My 300 has been working perfectly up until now, but its suddenly acquired sleep of death. I have root, oveeclock, and the tweak from development. Tried uninstalling new apps etc... even widgetlocker...

How can I retain root through a full reset? What a bummer
Thanks guys
Note I'm on my phone now...

First cold boot resulted in a freeze, now it results in a gutted droid.... Worrying. It will boot normally but won't shut down... Not even for a factory reset. Any sleep crashes it

Pulling my micro sd has enabled ito do a factory reset, but still can't cold boot.
Sod seems fixed so far, but no cold boot worries me. And why would my sd cause these problems?

Still live blogging this fun. Cold boot works, I had been pressing up on the rocker... Silly me. What is falling there though?

Swapping two external cards quickly seems to have caused sleep of death. Now my external doesn't work in the 300 (haven't tried it in a computer yet). The 300 seems ok short of the other problem (up during cold boot causes gutted android). Thanks guys

I have done the cold boot a couple times. Once the cold boot option pops up you are given two choices. "Android" is the default which cold boots into Android. If you hit your volume rocker while on that screen you'll switch to the other option which is a data wipe (aka factory reset). Just a possibility as to what happened once you got into the cold boot screen.
When switching SD cards you do need to click the setting to unmount. Not sure it is necessary to turn off, but definitely unmount. You may have done that but I thought I'd mention it as a possibility.
Hope your Pad stays working now.

You might be on to something there, I did remove the card without ejecting, so I could understand data corruption/loss. However, why would a corrupted card cause sleep of death?
I see the two options under cold boot, but i had rocked up when the text first appears. I have now Successfully cold booted, but can't wipe data (dead android) Should I load a blob file? Are they like tots on LG? Hope it's simple software problems, not anything serious. If so, I have to swap it soon, and so far this one has been golden
Thanks for bearing with me

you don't have to press any option to cold boot. you power off, then hold power & volume down until prime reboots and you see white lettering up top. then let go. don't press anything. the prime will tell you if a choice is not made, it will automatically cold boot Linux aka Android.

post this issue in the developers thread on that tweak. you can also look in my thread for prime for help also. there's some tips n there and some other people came across same issue as you. just click on the link in my signature.
I'm inclined to think it wasn't the build.prop hack causing SOD, as I swapped back to original without it fixing it. At least for me it didn't cause it...?

Yes can not do anything. can not format or turn on or turn off my TF300, and now can not use it , I am finding a way to fix but still not find it, someone plz help plz...
Bad SD Card or corrupt files
The SOD on my Asus TF300T is 100% caused by a bad sd card or file(s) on the card.
Backup the card to your computer.
Erase/Format using your current android system.
Reboot and SOD ought to be gone.
Hey guys,
I've got a 32gb tf300 and a 32gb SD card. I've seen a few posts of people saying they use their SD card as internal memory. I've found a few posts but they are always device specific. Can anyone provide me additional information regarding this? Is it a universal process? Pros/cons of doing it? Thanks for your help
I dont think you can since android 4. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong though

I completely agree and I'm by no means scratching for space, its perhaps more of a learning exercise than anything else. Though it would be nice to be able to pin all of my music for offline listening with plenty of room to spare

I have a 64 gig sd card in mine... With 32gig internal.
I saw the thread on the tf201 where they did mount the data partition and it really speeds up tge slow data transfer rates on the prime.

Awesome thanks. I'll scour and see if I can find it. Hopefully the process is the same on the tf300

I guess you could... But with even the 16gig version and a sd card you should be straight. 64 gig class 6 sd card 65 bux... Can't complain, 32gig class 10's are 30 and under.

whooow, hold your horses, do i read 64GB sdcard? can i put a 64gb sdxc card in this thing??
i thought 32 gb SDHC was the max ...
ps (i dont have the dock)
Yes you can use 64 gB cards...I know of one guy who has 64 gb and 128 gb cards on dock in addition (total 288gb ..32+64+64+128 on his tf300)

Seriously how many games do you play at a time? ...I think 32gb internal is enough ..get the music, books, videos and rest on SD card...and if need lots of memory ...get a portable large usb drive 1 TB or so and connect to dock or USB adapter

Lately, I must turn off Wi-Fi and turn it back on to connect to any Wi-Fi source. Even if the device has just been sleeping.
Any suggestions besides throwing this thing away which is what I'd like to do?
Thanks

Same problem here. After deep sleep i have to turn wifi off and on again to be able to reconnect to my router.
mine does which i think is strange. I was just curious.
Thanks,
Actually it does not.
I thought every Android device wakes up when connecting the charger. All smartphones I got my hands on did. Though this can be disabled
Not it does not turn on. You may wanna check in settings if there's something to enable/disable it (don't know whether you're using a custom rom or not)
Every Android device does unless you modify the Android. Policy. Jar. I think that's the one. However my galaxy S3 doesn't turn on running Cm10.1

Well I guess since I cant unlock the damn thing ill have a hard time changing that file. My phone doesn't do it but ive had a custom rom on it for so long i dont recall if the phone turned on when i plugged if in prior to rooting it. However, i dont have a custom ROM on the TF300T nor do i see a power setting so i guess id have to edit the file somehow. Seems silly to me since I'd like to keep it shut off to charge faster but as soon as i plug it in on she powers up from being completely off. Annoying.
Yes, mine does.

Yep, same here. This is the only Android device I've had that boots up fully when connecting a charger.

That's an easy hack,
You can also disable the screen on when plugged in via a .jar hack.

Strange, mine did at first. But after bricking, and recovering from the brick, it no longer does. I found that out today when I plugged it in after it died. I still had to turn it on after I returned back to it an hour later.

When I used it, the HDMI port did work and the SD card did as well. The HDMI was a little glitchy though. I had to unplug and replug it a few times before it worked.
