but i notice that i cant stream youtube video even using youtube apps... can somebody help me..

There is a problem with streaming video, and the devs are working on other more important bugs first...
To check the bug list, go here : http://code.google.com/p/photon-android/issues/list

tanx...

Guys, I need your help! First folow this link -> http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube/thread?tid=3ef52f711434ba6d&hl=en , and than, please report here if youtube working with 3g, I have some idea for possibly fix!
I think problem is buffer size defined in initrd or media.profile.xml becouse HQ video frezing (not frezing with flv video) !!!
Code:
I/global (22600): Default buffer size used in BufferedOutputStream constructor. It would be better to be explicit if an 8k buffer is required.

Nothing of this value change speed of video
I experience a constant lag (every 5 minutes) when listening to MP3, do you think change the settings of buffering can help?
Those settigns worked perfectly for my Diamond 2! First time a full .avi worked smoothly! thanks!

I've had this when the built in equaliser is enabled. I solved it by not using the built in equaliser but instead using Audio Booster.
I have no improvements with those settings :S Its the same but it isn't bad.
But if i see the benchmark the video is much smoother than playing it.
Edit: maybe a bit faster after opening a new video

Do you know the REG setting for this so that i dont have to set this over and over again when I flash a new rom?
No REG, settings is located in the config.xml in the Application Data folder...
//Nik
no difference
Hi, I see no difference or at least no discernable one, however I am using stock latest rom, i reencode all video and use wmp as hardware encoding is enabled through wmp api.The way you can play a decent quality with a decent bit rate 500 and above whereas coreplayer will struggle to play anything smoothly above 150.
An example. download any recent 350 lost episode and load and play it in coreplayer, this will be around 620x352 at a bitrate of 60-120 depending on the download. It will play and not too badly but will skip and freeze now and again. Reenode it using Mp4ForHD v2.6 using a higher bit rate and 800x640 res (phone standard res) and it will play perfectly in WMP even though you are using a higher res and bitrate as the hardware encoding is ised. There is no real need for coreplayer as long as you can be bothered re-enocding, if you cannot then you will have to put up skipping video.
coreplayer is greate for music and low res video as it has a lot of codec support however, A good purchase with this in mind.
WOW!!! It works on my Raphael..

For touch HD, just tick "Disable AVC Deblocking" at advanced tab, "soft drop tolerance" to 0.3 sec, and let other settings defaults. Enjoy your hardware-like video player.
P.S: Other settings must be default. I tried with the settings at the first post, just got worse.
512kb of video buffer is pretty enough, and I couldnt understand why no audio buffer and higher video buffer, since I have got even better results wih 256kb video buffer and 64 audio buffer.
Regards.

Thank You so much for this. This setting is perfect! I played with coreplayer settings so many times but this one is by far the best!
Ok I have just found out that if I set the soft drop tolerance to 0.600 I get smoother playback than 0.300

Hi, can someone post the default buffer settings, I have mucked about so much with them I have forgotten what they are. Note however that the soft drop change seems to be produce the best overall results in that you get the longest amout of smooth play in between frame drops and minor freezes. This is going to be different though depending on what we are playing. I wonder when discussing issues like this we should all agree on a movie or TV episode we can all download and then we are all reading from the same book. It should also be noted we are all probably using different roms which also adds another layer of complexity to it. I am currently using GRIDEVO 1.7B based on 28011 os, those that claim to have smooth playback, what rom are you on and what are you watching, ie whats the bit rate, size of file, codec used and image size.

Youtube and video format problem (HELP).

I recorded a movie with hd2 in mpg4 format.
And i wanted to put in on youtube, but there is a problem.
Movie recording in 60fps which makes a problem on YT uploading.
Tried to convert it to other format but most converting software speed up movie (possibly dropping frames as need to be a 25fps)
Any way to change FPS in registry for this format? Or change some option to record in 25FPS but still in mpeg4 format??
only i have hd2 in this forum?
last bump
have mercy
thanx for help
How did you get it to record 60fps?
I don't have that option on mine.
i belive its an auto option without setting switch.
If you check it with some editing software i says 60fps.
Youtube dont let u upload that format.
And thats why im lookin for a registry hack.
Sounds more like you have a corrupt file than an issue with settings as it isn't automatic. Mine is standard and reports between 13 and 29.99 frames a second...
Corruption is not possible, all my videos are recorded in this format

[Q] Video - got conversions right but new problem

So I must admit, from a video playback issue, I've never owned a more frustrating device. That being said, because I love everything else about the XOOM, I've been willing to work to achieve good results. I have achieved great video quality with encoding times similar to what I saw when targeting my iPad, and file sizes that are totally manageable. I have attached the Handbrake profile I'm using. I hope everyone achieves similarly satisfying results. I am using Rockplayer.
OK, on to my new problem. Whenever I adjust the volume and it brings up the volume slider, the video slows though the audio continues, dropping the video out of sync. I have to jump ahead or back to bring the video back into sync. It is similar to the lag in video playback that happens when I first launch the video, but in this case, the playback corrects itself within seconds. Can anyone help with this issue?
I've messed with my XOOM like crazy since getting it, constantly installing and uninstalling applications and files. Could this be an issue?
Thanks in advance for your help!
While using RockPlayer are you using software or hardware decoding? Go to settings, scroll to the bottom and see if hardware decoding mode is checked. If not then check it, but please note you will have to uncheck the box when you want to decode non converted formats like Divx, Xvid, and MKV.
P.S. If all of your video files are properly converted H.264 videos with .mp4 containers you should be able to use use the gallery application to play all your videos, and if you don't like the gallery application for videos you can just use a file manager like astro or IO to select the videos from their folder and play them with the built in video player.
I personally use Total video converter & I have no problems with my video or audio.handbrake just wasn't what I was looking for.total video converter works flawlessly.

Some people have reported similar issues when using HB for various Droid models.
Personally I use the build-in Gallery for video playback, because it makes use of the hardware acceleration.
If you are interested, I have a few samples of 720p and 1080p video files on my website that play perfectly on the Xoom. Links on the site will stream as well.
Yes, I'm using hardware decoding in Rockplayer and I always used Handbrake for my iPad and Epic without issue. When I use the native gallery video player, the problem is worse, as the video starts to lag just from bringing up the playback controls. This is very frustrating. I will try some different converters and see how that goes.
Dvdcatalyst, I will give a few of your videos a try and report back.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
DVD Catalyst works great. I use the stock player and haven't had a single problem.
(Change the video quality to 1750 kbs in the Xoom preset).
i have no problem switching to DVD Catalyst but have one question...does it have the ability to monitor a folder? One thing that is so attractive to me about Handbrake is the ability to use Dropfolders to monitor my DVR folder, automatically convert recordings and dump them into my Dropbox. This makes all my recordings instantly available when I'm on the road.
Thanks

I tried RockPlayer a couple of months ago, and when it was still in beta, but I always come back to the default Gallery. I have never experienced sync or playback issues on the Augen Gentouch, Nookcolor, Droid X and the Xoom, but have heard numerous reports from people for all of these devices (and others) regarding other methods.
For the settings I use in my own software, for all devices it has profiles for) I make sure it plays as it should without the need of installing a different video player. Only for a few older iPaqs and Palm devices do I recommend the install of something else (TCPMP), but for Android, Gallery (or a player like Act1 which acts as a layer around the Gallery player to add new functionality) never gave me playback issues.
Sorry, when I use DVD Catalyst with the XOOM profile, the video comes out a stuttering mess. Here's the info on the files I'm looking to convert...

It looks liek for some reason the framerate of the created file isn't processed correctly.
I noticed you used a SageTV Recording, could you create a small recording and email it to me, or maybe PM me a download link for a small (1-2 minute) clip?

Additional detail
Additional detail regarding my problem - what I've discovered is that the video plays fine but it's only when the controls from Honeycomb are overlaid that the video playback begins to lag. In Rockplayer, bringing up the playback controls don't cause the video to lag, only the volume controls which are native to Honeycomb. Any additional thoughts? I'm thinking about wiping the system and starting from scratch to see if that makes a difference.
Thanks
thanks, I'll have a look at it in the morning. I am working on a small update that includes new Xoom profiles (the settings mentioned on my website) and will take this along in the process as well.

Shocked but I think I figured it out
OK, I'm shocked that I've actually figured out where I was going wrong. The files I was converting and having issues with were recorded using SageTV from a cable box set at 720p. 720p is 60 frames per second and Handbrake was set for FPS to be same as source. When I changed it to 29.97 FPS, I no longer experience issues with video lagging the audio when I adjust the volume or bring up the playback controls. I don't know if this is an important find, but I don't think it's a limitation limited to the XOOM, as I noticed my conversions using the iPad preset are also limited to 29.97 FPS.
I think I can go to sleep now

a temporary soloution for camera record on HD MINI

Hi.
using this program u can solve this problem for now.
of course this is nothing especial but it works (maybe other Apps work too)
after installing it , set these options:
video resolution 480*320 / 640*480 /720*480 /800*480
video encoder = mpeg4
video file format = mpeg4
video bitrate = 1 or 2 mbit
video frames = 30
audio source = microphone
audio encoder = aac(may not supported)1
audio samplerate = 44100
adio bitrate = 62900
I don't test other settings but u can try them.
and also at last excuse me for such an English like this.
NOTE: this program is test on sense 3.5 by derfas.
How did you set the resolution? Not working at my 7.2

as I know CM 7.2 can't record at all, so I think this won't be applicable for its users.
I suggest you to try sense 3.5 , you'll probably be satisfied with this because of its battery , stability & ...
the only eye-cathing problem with it is that GPS doesn't work.
Ok, thanks very much i will try it and reply then
e: only question, if i want to install cm 7.2 then, i must first install windows mobile back? ( i previously had sd-version )

from developers view it is better to do that, and also to wipe and calibrate the battery.
Ok now everything works good ( angry birds too, before they dont work ) Thanks, gps is not problem, i dont need it now. But visually it looks worse than cm7.2

[MOD CAMERA] Recording video with STABLE FPS / STABLE FRAMERATE. Android ICS 4.0.3

Hello everyone ..
First, sorry for my bad English.
Exist the mod for record videos with fps stable and not variable fps?
I have a problem to edit the videos created by my galaxy s2.
After editing, the audio is not synchronized with the video, I think it is a problem of variable frame rate.
I'm searching a solution to force the application of the camera to record video with fps stable.
I have ICS 4.0.3 stock rom I9100XXLPW, I have root, I have recovery.
I have already tried LgCamera and other applications. Without result.
Please do not link to other threads because I can not read and understand full pages in English.
Thank you.
nothing????

You say the problem only becomes apparent after editing. What app / software are you using to edit the video?
Sounds more likely that it is the re-encoding that is de-syncing the audio rather than the video

No, the audio is not synchronized already in the preview of video editing programs. Just when importing the video into video editing program. Not only after creation.
The problem is in the video recording method of the ICS software. (VARIABLE FPS).
I used many video editing programs (even I had thought the problem was the program) .. Pinnacle Studio 15, AVS Video Editor, VirtualDub, Avidemux, VideoDub.. etc. ..
I am sure the problem is the variable framerate, because I tried to register with another phone that registers with stable fps, and do not have these problems.
So..
You know methods to force the application to record in stable fps?
Exist a mod?
These are the info of file (recording with Galaxy s2 ICS 4.0.3 with stock rom samsung LPW):
Frame rate mode : Variable
Frame rate : 29.926 fps
Minimum frame rate : 11.027 fps
Maximum frame rate : 46.320 fps
Standard : NTSC

Camera drivers are locked down. Try recording in optimum conditions and in a lower quality (not resolution) and see if that helps at all. The video/audio codec combination are adapted to a variable framerate so the fact that it's not syncing properly makes me think it's your video editor.

No, the problem is not my video editor.
I am sure of what I say, because before making a thread on xda I did endless research.
I already tried with low quality and even with low resolution.
THE PROBLEM IS VARIABLE FPS.
I read that there are custom rom with mod camera with stable fps.
For example this: [Neutrino system] PFittech ROM GTX AND 4.04 - Neutrino - faster than light - 8.7.2012
Report this characteristics:
Camera Mod
video bit rate increased to 20Mbps - 1080p
stable 30FPS
audio format AAC
So exist a method for mod camera..

That's based on CM9 and AOKP. Flash that ROM and see if your problem will get fixed. I've tried to mod the camera on our device. I've raised the bitrate to over 40Mbps and tried everything to force framerates. It DOESN'T work. Our camera firmware is only going to work with Variable Framerate. Flash CM9 see if it works. If not, then stop asking for it since it doesn't exist.

You can put the info of your file?
I withdraw the information with software Format Factory. --> Format Factory
Home --> Advanced --> Media File Info
What firmware you have? And what software do you use to edit video?
The only Problem what I have is, that my Phone camera not really focus but its ok
I import the file directly into Sony Vegas 11. Done
I have exactly the same problem. The video from GB was also variable FPS so that is not it, I guess.
When playing a recorded vid, fine. When importing into Adobe Premiere Elements 10, I get the video/audio lag....
Anybody please?
I now use MediaCoder on desktop to convert video from phone to fixed frame rate. Adobe can then work properly with the vids.

I use without any problems Sony Vegas 11 and I am happy. There is no any problem with desync, FPS are stable ~29.95 to ~30.10. Both in lgCamera and system camcorder as well. I am on ICS 4.0.3 NeatROM.
There is no any mod for stable, fixed FPS value. There will always be some deviation.
I saw the same issue with other editing programs as well. With GB video's no issues....maybe time to switch to Sony Vegas as this seems to properly support the recorded vids.

I solved this problem by uploading the raw file to YouTube and then downloading it back into Premier Elements 10. It then edits without loss of audio sync. I have not found that any other conversion (including MediaCoder) that will solve the problem but maybe there is a setting for MediaCoder that would work. I found also that Sony Vegas Pro 11 (trial version) does not keep the audio in sync.
I've been searching quite a lot for some solution to get picture and sound synced in Adobe Premiere when I recording with my Note Edge and on the end I found perfect app which records in constant frame rate.
I have tested the app just shortly today and everything was fine after exporting the video from the Premiere.
Here is the link on the google play
Buddy I guess your talking about bs editing software like premerie pro and believe me I know the struggles, I'm sorry to say that your only options are 3rd party software. A software called "handbrake" which allows you to convert your video to a constant frame rate.... another option which is a pretty simple method and possibly even better, is "OBS", simply play the video in vlc player (or whatever player you use to watch movies on your pc) and set up OBS to record screen display or that specific window that your playing the movie it don't matter. Be sure to first edit your settings in obs to save the video in mp4 or avi format, or once again your video editing software won't take it because apparently it's to complicated for these genius that make these video editors to make one that can process any other format or better yet process a video that has variable frame rates.
