[Q] Xperia Not Detecting USB - XPERIA X10 General

Woke up this morning, my Xperia X10 doesn't charge, doesn't connect to the computer... nothing. It plain and simple doesn't detect the the micro USB plug being inserted at all. Any ideas at all?

I got the blues, those xperia blues.
Sorry mate, I couldn't resist.
On a serious note, it won't be your phone, just your pc. You need to reinstall the drivers.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling SEUS and pc companion, it should sort your xperia blues out!

Lol. I'm 99% drivers have nothing to do with it as the xperia doesn't charge with the standalone charger either. the phone doesn't detect anything being plugged into it's USB port no matter what I connect it to.

If it doesnt charge that sounds like a broken usb port.
Have you tried changing the cable you are using, it might be that, if not its a new usb port on your phone i'm afraid

Haha, welcome to the club man

Are you on a custom ROM? I have USB and charging issues on custom roms sometimes.
If it isn't charging even from the wall charger, then I propose you make a xRecovery backup, then put the device in Flash mode, and flash a stock SE firmware with the Flashtool.
That should nip the issue.

can be hardware faulty...try using other charger or usb...
got my friend also have the same problem and send warranty...

Restored my first backup (2.1 stock) using xrecovery and still a no go. Took apart the xperia and didn't see anything too obvious wrong with the USB port. I'm assuming it's going to be something finer on the PCB. What's sony like if I were to send this in?

Is it just really laggy when you try to navigate through the phone? If so, it's normal. To me, this happend when the 'SD' is mounted to my Mac

I think what he meant by that is that sometimes when a laptop is not connected to a charger, it will put out less power to components like the screen, USB, etc.
In your situation, your laptop is plugged in though
Can you explain exactly what is happening when you plug your phone into your laptop? Haywire can mean many things.
the touchscreen is not responsive I can be swypeing through homscreens and it just clicks whatever it wants.

That doesn't sound like it is underpowered. If it was underpowered, I think it would just not charge at full capacity or maybe at all.
What type of laptop is it? I just tried it on my Thinkpad T510 and I am not seeing any issues that you described.

Oh I dont believe it's my device because I got a new one and the same problem occurs
I don't really understand the issue you're having, but not all USB ports are built the same. On the Mac, certain ports are shared with other bus, others are direct powered and provide more voltage.
On many PC laptops the rear USB is better than the front/side ones. Have you tried using a different port?
Also, do you have USB debugging enabled (/settings/applications) and/or USB storage mounted? I'd play with those to see if you have a different experience based on those settings.
Personally, no problems at all with the phone when plugged into my MacBook Pro.
I don't have USB debugging on but will try later thanks, also when I unplug my laptop from the charger my phone acts fine.

Yes, problem is not on cables, as the same ones, can charge other phones. I bet i't the micro usb port on phone is loose or something, because when i press a bit harder the phone starts up, but there's no battery so stay awake... I hope this falls under warranty man...
Test pull-out the baterie wait 15 seg and put it.
Test charging on another X5.
It happened something similar to my first Huawei U8800. It only switched on when I remove my battery and plug the AC charger. I went to the store and they exchanged it..
Seems like i've got the same problem. My X5 doesn't charge since last night. Did you find the solution for your phone?
PROBLEM SOLVED. The 2 chargers i tried was both broken

[Q] Charging but not showing & PC does not recognize phone

I am sorry if this already exists.
When I installed CM10 Nightly 02-Oct I noticed that when charging (both wall charger and USB cable) the phone does not show that is charges.. but it does.. and normally, 2-3 hours is full.
Also, there is no way to get the PC to find phone. When I connect it via USB cable it does not do anything.. only quietly charging.
Download mode and ODIN.. I tried... nothing.
Is there a problem with the port? But then how come and it charges?
So so weird!!
Thank you in advance

Thank you for the reply.
I tried everything.
Different laptop.
Different cable.
Different charger.
USB drivers(Google drivers and reinstalled samsung drivers and tried KIES)
The phone does not react when I plug in the charger or cable. Only quietly charges.
Even in Odin and Download mode it is not recognised(even the sound that a PC makes when you put something in USB is not there). What is wrong?
At least thank God it is charging.

Its possible one of pins could be damaged in the Micro USB, externally or internally , try cleaning like here or this

[Q] Nexus 4 Charging Slowly

Hi all,
I have a Nexus 4 phone for 6 months, and I love it. But yesterday i got something very very annoying. I almost cant charge my phone. I plug my N4 at wall, with original cable and charger, but after something like 30 seconds, it says I have usb connection, and doesnt charge. The temperature is ok, i already tried factory reset, but nothing works. I see that it doesnt charge even if device is shut down. I tried other cables, but the problem persists. I can connect it via USB, and I can access and modify files, but it slow charge, or even discharges.
I am afraid its a cell phone problem, because where I live, I dont have RMA service.
Thank you very much!

In chronological sequence, I posted three images of what happens. It says battery health is good.
If it's not cable fault maybe it's from the wall charger.
Can you try with other wall charger? i.e Samsung, LG, Asus...
If you've installed a custom kernel you could try to enable the FastCharge hack.

Charges , but not recognized by computers

Hello! I'm nto sure if Im at the right forum rright now.
However, my Sony Xperia X Comapct (stock) has messed up;
It charges, however, when I put the cable in, it takes abut 5 seconds before my phone "recognizes" the charger.
When I connect it to a computer, it only charges. No USB-options or so ever. What could be wrong?
hi
do you have the original usb c cable or a third party one. you can always do a factory reset...

Maybe you can get some answers if you post in correct forum, not into Development...?
You can try reflash the firmware to see if helps, otherwise I would suspect hardware problem...
