Volume down button getting flimsy - Eee Pad Transformer General

Seems the button wont work unless you apply some pressure. It got worst and worst. It still works, just not as easy as volume up. Should I RMA it? Should I unroot before I do? Still have access and it works fine. Just the damn button sucks.

funny you mention this.
i noticed by volume up is a little "looser". its got some wiggle to it which concerns me will wear out after some usage.

Faulty volume button.

Has anybody have the same problem I have with the DHD volume button? My device has the bottom part of the button jutting out a little bit, and I am worried it might fall off. I have only had this phone for 2 and a half weeks, so before considering an exchange, has anybody had the problem and fixed it? I would hate to take the button off and not be able to put it back on properly.
Can you take pic and upload it?

I had the same problem. I sent mine back to Phones4u after about a week.
Whether it would have fallen off or not, I don't know - but as mine was like that after a week or so I didn't want to take any chances.

Here are the pictures, hope they're good enough quality.
Mine's the same, it's going back when vodafone get more stock.
I also noticed the top of the screen clicks and creaks as if its loose.
Mine is the openmarket version and vodafone only have the branded handsets in stock anyone know the difference?
Just return it.
Hi all,
I've my phone about a month now and I have almost the same problem with the volume button.
Actually it isnt that bad as the pictures above but you can definetally feel that the vol-down button sticks a litle bit out while the vol-up is very hard to press.
(The powerbutton is also hard to press but that seems to be with everyones phone)
It seems HTC is very bad in making hardware buttons, I had also button problems with my Touch HD and my HD2!
What do you recommend me? Should I return it or not?
Ps for htc maybe:
The main reason why htc makes hard to press (power) buttons is to avoid acitentally turning the device on/off while its in your pocket or wathever.
I have a solution, make good easy to press CAPACTIVE (power) HARDWARE buttons.
I think that should solve a lot of problems
The bottom bit of the volume button comes out a bit too on mine but not that far!

From the pictures, i had the exact same problem. On day one, i was so happy to have the phone i looked passed it ( it was the very slightest bit sticking out ), then eventually a week later it really started coming loose, when you press volume up for example the bottom of the button would literally pop out and dangle.
In the end i arranged for a replacement the next day as i was illegible as i only had, had the phone for a week. What struck me is the elastics holding the volume rocker in place? thats the last thing i'd expect something made out of "metal" to be locking it in place.
Hi all,
i have the same problem. the volume rocker is not sticking to much out but you can definitely feel the difference between the upper and the lower side of the button. the upper side is like pushed in and kind of hard to press and you don't fell the "click" when you push the vol up. the lower side i slightly sticking out but you can fell the "click" when you push the vol down.
how do yours fell when pushing vol up?
i don't know if i should replace the device or not???
here are some pics of my problem
thanks

I returned mine and I think you should too.
Works perfectly now, but not sure if it can last 20 months as my old one broke so early. Taking the greatest of care whilst touching the volume rocker now. Kinda sad that a device so expensive has quite a few cosmetic flaws.
Exact same issue with mine i dabbed some super glue ont he plastic and the metal. Its alot better now. Seen new buttons on ebay, has anyone tried these yet? How do you install them?

In the picture you attached, the volume key lok in the correct place. However, the Aluminum or battery cover is not in the correct shape. I can see some distortion.

[Q] Non-Functional Reset Button Worth Returning?

As noted in another thread, I recently exchanged an A500 with bad Wi-Fi for one that works and, so far, it's much better. There is one thing I tested that failed and that's the reset button (yes, I found a screwdriver that was narrow enough to fit into the tiny hole).
When I push the screwdriver in I can feel it touch the button, the spring compress, and the button bottom out. However, nothing happens. I'm assuming it should simply immediately reboot but it doesn't. No matter if I hold the button down, push again and again, etc. Nothing.
So, is this a reason to return it again or should I just ignore it? The power button should always turn the device off by holding it down until it powers off, right? That should really be enough, no?
Just wondering. Thanks!
Return it, you paid for a full working unit. And tell them is your second unit and so be more careful sending you another tablet.
400 bucks is 400 bucks. money doesn't grow on trees.

I would send back, can you feel the little click..?Sometimes just hard to hit.
I can feel a click but nothing happens. I don't want to push too hard though, if it's already broken, I guess it doesn't matter if I do!

Loose volume rocker

I have my S4 for about a week and today I noticed that volume buttons are a little bit loose. It was weird for me, because a lot of reviews says that there aren't any loose buttons unlike in the S3. So i had bad luck or You have loose buttons too? When i shake it in one specific direction (something like a fan) i can hear a little rattle sound from volume buttons. Should i go to warranty service?
They are a little loose. Now when I try really hard I can hear a small rattle sound too. But it's pretty minor.
Mine's not loose but the volume up gets stuck, have to press it a few times to unstuck it, but fortunately doesn't get stuck that often.

Rear buttons "squishy"

Hey guys.
I'm super happy with my G2, and coming up on 4 months with it. However, I have a problem.
The power button and volume down, overnight and out of nowhere, got really squishy and weird.
There's no distinct "click" anymore, but they do work. It feels like I'm pressing a button with a pile of rubber under it.
The volume up button works perfectly normally, which adds even more to how odd the other buttons feel.
So, how do I fix this? Can I replace only the buttons, and if so, how hard is it?
Also, is anyone else experiencing this issue? Once again, the buttons do work perfectly, they just aren't behaving as they normally do.

Power/Volume Buttons

How are your power and volume buttons in regards to them being loose or not? Mine are just a little loose. Nothing too major but I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me just s little.

My power button is fine, the volume was very loose and rattly. This along with the non-flush panel on the back and some cosmetic damage on the frame led me to exchange it. Just waiting for my replacement now.
My power button is fine. The volume button is loose on mine though.
Bothers me too, but the rest of the phone is fine so I'm not going to RMA unless I find something really wrong about it.
Mine do not rattle, but the power button requires little force to be depressed. I have accidentally turned off the screen multiple times. My volume buttons are fine though.
The power button on my 6P is very smooth. No "click" when pressing, just..smooth if you will. The volume rocker makes a distinct click pressing either up or down & takes slightly more pressure to click. And I mean slightly!
No complaints here. That's the way it's supposed to be!
Volume button are fine. Power button..eh... smooth? They seem mushy to me. All buttons should have at least SOME feedback. I'm not even sure I hit it most of the time.
