I cannot setup contact sync with gmail account. Also, social features (link to facebook/twitter/adding friends for LendMe) seems to be disabled not after the root.
Any suggestions?
Either that or finding stock image (not the kernel source) - because I would rather use Nook social features/lending than showing off youtube on the eInk display...

Earlier today I decided to try out an alternative version of Email.apk, so I backed up the original version of that file, installed the newer version...which proceeded to FC...and then rebooted and restored the original version. Now I can't seem to access information on my corporate Exchange server which was my only account in Email (I also have a Gmail account, but I use the Gmail app for that).
I've tried clearing settings for Email, Calendar (and storage), Contacts (and storage), and Google Services Framework, deleting and recreating the account repeatedly, rebooting after each attempt, etc., but still no luck. Basically it lets me add the account after successfully connecting to the Exchange server, but then it doesn't download email and it doesn't see any calendars or contacts. I know the problem isn't with the Exchange server because all of my other clients (Outlook, OWA, iPhone, etc.) still work fine.
It seems as if there's some kind of cruft floating around from before that's not quite enough to allow Email to work properly, but enough to keep it from properly recreating the account. Is there a particular app database I need to clear/flush in order to recreate this account?
Thanks much for any help!!!
A little research led me to this issue with Android 2.3.3 that seems to be similar if not the same:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=15356
Looks like it's been fixed in 2.3.4. Assuming that the patch in the middle of that thread is the actual fix, it doesn't look like it should be that hard to integrate into CM7, though I've never done a build of Android/CM7 so I don't know enough to comment. Any thoughts?
All,
Happy rooted Nook user here! However two critical function don't seem to work and I have not found the solution in another thread.
Anybody knows:
- how to sync or get google contacts into gmail / k9 mail? Settings => Social => Manage contacts crashes
- how to get the picture gallery to work? On the road I would love to take pictures with my canon camera (SD card) and post them via the Nook and the facebook app. However I haven't managed to get any pictures in the gallery yet!
Thanks for the support!
Alright,
I'm using this device now and getting familiar. One of few things that bother me is No CM10 browser. I tried sideloading it but it kept FC on me. Minor.
Back to my main question, I notice photos have the option to Sync with Google Photos. The thing is I didn't even activate my Google+ (Not a fan of social media). But I'm considering to just activate it because the 16gigs will just get eaten up.
1) Do I really have to activate Google+ to get access to the Sync Photos in Gallery?
2) Are there means of accessing the synced photos without making activating/making Google+ profile?
First Nexus device, I've always used CM based ROMS. But its like Google really forces itself in using as many of the google apps as possible.
just activate google+ account.
as long as you don't post anything, your profile is empty. there is no privacy concern.

I am unable to get my Google Calendars to sync with the N10. I've done an extensive search - see similar issues, but with different devices, and, solutions do not solve my issue. I am aware of the reverse-sync "confusion, clearing the cache / data, the native calendar distinction, etc", and that is not what I am referring to. I cannot sync from my desktop to the N10. Calendars don't even appear in the setup, for me to even be able to check them for syncing. I am set for syncing in Google, and am able to sync between PCs, but, . . .
Would appreciate help - Siberian Tiger, chrisd1a1, Divine_Madcat, Moscow Desire, zacthespack - I rely on my calendars, and would love to have this utility on the N10.
And, will the solution be applicable to KitKat as well?
Thanx much -
I had Google Calendar Sync installed - apparently it was unnecessary, and was competing with Google's dashboard sync. A fluke that I read a post online on Android, indicating that Google Sync was no longer viable. Went and installed, and, voila -
I've bought a Z170-Lite from GeekBuying with the Global ROM. I'm deeply distrustful of Google and certainly won't store my contacts and calendar on their servers so I have my own CalDAV server.
Using OpenTasks I can connect to the server and it finds the address book and calendar however it is unable to sync them to the device: they do not appear in the contacts or calendar apps.
The debug output shows it has permissions to read and write.
I had disabled all of the Google Apps I can except GSF but even after a factory reset I can't sync. WhatsApp is also showing a sync failure.
I installed LineageOS and had no problems so it's not the configuration. I'd rather use Nubai UI however as it has a built-in back-up app that doesn't require the device to be rooted (a show-stopper for banking apps).
Does anyone know what the issue might be or how I can track down the issue?
I'm using NX591J_ENCommon_V1.04
