So I'm sure many of you have seen this rumour floating around that Sprint pushed the Moment 2.1 update today. Anyone have any confirmation on this?

What is up with this ozarguide site and bad information. This links to the following statement:
Good news for Samsung Moment owners as it has become the fourth phone to receive the highly awaited Android 2.1 update. Just after the Nexus One, HTC Hero and the Motorola Droid, Sprint rolled out the update today morning.
Does anyone see something wrong in this statememt? (Other than the obvious grammar error that is!)

No, my friend has a Moment and she said NO UPDATE.
does anyone know when they gonna release the update ota.
sorry man, i haven't seen tmo release OTA updates for their WM devices. Most likely you'll have to download a RUU file and install it from pc.

There's an article on tmonews.com saying it's expected to drop today (5/18), but xtenpeben is right, it'll be a PC-based installer not OTA.

That update that the article was talking about was most likely the updated t-mo rom from this last week that's already been released.
Link is back up for the update for those that didn't get it the first go around.
Just remember to put "http" before the backslash since new members can't post links

Yes, it will probably just be the same one that was leaked last week...the article was just saying that Tmo would be "officially" releasing it today, and I've heard reports elsewhere that back that up.
ok,so is it worth updating to the new rom? i seened a lot of post from people talking about the problems with the new rom and rarely any positives so what do you guys think.

I'm giving it another week or two at least before I make the move. I think there's a lot of people who actually waited for the official release, so we'll start getting more feedback about it soon. You can call it "crowdsourcing the testing phase"...I'm waiting 'till I see more data
sirphunkee,im doing the same,i didnt really go through any of the issues tbat people were listing besides the data connection drop/switch(praying i don't jinx it) so it wouldn't kill me to wait a little longer, thanks for the feedback

Good idea And, if that's really the only issue you've had with the original ROM, you might be able to address it by flashing a new radio rather than a whole new ROM. I'm particularly waiting for that type of feedback on the new release...reception stability, etc.
Seems like some people have had OTA requests and have updated to 024 and new baseline.
State what region and if branded/unbranded.
Wonder if Rogers branded units got this update as well...

I got it. Im on AT&T in the US. The phone is UK vodafone branded, it was the 14 before the update. I got it last night as I was waiting for sunrise.
Damn and there was me being excited about getting r2ba023 today. Looks like i'm already behind the times!
i have never got an update (austria / A1)
is this legit.. if it is i wonder what's the change gonna be??
What are differences and news??
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
i dont thin its legit, or perhaps just region based.. its the same this as my update on rogers.. can anyone elaborate??

I have a feeling its all the same update. I bet they just change the number based on the date it was released to which region.

It is legitimate but it does take up to a month for release post certification.
You are correct in stating that most are regionally specific versions of the same update but the "R2C" series would be something different.

The 2.1 update is so huge so I'd expect a bigger bump like R3 or even R5 if the marketdroids have any say.
We are actually 13 days into Q3.... only 79 days until Q4.... I so wish SE would be more open with their f/w update plans.. I'm very pleased with what R2BA020 has done to my handset... but what else may be coming in the pipeline is just distracting !!!

Sure it is, I like to update to have a smoother experience but on the other hand I am not a flash adict to update every now and then. Its fun but time consuming.
Lets hope to have bigger updates. Where is the log published by SE?
i have a rogers x10a on unlocked on att. everytime i try the update i get a network error. and i've got 3 bars of 3g. i don't understand. usually it says either your phone is currently up to date or there is a new update. not network error...

No OTA, SEUS only for the update but we are still at R2BA020 released July 2nd.
Hey friends..
Many ppl placed there bets for 25th ie tommorow, and some for next month and some are not expecting only for 2.1
My question is how much time do you all refresh the xda general question page in a day to read something or other about 2.1?
Let me start from myself i refresh around 10 times in a an hour.
If mods find this topic silly, they can delete it
MODERATORS ADDENDUM
Ive renamed this thread to discussion as a lot of you want that
a few pointers though
no trolling even if its a joke, it turns sour very quickly
and negative comments about anything will be deleted, this is not ,as someone in the SE product blog suggested im on the payroll its because this is a development forum, so that type of talk isn't really a contribution

i have a phone from the UK, it's not branded and it's not sim locked, i'm using it on a Croatian Tele 2 network
do i have to wait for my carrier or can i just download 2.1 once it's ready and update from seus?

Nice,
Thanks for the info!
It only took them a couple of hours to respond to my email.
Let's hope when we get OTA update we still keep our root like the people did in the arc section. Seems like if do an OTA update from .181 (rogers only) you still keep root
I don't really care about rooting.

You mean Sony Ericsson told you, for a fact that, Rogers in Canada, will release the update on July 1st? Because I e-mailed Rogers and they wouldn't tell me anything.

If your Xperia Play (R800a) is rooted, do you have to use SEUS to update to 2.3.3 when it is released from Rogers? OTA updates do not work, right?

So the Arc users who were on 2.3.2 and on build .181, who rooted their Arc, were able to update to 2.3.3 via OTA update?
I am wondering if Player users in Canada who rooted their 2.3.2 with GingerBreak need to use SEUS to update to 2.3.3 when it is released or if OTA can still work with root in place.
