how do I find my IMEI and does it matter if there's no SIM in the Tab?
cheers for this
go to the phone app and dial *#06#
Shouldn't matter if theres a sim in or not
Nice find for those who have brought the device since 03/12/2010 or looking to buy.
I can't register my IMEI and think it's because I purchased my device prior to the 3rd.
Oh well got quite excited about that.

Mine worked fine, but I had to drop the /01 that was at the end of my IMEI from *#06#.
Had mine since early Nov.

it only says the offer is valid from that date, doesn't matter when you got the Tab
I've tried the my IMEI (16 digits) with some different combinations i.e with / and 01 at the end, but keep getting IMEI not recognised.
Any tips help would be appreciated.
yep, mine fails too? May drop samsung a mail to check my validity.
Those of you that have validated it, did you get it with a data plan/contract?
The IMEI is on the back of the TAB (v small digits at bottom), this number has lots of forward slashes in it - did you include those?
Thanks.
forgot to post the link http://www.samsung.com/uk/galaxytab/
easier if you use the phone combination to get the imei.
also i bought mine sim free unlocked and it worked fine
I have tried with slashes and without.
No luck either way.
Mine was puchased from Curry's sim free.
Registered ok (UK purchased a week ago). Got an email with some codes to redeem things. Not actually tried redeeming anything yet but seems like quite a generous gift from Samsung. Cheers!
Are the gameloft games chooseable? I ask as i had my galaxy tab replaced but still have the imei for it. If they're chooseable that's 15 games from gameloft games;-)

Thanks to the OP, i bought my Tab 2nd hand from Cex about 3 weeks ago and it all went through. CEX do make me laugh though, they sold it as Voda locked and it only had the voda boot screen came completely unlocked! Saved myself £75!
Use the stock browser for downloading games, Dolphin HD had none of it.
I get this
To redeem your 5 Gameloft games, visit the Samsung Games app found on your Galaxy Tab home screen, click on the 'voucher code' at the bottom of the page and enter the supplied code. Then simply pick your favourite games and download onto your Galaxy Tab. Please note that each download requires the same voucher code.
To redeem your 15 latest release movies, visit the Samsung Movies app on your Galaxy Tab home screen, set up a Samsung Movies account and then enter the voucher code supplied. Then simply download your must-have movies onto your Galaxy Tab. Unused credits will remain on your account.
i dont have a games app or a movie app...how do i get them.

I found a website that had links to download the new psn store app and ps pocket for 2.3.4 which i installed couple days ago the north America r800a on my at&t r800at phone. On the website it showed screenshots of the psn network store open on the phone and showed a bunch of ps1 games to purchased and download but at the bottom of each game it said sony entertainment of europe.
Well when i went to log in the psn network store on the phone it ask me 3 qustions at first country, language, and birthday.
Well i put in usa, english, and my birthday and i sign in to my account which i had for long time when i had my ps3 years ago.
Well there is no ps 1 games like i saw in the screenshots on the website, i see is blank, Im assuming maybe cause europe region gets all these games not the usa that i logged in.
Anyone know how i can fix this issue? thanks
Can u please pm me the website

Hi everybody
As we know, the new Nexus 4 will be available on Play Store only in: U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain and Canada.
It also seems almost sure that in all the other countries It will cost much more, for example while in France It will cost 350€ (on Play Store), in Italy It will probably cost 549€!
I'm from Italy, and obviously I don't wanna pay 549€ if I could spend less!
So, how could we get it from abroad?
The main issue is that Play Store only ships in the state where they sell the phone, so I can't directly go on Play Store UK and buy it.
To solve this problem I thought to use a service like forward2me which gives you an UK address to be able to buy the phone, and then they ship the phone to you. The cost is about 32€ for Italy, and 382€ is still a great price for me
There's also USABox, which does the same, but from U.S.
Another problem is that you can't even visit another Play Store if you're not in that state, to solve this we could use Ultrasurf, which is a free proxy-based tool that allow us to vist other Play Store(s).
The last problem is: some people told me that they only accept credit cards that come from that country, so If I would buy It from UK, I'd need a UK credit card. Is this true? And If yes, do you know any possible way to bypass this problem?
Thanks in advance :fingers-crossed:
i want this phone so bad, damn google play store
Maybe try to access in Play Store France with Proxy or VPN. (I don't know really). Search on Google
But, i think Order will be available in others countries later.
You didn't even read my thread, did you?
Yes, you can access differnet country's play store thru VPN. Not sure how to buy though.

Same mistake for me too.
Can you use Google wallet? From my previous experience, even you have a UK card, the diffrent address from the billing address will be a problem(Not play store though, some other B2C site).

...Again?
In order to buy from the UK Play Store you need an UK credit card. Just the shipping address isn't enough. And this is not bypassable, sorry.
I'm Italian too, I hate this damned country! We can't buy from Playstore through proxy because it need you have a credit card in the country you are buying..
1) A supported country credit card is needed
2) a Proxy is not a good idea, as sensitive data is transmitted through it for someone to see
3) The actual product may be delivered to the proxies address

Seems a lot of people are missing the OP's point. He is saying that you need an UK issued credit or debit card.
And to solve this problem for the OP, here in the UK we have what is called a "pre-pay credit card". If you can get someone to get you one in the UK (they sell them at post offices etc) then you should be able to complete the purchase on Google Play UK. But then again if can manage to find someone you are willing to trust £279 you might as well ask them to buy it for you and send it to you in Italy.

I am also in the same situation like you. I live in The Netherlands and no chance to buy it from Google Store.
I am also curious if you can pay it with a credit card from another country. I know some people in Germany where the phone could be delivered and I could pick it up but the main question is about the payment method.
Do you trust services like forward2me? They are reliable? I never heard of them.
I hope somebody could give us more informations and we could get our devices as soon as possible. I can't wait to have it!
My plan:
Use a proxy from the states and hoping that Citibank Credit card, even issued in y country is not a problem, (I can use it to buy from PlayStore when I am connected through a VPN).
Backup Plan:
Shipito offers "Assisted Purchase". I let them buy for me, even it's 17 USD more, and then ship to here.
Plan C:
Order it from Amazon when available
Plan D:
Wait until it available in my country (that's the final plan)
I bought apps from Play Store in The Netherlands using a foreign credit card and it worked without problems. I didn't had to use any proxy or VPN. I am still not sure if it will work with devices. It's really frustrating that Google doesn't extend their play store services.

I think you need to BUY it from amazon or whatever. I don't think It's possible buying it from another countrys Play Store since you probably need a U.S or U.K creditcard depending on where you want to buy it from. My advice is to wait til the price drops or just buy it from another country (not via Play Store). this seems very easily thought of but yeah I think this is the only solution. I myself am currently waiting for the Netherlands release, my predictions are that the phone will be sold unlocked for 350eu if not more. If you really want to buy it from Play Store than I don't really know what you'll have to do but good luck.

Yodobashi Camera does NOT sell the Nexus 6 without a Y!Mobile contract. Believe me, I've tried. Your best bet is to pay cash to someone who has a Japanese credit or debit card, and have them order the phone for you from the Japanese Google store.
If you're like me and decide to go with SoftBank for their English, wifi and military support like I did, you CAN actually get a 4G postpaid contract for your own phone. The staff might say it's impossible since you didn't buy the phone from them. They're either misinformed, or lying. I eventually did get service, but had to go through a convoluted maze, with Sprint's truly amazing customer service ultimately leading the charge and getting the right SoftBank managers lined up to actually help me. (I would have gone with DoCoMo, but they had problems with my MasterCard).
If you're going to be staying here for 2+ years and are bringing your own phone that has a Giteki mark[1] like the international Nexus 6 does, ask SoftBank to give you a "USIMカード(F)" (USIM Card (F)) . I've no idea what the (F) stands for, but the card itself is white and comes in a silver envelope. It also had perforations for nano/micro/standard SIM card sizes. I was set up with the "Sumahoudai" plan described here[2] that has unlimited calling and configurable data allotments.
If you end up getting the same USIM card as I did, you need to use these APN settings[3]. The ones in the first post do not work, nor do the ones on SoftBank's english website. In fact, I couldn't find these settings on any English-language site at all, so here they are.

I can verify that the SoftBank wifi app[4] also works on the Nexus 6. If your Play Store shows it as incompatible, ask a native to grab the APK for you, even if they're on a different carrier.

How to get your N6 working with different carriers:
Docomo (updated the steps from this guide)
First of all, you need a nano sim from NTT Docomo, so go to the shop and buy one. and whilst you are there, ask to turn sp-mode off and mopra U on.
If you already have a nano sim and you dont want to deal with the Docomo drone, do the below to change it yourself.
Go to My Docomo and login
Click "ご契約内容確認・変更" (you can just ctrl+f and paste it there if you cant find it)
Go to the last page (page 3 for me) where the sp-mode and mopra options are available
Click the button next to mopra, then check the agreement box (mopera Uの利用規約・注意事項に同意する)
Leave all the options below the same and the just click next until it is complete
Now we do the same for sp-mode as you no longer need it, should be a bit above the mopra section
Check the agreement box (spモード の注意事項に同意する) and next until it is done.
I havent tested it, but I just updated the guide mentioned above with the new docomo menus.

1. Open Settings > More > Cellular Networks > Access Point Names

w00t!
From December everyone!
So I went to Y! Mobile today to figure out the easiest way to transfer over free m another carrier and get a N6.
Go to your current carrier and ask to switch your current phone number over to another carrier.
Go to Y! Mobile and show it to the drone in the front. They will sit you down and carry you through the process.
Documents to bring:
Passport
Zairyu card (or gaijin card if you still haven't got the new card yet...)
If you want to pay for the phone monthly, you need to have at least 2 years left on your visa. This ****ed everything up for me....
Go back to your old carrier the next day to make sure that you don't habe any outstanding paymemts and enjoy your new phone!
Note that i haven't changed over yet... Just went to make things easier.
This will also be sold on the play store from mid December, so no need to mess around with Y? Mobile.
Yes, but some people dont want to blow JPY 80000 all at once

I will be getting it from play store, but glad the day is getting nearer!
Pricing is a bit different though...

Y! Mobile are taking reservations from today, and the phone will go on sale from the 11th.
Prices are for the 32GB and 64GB models will be 69,600 and 79,200 yen respectively (ex. tax).
So, no cheaper than buying from the Play Store...... which is where I will be getting one, if I decide I just can't wait for a 64bit phone next year.
