[Q] Wireless Tether stopping Calls/SMS - Epic 4G General

I tested last night a few phone calls and text messages sent to my phone via my girlfriends phone. Whats strange is I hear a dialtone for a good 4 to 5 times, followed by my voicemail box. However on my phone is shows no sign of any call whatsoever, and the same applies to text messages sent.
I notice that this only happens if I'm doing any downloading on the tether, normal internet usage seems fine. Is this normal, or is there a setting I can change to fix this?
I am using the "Wireless Tether" (Green Wifi Logo) app, and rooted.

Incoming calls lost after some time when using data connection (3G/HSDPA)

Hi all,
I've got my HD 2 for a week now and everything seems to be working fine, except for a very important bit: the phone.
When I'm connected to the network with a data connection, incoming calls are not possible after some time. The caller just gets a busy signal or my voicemail. This also happens when I haven't been actively using the connection for some time. Calling is also impossible most of the times this occurs, very annoying! Anyone else got this problem? It only happens when a data connection is present, under phone only use there is no issue.
When you say "data connection" do you mean Bluetooth, USB, or HSDPA/3G etc?
I haven't noticed this myself while connected to HSDPA...must check it out.

True
I have same problem.
Sometimes the call completely lost and sometimes the message "cannot dial for ...." pops up.
I think it could be connected to network itself ...

University wifi stops text messages

I'm having a problem. My university wifi often requires me to use a browser before I can actually use the internet. The problem is that my email and text messages rely on the internet.
Is there any way to shut down wifi after some minutes if there is no internet connection? I really like my battery life when wifi is on, as opposed to always having 3g on.
Why would text messages rely on Wifi? (assuming you are using SMS through provider). You can turn 3G off and then use the notification power controls to turn wifi off quickly.

Well when wifi is on it shuts off 3g and android uses data connection to get emails and MMS. Regular text dont use the data connection I guess. I have noticed I cannot recieve MMS when im on wifi as well. Any wifi

Not sure about that option, but you sure can shut down Wifi, when the phone goes into stand by.
Settings >> Wireless & Network >> Wifi Settings >> Click on Menu & select Advanced >> Wifi Sleep Policy. Select when Screen turns off.
I would also mention, any type of wifi setup that requires you to login via the browser will not be a good option. As soon as the phone puts wifi to sleep, you logout, so when it wakes up, wifi might be connected, but that doesn't mean you get past the login page. Luckily at my university, there is a special wifi for faculty/staff that doesn't have that page like it does for students/guests.
I use Google voice for everything so my text messages rely on the internet. Disconecting wifi during sleep would solve my problem, but now I'm relying Solely on wifi since I switched to the Samsung tab data only plan, which oddly enough doesn't work on android phones.

[Q] DDTM setting won't stick. Calls not coming through while streaming

Here's my issue. Calls won't come through when an app on my phone is using the 3g data connection. I've figured out its the DDTM setting under "Call Settings" in the settings menu. When its turned on, the calls get sent to voice mail. The problem is that each time I uncheck the box, it gets turned back on by any app that uses data. There's not a problem when I'm connected to wifi or when I'm on 4g. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
I'm using the stock EHO6 Gingerbread leak, rooted with the EH06 AIO Mod installed.
Update:
The problem seems to have fixed itself with a reboot. Not sure what was going on, but the ddtm setting is now working properly.

WiFi Issue:disconnection(airdroid,web whatsapp)

Hello
Rom: xXx No limits 9.1
Kernel: blu spark r77
Encrypted device
Wifi is set to be always on.
The problem is, applications like web whatsapp, airdroid stop working when I am using wifi and the phone locks.
The WiFi does not disconnect because my phone still get notifications online. And when the phone gets a notification, web whatsapp starts to work again until stops.
It is like the phone is connect, but it disconnect those app until they get a notification.
I tried to turn off doze to these apps but it did not help. I changed kernel too and it keeps the same behavior.
But if I use mobile data(4g) everything works, web whatsapp does not disconnect.
Can I have some help to fix this issue? It is really annoying, and I found another person with this problem

Losing cellular connection (No text/calls received)

Several times a day, my phone goes into "silently lost connection" state. When it's in this state, the WiFi internet works fine, mobile internet works, phone still shows good signal bar. Basically, you have no way of knowing something is wrong with your phone, everything is as it should be.
However, in this state, I don't receive any TEXTS or CALLS. If someone calls, it goes straight to my voicemail. If someone sends a text, it goes on my "texts to receive" backlog or something.
The only fix is, go on airplane mode on/off. Then I get the connection back, texts in the backlog starts coming in, calls are received, etc.
My phone is SM-G935F (Android: 7.0, Baseband: G935FXXU2DRB6). I'm on T-Mobile network. I've tried a connection booster app that re-connects to mobile internet network or something, but that's not the problem because I can access the internet at all times, so that didn't work.
Does any know what's going on? Any idea for a solution? Maybe an app that turns airplane mode off and on every 10 minutes or something?
