Is there anyway to make this fast? or any defragmenting software so that i can defrag it and make it fast? thx
Yes! Turn off permanent save!
It improve performance by a 10x factor!

it means that it make it faster by a factor of 10 as in 10 times faster
of cause i doubt very much that defrag does that because it's not machanical like a harddisk
then the only "seek" delay is cas and ras which are pretty low compared to seek time on magnetic and optical disks
pocket mechanics can defrag a SD card but i would not do it because i doubt very much that it would help much and with sd cards limited writings before it dies defrag could dec the life time
Overclock
You could try overclocking your device. Before I give you the link to this application though, first some warning:
Overclocking the device involves sending more power, as in battery power, to the processor. Doing this obviously generates more heat in the processor and therefore processor life will be reduced, sometimes dramatically.
Battery life is also a consideration. I experience half battery life when I overclock my device to 530MHz, above the normal 400MHz.
The application also gives you the ability to under-clock your device, making it slower but giving extremely extended batery life (I wouldn't recommend anything under 300MHz unless you are just receiving calls).
Here's the link to the app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=10400&highlight=scalar
Ask if you have any questions about this as the detrimental effects are real.
The number one cause of the XDA2 (MDA2, Qtek2020, etc) to slow down are the dreaded Notifications bug and the 32 process limit, plus even tho we have plenty of RAM, if you get lots of stuff on your internal RAM and manage to go as low as 30 or 20 megabytes free both on storage and program, the system WILL start to degrade drastically!
The notification bug can be fixed with Pocket Mechanic (comercial package) or Check Notifications (www.ScaryBearSoftware.com FREE).
And the 32 process limit can be avoided by going to your Windows/Startup folder and delete some unnecesary (at least for me) applications. Just make sure you don't delete STK.lnk, Poutlook.lnk, MMReg.lnk, ChgDfLnk.lnk (could vary by model, mine is an MDA2).
The last solution is to buy an SD Memroy Card to store files and install software. The more free internal memory you have the better.
Regards!

Can you tell us what these lnks are used for. I've got a PDA2k with most of these except mmreg.
Thanks

I've tried Scalar. It is really oasome  Tried the 3rd CPU speed (300), it did save battery life by almost 25% yet the p.mance is much slower, whereas 5th speed (472) is a jetspeed!!
mmreg for mms,
stk for sim tool kit
poutlook for pocket outlook...
but to tell you the truth, I deleted everytrhing coz i dont use them
Also check this out...
http://scarybearsoftware.com/ppc_cn_overview.html
To be specific, poutlook is used when you have set your Inbox to wake up your device every x minutes to connect and download email from your POP or IMAP server.
If you don't use that functionality, you can safely delete poutlook
Has anyone noticed any long term disadvantages to overclocking the Wizard? Does the battery life permanently decrease? What speeds are you running yours at, and how long have you been doing it? Have you noticed anything at all which indicates it's not good for the hardware?
Cheers
reply
i believe that it's safe to overclock the mda...just set it at an acceptable rate (264mhz for me) and make sure not to run the battery all the way down...if you overclock the settings too high the device will freeze and reset (this is a fail safe procedure it goes through), so there is no need to worry...also don't overclock the settings too low as the phone becomes disfunctional when too low (about less than 132mhz for me)...the screen flickers because it's not being refreshed quick enough (my guess)...hope this helps...
I would set it to 240. I have done before, i'm just wondering if it's a bad idea leaving it permanently set to that level?
Cheers
yea you should be fine at that speed, but if you want you can overclock it higher if it will let you...just make sure that the phone is stable when using it...like i said in my earlier post my device is oc at 264mhz
Cool, thanks for your replies. How long have you had yours overclocked for? Do you use Smartskey?
Cheers
My self i ownly use it when need the extra speed, only with some games and wmv video files. I think it definitely lowers battery life and i would have worries about overclocking all the time and the long term effect it has on the processor (not so important if you only keep your wizard for a year and then change with a new contract - what i do new device once a year!) I found good speed gains with the registry wizard - http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=39725
have not found overclocking produces that much extra speed.

Mine is also set at 264 24/7. Battery still lasts me all day. Been doing it since the oc program was found which I guess has been a couple of months.
Don't forget, you're wizard is only overclocked when it is active (i.e. not in standby mode). When your wizard goes into standby, it automatically goes back to the default 180mhz. Only when you bring it out of standby does it overclock again (assuming you're running it with smartskey with the option of overclocking on wakeup)
i'm using smartkey to constantly run at 264mhz...i have been doing this for a month now...like i said there is not really any problems with the batt unless you run it down totally...there was a post about this in the overclocking thread...the process is set low so that the phone will have a longer batt life...this was also stated in the overclocking thread...theoretically there is more wear if you overclock it since you are making the processor work harder, so use it at your own risk! if you want to be on the safe side then use smartkey and the overclocking prog in the same directory...then use total commander's note pad (while the ini file is highlighted) and change the value lower when you don't want it to constantly run at 264mhz or whatever speed you want to overclock or underclock at...just use it when needed, but i overclock mine constant 264mhz with great results combined with tweaks2k2, registry wizard, and of course the tmobile custom rom ...internet is a blast...just wish i could get it to run like the IE in a pc
anyways hope this helps out a bit further...
activesync
your activesync will hang allot if you overclock, I have noticed this.
DOnt know why.
For some reason i stumbled onto something, im sure its been mentioned b4 but when running Wisbar advance with a Windows vista skin done by xcillion, i am able to overclock my cingular 8125 to 288mhz at a stable rate with no problems at all, can run warcraft 2 full speed with over 50 units battling it out on screen, almost doubles browsing speed and i can run all the emulators including SNES at full speed with sound. when i dont have wisbar advance running i cant go past 240mhz clocking speed. I wonder has anyone else noticed this or gone higher than 288 without a freeze. Also, my battery life runs steady for a full day of browsing the internet talking on mobile messanger and listening to music at half volume for a full day.

hey sonic, where did you get your copy of warcraft 2 for windows mobile ?
I've never heard of warcraft for Windows mobile, how does it run on a 240 MHz overclock?
I got it from the Wargus engine. i can email you the files if need be, i dont want to jeprodize this sites reputation. The game last time i checked was free though...
Actually I'm not sure if it's the overclocking issue or not but ...
For couple of weeks now my Wizard's red led is on all the time, not like it is when your battery is very low but about half of this brightness. I'm not really worried about that, it doesn't change much but it may be connected with overclocking (it was 240 for about a month).
Another thing - once I had sth like 110% speed of every tone played, either a phone call or an incoming message.
It doesn't really matter to me since it's still working fine but it may mean that overclocking isn't that safe as we might think.

Hello all,
Following XDA for years, but wasn't posting that much. My apologize for that, trying to give my contributions now
So, to start, hereunder, a sum up of my recent tests over last German ICS rom, Stock XXLRG.
======================
This is the second version of this post, taking in account various comments so far.
Firtsly, this is aimed to share my feelings about my own experience. Hope this could help anyone in anything. Nothing more
Accordingly to Roy_W, I provide which I will call my "test phase" description at the end of post, as simple infos for you to better make your opinion according to your own use. It is not about precise calculations & results, but about comparing the same things.
Hope this helps.
======================
Tests
1. Stock LRG + Stock Kernel, No root
2. Stock LRG + Stock Kernel + Root + remove some samsung apps.
3. Stock LRG + Speedmod 3-7 + remove some samsung apps
4. Stock LRG + CF-Root LRG + remove some samsung apps.
Impressions
1. In my opinion, do not use this setup. Rom feels very laggy, many little freeze here and there but the must annoying is the battery drain and heat while wifi download.
I think this is due to screen ON + heavy download (1GB+, games like Max Payne or Nova)
Pen is not well reponsive also.
Note : Except in test 3, there should be no difference with pen responsiveness between 1,2 and 3. but that was the case to me. Dunno why ^^
2. Starting to feel better, due to the removal of some Samsung apps (Rooting should not have this kind of effect .
Complete list of removed applications at the end of this post.
The phone is more responsive, lesser lags, but other things from test 1 (battery drain, pen responsiveness) remains the same.
3. Very good setup.
Lags are mostly gone, and Pen responsiveness is far better.
Don't know if Speedmod have done some special work for that, or is just due to his overall tweaks. I think it is also related to Samsung S-Suite updates. (look at test 4)
Good battery, feels like it could be better but mostly due to Samsung Roms than kernel. With normal use (sms, few calls, internet, XDA app , new review, some always active sync like Weather, Gmail, Talk, ...), you can easily achieve 2 days (48h) before running out of juice.
Also lesser memory consumption in idle (maybe related to samsung apps that were removed)
But, bluetooth was not working and since it is a must have for me, I needed to go to test 4.
4. Currently in test. Don't have my bluetooth headset with me, so this test will be updated tonight or tomorrow for feedback about battery, bluetooth and other.
So far, overall responsiveness of the phone is ok, but not as good as with Speedmod.
Maybe a placebo ( ), but I always felt that Chainfire's kernel is behaving a little better than stock one even if the only difference is root rights.
Also lesser memory consumption in idle (maybe related to samsung apps that were removed)
Samsung Removed Apps
Always doing this since my GS. It always make the system smoother to me. Can't tell about battery save.
- All Hubs (Reader, Music, ...)
- All apps related to hubs. (Zinio, Press reader, kobo...are examples of ones eating too much storage space).
- the big one : Samsung social Hub (2 apks)
- All stock live wallpaper (storage space eater)
I did not removed the Kies apps, since there were never launched, do not bother me and was having some weird warnings about missing apks while trying.
I advised to keep All Share (which is functionnal and useful for cross hardware connection) and Samsung Apps (but deactivate sync from app settings)
Go also for setting, and deactivate Wifi sync for system updates (About Phone -> System updates).
I did not test NOTECore kernel which has good feedback (3.1 version) because of the bluetooth not working.
Test Phase
Mostly due to my work, I have quitely the same daily use.
- Kernel were flashed the morning, at full charge, with cache/dalvik cache wipe.
- Only 3G, no Wifi/GPS/Blutooth. Auto Brightness, no added/removed apps (except for tests cases above).
- Betterbattery stats, stock battery monitor and Go power master for battery monitoring
- Facebook sync off (for battery save)
- Gmail sync on
- Google+ sync & Instant Upload off (for battery save)
- Weather sync every 4 hours
- Samsung apps sync off (for battery save)
- 1h call
- Gtalk & Whatsapp always connected
- No Flash installed (feels like I should mention this)
- No kills or memory clean
- Fixed wallpaper (for battery save) & lesser lags for screens transitions and opened drawer using NOVA.
What I take into account while making my opinion about battery :
- screen on time versus battery lost for the same period of time. Having used different 720p androphones, I have my own appreciation of that.
For 2000mah full charged batteries in my use with full stock, 2-3h screen on time is really bad, 3-5h should be considered as a good average, 6h+ is a dream.
GNote has a 2500 maH battery, so I have my expectation and maybe that's why I feel bad battery bahaviour when it won't hurt you at all.
- if apps were differently used by me according to their respective impact on battery
- if the basic services of Android are stable towards battery (custom kernels often reduce that )
- any wake locks
- if battery seems not affected by side-effects like mentionned above, then wait for one week of use before stating.
What I take into account while making my opinion about smoothness:
It is about shutters between screens transition, apps transition, feeling about time for the usual apps to be launched, multitasking...nothing more that a simple user feelings
Bests
thanks for the tests... but we prefer the wiping tests... just kidding...
thanks for the info,
which method do you use to remove these apps please ?
Haha..only wipe caches & dalvik from speedmod and CF kernel. I won't take any rosk from stock kernel
For system apps removal, jusy need root and titanium backup
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
CF-root and stock kernels are identical. No tweaks. Nada. Just root and Clockworkmod recovery.
So, how can the phone lag with stock kernel and be OK with CF-root ???
Placebo ?
Maybe related to the init scripts. For sure the main thing is the root with this kernel but wihin these tests and also for all samsung devices I had with Cf, it were always behaving better.
As I also said, should be related to samsung apps removal, especially the hubs.

Should be related to various tweaks, and ChainFire always aimed to provide his kernels, with Root and few tweaks.
I had GS, GS2, and CF kernels were always really nice for those looking to a Rom not too far from Stock, but with some performance tweaks and root.
Also lesser memory consumption in idle (also related to samsung apps that were removed)
BUT, having some troubles with NOVA with this setup. Several freezes, and needs to restart the launcher.
I think it is related to root access which needs to be set again coming from Speedmod to CF. Will keep you informed.

Got to be honest I disagree with a lot thats written here.
Point 1 :- Why shouldn´t we use this set up??You might have or had problems but a lot of other users don`t,me being one of them.I have had NO laggs,my battery doesn´t heat up that much with WiFi,nothing freezes and the battery life is 100% top,all what you did in Point 3 with usage I get in Point 1 plus a few hours more.
Point 2 :- Once again I disagree,I´ve had no problems what so ever, only rooted for a few extra apps and removed NONE of the Samsung apps, still fast and smooth.Battery life still top, even upto 3 day usage depending on what I´m doing.
Point 3 and 4.....can´t say anything about these points because I won´t go this far,why should I ,everything is super fast,no laggs,a lot less battery drain:good: no need for any mods.(bluetooth also works )
Maybe I´m one of the lucky ones with a good Note :laugh:but this report won`t help me,maybe a few with problems.
Hi I think you don't agree wih my report cause of different perceptions between you and I.
Battery perf is linked to what is acceptable or not for both of us and also from various comparison through many flashes since GB.
And for sure, Linked to the type of use we both have.
It is the same for smoothness. I must say I am very sensible to lags and freezes even milliseconds one For instance, I am so maniac with it that I can detect a lag in a movie while no one noticed around me.
Plus, you can tell about many things to explain mobile OS perf and I will not accept this since I can not accept that a phone running a spec near to a PC ones, suffers such perf issues.
The best example is the smoothness experienced with my nexus with Jellybean against ICS. It is day and night.

Thanks OP for the comparison :victory:
Good initiative from OP for the comparison. Each person use the Note in a different way and will have different results surely from OP. But the main point of this thread was to give us a basic idea on the different setups OP has used. Thanks!
Thanx for making thread with detail study, thogh i can not be agree with many of statements.
Here something i like to say
- There is nothing much difference between test 1 & 2 except you have Root and removed some applications.
So does it mean
*Rooting can improve performance - I dont think so
*Removing application just making space on system ROM, so does making room on system ROM, can increase performance? I dont think so
many application you have removed may not be activated on start, naturally that doesn't have any relation with performance, b'coz it just occupy space not RAM
Now some application which may have enabled on boot, even that gives you temporary extra RAM, As android itself have LMK(low memory killer) which auto kills background applications which is not in used - LRU(least recently used), and when there is enough RAM available, even you exit from applications it remains in background for quike reopening, that is basic android mechanism. So if your aim to remove some application to make available more RAM, it won't be fulfilled, b'coz that application will be replaced by recently used application by users till android system dont sense as RAM is full. (you ca test it - when you have many applications removed, sure you will have much free RAM on boot, but if you look again after 15 min of play with device, it will be again full, same as who dont have remove blotwares, so wat benefits we got by removing those?)
Yes atleast i can say applications which was running in background for some time can consume little juice, but if you believe me, my experience is it can save maximum 3-4%(of full cycle) nothing more than that. But performance? I dont have any logic to believe it.
-I can't comment on test 3, as i have never used any custom kernel, and leaving your opinion untouched.
-Again between 2 and 4
yes you have also not tested much, but somewat if your opinion goes in favor of 4 (as you said in 1&2 responce is not good but in test 4 you saying it is OK) then if i am not wrong chainfire himself said, his kernel is complete stock (minus mmc_erase_cap command +root+su binary+CWM)
so in that case your opinion may not be placebo?
Anyway dear don't feel bad. appreciate your workout, but some points which i said dont favor me to agree completely.
Regards
I think my note must have been XXLRG when I got it but after trying to do some rooting things and bricking it, then finally loading XXLR1 (ICS) It is working great with no lag or freezing what so ever. Also have scored up to 4050 on Quadrant!

I have to agree with this post. I didn't recognize any of the problems stated in the 1st option. I am currently running stock everything after having tried several different combinations of ROMS/Kernels.
There is also a lot of missing information in relation to what exact tests were performed and how they were measured : Whats apps were running at the time, were Wifi / GPS / Power Saving active, what was the state of the battery, how was "lag" measured, what brightness setting was used, Was a good 3g station nearby or was the telephone continually searching for a stronger signal, etc etc etc , The list could go on eternally.
As for anything batttery related, I do not understand how tests can be performed that have not been run over a relatively long period.
There are far too many parameters and options possible, that it would appear that the tests are merely personal interpretation.
I appreciate that you have taken the time and effort to do the testing but I am not convinced that the results can be treated as anything other than one persons thoughts at a given time.
I think that you can only perform these kind of tests when they are performed "identically" on a device that is reset from scratch and that the tests performed are measurable with precise calculation rather than the human eye/sentiment.
It is an almost impossible achievement outside of a qualified environment with a very strict set of controls.
Can the results be reproduced, is there any possibility that the results could change, would a third party be able to reproduce the same results ?
Unless of course detailed results and calculations are actually available, in which case it would be very interesting to be able read them.
Hi Dr. Ketan. Again, thanks for your guide, test 1 & 2 was done following it
Do not worry, I won't feel bad about your feedback, as for the previous one.
For sure, I think you and Chainfire knows that type of things better than me (no needs to tell why ^^), just reporting here my feelings over my tests.

Removing samsung apps does not affect that much battery, but smoothness. I certainly wrongly express myself.
Maybe CF kernel has nothing to do with it since I was always flashing this and removing the hubs (especially the social one) together.
But fore sure, since my galaxy S, even on the S2, and now on the NOTE, doing this does increase system smoothness.
I do not know that much about Android memory system managment, but the first time I've done this was because I was sick about seeing these services running in background, even without ever launching them once and it does consume memory.

Many good hints in your posts.
For sure, I've made my tests with some knwoledge about that, and trying to be in the same scenario each time.
I will update my post towards the parameters activated and other you stated.
Thanx
yes custom kernel may have improvement, b'coz that is made for that purpose, and we know developer adds some tweaks to improve performance. though i have not tested it, i can be agree on that point. but i have not make review just b'coz i have not used.

I will update my post towards the parameters activated and other you stated.

Phenryth,
I look forward to your results, the basic idea of what you are doing has the potential of becoming a very interesting article.
These are tests without any statistical significance.
So in the end your heart or gut decided.
Everyone has there own view on how their phone should perform. If you are happy with it then there is no need to change it. If not then this guide provides some tips on how to improve it.

To me for the first time ever since the ICS was introduced the 1- setup is absolutely the best I have tried, and I did try all four of them including removing Samsung bloatware.
The touch response is super sensitive, the pen works not just perfect but it also marks when in a diagonal position something never happened before, my one and only complain is the same one since seven months: the lag which comes when opening the Contacts application for the first time ,which is absolute outrageous other than that I am satisfied.
Guys i need help. I have branded Huawei P8 Lite, and there is 4 cores locked. I found out (on my last phone, Alcatel One Touch Mini S 2) that this utility can unlock rest of cores, and improve performance on phone. I was doin that with Kernel Auditor app before, but on my P8Lite app just freezes when i'm selecting CPU settings. I tried other apps but problem was the same, or apps was not free (i'm broke). I've rooted phone, installed busybox and superuser, permissions works normal. Do you have any ideas how to unlock 8 cores in that phone?
btw, i was trying performance mode on cpu developer, works as 4 cores with maximum speed, not 8 cores, and i can turn off cores (of course only this 4 cores that are available)
If you help me i'll be very, very happy, i just hate limits on branded phones.
The cause of the problem is Huawei's Power Manager software, and this "core-locking" function cannot be removed, or disabled at this point of time. I'm almost sure, apart from the Power Manager, the kernel itself has such "core-locking" thing too.
I don't know know why Huawei did this, and why they didn't include an option to use all 8 cores with manual settings.
However, tests show that the last 4 core will activate under heavy load, meaning you should not need to manually unlock them.
Personally, I don't have any performance issues with the phone, all apps running smoothly, fast, and responsively, without any major lag.
I think without these regulations, the stand-by time would be much much lover than the current stand-by time, which is a solid 1 day for me, with WiFi/LTE always on, 10-15 calls, a few YouTube vids, and almost 5-6 hrs of Spotify music a day.
On the other hand, a few guys are already working on bringin AOSP and CM to our phone, with custom kernels, maybe after the new kernels, you will be to able to use all 8 cores, but as I said before, right now, there is no option to forcefully turn on all the cores.
Thanks for reply so fast, for me that utility is important cause it greatly improved battery life for Alcatel (like 2-3x time). But if it's locked directly from Huawei i guess on this time it's not worth to risk hardbrick. Anyway, thank You for clearing it for me
Good info on that:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/octacore-4-cores-t3223533/page2
Conclusion: 8 cores work ONLY WHEN REALLY NECESSARY in Intelligent mode. CPU stats app seems to see all cores working nevertheless. CPUZ and CPUX don't see them working normally, in Intelligent mode at least.
Am I the only one experience problems with the phone being slow after few hours of usage? I use it for SNapchat, Facebook and Instagram. Nothing else, and it takes minutes to load the apps. I have contacted Nokia Support and they won't help. So I was hoping if a happy soul would be helpful and help answering my question!
EDIT! Huge thanks to Lincoln357 for a temp fix until Android 9 is released!
Hey guys,
I was very annoyed with Nokia 5 performance, contacted the support and they told me that all of that will be fixed in the next big update (Android 9, Q1 2019), so I poked around like I usually do and managed to speed up my phone significantly. This is what I did: first, enable developer settings, dial down animations to 0.5x or even off, then enable GPU rendering as well as tether hardware acceleration, set 4 processes in the background and voila! Phone is much much faster and more responsive, it almost feels like another device! Try this, you have nothing to lose.
I usually find closing down all of the open apps(Press the menu button to open task manager then swipe the applications to the left) usually helps. Failing that a power off then back on again. At least once a week
Thats weard
My Nokia 5 works perfectly with Android 8 and apps like Snapchat etc.
As I bought it I disabled most of the GoogleApps, like Google Music or Google Mail and most of the time the phone runs very smooth.
The only (small) problem I have is that Android close Snapchat in the background, so it needs a few seconds till I can use the app. But except this, I've never had any problem like you
Maybe you must clear the cache once a week with an app like CCleaner or your internal storage is full and Android have problems to works good
Otherwise go the settings and look what app uses much rescources
I hope that it helped you a bit

2 options: roll back to Nougat or restart your phone every day or two. I found that when you get used to restarting, it's not that bad. Before going to sleep set alarm clock and just restart the damned thing. Or in the morning while having a coffee or getting dressed. Every day the phone is like new. And RAM is cleaned up, so it can store more apps (that works I believe with all the phones) (Nokia 5 is capable of holding 15+ apps in the background for a full day after restart and like 4-5 after 2 days).
Yeah, here too. When I got the phone it was running Nougat 7.1.2 and updated same evening to Oreo. I haven't got a chance to see how it worked on Nougat but now phone is slow, laggy, sometimes unresponsive etc. I also contacted Nokia support but there's no help from them. My kid has Ulefone S7 with MTK CPU and 2 gigs of ram and that phone is lightning fast compared to mine, which is absurd, it even has better Antutu score. Fact is that Oreo for Nokia 5 isn't polished enough and makes the phone slow and Nokia itself won't do anything about it yet.
Uninstall Facebook, wipe cache

I had the same problem after updating Nokia 5 to Android 8.1. This is how I fixed it:
1. Uninstall Facebook and Instagram - they are notorious resource hogs
2. Wipe cache partition (no need for factory reset)

Doesn't work for me. I've tried before to tweak Nokia 5, no avail!
Now i can even FREEZE the System with google Earth!!! Just like i did in my previous NOKIA 5. You just have to browse on GE, jumping from site to site, and eventually, Nokia 5 will crack! This show up massive problems with, maybe memory, I/O... i don't really know, but this hardware has severe faults in it...

But 4 processes aren't much...?
I think that the system would kill almost every app in the background... The phone should be faster, but the apps need more time to start

Holy s***, that actually worked! Thanks for the temporary fix! I'm also hyped for Android 9 haha.

Did not work for me.
The best thing that worked for me was to install apps to manage the apps that BOOT up with the phone... even though i don't understand that logic, because after using ALL in ONE TOOLBOX, and disabling all the APPS, and enabling them again, i had then fewer apps on the list... I don't fully understand this mechanism...
Still, i'm going nuts with my SECOND NOKIA 5!
It's performance is problematic, i can crash it in a few minutes with apps like Google Earth, etc. Using this phone is a real PAIN: https : //community.phones.nokia.com/support/discu*ssions/topics/7000022723
Can you please tell me what's the SPEED of the INTERNAL MEMORY (write speed) that you are getting? I'm having a discussion here, and someone says that there is NOT possible that a MEMORY CARD could have better performance than the internal memory, BUT IT DOES! In both my NOKIA 5 (one i returned, the other... still problematic!)
I've used https : //play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co*m.a1dev.sdbench
and https : //play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=co*m.andromeda.androbench2
Results are consistent!
BOTH internal memory and CARD have 50 to 60Mb/s WRITE SPEED! This is NONSENSE! :\
Any other phone even with unknown chinese brands have MUCH higher internal memory WRITE speed...
This solution worked beautifully for me especially after i did a factory reset aswell. Also got a expansion card and installing most of the apps on it. Seems to be the OS quite a bit if the crappy internal memory card isn't too full
After much trouble I decided to switch to Xiaomi and I didn't regret it! The phone with the same amount of ram and quad core newer CPU works much faster than Nokia 5. Games are loading faster, there's no lag at all, everything is pretty much better. Couldn't wait for Android 9 to see if it would speed up the phone and Nokia support didn't help me at all. This phone is even a bit cheaper than Nokia was 4 months ago. My problems are solved.
