Hello!
I just signed up with you because I like to know if there is a ROM that can overclock Xperia Play?
I saw there the CM 7.1 in development, I think.
Can you confirm?
Is it stable?
Where to Download?
Sorry for my poor English ...
thank you

First in order to overclock you need an unlocked bootloader, only factory unlocked devices can unlock there bootloaders, there are also some downsides to this process, you should read the stickies in the android development section
Thank you
Hello and thank you for your reply.
I saw the thread that talks about it and I unlocked the bootloader, do I also get the system as root, I also installed the ROM "Rogers".
What can I do next?
again, thank you

Ok now you have an unlocked bootloader, you can flash this rom from fastboot:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098736
this will give you the latest firmware with root access
Once you have done that, you should flash this kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176502
this will give you a custom recovery, the ability to overclock and insecure ADB
Hello,
Again thank you for your precious help!
I went on the first link and I followed all the steps correctly for the SDK MANAGER
Then I downloaded R800i_3.0.1.A.0.145_UK_system.img
I put it in the Tools folder and I opened the command line:
cd \ android-sdk-windows \ tools
fastboot devices
Then ...
fastboot flash system R800i_3.0.1.A.0.145_UK_system.img
all goes well, it finished successfully.
When turn on the phone it only reboot:
On the screen there is "Sony Ericsson" for two minutes, then removed to get back ten seconds later, here we go again ...
In short it does not start, do you have an idea?
again, thank you

You can either try flashing it again or use flashtool to flash a tft file to recover...
i sugest you try to flash the system image again, but first before you flash type in
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
then
fastboot flash system R800i_3.0.1.A.0.145_UK_system.img
Hello again,
Thank you for your advice,
I had already formatted so many times I went to your second solution right away
And it works! it lights : D: D
So then I have to download the file:
boot.img (v03) (via flash this file to install this kernel fastboot)
Play Prerooted OC + + Kernel Recovery 3.0.1.A.0.145
and do:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
?

sorry for the time, I redid everything from A to Z to make sure that I have not forgotten.
And finally no ...
My Xperia play starts, when I put the file "boot.img" file "kernel-beta1"
But once in SetCPU I can not overclock
Have you any idea?

You used flashtool to flash the rom right not fastboot? so your not rooted
Ok first download the attached .zip and copy it to the root of your sd card
now download this image
http://www.multiupload.com/VC3JRZ74H0
copy it to your fastboot folder & connect your device in fasboot mode
type into a prompt "fastboot boot recoveryPLAY.img"
when recovery pops up on the screen, select install zip from sd card, choose the .zip you just downloaded and install it, then reboot device and you should be rooted
Yet as I was typing the commands:
fastboot.exe-i 0x0fce getvar version
fastboot.exe 0x0fce oem-i unlock 0xKEY
He told me I was root ...
WOW how you did that!
I hallucinated seeing it on the screen!
I did exactly as you told me, and everything went very well.
and the phone came on very quickly!
but I went in "SetCPU" and the max is still 1024.
there are other things to do?
Again thank you for your help!

Kernel version:

open superuser and make sure setcpu have root permission

SetCPU authorized by superuser but it makes no difference ... :/

OK, After a lot of searching i found out that i had my phone Bootloader Unlocked before flashing,
And after that i tried to flash it and i got the error and it wont boot.
From what i red i only have 2 things to do :
1- Get the phone booting but without radio.
2- give it to sony and tell them that it just crashed while i was updating it.(And don't tell them anything about to root or the bootloadr)
So please if anyone knows any better way to fix it please tell me.

You didnt need to unlock you bootloader to use flashtool, but now you have just flash a system.img from fastboot, your phone isnt bricked unless you tried to do an OTA updated with an unlocked bootloader

Try formatting /system and /boot first,
In fastboot type in
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase boot
Then flash this kernel with the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img"

finally flash this system image with command "fastboot flash system xxxxxx.img"

Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere but is there a dummies guide / video for installing Doomlord kernel onto my play? the full process i.e. how to unlock your bootloader, to the app and images you need to download, and then the process.
A nice youtube video would be great. TIA
neil
Am busy, but there are lots of videos on how to unlock your bootloader for xperias.I think it was by androidsoul community? If you type in Unlockbootloader for Play, you gonna get e-z results.
Whats your model too?Use the very same fastboot ,the one you used to unblock bootloader,to get DK3
Hi, I have unlocked my bootloader. there was a video on youtube using fastboot.
I have a r800I,
2.3.2
build 3.0.a.2.184
What next?
Alright.
Grab a flashtool 2.9.1 ,install gordons gate drivers 22 found in the flashtool Drivers Folder.
Grab this Firmware : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1255095
you may get a bootloop if you dont wipe user data.
Flash it with the X10Flashtool.exe
Follow the instructions zactly.
Then use Fastboot to flash boot the DK3.img
HI, I have flashed back to Uk generic many times, so think I can do the first part.
I do not understand this bit sorry
Then use Fastboot to flash boot the DK3.img
Alright.
After you have the 4.0.A (2.3.3 ,not 2.3.2) you drag the DoomKernel3 img to fastboot folder, shift +rightclick and type this in
fastboot flash boot doomkernel3.img (or in your case its boot.img)
Ok, just so I have it straight.
donwload image. Flash the new image just like a did the old UK Generic. (i.e. using flash tool, then pressing back button connected to PC)
Do I let it boot normally? Or do I go straight to removing battery then boot up holding the Search key (blue light) and doing the flash boot command?
so many thanks for this

No you use a cmd window on your pc and 'cd' /to/the/path/of/fastboot or open your fastboot folder and in an empty space, ctrl+shift - open in cmd - then type the command issued 'fastboot flash boot boot.img'. You need to hold search button while connecting the usb, when the phone is off to get into fastboot mode. Done correctly the blue light should appear.

Well, since you are unlocked, now you will need to download TWRP and put it in you fastboot folder (you need to know how to flash in a command prompt and have the files in the right place:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277112
after you put the recovery image in your fastboot folder, you type this in a command window (while in the right directory):
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
(recovery.img = "name of your recovery file.img")
Then you will have TWRP installed. From there, you can either use the toolkit and move files over to flash a Rom or use command prompt commands to move the files to your device memory or just flash the Rom using fastboot commands (it tells you how in the tutorial I linked to.)
The rest is easy. Surf in TWRP and flash away.

every version of "HuaweiUpdateExtractor" which i have found, did not work for me! Because the PLK-L01 is missing in the device selection setup! Please can you give me a link off a working Extractor?
BTW: isn’t it enaugh, to solve the above described problem to flash the ori. recovery with fastboot or adb?
i would try:
1.) connect the phone to pc
2.) open the communication to the phone using adb-tool v1.0 ore otherwise with the command "adb
devices"
3.) flashing the recovery with "fastboot flash recovery.img"
4.) and than restarting the phone with "fastboot reboot recovery.img"
ore otherwise
4.) reboot the phone with pressing the 3 right key simultaneously longer than 5 sec. to restart flashing the update.app file.
is that way wrong? Please explain.

hey there, someone with better experience than me will surely help you out a lot better, but i can guarantee that the 0.9.9.3 release works
just leave "unknown (worstenbrood)" as profile, pick your update.app file, unpack it
personally i used the b121 rom, and flashed it on my phone with adb, more or less as you described, loading both recovery.img and system.img from update.app... "fastboot devices" > "fastboot flashrecovery recovery.img" > "fastboot flashsystem system.img".
this did the trick with me
at my first try i get only more than 25 nameless files! So i thought the procedure miss.
so my question now, how will they get there names? Than’ks for your reply.

Try to extract only these 2 files (system.img and recovery.img) separately.
For those who will kill their phones without backups:
1. you need to extract boot.mg (usually 10.boot.img) and system.mg (usually 14.system.img)
2. Somehow get into fast boot mode (from TWRP reboot>>reboot into boot loader
3. Connect the phone to the computer and (using platform-tools from Android SDK) from terminal:
fastboot flash boot 10.boot.img
fastboot flash system 14.system.img
fastboot reboot
The version of the ROM is of no importance

Please help, I have just bought a new Huawei Honor 7, PLK-UL00.
I want to root my phone, but not without having a stock rom so I can flash back, But i've looked everywhere but can't find downloadable stock roms.
Clicking on this link http://www.hihonor.com/en/pages/support#?view=downloads
redirects me to http://hihonor.in/#?view=downloads (indian site) where there is no Rom listed for the Honor 7.
Please help.

Thanks so much for the quick reply, just one question though, is this a Chinese Rom, or is it an English one?
I ask because the linked website is in Chinese.
Thanks again!

I instaled persona78's B600 mod on TWRP 3.0.2-0 and rebooted. Just boot logo. Nothing else. No recovery, no fastboot, nothing. After struggling a bit I mamaged to get into fastboot, but when I run adb command in Windows 8.1 it says "waiting for device" and that's it. I tried several tools and "kits" with more functions, one of them being TWRP.
Please help! Tommorow morning I have a working trip and I extremely need my phone, and in my country it's already 1:00 a.m.
I will be very thankful for any solution and fast response.
Thanks!

should return your device's serial number. Then you can go ahead and flash the 4 needed partions from the stock ROM with fastboot.
First of all, you need the 4 .img files for boot, recovery, cust and system.
You can get these as follows:
On this page you can find all ALE-L21 firmware. Find the latest. The latest FULL firmware for Europe region is C432B602 (Dual SIM) and C432B603 (Single SIM). Download the FULL version (not OTA) and use Huawei Update Extractor to extract boot, recovery, cust, and system as .img files
Open a command window in the folder with the files and rename them accodingly if you wish (e.g. 06.boot.img -> boot.img)
Then you can flash them in fastboot mode like this:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash cust cust.img
fastboot flash system system.img

That last one may take a bit. Then you can do
fastboot reboot
