Im kinda new to this but i have been reading & trying for a few days before asking for help but i feel i am stuck now.
I have gone through the process & installed a small rom with clockworkmod using a 150mb partition & it went ok.
Now i want to install a larger rom eg. pyramid_HTC_WWE_1.35.401.1_v1.5_EU.zip (338mb) using clockworkmod & this is where i have the problem, i have followed the steps but when installing the rom it freezes just under halfway install.
Using bootloader I have now used Task29 for a clean install, then installed MAGLDR113, using MAGLDR i used option 5 (USB flasher) & installed the unzipped () to make a partition for the larger rom.
After reboot i went to magldr option 8.AD Recovery & loaded clockworkmod, advanced then partition SD card, chose EXT size=1024, swap size=0M then rebooty.
Now am i supposed to see 4 partitionson my SD card because i cant?
one page i read that i should now transfer my ROM.zip to my Sd card, & i also read on another page that i should go to "mounts & storage" & chose "format sd-ext" I have tried both ways!
With the rom.zip on my card, i chose the "install zip from sdcard" option etc, it installs to just under half way then just stays there for ages, how long should this take for a 338mb zip file?
So i giveup, battery out & try it with a smaller zip (hyperdroid-cm7) 69mb zip & it installs ok, so where am i goin wrong??
Q1, after partitioning the SD card am i supposed to see 4 partitions on the card? because i dont, maybe i should partition it on my pc, do i just divide it into 4 partitions & name then ext, ext1, ext2, ext3? or is there a guide for doin it on ur pc?
Q2.can anyone see where else i might be going wrong?
I feel i am just doin the same thing over & over so thanks for any help you can give.
Something strange i have noticed that if i use the HD2 toolkit to try & create a 400mb partition i get an error sayin something about not enough space, i have to use a seperate Recovery_400M.zip that i downloaded from the NFEUMAN pages?
first of all your sd card patition is right. you must have 2 partitions, fat 32 and sd-ext. now in hd2 nand tool kit choose mgldr partition size as 'custom' then cache size 5MB then click repartition in usb flasher mode then write 190 in the opening window not 400. that's all.
I have managed to get the rom to bootup now after waiting for ages, but when booted it says the memory is low so im guessing its not using the SD card, when i look at the SD card i do not see any partitions so the partitioning tool in clockworkmod hasnt worked, is there a better way to partition the SD card for use with the rom?
you can see the partition in your sd by root explorer apk. or you can dowload to your pc mini tool partition magic an you can manage your partitions. windows doesn't see it.
Theres no mention when partitioning your SD card that you wont be able to see the partitions, i think they should mention that in the tutorials.
I downloaded gparted to partition my SD card & when i loaded it i could see that it had in fact worked when i had done it before.
I installed Apps2SD+ to see if it would sort out the low memory problem but the phone wouldnt boot, i waited 20 mins but it just stayed at the strtup screen.
I am doin it over again now with the partition size you suggested so hopefully this will work, should this allow more space for apps with this partition size?
i used the rom you try to use a few days ago. you dont have to install apps2sd etc. the rom just do that. so wipe everything and flash the rom, you will not face any room problem. to free some ram,you can use built in task manager or a task killer.
Hey mutil i have reinstalled the rom & it seems to be working great, but how do i use apps2SD? when i install new apps will they automaticly be installed to the SD card now, or do i have to chose the options somehow? thx.
yes they will go directly to sd-ext. if some applications like angry birds give force close error then get titanium backup from market, find the app that gives errorin titanium, long press on the app then choose 'move to sd'.
mutil thx for that advise. i just wanna ask you, before you installed the rom, what size clockwork mod recovery partition did you use? I used 190 as suggested above, but now reading back through the thread i see you can use a 170mb partition. Is it would be worth me doing it again as a 170mb partition, would i get any benifit do you think?
It doesn't worth to make a new partition. There will not be a great difference. Good luck.

Hi, i am very new here and ilack some of the basic info. so i have couples of questions. thanks very much for your answers.
1. what is the internal memory of the htc hd2? and when you partition your sd to fat32 and ext3, will the internal memory be the sum of the ext3 and the phone internal storage?
2. when you want to flash your hd2 with a new rom. do you need to format both partitions of your sd card (fat32 and ext3)
3. when i tried the latest ultimate droid rom, i saw the author posted the rom and another thing called the layout (3.0.2.4_magldr_150M_partitionLayout_30M_cache). what does this do?
4. how do you make the phone to move or install apps in the ext3. and how do you back up those data and apps in the ext3?
and again, thanks guys for helping me out.
1 internal memory, do you mean what's available after a flash? 260 Meg or so with the small cm7 roms (typhoon for example)
No, the internal memory wont show the sum of internal plus ext BUT it will work as if it is. Say you install a 20meg program, internal mem goes down 20 but back up 20 after a restart.
2 no, when you perform the wipes through cwm it takes care of the ext partition and the .android folder on the fat32 for you.
Some apps may put data on the fat32, in which case you can delete those if you want or if you have isues.
3 the layout (clockworkmod, or cwm) sets up the various partitions on your nand (internal) memory, boot, system, cache, data. Without the layout there would be nowhere for the rom to flash into.
The main point of interest in cwm is the system partition size, big roms need big system partitions, sense roms for ex. need 250meg or more, typhoon needs 130. Flash a big rom to small layout fails, small rom on big layout wasted space.
4 you don't, if the rom says ap2sd enabled or words to that effect, it does it automatically. You can test this by loading up some apps then browsing the SD card on a Linux PC
When you run backups and such, it just does it, the phone has no idea that some of the info is on the SD, it treats it as internal.

i dont understand why is that? so if the rom is apps2sd supported, it will automatically install apps to ext3. then it makes sense to me that the mem goes down, but then why it goes back up???
Example, 250meg internal plus 1gig ext partition.
internal memory shows as 250meg,, install 20 Meg app which goes to ext partition BUT the system displays internal mem as 230, , you reboot the phone and check again and internal memory shows as 250 again.
oh, thanks alot, i get it. but which backup solution is the best? and how does backup using clockworldmod work? does it make a backup file to sd card?

Hi,
It depends what you want to back up.CWM backup will take a snapshot of your entire ROM system, data, settings, everything.A bit like a ghost image of a drive on your PC.
This way, if you install a new ROM and there is a problem,or you don't like it,you can RESTORE your original ROM and everything is back the way it was before.
CWM backup saves to the sd card.
If you just want to backup data, use something like Titanium Backup.
Question:
I've noticed I'm pretty much at my limit for space on my current SD card (like 80MB remaining on a 4GB!)...
I've ordered an 8GB card to replace this one... but how can I "clone" my current 4GB card (with a2sd partitions) and then copy it over to my 8GB card, without losing data, settings, apps, etc? Is there a way?
Thanks in advance.
Do this all from within Clockwork Recovery:
1) Make a nandroid backup
2) Connect the phone to a computer
3) Partitions menu > mount USB storage
4) Copy all contents from the old SD card to a temporary folder on your computer (including the clockworkmod folder which contains the nandroid backup you just took)
5) Unmount and disconnect from computer.
6) Pull battery to shut the phone off, or if you would prefer you can boot the phone and then turn the phone off immediately afterward. Pulling battery just saves time.
7) Put new SD card in
8) Boot into clockwork
9) Format the card with Clockwork w/ ext partition
10) Connect to computer, mount USB storage again, copy all files back to the phone
11) Unmount and disconnect cable from computer
12) Nandroid > advanced restore > Restore sd-ext only
13) Reboot and you're done.
And if something goes wrong, it's not really a big deal since you will still have the original files on the old SD card so you can try again or ask for help to try another method.
Sounds complicated enough to work. I'll try when the card comes and let you all know. Thanks!

Haha yeah, I think it's the easiest way to do it with Windows, since you can't read the ext partition from the computer. You could probably just copy the contents of both partitions through Linux if you're comfortable doing that.
Doesn't a nandroid backup the ext partition too?
If you're using windows you could just backup your fat32 partition on your PC and partition your new card and then copy all your files back and do your nandroid restore.
I think this would work...

Clockwork does not back up my ext partition. It can't mount it or anything. Not sure why. Might be because its ext4, but when I do nandroids the sd-ext backup always fails.
I have to use Ubuntu and mount as storage. Then both of my partitions mount on my computer and I can do as I please. For me this seems easiest anyway. Simple copy and paste and it can be done from a live cd for those that dont already have Ubuntu.

Interesting. I was sure you could format a card with ext partition through Clockwork but apparently you can't. You can do it through ROM Manager though, so I guess you may have to boot into the phone to get to it.
The programs on the ext partition won't show up yet of course. Don't be alarmed. Just partition the card through ROM Manager, then once you're done doing that, do the nadroid advanced restore. If there are any problems after a reboot (i.e., it didn't work correctly), go back and try doing the regular full nandroid restore.

v2.5.0.1
This doesnt create a partition though. It just formats an existing partition. You'll have to use drumist's method of going through Rom manager to actually create the ext3 parition from the phone.

Tried running ROM Manager - of course, it's installed on the 4GB card which isn't on my phone when I have the 8GB in to format. So then I re-installed it using the APK... but I get the exclamation mark when it boots to recovery to format... probably because a2sd is installing the same program on the ext part which it is now trying to format.
I think I'm going to have to format/partition it using Linux somehow instead, no?

someone recommended in another thread that when that happens you just pull out the battery and then use volume down+power to boot back into recovery and it should then work.
But the method I use is to do it from Ubuntu (a linux version). If you dont want to install Ubuntu on your computer you can make a bootable CD or USB drive with Ubuntu on it (directions for this are on the Ubuntu download page) and actually run Ubuntu from the CD/USB without ever installing it on your computer. From there you can use gParted to create paritions. And while I recommend making backups, gparted even allows you to resize and move partitions without deleting anything.

Yeah, that's what I was worried about. My suggestion then is to format the card through linux if you have a SD card reader. Easiest way is to use an Ubuntu LiveCD. Do you know how to do this on your own?
Also, definitely do a full nandroid restore once the SD card is reformatted. Since you booted the phone and tried to install an app, it's possible something got screwed up -- nothing to worry about though because a full nandroid restore should revert everything.

I'm reverting back now, going to sleep on it, and then investigate formatting it via LiveCD tomorrow morning. It's been several years since I've had to go near anything Unix.
By the way, another option is to just do a clean install on your phone with a ROM that has ROM Manager built in. Use that to do the format on the SD card.

That got me thinking...Ive never had a problem adding an ext partition using Rom Manager. Ive done it to 3 SD cards now without a single issue. BUT, Ive also always done it while on cm6/7 which both came with Rom Manager pre-installed with the rom and quite a bit of integration with the rom manager app...just a thought...
EDIT: Scratch that, I used it for 2 SD cards, the 3rd was done with Ubuntu.
Here's my post from the other thread

Rom manager - partition SD card - choose your partitions. It will reboot into recovery and try but fail to partition your card. Pull battery. Replace battery - hold volume down and power. Wait for it to try and find the libde. Img then press volume down and it will highlight recovery then press power. It will boot into recovery and finish partitioning your card.
I think that's how I got it to work.

I did this with two different SD cards on fr008. Both were sandisks. One was a 16 gb class 4 and the other was an 8 gb class 6. I couldn't get gparted to partition the 8 gb for whatever reason. I didn't know what Ubuntu was when I partitioned the 16 gb
It seems like an oversight that maybe of the masses of people with Android devices that one day the general (non-xda) population would want a simple way to transfer their sd card data to a larger card...
I Imagine there are a bunch of people out there clueless.
Hell, I read XDA and there was still no clear simple way in this thread.
(I got here from a Google search for SD CARD CLONE)
Got it to work, finally. Required some back-and-forth with the Nandroid backups, but I have everything running off of my 8GB SD card now, without reinstalling!
Now, to sell off my 4GB card... anyone?
Hi.
After getting my HD2 last week I tentatively but successfully flashed my first ROM, which was the Rafdroid 4.0.2.
I had correct radio.
I installed HSPL 2.08.
I installed MAGLDR 1.13
I got the Rafdroid ZIP file
Prepared SD card with Primary Partition and 1GB ext3 partition.
Downloaded the 400MB CWM partition and flashed to HD2
Then installed the Rafdroid Zip from SD card via CWM.
Everything seemed to go fine and I've been using the Rafdroid for a week. But now I want to try a new ROM, specifically the NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7 ROM.
Now I'am a bit unsure on how best to proceed still being new to the world of NAND. A few things in the Nexus ROM thread confuse me.
Installing CWM_Recovery_for_NexusHD2 (135MB system and 2MB cache)
Does this mean I need to reflash to CWM partiton size 1.3v 150MB? I'm unsure what the 2MB cache means.
Enter ClockworkMod Recovery when you're on MAGLDR 1.13 (hold "Power" button during boot) and select "AD Recovery" or "Boot AD SD" (if ever copied CWM's initrd.gz and zImage to SD).
The first part of this I understand but I don't know what the bold bit is. Do I need to copy these files to my sd card? I didn't do anything like this when I flashed Rafdoid.
Thanks for your time. Hopefully a few pointers can get me on my way
Yes, reflash cwm but with a different partition layout.
(look in cwm folder find flash.cfg, open it in notepad, you will see the numbers to change)
The bit in bold - ignore that, there are two types of cwm, one that installs to the nand, like you have, and one that runs from sd, so ignore the sd bit.
So,
Into magldr,,
usb flashing,,,
flash the new layout with the sizes the rom suggests, (you can tinker with your own sizes as you get used to changing, it's the system size that is important, a few meg bigger than the unzipped size of the system folder in the rom.zip)
When that completes, back into magldr,
Ad recovery (option 8 I think) to boot cwm, and flash the rom.
You can set the system size to what you like, so long as it is bigger than the roms system folder, but anything over is wasted, it doesn't count towards internal storage, so if the rom says 135 and you flash 150 layout, there is 15meg wasted space. (that being said, 150 is a good size to use, since quite a few roms use that or smaller,, sense free roms will mostly all fit in 150 layouts,) meaning you can switch between them without flashing cwm again. Also means you can restore cwm backups from any of them into that layout, so you can set one up, take backup, flash another, take backup, flash a third, then any time restore either of the backups.
Use flash.cfg to change partition.. Btw. I read in NexusHD rom topic you need to flash 135MB system and 2MB cache.
About the second problem:
Just make sure you have zipped rom on your sd card, enter MAGLDR, select AD Recovery and flash zip.
I think the second way is possible if you manually copy those files, never tried it.
Hi Sam and volv.
Many thanks for taking the time to answer my queries!
Should I get rid of the Rafdroid sd card layout and just re format the card to FAT32? I don't think I'll be going back to it.
Another thing about the backup - where are they stored - in the NAND memory or on the sd card for loading back into NAND?
Everything else you've posted has been very clear and super helpful. I'll definitely be a lot more confident at flashing the ROM tomorrow!
Thank you.

Hi,
Before starting anything,BACKUP YOUR STUFF.
Go to ad recovery>backup and restore and make a backup of your current system and data. This is stored on your sd card in clockworkmod/backup.
Next ,flash your new partition.
Then go to ad recovery and wipe data, cache partition, and dalvik(advanced)
Then go back and choose install zip from sd card(having placed your new ROM zip on the root of your sd card using a card reader)
Most roms support using the ext partition, so definitely keep it.
Before you flash, in cwm, do a 'wipe data/factory reset','wipe cache', and then 'advanced - wipe dalvik cache'. This will clear out the data and such from the previous rom, so no need to format it. (there may be some leftover folders from certain apps in the fat32 partition, you can manually delete them as and if necessary, shouldnt cause any problems)
backups get saved to the sd card, in a folder called clockwork, so be sure and back that up if you plan on formatting your sd card.
Hi again.
I just want to say the flash went like clockwork (no pun intended ) The NexusHD ROM has a really nice feel to it. Its my first taste of stock Android and I like it.
I was going to sell the HD2 and keep my old Hero, but I'm not so sure now after trying NEXUS HD ROM.
Hmmn decisions decisions.
Once again thanks for all your help. It definitely filled in the missing blanks.
Ta Ta
you can use every flash.cfg and change the values to the needet. Run the flash tool and after that flash the zip via recovery
Hi Guys,
Back in April 2011 I bought a HTC HD2 phone off eBay and followed the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948 and installed Android. I can't remember the ROM I installed.
Anyway, I now want to upgrade the phone to ICS.
I have gone to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1434860 and downloaded the ROM NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA_V2.4.zip
Under the "Instructions" section, I clicked on mskip's guide which takes you to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830
This says that it assumes that MAGLDR is installed and if not, follow the guide at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948
which is the thread I followed back in April 2011. I therefore assume I have it installed but not sure how to check. I decided to try to install it again, but I can't get WMDC to see it when I connect to my PC but I have downloaded HTCSync which can see it.
How do I get WMDC to see my phone so I can do an install (my PC is Win 7 64 bit) or how can I check it's already ok to go because of my install of the ROM back in April last year?
Also Since my PC is probably not the same as it was 15 months ago when I did the above flashing, I tried to install Radio. The link on that page doesn't seem to work, but I went to the link from my previous attempt ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893948 ) and downloaded that Radio (Radio_Leo_2.15.50.14). I guess I'll need to install this at some point.
As for HardSPL, I somehow ended up at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5279234 but my phone's exactly the same as the screenshot at the bottom of the first post. I then ended up after some searching at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477 and downloaded HardSPL 4. Since I can't sync using WMDC, I ended up successfully installing it by following the note at the bottom of the install instructions which read "You can also install HARDSPL by entering Bootloader mode manually, then running the HSPL4.exe program once you see 'USB' at the bottom of the tri-colour screen."
I think I'm starting to get lost trying to follow all these different threads etc and really would appreciate some help.
All I want to achieve is a nice ICS install that's stable and user friendly.
Thanks in advance.
1- You already have HSPL.
2- To check if you have MAGLDR (when booting up phone, hold "END" button) If a multi-option screen appeared, you have MAGLDR.
3- Next upgrade your radio, do so by booting in the bootloader and update normally (WMDC will not see your device, but you should be good to go as long as "serial" changes to "USB" on your phone.
4- Update/install CWMR.
5- Flash your ROM via option 8. AD recovery.
If you followed the original older guide, then you have all of the prerequisites and have installed the DFT Desire ROM. Just follow the second MSkip guide to flash CWM, repartition your SD card and flash NexusHD2. Just use the correct partition size which should be mentioned in the OP.

I've never actually tried to mount USB Mass Storage outside of running a ROM, I always use an SD card reader so I'm not too sure why it isn't mounting. Have you tried the USB Mass Storage option in the MAGLDR main menu instead? Also, be conscious of how you use your phone whilst in MAGLDR and CWM, as you can't charge the phone via normal methods. It shouldn't be too bad, as I've found battery drain in both to be minimal, but at the same time don't just leave it on for a few hours whilst you wait for a response or a download or something.

Thanks. As soon as I went to USB Mass Storage, Windows installed driver and showed it in the Explorer window. It apparently needs to be formatted first, so whilst I look around and find out what format I should use, I'll put it on the charger as I've had it sitting at the menu option for the past 12 hours or so whilst waiting for a response.

Unless you mean an external battery charger, if you try to charge it it will just boot into magldr. I assume you mean which format type for the SD card right? That would be FAT32, and you can later create an EXT3 partition in CWM

Yep, an external charger.
I had found via a quick search that FAT32 seemed to be the best. Out of curiosity, I've already done point 2 at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830 so when Windows does do the format, I assume it will be the remaining partition that was created (leaving the 1024M partition alone)? If so, do I need to manually set this 1024M partition of EXT3 or would that have been done as part of Step 2.

There is actually a quick way to check. In CWM, go to the wipe data option and wipe data. If the sd-ext is present, it will format it and you will know. If sd-ext is wiped then it will say "no sd-ext detected, skipping format of sd-ext" or something similar.
But when formatting the card using windows, it doesnt really remove the sd-ext partition. Just cleans the Fat32 partition

I went into "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" option and the following came up:
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Formatting /sd-ext...
No app2sd partition found. Skipping format of /sd-ext.
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure....
Error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
Skipping format...
Data wipe complete

So I went back to the USB Mass Storage option to let Windows do the formatting. It only allowed FAT, NTFS or exFAT but no FAT32 option. Selected FAT and it said that Windows was unable to complete the format.
I've gone back to the instructions at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830 and started again at point 1 but still no luck. I hope that re-doing point 2 doesn't mean I've now got 3 partitions.
Since that didn't work I was having a look at the "Mounts and Storage Menu". Should I perhaps select "Format /sd-ext"?
Hi guys
Any further ideas on how to format my partition? Do I need to choose mount /sd-ext or format /sd-ext ?
Thanks
Hi Guys,
Whilst waiting for a reply on my USB issue, I thought I would try a few things.
I ended up getting an SD card reader and plugging the SD card into Windows to see if a format would work that way. It didn't.
I then opened Windows Disk Management system and it said the whole card was unallocated. When I right clicked on it, I was offered to create a "New Simple Volume". Since I'm only using a 1GB card, the maximum disk space in MB offered was 967 which I chose (basically the default).
In the "Format" section of the wizard I formatted it as FAT32 and left allocation unit size as default. I removed the tick from "Quick Format".
Thinking this was the solution to my problem, I put the card back in the phone. I also assumed that I would need to re-do everything at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830
Unfortunately I can only get to point 3.2 where I do a factory reset.
Is it possible that Step 2 where I partition the card is stuffing something up? If so, can I skip this part and just do Steps 1 and 3?
Thanks in advance.

If you followed the original older guide, then you have all of the prerequisites and have installed the DFT Desire ROM. Just follow the second MSkip guide to flash CWM, repartition your SD card and flash NexusHD2. Just use the correct partition size which should be mentioned in the OP.

This is the correct answer, I agree....here is the older guide

OK so you're stuck on point 3.3? I.e. Actually locating the ROM and flashing it? I think what you're doing is copying the ROM over then partitioning. What you should have done is partitioned then copied the ROM over, as partitioning completely wipes the card.
Another possible problem with your method is that you only have a 1GB card, so if you select a 1GB EXT partition then you have no FAT32 partition, and as a result you won't be able to flash the ROM. Try using a 256MB EXT partition instead, and then flashing. Hopefully it will all work fine after that.

How embarrassing is it that I didn't pick up on this. I was blindly following the instructions and set my partition to 1024M when I've only got a 1GB card. Just excuse me for a moment whilst I slap myself up the side of my head.
OK, I'm back. Rather than reduce the size of the EXT partition, I might buy a bigger card anyhow to allow room for photos etc. I will let you know how I go tonight.
Hi Guys
I purchased a 4GB card today and just got home and the install as per the instructions ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830 ) went without a hitch.
Amazing what you can do if you don't try to create a partition bigger than your SD Card. Still can't get over how I missed seeing the obvious.
Thanks to all the posters for your help.
hi all,
so i've been trying this out for two days and no luck also i've searched for it on the forums
so what i've done so far:
-installed 2.08.HSPL
-the 2.15.50.14 radio
-installed MAGLDR
-flashed CMW with a partition with 200 system 5 cache
flashed the rom via zip installation
and it rebootes and just freezes on the green htc logo on the black background for over an hour and i did a task 29 wipe and stated allover again but with no luck... what am i missing here ?
also how do i prepare my sd so i can install data on ex for that rom ? like from the beggingin what should i do?
and have i mentioned im a noob
Are you sure you're doing NAND install? Or NAND with data on EXT? Cause if you're not having EXT partition on SD card - it's not gonna work for sure (explains why you're stuck on loading screen I guess)
"flashed the rom via zip installation" - make sure you're using correct type of install, out of ideas if you're doing it with NAND (ONLY) option.
well i am sure im installing on NAND because i chose it from the AROMA installer..
say i will flash it on NAND with data on EXT for a change , can you direct me to the right steps for partitioning the sd ?
because all the guides i saw here for prepairing the sd were applicable after i install the rom on NAND ...
The easiest way is to backup your sdcard first, because this will wipe it completely. Go into recovery, then advanced and finally choose partition sd card. I suggest choosing 1024MB, and 0 swap. It will take a while, then return your stuff back into the card and try installing the ROM again.
Or, you can use a desktop software to partition it (use google).
thanks for replying ..
so i partitioned my sd and installed the rom on NAND with data on EXT and my phone still stops at the green htc on black logo
what am i missing here ? has this ever occurred before ?
Are you sure you're using wipe option before installing a new rom? (Task29 @ HTC HD2 ToolKit) cause if you're doing it without any wipeout of your phone memory it won't work either, if it's not that, then I'm out of ideas.
However, Ill make a step-step guide, atleast one which I do before flashing new rom.
#1 wipe, Task29
#2 repartition for the system memory etc, I choose 200mb for system (need some space for additional mods xd)
#3 Install MAGLDR
#4 I don't repartition my SD everytime (moving 30gbs out of it is a pain tbh), but find repartitioning of SD card in Recovery, repartition it to EXT4 format
#5 move your rom .zip to sd card after the SD card is partitioned
#6 install the ROM through CWM, should work after that, make sure that you ALREADY have SD CARD PARTITIONED if you're using NAND+DATA on EXT option, cause otherwise it won't work
I always do it this way and it works, correct me if I missed something there cause I'm already doing it without thinking.
Look my signature and mark your bad blocks for once. After that try to flash rom again with bigger system partition.
Sent from my HD2 using xda app-developers app
OK , I've solved the problem .. i flashed cLK and everything went great ..
i guess something's wrong with MAGLDR and my phone .. thanks everyone for replying
