Yep, my screen cracked, after a vigorous jog. My own fault.
Just looking to buy a new screen and replace it, but all I see is the LCDs for sale(ebay, google)
So how much difference is there between these LCD knock offs and the sup amoled?
And has anybody seen any screen disassembly guides?
Ta very much
Why not send it to the service center and have them replace it with a genuine screen instead of getting those knock-offs.
My guess is that the "LCD's" you've found are the real SAMOLED screen. Why not ask the guy who changed his screen here:

Anyone knows where you can buy a new tft screen for XDA I to repair it?
Do you need the lcd or the touch screen, there are 2 seperate components.
the lcd, there is black spot on my screen, so i guess it's the lcd.

Go to www.proporta.com my friend was quoted £70 including fitting for xda2 replacement lcd.
I dropped my phone and the screen is cracked. Touch and display are fine, it looks like just the glass is damaged.
I have tried to find out about repair but everyone I ask is struggling to get hold of the lcd + digitizer for the white gs2.
Anyone have any advice, or where to get hold of a white screen?

the white gs2's screen is the same as the black one

No, the bezel and screen and digitizer comes as one. So you have to specifically buy the white screen for the white gs2.
Anyone have any experience with mobilephonedoctor.co.uk?
They are offering to replace the screen for £129.99 !!

FYI, went to official Samsung service centre (Phoneland High Wycombe) and they charged me £120 for parts and fitting. Also, their fitting maintains your warranty...
get past

I have managed to separate all the glass from the digitizer on mine with a smashed screen...........it is possble to do!!!
Folks
cracked the screen and my question is, what do i need to buy?
looking on ebay and the have Touch Screen Digitizer Glass Lens and then there is the more expensive Screen Assembly.
the screen is unresponsive but the lcd isn't cracked, would i get away with just replacing the touch screen and digitiizer or do i need the screen assembly?
Many thanks for your replies
Paul
Unless you have the skills and tools for separating the glass digitizer from the LCD, you're better off just getting the front assembly that has been pulled from another N4 like this one and fixing your phone in a few minutes (if you already know how to open the N4, which is really easy to do.)
So to sum up, i dropped my lg g2, and i intend to buy a replacement. The thing is, the lcd is fine and only the glass is cracked.
So while looking around for a replacement i saw that some people were offering just the glass and digitizer, no lcd. It appears to be just what i need. however all of the things i have seen indicate the lcd is attached to the glass and digitizer. and costs about £50 more.
So i'm wondering if i do indeed need to buy the lcd+glass and digitizer. or can i save money and get the glass+digitizer only?
thanks
Hello.
My phone fell from my pocket yesterday and it isn't working now. Its glass didn't crack, but I can see that something under it did and I don't know what. (When I turn it on, I can see just some stripes or colour pixels - mostly green ones)
So... Is it possible to repair it? If yes, how much would it cost? Is it better to buy a new phone?
Thanks!
The AMOLED display cracked, meaning you'll have to replace it. Since Samsung bonds the glass to the display, you cannot purchase the AMOLED display by itself, but must purchase it with the glass. You're looking at about 150USD for the privilege.
You can purchase used devices on Swappa for about that amount, so I wouldn't bother repairing the device and would get another phone.
