any ideas/fixes greatly appreciated.

Im also having same issue with whatsapp and problem is, im using greenify but whatsapp is not greenified as its my main msg app, but since few days im noticing that i recv msgs only if i open whatsapp. Any solution to that?

If you move whatsapp to your ext sd card ...you loose the wakeup feature....try moving it back to the phone memory and restart...hope it fixes your issue

Even my whatsapp is installed in data/app den also have same issue. Notifications coming late or only when i open app. N my friends says im ignoring dem

I'm on note 1 and im also facing same issue. I could see msgs only if i open app or sometimes if i restart device.

From my experience it sounds like a network issue, are you on 3G/4G? or Wifi?
Previously when I was on a crappy carrier (Vodafone AU 3G) I would get delayed messages, but now with a better carrier (Telstra 4G) I get them almost instantly. In fact I get messages faster on 4G than on any WiFi I've ever connected this includes a Wireless N network with a 100mpbs down / 2mbps up cable connection.

Well try reinstalling whatsapp strainght from the playstore....try changing your rom....maybe its a bug there....also there is a modded version of whatsapp called Whatsapp+ ...check that out as well

It happened to me last night, whatsapp woke up when i touched the phone , it doesnt happen much often, i think the problem is not in our devices, its more like whatsapp's servers on huge pressure causing the delay in receiving msgs.

Maybe you could try "push notification fixer" From the playtore. It is worth giving it a try

same problem here. The messages arrive only when I open the app.
It was occuring while I was with samsung rom, but its more often now with an AOSP (omnirom). I dont think its rom or device related.

- Go to your custom recovery
- Wipe cache and dalvik cache only
- Reboot ur phone
- Whatsapp working again :highfive:

Silly fix. Won't solve this problem whatsoever. But hey, trying it out won't do much harm anyway.

This thread has been dead for a long time and whatsapp issue as well but lately it resurfaced on a friend's phone not mine and yet we have the same OS/ROM same whatsapp version etc. but strangely he doesn't receive messages unless he opens the app
I have noticed this happens only when he is connected to his wifi network because as soon as he disables it to switch to 3G he receives the messages so I have come up with a workaround using tasker to disable and re-enable wifi periodically so that he receives the messages only a few seconds after they are sent
This has been happening since a couple of whatsapp updates ago but since the latest update it has been much worse
I hope this issue will be resolved soon and in the meantime if this has been discussed on some other thread or forum please feel free to redirect me

[Q] Strange issue - receiving phone calls

I have never seen this before, and I am hoping someone knows what to do.
After installing Hyperdrive 17.1 when i receive a phone call it will display +1(and the number) even if I have the person as a contact, then if i want to call back i have to remove the + sign before trying otherwise it simply won't do anything. I am not saying this is an issue with the rom (and I really doubt it) maybe something i am missing.. Any idea?
After doing some more research this seems to be related to the Global ready settings, but I can't find how to disable this.

I get a 1 before it too but no +1 and the call back function works fine ... Im on RLS17.1 also ... My phone is unlocked and I am using tmobile but I was using att just a few days ago and it wasn't a problem .. must be something you need to change in your network setting (Possibly)

That sucks ... I would put a post in the Hd thread with this issue .. sbreen is good about answering and fixing .. Im a safestrap user and there is really no other rom that I want to use ... Although they are all good HD has more functions without the need to install xposed framework .. Also the 4way multiwindow is the sh!t... Hats off to all the developers

Several of us with hyperdrive are seeing this. See recent posts in the hyperdrive att rom thread. I started a general q&a thread about it in hopes of finding solution, figuring it is a setting not just specific to that ROM. I hope a solution is found because I like that ROM.
