onlyankush: I think this is totally unreasonable and lacks any appreciation for the work and progress done to date. The bluetooth issue is already documented on the to do list (low priority), and there are plenty of other bugs to fix.
The porting team are doing things in their own time and not according to your schedule or urgent needs. It is also expressly pointed out that the current builds are not ready for daily use. If you want to use your HD Mini for daily use with full bluetooth connectivity, then you should stay with WM6.5 for now.
But if you still insist on using the current builds knowing they are not quite ready for daily use (including the bluetooth issue), then it would probably be more constructive to give feedback on finding new bugs than demanding quick fixes to existing ones already documented.

Looking to ressurect my old HTC vogue now that it sounds like Android is working well enough for everyday use. Looking for a full out NAND flash that will let me run it nativety leaving WiMo behind. I don't care much about what version of Android is running, just looking for suggestions on a speedy and close to bug free version I can flash to NAND to use everyday.
Camera is the lowest priority for me, first off I care about Batt life / not missing calls or texts, secondly I care about speed, third I would like Data and stereo Bluetooth. Anything extra is not a priority. Please help and thank you.

use the androidinstall.tar that DZO has in the first post of his flashing android to nand thread.

i would recomend one of plemens donut builds
if you want bluetooth then use the build dzo has posted in the flashable linux and android thread. it's based on 1.5 cupcake which supports bluetooth.
Hey all,
Let's get a few ideas for 'everyday' builds that have little to no issues present.
This thread isn't the place to recommend 'nightly', bleeding edge stuff! Or stuff you've only had on your phone for 5 minutes!
There are so many builds out there for testing, and lord know's I'm someone who likes to mess with his HD2, but for people who just want to get on with a build that's as complete as complete can be... we need a list. No doubt time will make this list obsolete before long, but let's do it anyway.
I'm not even sure if there are any builds that can be considered almost 'complete' but I may be surprised.
I haven't switched to NAND yet as I need WinMobile for a couple of things but the way things are going it's only a matter of time. I'm using Darkstone's SuperRAM 1.5 FroYo build which has been a great build for as long as I've been using it (since before Christmas).
It's without doubt the most 'complete' SD/RAM build I've tried but I've experienced the following issues out of the box:
- Robot voice on first call made on boot (on lots of radios, but I'll keep trying)
- Battery life often jumps to ~60mA in standby for seemingly no reason, otherwise it's a good 4-9mA most of the time.
- Some occasional hiccups in data connection, but very rare.
- The camera app is basic/ugly (guess it's stock Froyo) and pics show up twice / are in 4:3 - but to be honest I haven't looked into this issue.
So as an everyday build it's fantastic, but not perfect. I'd recommend it to anyone not wanting to go down the NAND route who wishes to have a reliable, stable and speedy Android build.
So what would YOU recommend from experience for an ALMOST PERFECT / STABLE Android?

From experience, I'd recommend that everyone interested in Android read through all the ROM threads (1st post at least), and then make an informed decision where to start. After that, if they have any issues they should try a different ROM.
Since different people experience different things you can't tell people what will and won't work. They need to try themselves, to find out.
Other than that, each ROM thread has a list of usual suspects "working/not working", so we already have a list of these things.
I hope that my analogy makes sense. In the Linux world, Fedora produces a lot of rapid releases and these release may (and often do) contain unreliable/unstable features that may or may not work properly. This is why these releases go to great pains to say that they are not production ready.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or even CentOS have a much slower release cycle but the features that they roll out are very solidly tested and ready for production environments.
I watch Android.HD2ROMS.com for information about HD2 Android ROMs and it seems like every ROM produces a new version every other day. Often, these builds are rolling out every new kernel update, .CONF patch, etc. without much testing as to their ramifications.
Many of these ROMs are causing problems like "robot voice", random reboots, lock-ups when using Bluetooth, etc. Some of these issues (right now I'm fighting the issue where the person on the far end can't hear me if I've ever used the voice-to-text functionality) are a sever hindrance in my usability of the device simply as a phone.
I consider my phone a production device and while I don't want to go back to WinMo, I may have to just to have so I have a reliable phone device.
Are there any HD2 ROMs that take the RHEL approach and produce fewer builds but have more solid/reliable builds as a result?
While I _LOATHE_ the MIUI interface, they seem to take this (slow and stable) approach and I may just install MIUI and run LauncherPro or ADW on it instead of their stock Launcher.
I don't think I'm in the minority with this feeling about reliability. Hopefully some folks have some good feedback on ROMs.
Pongster's Hyperdroid GBX v12: Stable , Extremely Fast , almost bug-free, its been almost 2 months without an update it could never need 1 , its perfect as it is.

Wow,
1. Wrong section.
2. If you have been looking on that site you would see that there is plenty roms that are stable and haven't been updated for a while. The site is by default sorting roms per date they have been updated. So those you're talking about are probably roms still in DEVELOPMENT, hense the title for this section. They are being constantly developed with fixes and bugtesting.
3. HYPERDROIDGBX.
Why write a book about witch book to read? Just try them out, I'm sure there is some that will suit your needs.

I find rom flashing sufficiently annoying that I don't do it often. In fact I've only done it once (over a year ago) with Paranoid Android. But the advances are starting to look significant and I'm contemplating my next rom. I looked casually at the bug list for CM10.2 and it seems that most bugs are minor glitches or things with easy work arounds, and that this base is stable enough to use as a daily driver. If anyone would like to confirm or deny that conjecture I would like to hear your opinion on that.
Assuming one is willing to take the CM10.2 leap, the ROM listing thread shows 7 based on CM10.2:
BeanStalk, crDroid, DARKNESS, Illusion, Krueger, rom-xperia, SGT7, and SuperNexus 3.0
I'm not naive enough to ask which one is best, but to those of you who have compared these seriously, could you offer some comparisons based on some of the important characteristics. Perhaps
- best stability
- best battery life
- best UI smoothness
- largest feature set
- smallest footprint (i.e. reduced bloat)
- best built-in apps
- best built-in kernel
- most popular
- best support
Or if you don't think these are the most important characteristics, feel free to suggest more relevant ones.
I have read large portions of the thread discussing each of these roms, but I still find it difficult to decide which one I would like most..
I'm sure many readers of this forum will be as interested in your responses as I am since at this point there is little of this kind of information out there in a reasonably accessible way.
Thanks in advance for any contributions you can make to this thread.

Unfortunately this type of thread isn't allowed... Even though it looks like you put a lot of thought into it...

Hey all, just wondering if anyone's tried out the Lineage 17.1 beta releases for the S7. Any thoughts on performance? Are our poor old S7s finally starting to show their age? Anyone know of modders with plans to port Note 9/S9(+) OneUI 2.0 to our phones?
As to the use of Lineage 17.1, I see no performance issues in any way. The ROM itself is quite crude with the bare essentials working but all in all with more work it will be a very nice ROM.
It's a shame that their isnt more ROM development for this phone but I completely understand why someone would want to move onto something bigger and better.
The hardware in our phones will continue to be able to run Android into the Major build release or two and quite possiblt even further I'm absolutely confident.
I'm new to the ROM development scene and have been trying to find soneone that will help me get building roms. I've built Lineage 14 for the S7 with issues concerning hardware. I am really itching to get into it to continue to bring Android ROMS to this phone if at all possible until I loose it or break it.

The 17.1 rom sometimes shows stuttering but not due to lack of power. This phone is still a powerhouse, but the ROM has bad interactive governor default settings.
Latest los17.1 is fast and clean. Highly recommended.
I think the only remaining bugs are an initial lag when answering calls with BT. And maybe notification lights. The dev is very generous with his time and effort and gets things sorted if users report bugs concisely with logcats, etc.
Security is kept up to date and selinux has just been brought up to enforcing
It's daily driver for many including me.

Daily driver for me too. Ivan_Meler is truly a devoted, humble and skilled developer. We are blessed to have him working with our (for tech standards) ancient device. He is working every day polishing his Note FE-based Exynos 8890 kernel and adding modern things like Energy Aware Scheduling. Later builds could even be able to use schedutil-based governors as the default governor which means extremely smooth and efficient devices when configured correctly. I remember previous builds having unusable phone calls but it's sorted out. They work reliably now.
The ROM still has some not so minor bugs, like reduced Bluetooth range, microphone not working on VoIP and some noise cancellation issues related to proprietary Samsung blobs but otherwise it's a solid piece of ROM. Rock stable and essential functions like camera (torture), WiFi and radio work all without problems. Once I get some cash I'll be more than happy to buy him a cold beer.
I currently have Lineage Os 17 installed on my s7 exynos, the problem I have is when I record video on camera it doesn't record audio. Anyone who knows how to fix and can help me? Thanks.

I've just tried video recording on the stock los17.1 camera and working fine for me buddy.
Maybe check permissions for the camera?

I use BT all the time listening to podcasts. I don't seem to have range issues. What baseband you on (mine is: 0FXXU2ERD6). Using any battery saver stuff? Can you test with another BT device? What range do to currently have, line of sight with no obstacles?
Have you recently opened the s7 and may have dislodged BT antennae?
