[Q]Sense Rom - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I want you to recommend me sense nand rom with sense version 2.1 without sense version 3.0. I have been serching 1 week and I couldnt find rom like this. There is imilk's rom but it boots only to the black screen with green HTC logo.
Thank you.

Update the thread

imilkas roms worked fine for me. first boot can take a long time but there should be no problem if you flashed the correct partition layout.
glacier sense from imilka was the most fluid and snappy one that i tried so i would recommend you to try some of imilkas roms again. i think he has 3 good versions with sense 2.
the hd2ram, vision sense and glacier sense.

i would first make sure you have done each step right because if its not loading something went wrong somewhere. make sure you partitioned correctly if the ROM your using calls for it.
to answer your question though i would suggest either RAFDROID HD or BLUETOPIA HD both are desire hd base and very good ROMS with working wifi/gps basically everything. The only things i seemed to notice is that with RAFDROID HD you cant share pics within the camera app & you cant have a custom bootanimation. it still is by far the best rom i've used and i think i tried just about them all. BUT asking a few people what ROM is good your bound to get a lot of different answers. check out this website for an easier way to find ROMS listed here on XDA. you can find that website here. just click 'show all android roms/builds", that will bring up ROMS going back to January i think. it will even show some useful info right from that page about each ROM.

Best ROM to install on HD2

Hi
I will be getting an HTC HD2 in a few days and I am planning on loading the Android Froyo OS, and will be using it as my main system.
But looking through all those threads, I am stuck as to where to begin.
I need to find the latest and best NAND ROM for the HD2, since I intend to do all this hopefully just one time.
I would appreciate any guides that would get me rolling in the right direction.
thanks
Personal opinion
Hi,
I have tried many ROM till now, infact mostly all the ROMs. The best for my purpose ( since I am a heavy user ) is HyperDroidGingerbreadV1.2.
Benefits:-
1. Tweeked
2. Super Speed
3. Battery saver
4. Nice UI
5. Very responsive.
PS: Do give it a try.
I suggest you go to the forum and just read. You will find lots of tutorials on how to install and tweak the roms. You will find multiple roms and each has unique features. What I have done, and what I suggest for you, is just tried a bunch of different roms to see what works best for me. Try them all and see what you like the most. Part of the fun of having the HD2 is all the different things you can do with it.

I've tried almost every rom on the board .....so
Heres my top 3... Everything works low battery drain
1. JDMS based on the newest android ginger super fast with lots of options Tmobile ready link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782301
2. MDJ Froyo revolution ... sense build need to put it in apn settings for internet

This question/topic is frowned upon on XDA simply because its asked over and over again and there is no real answer as its subjective.
What is "best" for one person isnt always "best" for another and you may experience problems that another person didnt on his hardware.
There is no point in just asking what is the best one to install, The best thing you can do is to go read some guides etc, research as much info as you can and then try various roms until you find one that you like best or works best for YOU.
Do I need to still have windows on the phone to be able to install Android, or can it be done on its own?
Depends if you're installing a ROM or NAND.
ROMs install on your media card and require WinMo to boot the phone, NANDS replace WinMo.
Note that ROMs and NANDs are located in different sections of the forum.

You can install SD builds or NAND builds. SD builds are just copied to your SD card and you boot them from within Windows, but NAND builds replace Windows. Both types of build are ROMs.
I would prefer the NAND ROMS. I really don't like windows at all.
Can't find the guide to help me do the NAND install.

Nay, dear sir. A ROM refers to software flashed to internal memory, whilst a build refers to software installed on an SD card.
Unfortunately a lot of people ignore or are not aware of this convention, but it's a pretty important one to prevent confusion.

Thanks for the correction, but actually ROM is the chip that the build is flashed onto (in the case of NAND). They're all builds, regardless of location
We could be stuck in an endless debate here, because these terms have different kinds of meanings. ROM is also often used as an abbreviation of ROM image, i.e. a image of the firmware on a read-only memory chip (ROM chip). This means that it would be valid to call NAND firmware ROM, and invalid to call SD firmware ROM since it's not meant for read-only memory.
While strictly speaking it is indeed correct to call NAND firmware a build, there has been made a convention (I suppose this is HD2 specific) to keep them seperated.

Casemandan, did I miss something? I have been browsing the JDMS thread for a few days, but don't see how it is "T-Mobile ready." In particular, I'm looking for MMS that comes in the same quality as the sense T-Mobile ready builds. Read a few tips but quality is still sacrificed upon receiving for all gingerbread ROMs I've tried.

Hello and thanks to all.
According to title of this thread , I need a NAND ROM which has a file manger and support Persian language.
Any suggestion ?
Best regards.
To my opinion is it to wait for a stabe gingerbread or (maybe) Honeycomb NAND rom, isnt it?
Thank mate...
i think best rom for hd2 is cyanogen mod7 v2.6 that is android 2.3.2
I like the MIUI build. It has a few hiccups, but great. Love this than the other builds.

[Q] HD2 HTC Sense

OK, I am extremely confused about getting hold of a NAND ROM for HTC Android 2.1
(or higher) that includes HTC Sense. Is the Desire build the right one for me?
Are there any problems with it?
Where can I get such a ROM?
Is CyanogenMod what I'm looking for?
If so which version do I use?
And Also, where can I get an apropriate radio rom?
Many thanks
Like in the the video bellow
youtube.com/watch?v=vbtwO0VsNy8&feature=related
basically a NAND version is what I am looking for of the one in the video

Radio is in the WinMo6.5 Development forum. The Desire Builds are great. DesireHD builds are good too, just a tad slower. Sense builds tend to be a little more battery hungry than vanilla builds. If you're looking for Sense, CyanogenMod is not for you. All problems with Sense builds are listed at the OP of their respective development threads. Most are 99% working.
The video that you posted is old. We've already moved past that and on to Sense 2.2. Just... read... Seriously. These people put hours and hours and hours into making their builds, and you can't spend a few minutes to read what they write and how to put it on your phone when others have already spend hours experimenting with their phones an writing guides so that the layman can do it? It's insulting to the developers.
2.2 ROM
So what I am looking for is the Desire HD 2.2 ROM?
Do you know where I could find one?
Check this: http://android.hd2roms.com/
Or you could just check out the NAND Development section as we're on XDA were all of them ROM's from that link are probably just copied from here. That's where all the ROM's are lol.
If you can't find it (wouldn't know why you wouldn't be able to but find the Q&A ) here's the link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=928
Here's a list of most of the ROM's available for the HD2.

Which one do you reccomend?
Which one do you reccomend, or do i just get vanilla gingerbread?
I would personally recommend you choose one compatible with your device, Leo 512.

[Q] Help with Cyanogenmod 7 ? Cant find information.

I have a TMO US Leo HD2 Running Cyanogen 7. I found the original mod in the NAND section of XDA site originally. Now, I cant find the forum for it. Did it get removed from the site? I checked out Cyanogenmod.com but it doesnt mention the HD2 being a supported device. I am just looking for some information on an issue Im having with the mod.
Does anyone know whats going on? Is this still a supported rom? Where can I find information i.e. forum, blog etc relating to the Leo HD2 and the Cyanogen rom 7 . Thanks sincerely for anyones help ! !
pleae go to setting>aboutphone and paste everything there.i think that you are using MDj's cm7 nand rom.that thread has closed due to some reason ... try hyperdeoid cm7 ver instead of it
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA Premium App
I have the following.
HTC HD2
Android Version 2.3.2
MDJ's CyanogenMod 7 (v.2.6) A2SD+
Build number GRH78C
the trouble is that the camera and especially the video recorder crashes often. I am just trying to find if there is a work around or update ar something I can do . I lose videos often because when I press "stop" on recording it just kinda freezes and never saves the video. I have the up to date Radio and everything. I am just not sure what causes this. Everything else works great.
I really don't want to have to flash yet another rom. This is like my 6th droid and finally found one that works and is fast on the HD2 and doesn's suck the life out of the processor or battery. I have a 5 month old son though and have a tendency to grab my phone before my regular camera for those funny moments lol.
Any thoughts on this issue ?
Yes that's the problem. MDJ isn't allowed to share his work on these forums anymore because he didn't agree to share his code. So you won't find any updates for that ROM and you are on the latest version. There are many other fast CyanogenMod ROM's out there. Pongster has a good one. You'll find them all in the development section. I think they're usually all the same but coded a little differently etc.
You won't even notice the difference between a new cyanogen ROM and the one you're currently on other than bugs fixed.
I'm afraid you'll have to flash a new ROM.

[Q] HD2 Android Rom without sense UI please?

So I absolutely love my HD2 with android on it. So much better than windows! But sense keeps getting in the way of my apps (mostly Wiimote apps) and it is getting really annoying...Is there a way around that? Or more to the point, does anyone know of a good rom that is android without sense that I can run?
cm7 based builds give you a good performance. you can also try miui builds they are fast too.
HyperDroid.

What problem are you having? (former serial ROM flasher!!!!)
Are you using HD2 Toolkit, makes life a lot simpler for flashing ROMS etc
if you ask 10 people here what rom they like your bound to get 20 different responces. your best bet is to try each rom intill you find a rom you like and stick with it. i have 2 or 3 roms i like best and keep them on my sd so when i feel i need to change i just flash 1 real quick.
if you take a look at this web page there is a list of all the android roms listed here on XDA. its much easier to look through then the pages here & also it tells you if it has sence or not, when it was updated, if its a nand or sd version, when it was added as well as some other useful information. i would check it out and hopefully you can find a rom you like that works for you.
Go try to "TyphooN CyanogenMod 7".
I think you will like it if you don't like sense roms.
Which CM rom is the closest to normal CM7 without any themes or graphical changes? Would it be Tytung's NexusHD2?

[Q] Some ROM Suggestions, please.

Hi,
I had flashed a near stock NAND ROM but was constrained on space. Then tried out an SD ROM, still works well, but found it too slow for comfort
Could anyone please suggest a stable, working, daily use (with everything working) NAND ROM with:
1. HTC Sense
2. A2SD
3. Daemon Controller (preferable).
4. Working camcorder and camera without lags.
Believe me, spent a lot of time searching.
I don't care too much about the themes, the stock HTC are good enough for me.
Thanks,
jiggyk
P.S.: If someone could suggest a stable and fast SD ROM having the above (without #2, of course), that too would do and I would be thankful.

All GB Sense ROMs have camcorder bugs, unfortunately, so I don't think there are any ROMs which don't have this. Unless, of course, Froyo Sense is good enough for you. I've found Froyo Sense to be fast, smooth and stable. I would also recommend trying a CM7 ROM (e.g. Typhoon/Hyperdroid) as these are very fast, and can be themed to look like Sense.

Thank You for your prompt reply.
My preference for HTC sense is primarily because it nicely links my facebook, whatsapp, etc. contacts and shows mobile numbers and email addresses of facebook friends far and near who I did not have in my contacts list hitherto.
However, these ROMS you have suggested, do they have A2SD built in? I am also assuming that the camcorder bugs are in the ROMs with sense. Is that correct??

try pyramid rom by langthang,or the 1st haldric rom,u av no need to worry about glitches fix lol as he's the guy who fixes them lol,but at the min im using rcmicx3d rom

For stable version you can try Nexus One Rom by Tytung. The base is ligther and the rom is smooth but other rom also has its advantage.

as far as im aware, but im using v4.0,not all apps can go to sd though, its the only prob i can't work out.......e.g: when using pyramid rom with a2sd,i downloaded facebook for android, went to settings and moved it to sd card, now the rom im using has a2sd also cos i go to sd-ext folder and all my downloaded apps are there, but facebook is not possible to move via settings, but if no joy i came across a free app in the market called Link2SD AND ALL THE APPS I CAN'T MOVE VIA APPLICATION/SETTINGS I CAN MOVE USING LINK2SD.........so i'm 1 happy guy lol
also,if u wait till tomorrow,he says 4.1 is being released with glitches fix and less bugs, but have a play with this version,if u like it,download v4.1 when released(fri)
if you want sense with everything working and i mean a camcorder at 800x480 rather than 320 then you will be looking at a froyo based rom not a gingerbread rom
personally i have moved from a sense rom to a miui rom and changed to go launcher ex and am more than happy with it, its alot faster than sense
Team Blue Droid have produced an excellent sense 3.5 Rom which looks the business and works far better than many others I have flashed recently on mh EU HD2. I am not that technically minded regarding SD card partition types, but I run mine via SD card after flasing a 1024 partition using CMR and the accompanying DAF.exe.
From reading many threads I understand camcorder is less than perfect on most roms at highest res.

Thanks for your inputs, everyone!
I had the same problem of all apps not going through to the SD, and the remaining memory would not go over 25-30MB at any time, with a near stock Froyo ROM. (Yes, it is a very fast and stable sense ROM). I think I'll take your advice and wait for 4.1 and then see how it goes, will download it over the weekend. Also this Link2SD thing looks interesting!!
The Team Blue ROM looks very impressive indeed, what with the Daemon Controller and all, but, going through the forum, many have had glitches with the wifi, network, etc. I thought I'd wait for this ROM to settle, but now that you say that they aren't making any more.......
