Hey guys,
Does anyone know how to revert back to the old stock CWM recoveries so I'm able to flash my old backup of the stock rom? Every time I try to flash it through rom manager it keeps giving me 'an error while flashing your recovery'. Is it an issue with the phone? It is very frustrating. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You don't need a previous version of CWM to do that. Version 3.0.2.4 can handle the backing up and restoring of both Froyo and Gingerbread ROMs, as well as both Ext3 and Ext4 file systems.

So I made the mistake of updating CWM to 3.0.0.8 and now I can't load ROM. I've had to go back to completely stock and had a hard time getting root. I tried to revert back to old CWM in Rom Manager but it says Encountered error trying to download. How else can I either get back to old CWM or install another EB01 ROM?
ROM install scripts need to be updated to edify. Newest cwm doesnt support the older scripts.

You're now stock w/ root? All in one EB01 .tar file to be flashed through Odin should do all of the things you need. It's in the dev section somewhere.
Trying it now. I'll update shortly. Thanks

you can push a custom rom with adb
or
flash stock firmware with odin
or
use this method to fix md5 mismatch http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7004365&postcount=1
you can access adb when you boot in custom recovery
will it work if i flash some other rom like not the stock rom? after that will i be able to restore my backup which had the stock rom and everything working?
and yes i have a custom rom setup on the memory card already.

Hmm that's weird, have you tried re flashing your recovery maybe something is broken there? have you tried other roms? If using TWRP try to update it or change to CWM or vice versa
Yea I updated to 2.6.3.4 which as of my knowledge is the latest
Sorry for my noobness :/ it is really bugging me as I think it has something to do with having cyanogen installed before but then again after pursuing the flash tool and restoring back to stock I can't think what is wrong

Double Flash seemed to fix it
I flashed the ROM after returning to stock again and before flashing it wiped all partitions and it still stuck on boot so i went straight back into recovery and flash again this time without wiping anything as i was only writing over the StockMOD install and it seems to work
So the solution for me seemed to me to flash it twice wiping before the first and after it fails to boot just flash it again without wiping.
I now have it up and running and I'm very happy with it
Thanks for those who tried to help me much appreciated
I want my stock recovery back, I don't like CWM and so far Google searches only turn up how to install custom recovery, So in simple words how do I restore the stock recovery. Still new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Flash a stock rom and it will overwrite the custom recovery too, remove the rooting etc.

Hi all,
I have ran into a few problems whilst flashing the stable Cyanogenmod 10.2.1-jfltetmo and im hoping someone can help me.
Problems:
1) I have no touch screen with CM
2) I am currently using CWM v6.0.4.7(no touch) and it is not letting me mount my internal SD for me to add another zip to flash and test if that works
3) The backups that i did prior to flashing are throwing an 'MD5 mismatch' at me, therefore i can't restore back to stock.
Could anyone help me with ANY of the above issues for me to have a functioning phone again :crying:

Why are you trying to flash highly outdated software with a highly outdated recovery?
You try to flash CM 10.2.1 which is years old and is not updated. Same applies for CWM. Do not use those.
If you want CM then here it is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-cm12-1-galaxy-s4-ve-gt-i9515-t3172140
Flash only using TWRP recovery.

Thank you very much for your help!
I flashed the TWRP recovery with Odin, then mounted the SD card and flashed the ROM in that thread and everything is working great!
Again thank you. I will close the thread now.
