Hi guys I'm looking through the roms and All I see is roms for only >55 .. Which roms Could I flash on my X10A with a baseband of 55 ?
Why don't you just upgrade your bb when theres no rom for your current one? Its far way easier to do than flash a whole new rom...

I have uk sgs2 with xxkg2 and chainfire root with the yellow triangle on bootup...question is as follows:
There is a ROM thread kh3 in the general section and also lots of roms in the development sections referencing kh3 etc...what's what...which one do I use...is kh3 firmware or rom?
Do I have to use odin or cwm to flash the new rom/firmware?
Finally whats the difference between the two development forums and which ROMs the most popular in your opinion?
Thanks and sorry for noob type questions!

They're basically different ROMs based on the KH3 firmware
How you flash it depends on the ROM itself.

firmware=/=rom=/=os=/=android all the same thing in this case
kh3 is the newest leaked rom, there will be odin flashable files available from the thread, and there's a cf-root kh3 kernel available

First of all, welcome to SG2! Hope you enjoying it.
1. All depends on your preference. Some say KG1 is good, some say KH3, etc etc. All depends on your preference. Just try and see which is your preference.
2. Odin is need to use computer and cwm recovery is by turning off phone first, then home button, volume up and power button all at same time.
3. Original is where dev who created them using new ways (in easy words). Most of them are less-samsung-ness. So if you install them, example CM7 (cynogen mod) or MIUI roms, you will not have samsung apps inside but you can install them if you are interested.
Hope this helps a little.
Thanks guys...Let me see if I've got this right...
1) I need to install the ROM first and then flash a kernel from chainfire..correct?
2) Also, I'm interested in MIUI, Villian, Cognition and Modaco ROMs...don't know much about them just seems a lot of people are using them/have interest in by looking at number of pages for each thread...any views please?
3) Sorry, lastly the KH3 rom in the general section is I guess original Samsung unmodified ROM??

What ROM ??? you have a ROM installed already its your original firmware .
For root flash kernel from Chainfires thread you will also get CWM .

Your choice Cognition and Villain probably easier to start with .

KH3 rom in the general section would be the same as the rom in the stock roms post in Dev section .
One ROOT and install Clockwork Mod recovery .
Two decide on custom rom and follow its install instructions .
Nothing to stop you flashing a stock KH3 rom before above steps .

Thanks jje...I don't have any custom roms installed...just stock leaked kg2...phone is already rooted and with CWM recovery..
How does Modaco rate as I have kitchen account (previously owned zte blade!)?

Basically, the ROM is Gingerbread. There are many updates which are very tiny tweaks. Look at Samfirmware.com
Rom developers use these latest ROM's because of the unsatiable appetite of those who want the latest (not a proper update) slightly changed update with dev tweaks

In other words, we have an OCD when it comes to version numbers and not having the latest firmware installs. Just ends up feeling like there is something we are missing out on and could benefit from whatever it is in the update.

Hi, everyone!
I'm using samsung galaxy s i9000(international version)
I'm new in this forum. i would like to flash custom rom cuz the original one runs so slow. i would like some suggestion from you guys for which room i should flash, and how to flash it.

Look in the dev section for custom roms. The 2 popular ones to start with would probably be Darky or Docs. There's install instructions inside of those threads...

Docs Rom is not longer "Docs Rom", not it's called Rom kitchen, haven't tried the latest versions, but last time I used was very stable and reliable.
You can also try Ramad's deodexed stock roms.
You will need Odin, cf-root if you haven't rooted, and the files for the custom rom you want, most custom roms are flashed through CWM, which you get once you are rooted.

What Modem would be best for UK Vodafone?
Why couldn't you just read one of the other threads regarding this instead of creating YET ANOTHER one?

Maybe there should be a sticky post with a title "The best Rom to use is.." that states, the best one is such and such a rom, or stock plus specific kernel would work and then finally state, the best is to try yourself and see which ones work for you and to stop posting these questions. maybe this should be for all and every phone out there as i am sure people WILL always ask this questions and it varies from person to person. just wondering?
Hello I've been using CM7 on my defy for ages now it's stable and good well im kinda bored from it now and I've been looking for a new ROM and I got confused since I'm not that good when it comes to flash n stuff anyway I just want some one to suggest a good stable ROM and easy to install motoblur or not doesn't matter as long as it fast and thanks in advance.

"Best ROM" threads are prohibited on XDA and this thread is in the same general category. Your best bet is to read ROM descriptions and then other user's experiences running those ROMs, and of course the best way to decide is to try for yourself. Thread closed.
