[Q]Android market search function not working ? - Xperia Play General

Hi
Recently, I have been experiencing a strange problem with Android Market.
The search function does not show all games and apps.
When I select the android market in the game menu (it searches for xperia play optimised games) it shows that the search has found 231 apps, but when I scroll down I can see only 15 or less. When I scroll back it says that nothing was found.
Same goes for manual searching.
The market tries to load more but then it stops. I have once got "connection lost" error.
I tried reinstalling it and deleting cache but it doesn't work.
The search function on the android market website finds all games and the search on my xperia finds only 15 or even less. That's the problem.

[Q] Relaunching the "once off" Market app in HyperDroidGBXv7

Hi, when launching Android Market on HyperDroidGBXv7 for the first time, it comes up with a "once off" menu to install some predefined apps based on category.
I screwed that up by accedently pressing the OK button, and want to get it back so that I can choose some of the predefined categories.
Is it possible? Don't wanna reset the phone to get to it again...
Many thanks,
dim00z
The apps you select at the first screen are all google apps. Use MarketEnabler if you can't find them on the market.
These apps include, Youtube, Facebook, Gmail, Google Maps, Voice Search, Google search, and apps like talkback/kickback. No real need for the screen, it only helps to download the google apps that you like at once.
OK, thanks for that. I thought it would download the top rated free apps for that category - would have been nice

[Q] Missing apps in Market

I have the Google IO Galaxy Tab. I've downloaded a number of apps from the Android Market that are not showing up in the Android Market place. I can see the apps when I click on the Apps button in the upper right part of the home screen and they all run just fine, but they don't show up as downloaded apps in Market. The apps also show up on market.android.com as well.
I was hoping that the Honeycomb update would fix the problem, but it did not. I've also tried clearing the cache and data from the Market app, but it did not fix the problem either. Anyone else experience this problem?
Saw this response in the support section of market.android.com listed under Known Issues:
Applications missing from "My Apps"
We're aware of reports from some users that several applications are missing under "My Apps" on their devices, and we're currently looking into the issue.

[Q] Apps on Google Play not recognizing NOOK Simple Touch

Hi,
I got this problem accessing certain apps on Google Play, maybe you guys can point me in the right direction.
I just rooted my Nook Simple Touch with TouchNooter 2.1.31 file 31 Jan 2012 per "h*t*t*p://nookdevsDOTcom/Nook_Simple_Touch/Rooting#How_To_Do_It", and also got the Search Market installed and working, but I can't seem to find and install the free Aldiko Reader. because Google Play recognizes my device as a "phone", and it's deem "This app is compatible with some of your devices."
What is happening? and is there a way to fix this?
I remember during the installation I had not followed the step of enable "Use Google Location"..Bad me. ... Did that triggered what happened?
Thanks for any help.
Lawrence
Google Play doesn't have a version of the Aldiko Reader that will work the old version of Android our NT devices use. Download a compatible version directly from Aldiko.
Google Play calling your device "phone" and the wrong Use Google Location selection isn't a problem. Its only the old version of Android we have. If you can't find something on Google Play, try goodereader.com. I find they often have older versions that work on our NT's.

Android Device Manager not working

I just upgraded to the S4 triband. I was trying to activate the android device manager but when I go to the android device manager web page it does not locate my phone. The options such as "rename this device" and "locate device" are grayed out as well as the settings button in the top right corner.
It does show my phone (Galaxy S4) as I renamed it in the play store settings and "show in menu's" box is checked but on the device manager web page it only shows that the phone was "last online 7/9/14" (today's date).
I have tried factory resetting my phone, making sure that all of the GPS and location options in the phone are on and that "remotely locate this device" and "allow remote lock and erase are also checked in the google setting app.
Additionally I have also done a lot of google searches regarding this issue and followed several tutorials to clear data in the google play services, google play store and google services framework but all to no avail, I still cannot locate my phone or do anything on the android device manager web page.
Attached is a screen shot of what the web page looks like. Funny thing is I tried my old S3 and the Wife S3 and both gave me the same results.
Anyone else have this problem or have a fix for it?

Default app and notification settings being ignored

Color OS v.6
Been wrestling with some really infuriating problems with this phone since i bought it 4 months ago.
Default apps are ignored when clicking links via Chrome or Google search - if I select Waze as open by default for maps, and select DO NOT OPEN for Google maps, it will always open Google maps when I click a map or directions. If I select do not open for YouTube and either always open or always ask for newpipe or YouTube vanced, it will always open YouTube links in YouTube. It just completely ignores the settings
Opening via Firefox will work sort of, but for some reason FF have added a little 'open in app' button step so you have to load the web page for YouTube then select the android button for it to bring up the select app dialog, so it's rubbish and frankly a deal breaker. Also this doesn't work for directions, neither Maps or Waze are options for directions, bizarrely.
Another thing thats frustrating is that it forgets notification settings. If I set a notification as unimportant, like a battery usage alert or WhatsApp web is open, it will appear again an hour later.
Does anyone else get these issues? You could argue the first one is a chrome/google issue, but i have never had this problem on other androids. My OnePlus works fine for example
If anyone has a solution to these, I would be grateful for hear it. At the moment I am done with Color OS weirdness and considering a custom rom (if one exists)
Edit: Actually I can't get it to open any app via chrome. Everything opens in chrome. Tried resetting everything but it won't work.
