My 9100 Display Crashed! :(

Any1 know where i can buy a new display? I just picked up the phone and the display was crashed

you mean smashed? like cracked? google it. i remember there being a site that sells parts, also i know www.pocketpctechs.com repairs pdas.

yeah cracked, and i can put money on that they going to say that i have smashed it but i haven't so i can't use the guaranty have got over 6 pda phones and none of them have cracked

if you can convince your warranty dudes that it was a mistake they'll fix it for you. i remember a while ago when the nokia 3650 first came out, i got it and got into a fight, the screen broke. to fix it was like $175 i went to my warranty place and told them it was just in my pocket and i pulled it out and it was broken and made it seem like i didn't do it and blamed it on cheap manufacturing and they repaired it for free

If your familiar with doing repairs, i wouldn't say its a hard job. Also i think you overlooked that link, its $159 and they willl replace the screen for you. you send it to them and they will fix it and send it back to you for $159

i don't think so because all warranties are very strict about getting your device repaired at an authorized repair store. but if u send your device to your warranty place and pay for the repairs then yes, your warranty will still be valid. but if u get it done at a place thats not autorized then your warrany will be void(cancelled)

yeah... if im gonna send it to a warranty place here in sweden only the screen costs 368$ + the work, atleast 100$ more

The lcd screen is NOT broken ! you need a new case, cheapest way is to buy qtek dummy 9100- they sometimes apear on ebay! :!:

yes it is, thats the touch screen part of the screen. i'd say go ahead and send it to pocketpctechs.com its $159. if not then find a local cell phone repair shop.

feel sorry for you dude, but the title is a bit harsh,hehe, and the pics are quite huge,lolz, i agree, the lcd may not be broken, but the touch screen is the one that's messed up badly

Yes, the touch screen bit can be replaced separately, though I wouldn't want to be the techie doing it. Also pray that no fragments got on the LCD sheet behind it and scratched it up.
Regardless, unless it's inside warranty, expect to be out of at least $50 for serviceable hours alone, add parts, double their price... $150 sounds about right - add shipping.
Still a long shy away from the $500-$600 for an entirely new one, of course.

Best is from the US. You can get it from amazon at $699 for the unlocked silver and gunmetal gray. I got my dev ed via ebay.

no problems so far, rooted but still on stock rom

Got mine from Kimstore. Sealed naman, but may scratch doon sa embossed image below the camera. No biggie, might be a manufacturing issue, still love mine. Where can I get a dot case?! Hehe
Read somewhere that the Dot case has some issue when trying to close it. It won't stay shut. Can anybody confirm this? Thanks guys and Mabuhay!

I can! It doesnt stay shut flat on the screen. Its like a couple of mm lift above the screen

latest price as per Kimstore's FB page P29800 for Grey and Silver po. Dunno about battery life yet since naghahunting pa din ako ng ok na pagbibilhan pero for sure it varies din from user to user.

I got mine when it was 29990. It seems that Dbgadgets and Kimstore are quite competitive with each other's pricing. As for the battery life, heavy user ako ng NBA Game Time, uTorrent and the Video app. Gives me about 7-8 hrs per charge.

But let's begin talking about it... Too big, too small?
I think 3 inches might be the prime size for a smartwatch, certainly some would prolly say 3 inches too big, but obviously in a full fledged android wrist watch, 2 inches is too small for me not that I've messed with one that size yet but it seems and sounds pretty crammed up together and cramped, I've played around with a few 3 and 4 inch android phones and when ya put it in landscape it's easy to navigate everything.
I think this will certainly be the phablet of smartwatches, and when phablets very first came out everybody said no that's too big nobody will want that and now ya see more phablets in peoples hands than you see standard sized screens/phones typically and they keep raising the bar on the size.
It'll be great when they start making these with a smaller more slimmed down base and a somewhat flexible display, so far the problem with a lot of smartwatches is they high tower up off your wrist making it almost clunky and a lil out of place.
So what do you think?

I think the Pine may have some stiff competition.

Why? The pine is a wrist phone, the rufus a smartwatch.

Anybody pre-order theirs yet I'm thinking about doing it next month or so.

Not yet, I'd say wait till september when they start shipping the project kickstarter cuff's maybe by then a real user will give a full in-depth review...
The most in-depth review so far is the video title in this thread "The Rufus Cuff and Super Smart Watches". that's the best one I can find so far.

That is useful. I wonder if that size smartwatch would make more sense as a watch phone?

There's so many hybrid words/phrases ya could call it the possibilities are almost limitless. I like Twatch more it sounds more techy than Phatch to me, then the spelling of Twatch instantly makes me think of something coming out of the terminator movies. :laugh:.

I've got the Rufus Cuffs. The ROM sucked. slow. and apparently there was a new rom for it.
I tried to flash it and now I see smudges and stripes.
The only rom I could flash from now on is the Ticwris MAX V1
I couldnt even flash the 1.9 version

It's just a branded dm100 so if you are interested in it you will save a lot of money by buying it on aliexpress as a dm100 / lemfo lem t / ticwris max

Unfortunately, I had bought the Rufus Cuff at the time. I use it every day (my only phone), but the back of the case does not hold. The plastic is too thin, it breaks on the bracelet holders.
Reception is poor, if you only use 2G it is better.

Leider hatte ich mir damals die Rufus Cuff gekauft. Ich verwende sie täglich (mein einziges Handy), aber die Gehäuserückseite hält nicht. Der Kunststoff ist zu dünn, es bricht an den Armbandhalterungen.
Der Empfang ist schlecht, wenn man nur 2G verwendet ist er besser.

Will the ZX get enough developer support?

being on xda for quiet some years and having enjoyed several superb custom roms (mainly for my htc devices) i wonder:
will the ZX get a sufficent base of users and developers with new roms even in 2 years time?
as my current device is the Galaxy Note Edge, the "prototype phone" for samsungs edge displays, i know the pain of loosing support from developers (and the manufacturer).
my next phone needs to be "custom rom" friendly with an outlook of longtime support

I think it might take a while for developers to build custom ROMs for our XZs. I received mine a week ago (forest blue) and very happy with my purchase so far. Battery is fantastic and does better then other phones with bigger mAh but I am still on stock ROM N.
